Laser Cosmetica Reviews (28)

Review: I purchased a full body laser package fron an NYC location in 2010. The package consisted of 10 treatments of which I have paid for in full. I have been able to use 6 of my treatments, however multiple offices have closed and I have been transferred from 3 different offices. my most recent appoitments have been cancelled from private phone numbers without giving me the ability to reschedule them as they claimed the employees were sick or they made a mistake in scheduling. I have been trying to call back to reschedule my appointment at any and all nyc locations and every phone number possible is now out of service. I can not even reach them, nor have they returned my call to offer me a refund on the unearned part of my package, of which I paid around $3,000 for.Desired Settlement: Refund for the 4 sessions that I have been unable to fufill.

Review: I signed up with Laser Cosmetica for laser acne treatment based on my dermatologists suggestion. I signed up to receive 19 treatments that were at a sale price of $4,000. Laser Cosmetica suggested that I finance the treatments with the health care financing company [redacted]. They took a voided copy of my check and told me that I would be signed up for monthly automatic deposits of $150. I found out that they never passed my account information to [redacted] and that my account had been charged off for non-payment to [redacted] debt collection agency. [redacted] informed me that I could not continue treatment until I had paid my balance in full. When I went to verify the information with Laser Cosmetica in October 2014 I found that they company no longer existed and I could not get an address or phone number to reach the company. I now still owe $3,000 to [redacted] and was only able to receive one treatment from Laser Cosmetica before they disappeared. I should not be paying for services that I cannot receive, especially when it was the fault of Laser Cosmetica that I defaulted on my financing payments.Desired Settlement: I wish to be refunded the money that I already paid to [redacted] and [redacted] for services that I have not received and I want my balance with [redacted] to be paid for by the company or erased. I also want the negative reporting on my credit score and history to be reversed.

Review: I have purchased a package for laser hair removal and have been a customer of [redacted] in [redacted] for years. I still have services that I have paid for and not received and also my contract included a lifetime guarantee. The [redacted] office has since closed and I was told by the manager to go to the [redacted] or [redacted] office. I have tried calling all the offices and keep getting the answering service that has no information. I have been told that two more locations have closed and that the only office open is [redacted]. I have called and left several messages at the corporate office and no one is calling me back. I would like a refund for the services that I have not received or I want Sleek to fulfill their contract and finish the laser treatments that I have already paid for. I filed a previous complaint and then the company opened as a new name, first it was [redacted] and then that closed and reopened as Laser Cosmetica. All companies are closed and I still have services that I paid for, I would like a refund. Thank you.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the laser treatments and microderm treatments that I was unable to use.

Sincerely,

Review: This location was the first location I received my laser hair removal treatment, and where I was signed up for a payment plan through my bank. I was given very limited and vague billing information. For example, I wasn't told the name of the loan provider. I was just asked what my bank was, and I did realize that I was getting billing statements because I didn't know the name. I receive mail from my bank on different service and product offers, as well as from other banks so I need more specific information to know what to look for. I was only given one form that was, at the very least, a receipt for the purchase without information about the payment plan, which they signed me up for using the information I provided, but I did not receive any documents of confirmation or explanation of the payment plan. I was also told that I wouldn't have to start making immediately, I had 30 days, but had no information on what date that begins. And to make matters worse, this office closed soon after I began treatment, and the following office did not have my information available. In December my "promotional plan" of paying $2500 in 18 months with no interest expired 12/**/12 on my billing statement, but I still had a remaining balance of only $140 I would have paid if I thought I still had a month left of my plan because of the misinformation I was given about the start of my plan. I have kept up my financial responsibility and the business should kept up their duty to provide their customer with the best information, which includes their payment options.Desired Settlement: I refuse to pay the interest fees because of the negligence on the behalf of the office that handled my payment plan application. I have purposely avoid finishing my treatment because of this matter, and if the company refuses to pay the fees, I would like a refund for the remainder of my treatment to pay for the fees myself. I also request that the company create new guidelines when using clients information to apply for loans, and take more care and responsibility for the accounts created, especially when someone's credit is on the line. The last issue I had with this business that also had to do with the loan provider took months to finally resolve after I realized I need to go to extra measures and file a compliant with the Revdex.com. I was very satisfied with the outcome of that issue and I hope that filing compliant will provide me with the same support.

Sincerely,

Review: I purchased 2 packages from Laser Cosmetica earlier this year, one in January of 2013 for 10 sessions of laser hair removal for my underarms and one in May 2013 for laser hair removal from my legs totaling $2,403.50. I received one treatment under my arms and one treatment on my legs. I scheduled an appointmet to go back in for my 2nd of 10 treatments on both areas and when I arrived at the office I was told bu the doorman that the office had closed. I called another location of Laser Cosmetica and they said yes the office had closed and apologized no one called me to let me know prior to my appointment but that I could schedule an appointment at another location. This occured on June **, 2013. Skin cannot be exposed to the sun after laser treatment so I waited until September 2013 to try to schedule my next appointment so that my skin was no longer tanned from the sun. When I tried to schedule an appointment at another location I realized that now all locations are closed with no contact or forwarding number.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund on my credit card in the amount of $2163.15 which covers the remaining 9 visits on each package purchased.

