.Severely cracked storm door
I have a Larson Savannah retractable screen door that has numerous cracks and terrible fading to surface. In July I applied a coat of paint to try and hide them, however this did not help. My builder suggested I contact Larson as the door was under warranty. Larson said because I painted the door the warranty was voided. Larson should honor the warranty as the paint certainly did not cause the unsightly cracks.

Desired Outcome

I would like to have a new door

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
The Larson company has agreed to replace most of the door as long as I pay a shipping charge. I spoke with a spokesperson representing Larson and she was very understanding and helpful. I a awaiting arrival of my door which may take 5-6 weeks and hopefully it will match the hardware on my exiting door. As of today I would have to say that the Larson company does really want to satisfy their customers.

Impossible to get warranty service as listed in the 20 Yr warranty agreement. After about 10-15 emails a day for past week, with a different story each email, we are not going to get the same type of door (236-SX) or equivalent without our having to pay to add what was originally on the defective door. We will have to recycle the lock that came with the old door and modify the new door (which they say voids the warranty on the new door) with it. This is possibly the worst Warranty Replacement experience I have had in my 75 years -- and the company is just 15 miles away! It did not used to be that way. What Happened Larsons?

Buyer beware. Their replacement screen inserts are sub par. The one they sent me did not fit, and was defectively bowed. I spent $172.99 on the screen insert and the retainers, which most likely cost them less than $10 to make. They have a terrible return policy, and refuse to pay for return shipping or to issue a refund. They told me to return it, and I tried to do so, but it will cost $218 minimum to ship the box, due to the size. The screen insert is 72 5/16" tall, and the boxing makes it even longer. Cheap, defective, bowed insert, made by them at a cost of $172. Money down the drain. Filing a complaint with the Revdex.com. Terrible service.

I purchased a storm door from *** back in November. A couple of weeks the glass shattered in pieces for no reason at all.
I called *** not helpful and all the same day I discovered it they was not helpful and transferred me to Larson . I was informed by Larson that glass is not covered and it would cost $*** dollars including tax to replace. I paid $*** for the door plus installation. Larson customer service *** told me to put the glass in myself or hire someone. My son cut his foot twice on the glass because I cannot get all the glass up. He had to get tetanus shot and antibiotics.

Desired Outcome

I am requesting full replacement back including installation and a refund for the $*** dollars. The door is unsafe with glass stuck into it

Purchased a *** Easy Hang storm door which had faulty instructions and now I have a door I cannot use
I purchased a Larson *** "Easy Install" storm door. I studied the instructions both before and the day of installation because I am *** trying to make ends meet and do things on my own to save money. The instructions clearly said that the glass inserts and the screen were "reversa" which I, like any normal person would take as meaning reversible. The door had a kick plate and since the instructions gave no indication as to whether the kick plate went in or out and I was under the assumption the glass and screen were reversible, I went with the norm and put the kick plate on the outside BUT before doing so I even *** it to make sure what I thought was the norm was really the norm. The first thing that pops up is that they go on the outside which made sense to me especially since I have dogs. So I continued to install and then the last step is to install the glass and screen. Well guess what, not reversible. So then I figured maybe I was supposed to flip the frame around for the glass and screen to fit properly (even though the instructions gave no indication on this either) so I unscrewed that and tried it but there were no holes on the other side and the side that originally had the wholes were then exposed (the frame did not cover it) so at that point I was so frustrated that I just put two of the pieces I could in (and had to duct tape the screen portion in order to keep it from blowing away) and called it a night because this "Easy Hang" door that was supposed to take a couple of hours had already taken up 7 hours of my day. Now that it is a new day I have come to realize that the only thing left that could be wrong is that stupid kick plate. It must have to go on the inside. However, if I switch it around now, I will have a bunch of holes in a brand new door and it will look like garbage all because a company gave faulty instructions. I tried contacting customer support and they kept telling me that I read the instructions wrong which I simply did not. The instructions do NOT talk about the kick plate anywhere. In fact, no where in the instructions does it say there is a right or wrong way to hang the door. Instructions should be made for everyone to follow even beginners. No assumptions should be made that someone already knows this or that. They offered to ship me a new door (just the door piece) if I paid $*** shipping! Why should I have to pay for anything when this was not my fault. I really don't want to have to take the whole thing down, repackage it, and take it back to the store because Larson cannot treat their customers fairly. If that is what I have to do though, I will do it and then I will buy another brand and Larson will lose all the money on this door and a customer.

