Land of Lincoln Health Reviews (117)

Land of Lincoln Insurance stands by nothing they post in their materials No accountability whatsoever I was told my doc was covered in network and then weeks later when I showed up for my appointment they told me I wasn't covered Why? My doctor would be in network if I drove to a location over an hour from my house, but if I wanted to see him at my local location-the one I'd been swing him at for years, I would have to pay out of network The issue according to the LOL repwas that his billing address is from his Chicago location Even though all claims go through the same office and under the same tax ID number, LOL told me to tell my physician that if he want his other location included for in-network, that he needs to update the profile on his website to include that location So much for continuity of care They put all burden on their clients and the physicians they have contracts with Their website is a joke and looks like a year old put it together Why would I need to put in a date to search for their providers list? Insane They are behind in posting claims and deny parents the right to access their children's claims without opening a separate account for them....ridiculous FYI: if you are an insurance company and you are a reputable business, you ensure that the information on the website that YOU put together is accurate and up to date The consumer is paying YOU Either stand by your company or get out of the business

I have been a member since Jan 1, & had my 1st doctor visit & Rx purchase on 1/5/ I still can't see my claims, prescriptions, or any indication of what they have or do not have submitted to them the website says " Claims, Explanation of Benefits (EOB's) and Accumulators are currently being processed and will be available to view soon" I have left phone messages - you are not allowed to hold, you enter your call back number & are assured just before you are disconnected that "they will call you back - you will not lose your place in line" - THEY DO NOT CALL BACK - weeks since my first call & nothing - no communication I have sent emails - no reply The only thing they have communicated is my premium invoice! I am starting to think I made a horrible mistake choosing Land Of Lincoln Health - how do I find out what is going on with my claims if they will not communicate with me?

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/01/09) */ Land of Lincoln Health (LLH) recently received case number XXXXXXXX in reference to an issue with payment and eligibilityThe member enrolled in a Land of Lincoln Health insurance plan through the [redacted] which provides an electronic data file of enrollment information to LLH as the insurer LLH discovered a systemic issue with a number of [redacted] enrollments, whose information was not able to be properly loaded into our payment and eligibility systemAfter attempting to receive an updated file from the [redacted] to correct this issue, LLH developed a work around solution for this by performing manual data entry into our eligibility systemUnfortunately, as this was a manual process, the data entry took a significant amount of time, and needed to be quality checked to ensure no further issues were being created for the benefit of our membersTherefore, the member's enrollment information was delayed in being loaded to our system; however, his enrollment into an LLH health insurance plan was effective retroactively to a 1/1/effective date as requested LLH contacted the member by phone once this was completed to update him on the status of his enrollment, and were able to advise him of his member ID number as well as the expected delivery of his welcome kitLLH staff also instructed the member as to how to print a temporary ID card and view other policy information through Land of Lincoln Health's member portalFurthermore, LLH has confirmed receipt of the member's payment which was made through the Marketplace and has applied this to the member's account as of today

Revdex.com of Chicago & Northern Illinois [redacted] RE: Case [redacted] To Whom It May Concern: Land of Lincoln Health received a rebuttal to case [redacted] regarding a precertification for a medical procedureWe apologize for the delay with the precertification processOn 3/1/2016, Land of Lincoln Health changed medical management vendors, which resulted in a delay in processing requests for some of our membersThe situation has now been rectified and requests are now being processed within 5-business daysThe member should no longer have such a delay going forward if another precertification is neededBest Regards, Land of Lincoln Health

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:Each time I have called this business I have received a different responseNow I'm told the the specific test I originally called about is not classified as a test, but in the same category as outpatient surgery with the attendant higher costs yet to be clarified. Part of my complaint was that my health providers were given the wrong information by Land of LincolnThey have now given the correct information regarding this specific matter only after several weeks and this complaint being filedHowever there is no system in place to suggest that Land of Lincoln will give the correct information in a timely manner in the future
Sincerely,
*** ***

Revdex.com of Chicago & Northern Illinois Wabash, SteChicago, IL RE: Case *** To Whom It May Concern: Land of Lincoln Health received case *** regarding an estimated quote for benefitsWe contacted the member on 3/8/and advised that the procedure that she inquired
about would be subject to her individual deductible of $2,and 35% coinsurance at *** *** HospitalThe member wanted an exact estimate of cost, which we explained would not be possible due to variations in reimbursement rates from provider to provider, as well as all of the individual procedure and diagnostic codes that go into determining how claims are adjudicatedThe member is able to contact the provider to ask about billed charges, and then she can estimate her cost using an approximate discount rate between 20% to 40% off of the billed charge amountUnfortunately, we are not able to disclose further information as discount rates are proprietary and are not shared with health plan members industry-wideBest Regards, Land of Lincoln Health

Revdex.com Chicago & Northern Illinois Wabash, SteChicago, IL RE: Case *** To Whom It May Concern: Land of Lincoln Health received case *** regarding a plan termination and refundLLH receives enrollment information from the Health Insurance Marketplace, and in this
particular case we received a termination date of 2/29/16, not 1/1/The Marketplace is the “source of truth” for eligibility and we cannot override their enrollment dataTherefore, the member will need to contact them at *** and request to open a HICS (health insurance casework system) caseIf approved by the Marketplace for a termination date of 1/1/16, LLH will be able to process a refundUnless this update is made, the member is considered as having coverage for the month of January and no refund can be issuedBest Regards, Land of Lincoln Health