I have disputed the charge with my Credit Card company and am waiting to see if the charges will be waived.

Sincerely,

Review: I started undergoing treatment on the face in 2010 with Laser Cosmetica. During my consultation, I was told that I would be undergoing treatment for 6 sessions, and for a period of 3 years - as needed (starting after the last session of the first 6). I started my sessions, and was undergoing treatment, but not seeing significant results. I paid around $1000.00 for the package that just included my face. As I went away to college, I could not put the 3 year period on hold. I could not access treatments as easily. Also, there were instances when I would show up to their locations and it turned out that they had closed down. They would not even call me that they switched locations, and I would find out once I reached there. Their location was a main factor in terms of choosing their services, and then I was stuck going to their Great Neck location, which was twice as far for me. I was never told that hormonal changes would affect the growth of hair. They insisted that I get them checked, and I did. It turns out that my hormone levels were normal. I was never told that this laser treatment was not considered a permanent solution. It was advertised as total hair elimination. Right now, I have rapid hair growth on my face, it is growing back much more than its presence originally.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back. I was patient and followed all of their directions, but got no results. They essentially stole $1000.00 and wasted so much of my time.

Sincerely,

Review: I was initially introduced to Laser Cosmetica in 2010. I bought a promotional deal for 6 laser hair removal sessions for a "small" area and redeemed it in March of 2011. I believed I would see results from the sessions and the staff was friendly and persuaded me to purchase additional service--I proceeded to purchase $1300 worth of services. My first 6 sessions went very smoothly but in 2012 I had a began having issues confirming appointment times because there was was construction in the [redacted] office. In 2013 it was nearly impossible to get an appointment and even contact anyone that worked at Laser Cosmetica. I believe they renamed and tried to re-brand the company as "[redacted]" however consumer service was non-existent and when I occasionally was able to reach someone on the phone I was told I would receive a call back regarding my remaining services--but the call never came. Laser Cosmetica still owes multiple sessions on both "large" and "medium" body areas. It's been about a year that I've been trying to reach someone from the company, I went to 2 locations that Laser Cosmetica used to occupy and they were not to be found, also the new occupants had no information about Laser Cosmetica. I would like to be delivered the service I purchase, if that is not possible then I should be refunded the value of the services that were not rendered to me. I hope the Revdex.com can help! I've put too much time and effort into chasing these scammers down, with no results.Desired Settlement: My first preference would be to receive the sessions I paid for as I saw very good results from the laser services I was rendered. If that is not possible then I would like to receive a refund for services not rendered to me.

Review: I received a call from a rep, at Laser Cosmetica, stating I have won a free treatment. Earlier in the month, I attended a Girls Night Out event in NYC and left my contact info at their booth. I then scheduled an appointment for the free session, for March **, 2013, at 5:30pm at their [redacted] location on the East side. When I arrived there, I met with a woman named [redacted], who said she was the [redacted] We went into an office, where we discussed the treatments I was interested in. I said I was interested in hair removal for my underarm and bikini area. She said she could offer that to me for approximately $1000 and she would also throw in free sessions for other treatments like microdermabrasion and laser/chemical peel, not including the session I was receiving on this day. I thought it was too expensive, but said I would think about it, she then said that no matter what I decided, I would still be able to receive the free session I had won, with no strings attached. She proceeded to talk to me about their payment options, as I was not prepared to pay upfront for all the services. [redacted], she asked for my ID and SSN# so she could check what I qualify for, I agreed and gave her my info, she then came back and told me that I was approved for $4,000 by Duvera Financial. I signed a receipt, stating the services I signed up for, then [redacted] turned me over to a [redacted], with whom I made an appointment for the first session. I asked if I was not going to get treated and she said it was late that we would do it next time, so I scheduled an appointment for the following week, and officially never received my ‘free’ session as I had just put myself $4,000 in debt for this.

I attended 2 session over the following 2 months, and one day got a call from one of the workers saying they had decided to close the [redacted] office, and whether I preferred the [redacted] or [redacted] office to continue my treatments. I said the [redacted] as it was closer to my job and made an appointment for 2 weeks later, as it was the next available with my hectic school and work schedule. A few days before my appointment they called and said they had to reschedule because the machine was broken and needed to be repaired, I rescheduled it is now early September I believe and my appointment was coming up but I couldn’t make it. After calling for days and leaving messages, I found a 1-800 number online which I called and the girl on the phone gave me the right office number as ‘I was calling the wrong one’ I called and no answer, left a message and never got a call back, called again about a week later and finally got through and scheduled my appointment for the following week, and finally got treated. On my way out I schedule an appointment for mid oct (6 weeks later) and due to an upcoming test, I tried to reschedule but never got to speak to anyone, since then I have been calling from time to time, because I keep paying every month but I am not getting any more treatments. . Now, it is almost July and I have not been able to contact them as all of their numbers are out of service and they seem to have closed down, and I am stuck having to pay a $4,000 loan for services not rendered.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a refund and for my loan to be terminated as another 8 months of payments are still pending and I should not have to pay form something I am not getting. I have reached out to Duvera Financial via email and I am awaiting a response from them.

