Lan Wan Professional Reviews (%countItem)

This is a rip-off, a scam. The learning service offered by LAN WAN is “Employment Training” does not prepare you for the Network Engineer position as advertised. I want a full refund: Total spent so far: $6,524.00, not including airfare. I have emails, stack of documentation, recordings that LANWAN Professional instructs/trains everyone to use during all phone conversations and an embellished resume. I have many LANWAN Professional instructing/collaborating where once I followed there instructions, my employer got very mad on two occasions, caused serious problems. I have several where *** is probing for info and then makes intimidating statements, and scared tactics, Oh I forgot, I am told I am not professional when I state truthful facts/questions. Beware!!! There is no Job placement, you cold call, they do offer or not speak or interact with employers, and the so called “efficient Learning” training is questionable and I hope someone looks into these practices.

I was unemployed and looking for network engineering technical training and job placement, I located LANWAN Professional, also known as Global Networks Enterprises & Technologies, at http://www.lanwanprofessional.com/ and was convinced by ***, Director of Member Services, with the CWA/CCNA Grant package valued at $3980.00, but I paid $578 and then $380 for the CWA/CCNA Grant package.

The deficiency in training performance in regards to the services is the so called “real world hands-on focused enterprise LAN/WAN training on that is designed to update/upgrade your LAN/WAN staff skills 10 times faster with minimal time away from work and the Job placement”. I did not learn 10X faster, a gimmick. One the hands on comes without classroom, no Cisco books, no technical lectures, no teaching, and you are in competition getting technical support, if you complain, you are told you are not learning correctly “efficient learning"

Lan Wan Professional Response

LAN/WAN Professional is a nationwide membership organization that helps its members advance in enterprise LAN/WAN through a series of proprietary proven and effective technical and professional services that are designed to help our member attain upgraded employment earning $60,000 to over $150,000 per year.

INVEST $50,000/ALLOWS PAYMENT TIED TO EMPLOYMENT - If approved as a member, we invest up to $50,000 in services in every member and allow those members to defer the payment of those services until they received a job offer.

To ensure that all members meet the qualifications for membership, as well as ensuring that these members are fully educated on the services they are receiving and also the commitments they need to make to be a member and receive the service payment deferment, all prescreened applicants go through a very extensive two step qualification/test drive process that includes; Step 1 – One week of remote LAN/WAN hands-on (paid by $490 grant) and Step 2 – Two week remote & 4 day Camp (Partially Paid By Grant Depending On Performance During Step One).

TWO STEP TEST DRIVE/QUALIFICATION PROCESS - The two step process ensures that all interested applications receive the most extensive access to our service prior to making any commitments and allows LAN/WAN Professional to thoroughly assess an individual prior to approving these members and investing up to $50,000 in services.

The individual was approved for 1 week of remote access on April 1, 2017 that was fully paid by a grant we offered. After completing the 1 week of remote, the individual expressed significant enthusiasm for both the high quality of our service and how much he learned in such a short period of time. Unfortunately, the individual did not perform well during this step and we recommended that he does not move forward as we felt our service was not an ideal match for this member.

In spite of our recommendation, the individual stated that his performance during the 1 week did not properly represent his actual abilities and proactively requested that we reconsider him to continue forward. With hesitation, we approved this member for a partial grant of $3,100 to receive additional remote including attending a 4 day camp valued at $3,980 on May 13, 2017. The individual paid $880 after applying the grant for a service valued at $3,980. To further ensure that the individual knew what he was getting into, we approved the individual for additional services through a special membership that include additional services that lasted through September of 2017.

By September, the individual had received over 300 hours in technical services including personally meeting our staff at the 4 day camp. Based on the significant amount of services received to date including personally visiting us in California and meeting our staff, the member should have been fully aware of what we provide and the level and quality of our service. If the member had any doubts to date, he could have not continued forward and the member would not be responsible for any future obligations. In fact, LAN/WAN Professional respectfully recommended that the member DO NOT continue forward to become a member.

APPROVED BASED ON MEMBER REQUEST/COMMITMENT - Throughout this period, individual expressed great appreciation for the services he received to date and stated with strong enthusiasm how much he learned and benefited from the services he received. Based on his very positive experience he requested to be allowed to continue forward.

Unfortunately, the individual did not perform well during the 4 day camp and during the remote. In addition, the individual demonstrated negative behavior in regards to handling failure including blaming others for not performing well. This negative behavior is a significant red flag and LAN/WAN Professional normally would not approve a member who displays this behavior. With that stated the individual, though unemployed, had over 20 years of IT work experience that reflected a high amount of transferable skills to enterprise LAN/WAN. In addition, the individual apologized for his interpersonal mishandling and low performance and stated that much of his negative reaction was due to the stress of being unemployed and he will work to handle things better and also perform better in learning the LAN/WAN skills.

Our concern was that the journey to getting upgraded employment in LAN/WAN required an intensive amount of effort from the individual including acquiring a significant amount of LAN/WAN skills including properly following our proprietary methodology and approach for both technical development and timely employment. In addition, it was important that the individual had a positive and professional attitude/perspective throughout the process. Finally, we were also concerned as to whether the individual would follow through on his financial obligations with us if we helped him during this difficult period in his life.

With great concern/hesitation, LAN/WAN Professional approved the individual for membership based the individual’s repeated and seemingly sincere commitment to follow through on his commitments. Upon approval, the member received a significant amount of services including attending an extended camp in California that ended on September, 16, 2017.