Desired Outcome

All I want is a replacement door at no cost to me. I am willing to pick it up somewhere near me. For instance if a normal delivery is made to *** and you can throw it on that truck and I can pick it up there; that is perfectly fine with me. I am not willing to pay $*** shipping. I don't need any of the other pieces, just the door. Also it would be nice if you made some adjustments to your instructions so this does not happen to anyone else. It is extremely frustrating when instructions are hard to follow and even more frustrating when things are left out. Thank you.

Ordered a replacement part for the door. Size is wrong and Larson wont refund my money or send a label for the old parts
We ordered a replacement glass/screen for our door ***. The door is 36X81 which when you put that number on the website it comes up. We ordered it was delivered 6/1/2020. We go to install and the glass and screen are significantly smaller than what they should be. Our glass is about 28x35 inches. The glass they sent was 24 inches wide. I told them it was too small and I was informed it was correct and maybe we aren't measuring correctly and that the only option for that door was this glass they sent or one that is smaller. We ended that call.
I then speak to my spouse and she chats when them through the chat option and asks for a refund and a prepaid label to send the wrong parts back. The lady(Theresa) refuses and tells me that's not how this works that we need to pay to ship the parts that were not correct for our door. As I tell her no we need a refund she just ends the chat without properly ending the conversation.
I would just like a refund, if they do want the wrong parts back then they will need to send a prepaid label. I will not pay to ship wrong parts back.

Desired Outcome

I'm just looking for a refund and for them to send a label so we can ship the wrong parts back. If they do not want the parts then we can discard them.

Purchased a Door from *** it is missing several parts, and they will not replace the missing parts.

Upon initial inspection the door was missing the locking mechanism, I contacted larson customer service to make sure that it was supposed to come with it, and indeed it was. The Customer Service department sent me a new one. While I was waiting for the part I kept the door in the original box and proceeded with the rest of the home renovations. When I was finally able to install the door and had all the parts and instructions out I noticed then I was missing several other pieces. Larson emailed me and said "Thank you for the reply. With the absence of a receipt showing you paid full price, and many parts missing, we simply cannot replace all those parts. This door has been around for a few years, and is most likely either a returned door or someone at the store opened the box and took parts out. I am sorry."

You didn't need a receipt the first time?

I am very disappointed, these doors are over $*** and now I cannot use mine.

Desired Outcome

Replacement parts

I purchased 2 security doors from *** in ***. The doors started rusting and tearing.
In *** I purchased 2 steel security doors from ***. The doors started rusting and now tearing apart. I contacted *** and was told that I need to contact the manufacturer. On *** I contacted the manufacturer and was told I had to take pictures of the doors, fill out paperwork they would send me and then they would send someone out to take a look at the doors and see what they could do for me. Why am I having to jump through hoops for them? If they are going to send some one out why can't they do that, and they can see the doors and the paperwork from where I purchased the doors. Why do I have to go through all of this if they're going to send someone out here anyway. It would make a great deal of sense for them to send the person out, let them look at my doors and my paperwork. Stell doors should last much longer than they have.

Desired Outcome

I would like for them to send someone out here to look at my doors and either replace them or refund my money. I don't have a camera or cell phone so I can't take pictures, so I would have to pay someone just to take pictures of the doors.

The glass on the Security storm door is cracking. Company (Larson) will not replace the door or fix it.
The so called Security storm door glass it cracking. We don't know what is causing it, but we were told by the company (Larson) that we have to purchase a new glass through *** because they can't deliver the glass and see if they can install it. They gave us the order number for the glass and told us we will have to pay for everything because they don't cover the glass on the door that they claim, it can't be broken into or they will pay you a thousand dollars. I don't want any money from them I want my door replaced or fixed eventhough the advertisement is false. The glass is eventually going to shatter because the crack is getting worse which is a safety hazard and I should not have to pay for it because the door is not what the they say it is.

Desired Outcome

I want the door replaced or fixed at no cost to me.

Storm door made for the elements keeps freezing up.
We purchased a Larson storm door for our house and since it has been colder in our area the door windows entirely freeze up and sometimes freezes the door shut. When I contacted the company concerning this issue they basically blamed it on every other thing they could. I had an older storm door in this same area which did not have any of theses issues. They have not responded to me with any other HELPFUL info only info blaming other causes which I responded to them wouldn't that mean my other door would have had the same issues then.

Desired Outcome

I would like my door to be repaired so this issue doesn't happen. If this is such a known issue with storm doors as they claim why can I drive down my street and look at all of my neighbors houses with storm doors and see no ice and no condensation.

Larson Manufacturing Company Response • Jan 24, 2020

Mr *** also reach out to us via email. We sent a sheet with several facts and tips to help reduce or eliminate the condensation they are experiencing. We sent an email and made several calls to follow up to see if he needed any more assistance. We have not heard back from Mr. as of ***.