My Market Place Health insurance cost to me for was $but for that same insurance went up from that to $a month I only work part time and make just a little But you are persecuted if you get insurance and persecuted if you don't It is life in a trap So I picked a company called Ambetter and it is worst They took my money and sent me three pages of doctors who was suppose to be in my area I call the first on and got a disconnected number message The others do not accept Ambetter This issue of being forced into health care even if you don't need it is horrible If I have a problem who could solve it better than me? Certainly not these crooks who have money all on their minds

Initial Business Response /* (4000, 11, 2015/03/24) */
Land of Lincoln Health received case XXXXXXXX regarding an issue involving eligibility for a member's health insurance plan
Land of Lincoln Health (LLH) did receive the above referenced request to cancel the health insurance plan at
which time LLH did refer the member to the Health Insurance Marketplace where his enrollment originatedThrough communication with the member, it appeared the member was told by the Marketplace that the earliest his policy could be cancelled was mid-March and could not be back dated to 1/as requested
Unfortunately since the member's enrollment came through the Marketplace, LLH is obligated to process the enrollment and termination transactions as they are received from the MarketplaceAfter it appeared, the issue was not going to be resolved by the Marketplace to the member's liking, an LLH service team member advised the member that once his grace period for nonpayment ran out, the coverage would be automatically terminated to 1/LLH advised the member of this in a best effort to provide the member a solution to an issue that is outside of our control
The member's account is scheduled to be terminated within the next week once the grace period has been exhaustedFurthermore, LLH would not and will not continue to seek payment nor would we turn the case over to a collection agency
In regards to the member's additional request regarding misinformation of coverage, LLH does not have a record on file of the Veterans Administration contacting our Customer Service Team on behalf of the memberIf the member has additional information regarding this matter, we are happy to look into this further so that we can ensure this does not happen again in the future

Revdex.com of Chicago & Northern Illinois N Wabash, SteChicago, IL RE: Case *** To Whom It May Concern: Land of Lincoln Health received case *** regarding a plan terminationAs stated previously in response to this member’s complaint under a separate case number, LLH
does not have the authority to cancel an insurance policy for a member who purchased their coverage through the Health Insurance MarketplaceIf the member has cancelled coverage, this request has not been sent to LLH to terminate her policyIn this case, the member will need to contact them at *** and request to open a *** (health insurance casework system) caseWe will then be notified of the termination and will reach out to confirm thisAlternatively, the member has the option of not paying her invoices and she would then be cancelled for non-paymentWe would terminate the policy as of 1/LLH does not report to collections agency or credit bureaus and this would in no way affect the member negativelyUntil the policy is cancelled either through the *** process or through automatic cancellation, LLH may receive tax credits for this memberUpon termination, these will be returned on behalf of the member through our monthly reconciliation with the MarketplaceAt this time, however, LLH can do nothing other than to wait for the member’s policy to terminate due to non-paymentBest Regards, Land of Lincoln Health

While the call center reps are polite, it is almost impossible to get claims paid or or in-network benefits for major events I needed surgery in May, After verifying that the hospital *** *** & surgeon were in-network, I tried to confirm that the anesthesiologist would be in- network as well To my (& my surgeon's) disbelief, LLH has zero anesthesthiologists at *** in-network (and no radiologists either)
I was able to switch to *** *** and postpone my surgery until June, but am still trying to get past LLH in-network claims paid that are now months old, as well as an insurance premium that LLH had erroneously withdrew from my bank account for the month after my coverage stopped
Do NOT rely on this company for your medical insurance needs! They are clearly underfunded and understaffed, and likely on the verge of collapse

Revdex.com of Chicago & Northern Illinois N Wabash, SteChicago, IL RE: Case *** To Whom It May Concern: Land of Lincoln Health received a rebuttal to case *** regarding an estimated quote for benefits The information provided to this member in the previous Revdex.com response was correct, the member will owe toward her deductible and co-insurance for the procedure she inquired aboutAs stated in the previous response, we are unable to provide an exact dollar amount of what the member can expect to pay, however Going forward, if the member wishes to clarify benefit coverage, she is able to reference her member resource guide or access a summary of benefits and coverage on our website in addition to contacting our member services department Best Regards, Land of Lincoln Health

I am a selling agent for Health Insurance, and this is my first time ever taking time to express my thoughts with a companyThis was my first year selling Land of Lincoln to my clients, as they had the better rates for our areaHowever, upon saying that I am very regretful of ever selling this company to my clientsThey have the WORST customer service and communication skillsI have tried to allow time for them to improve, but it has not once shown a level of improvement over monthsI have dealt with many companies in my time and this by far is the worst experience I have ever hadI can't elaborate enough of the level of disgust I have of selling this companyI will honestly say I will never put my name again on policy from hereI am working diligently to switch my current customers over to another, even if it is a few dollars moreI would never recommend this company to anyoneI hope this review can help as a warning to others when deciding on who to go with

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me