RECEIVED JOB OFFER WITHIN 10 DAYS OF CAMP COMPLETION - Upon camp completion, the goal was for the member to acquire a mid-level LAN/WAN position earning $80,000 to $120,000 per year within 2 to 8 weeks of camp completion. Unfortunately, the member only partially followed through on this promise. In addition, the member’s attitude/perspective was not the most positive. In spite of this, the member received a job offer for a senior LAN/WAN position earning $150,000 per year on September 26, 2017 just 10 days after leaving camp. It was our understanding that this member had not had proper and steady employment for over 2 years. In addition, the $150,000 per year was significantly more than this individual had ever earned. Based on all these factors, we would consider this a success.

As happy as we were for the member, our concern was that the member may have difficulty handling this role based on his low technical performance to date. With that stated, the individual did have over 20 years of general IT work experience. To ensure that the member had a chance for success, we provided significant amount of help in both preparing him for this role and also supporting him during the initial month of employment. In addition, we even deferred the payments for services received that begins upon job offer/start to further help the member.

During the initial few weeks of employment, the individual struggled both technically and professionally. For this reason, LAN/WAN Professional spent significant amount of time mentoring and supporting the member prior to job start and during the initial few weeks of employment. For these reasons, the member seemed to have overcome these issues and transitioning to be functional in his new role. Unfortunately, LAN/WAN Professional was notified by the individual that he unilaterally quit his job due to interpersonal reasons on or about November 1, 2017.

It is our understanding that he was not fired, but UNILATERALLY QUIT with no notification to his employer or us. In fact, it is our understanding that the notification to the employer was on the day he quit and the individual did not notify us until almost 4 days after the member quit his job. In addition, we have not been able to talk to the individual even after many attempts of contact via phone and email.

LAN/WAN PROFESSIONAL PROVIDED PROPER SERVICES TO DATE - To date, LAN/WAN Professional provided proper services to date. This is demonstrated throughout the many months of engagement with the members that culminated in the member attaining timely employment.

The amount of services received to date is $43,545 in services after applying initial payments made by member and credit for services not fully received. This is verified by multiple documents signed by the individual at varying stages of the relationship process. This includes documents signed at the time of membership approval before service was received AND after service was provided AND a final monthly payment confirmation form that was signed on 9/26 upon job offer receipt by the member.

LAN/WAN Professional desires to part ways on a positive note and will provide positive options to allow the individual to resolve his obligations with us. This has been told to the member in writing on multiple occasions during the past few weeks. If the member does not work on an agreement with us by Friday, 11/2, we will, unfortunately, need to escalate the individuals file to collection. Escalation of a file to collections is never positive for either parties. For this reason, we hope that we can avoid this and resolve this in a mutually positive manner.”

Customer Response

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

LANWAN Professional advised me during job consultations to tell my employer there is no "OSPF area 0" in the backbone design and how to illustrate a "physical diagrams", "employer stated unacceptable" This is a reflection of Job counseling sessions and upset employer twice.

This advice during some of our sessions made employer anger regarding area 0 statements and then again when I turned in diagram is what caused the loss of employment. I followed there instructions, employer got upset on two occasions, caused serious problems. I lost the job because of these issues.

All I ever wanted was the CWA/CCNA/CCNP training and to get my certifications. I never once asked for additional packages, they were recommended and I trusted *** opinion. I did asked for job placement help and I was told I must come to camp for that so another agreement was created

These agreements are used to obligate individuals into large financial responsibilities. Someone needs to review this financials obligation and how it coincides with the job training, and job placement. The Job Training/placement is a directly reflection of how well a individual do on the job. On a final note my resume was rewrote by LANWAN Professional and that is really what got the employers attention. Everyone in my class took issues with it, not just me.

Lan Wan Professional Response

As stated previously, LAN/WAN Professional has one of the most extensive vetting process for becoming a member of our organization, including receiving 100 to over 150 hours of services over a period of 1 to 2 months BEFORE becoming a member and BEFORE signing any significant agreements that obligates these members. This is to ensure that all new members are fully aware of both the positive benefits of membership and also the deferred obligations, requirements and sacrifices that are necessary to be a successful member.

The individual who is posting this complaint received additional services totaling over 300 hours over a period of over 3 months BEFORE signing the current agreement. This is due to our concern regarding both the individual’s technical aptitude and professional approach/perspective, including how the individual handles interpersonal conflicts in professional situations. In addition, we had concerns as to whether this individual would follow through on his obligations to us. Based on all these significant concerns, our initial decision was to not approve the individual for membership.

With that stated, the individual made repeated statements of how much he appreciates the services he received to date and his positive statements regarding the high quality of our services. Finally, the individual was very tenacious requesting to become a member. Based on this we approved the individual for membership with significant reservations.

To date, the member has received $43,545 in services after applying initial payments. This is validated by at least three separate agreements including (1) a document that was signed prior to receiving the services, (2) second document signed during the course of receiving the services and a (3) final document that was signed after receiving the services and a LAN/WAN job. At no time during this period did the individual questioned whether he received the services and the quality of our services.

Finally, the individual quit his job without notification to both his employer and LAN/WAN Professional. This last action alone is unprofessional behavior and is not something that any member of our organization would do. LAN/WAN Professional states that we provided quality services that his beyond what was expected and respectfully hopes that the individual posting this complaint will now fulfill his obligations to us.