This tips and fact sheet is the same sheet that was originally sent to me when I first reached out to the company for resolution with resolving my problem with my screen door. Larson sent me the WRONG replacement parts TWICE. They charged me $*** and I want a FULL refund. They told me to donate the items but no refund!
I have a 12 year old Larson Storm Door. I contacted Larson for a replacement door handle and Stryker that have badly tarnished. My door is guaranteed for LIFETIME. Larson sent the wrong parts. I called and was told to donate the wrong item to *** and a new one would be sent. The second one was even worse than the first. The dimensions are ALL different and it's impossible to replace the items ... I am not a novice mechanic and this is just plain and simple .... the WRONG ITEMS WERE SENT TO ME. Desired Outcome

I have purchased 3 Larson doors from ***. The last door I purchased has a hairline crack going through it. The door was purchased because the advertisement said it would not break. Desired Outcome

Storm door purchase is hazardous glass continues to fall
My complaint is more of a hazard safety issue. I ordered a storm door R# *** paid over *** dollars for a perfect door. This was purchased in *** in ***, we got it few weeks back finally got a chance to install to come find out the glass is not being able to be secured by the retaining strips provided, these strips are made from a very cheap looking plastic. Even the online agent said they may melt with heat over time, I have small kids in home right now even with one finger if some one pushes glass it comes out , again I hate to see some one hurt because of this. I called number online no one answers , I went online they told me to purchase better retainers made out of aluminum for *** from their website. (Why would this not already be included in their door? ) they refused to ship it out at no charge , I contacted their corporate Spoke to a *** who immediately connected me to again a customer service agent which were not able to assist me in the first place, no consumer should have to #1 fear for what they pay for , #2 waste time trying to Be proactive to find a solution for a company's negligence.

Desired Outcome

I either ask for these aluminum retainers to be ahasent out at no charge or refund me my *** plus tax door

BART from ***. Both cylinders have gone bad even after adjustments door either slams or stays open no in between. Contacted *** they told me the contact Larson, that this is under warranty. Contacted Larson's "live chat" was told there is a year and a half warranty. I asked for replacement parts and she said I'm outside of the warranty. I forwarded her the picture of the receipt and she claims based on my receipt I'm outside of warranty. I then told her a year and a half would not be until *** and she didn't respond & disconnected from me. Tried several times to get back on line and it appears I've been blocked somehow. I have screenshots of the conversation and I'm very dissatisfied with Larson's customer service and warranty at this time.

company is not honoring replacement of missing parts as stated in their product policy manual
On *** I purchased two Larson Storm doors at *** store in ***, .
One of the doors box was in tact, however the other door had the top flap on the box taped shut. When I saw this I figured it was just for added security for containment of contents and that perhaps it had popped open during shipping to ***.
The total for both doors was $***. After getting the doors home, I opened the taped door box and after reading the manual, discovered that some of the parts were missing for one door.(The other door was complete). The instruction manual stated on the front page that if there is "missing parts DON'T GO BACK TO THE STORE". (Their words!) On *** I called the phone number listed right under this statement and reached a customer service representative (who had a somewhat rude tone) after I had to wait 20 minutes on wait time. I gave her the warranty registration number on the door and explained what parts I needed that were missing to install the door. She instructed me to email a copy of my receipt and I did. I also gave her my address and email and she told me that someone would get back to me. I then received an email from "" stating that they were NOT going to send any replacement parts because the box was taped and that I was to take the door back to ***! Furthermore,I am a *** year old female and it is not an easy task for me to cart big items like this back and for to a store that is almost a 30 minute drive.

The Warranty Registration Number for the door is:
***

The missing parts are:
1. Door Sweep
2. Left and Right Rail Extenders
3. Closer Kit and Installation screws
4. Quickfit Installation Kit
5. Mortise Hole Cover

Desired Outcome

Send me missing parts requested and required to install the door.

DO NOT believe Larson door's warranty. I bought a door because of the LIFETIME warranty. When the door was no longer serviceable I sought replacement under the warranty: "after 5 years 50% of Manufacturer's current published suggested retail price as long as original owner owns the door." All I got was a $20 or $40 voucher depending on the quality of the door. That's a FAR cry from the 50% replacement warranty. IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO HONOR THE WARRANTY, DON'T MAKE IT!!!!!!

I have learned to never say never, but in Larsons case I will make an exception. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY A LARSON PRODUCT. The screen door I bought was not manufactured completely, the instructions were confusing and comic bookish. Customer service was condescending and unhelpful. A week after opening the box and 5 phone calls with 30 plus minute wait times by 2 different people the only that has been accomplished is *** both of us off and to have been told to finish the manufacturing.