I have been put through too much trouble and money and have gotten close to nothing in return.

Review: Laser Cosmetica is a scam. The company has changed its name to Medspa, another generic title the founders hope will keep the company from being sued in a class-action lawsuit. After 12 treatments by Laser Cosmetica/Medspa "clinicians" -- women who have little to no training in hair removal -- clients can expect to see little hair loss. After one treatment at a doctor's office in Washington, DC, on the other hand, almost half the hair on my legs is gone. The dermatologist who is treating me in Washington is curious to know what kind of laser Laser Cosmetica/Medspa used. She has never seen such a poor job of laser hair removal. The Laser Cosmetica/Medspa lasers do not work, and the people operating them are untrained. Yet they refuse to offer a refund. Company representatives at Laser Cosmetica/Medspa will try to sell clients additional products that don't work, rather than replacing their equipment and hiring better-trained clinicians. It is also difficult to schedule appointments and the equipment malfunctions force cancellations. This company is certainly not what it advertises, and should be held accountable for the thousands of dollars it has extorted from clients.Desired Settlement: I spent $4,000 on Laser Cosmetica/Medspa treatments to get rid of the hair on my legs. I would like a full refund.

Sincerely,

Review: I had been going to Laser Cosmetica to receive laser hair removal services for 2 years (for 1 round of treatments - full body); and then, needed more treatments, so, in December of 2012, I was offered a deal to purchase another round of 6 full-body touch-up treatments (to be used over 3 years), which also gave me a $1000 gift card credit to use at the facility for whatever other treatments I wanted. Now, the business appears to have abruptly closed, with no notification to me whatsoever (I found out only as I tried calling to make my next appointment), and I only received 2 of my 6 laser treatments, and never got to use my $1000 gift card credit.Desired Settlement: I would either like a refund, or to have the job finished - to have the rest of my treatments, including the $1000 credit use honored.

Response:

Hi [redacted],

Thank you so much for your prompt response. I was receiving the treatments directly from Laser Cosmetica, which is the company I purchased the service package(s) from. The last treatment I had received was before the summer (as one cannot receive laser treatments on tanned skin). I tried calling about 7 different phone numbers for the company today (to make my next appointment), but they are all out of service, and their webpage is not working, so I can only assume they have closed the company (with no notice).

Thank you.

I was told that there was perhaps another business that may be honoring outstanding services for former customers of Laser Cosmetica - is this still the case?

thank you!

Sincerely,

Review: Laser Cosmetica coerced me into purchasing a package of laser treatments under the presumption I would be able to receive treatments as described when purchased. Shortly thereafter, I desired to start using the services I paid for and was unable due to multiple cancellations from staff changes by Laser Comestica. This lead to me requesting a refund which I was informed by the manager would be issued in 4-6 weeks. More then two months went by, I was informed Laser Comestica was now going by TrueBody MedSpa but my refund would still be issued shortly. I have numerous emails confirming the facts stated above. It is now going on 6 months and all I desire is the refund of my $1,400 for services never rendered and agreed to be refunded.Desired Settlement: I would like a prompt refund of my $1,400 agreed to be refunded by Laser Cosmetica, which I have been waiting 6 months for.

Sincerely,

Review: The location in question has closed their doors without any notice given. I tried to call other locations to book an appointment, but none of the phone numbers are working. I keep getting "number not in service". My problem with this is, I purchased 3 laser services and paid upfront for all 3 totaling in over $2,500.Desired Settlement: I would like to get a refund of all 3 services I paid for.

Review: About a year ago I signed up for a loan for new treatments. Out of the package I have only received a 2 skin tightening treatments and 2 microdermabrasion treatments. Sometime in April was my last treatment and that day I could not get treated for one of the treatments because the machines were not available for use. Til this day some of the machines are still not available for use. I called as suggested by Laser Cosmetica other locations to set up appointments, but the couple of times I have called they have not answered my calls. It is an inconvenience and truly unacceptable as I client I do not know if they are still in business and giving me the round around. I have emailed the office manager and left my phone number and I still have not heard from them. I have been up to date with my payments to Fortiva since March to May I have paid about $640 to Fortiva servicing and I have not received any treatments. I do not think it is fair for me to continue paying for treatments I have not received.Desired Settlement: I wish to no longer continue with any kind of services from Laser Cosmetica. Overall, am not looking to get a refund for money I have paid for and for the services I have not received. I have a remaining balance with Fortiva Servicing that I wish to cancel because I no longer wish to continue to pay for something that am not receiving. As a Client am unsatisfied with the service. I do not want my Credit to suffer because of this situation.

Review: I purchased a package from Laser Cosmetica, and they shut down without performing the services I paid for, or any notification. They did this once with Sleek MedSpa. I also had purchased Lifetime packages via Sleek, which I was still receiving (but had to pay an extra $100/visit) at Laser Cosmetica.Desired Settlement: $1500 or to be able to finish my services

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Laser Cosmetica regarding complaint ID [redacted], however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I received the following email from Laser Cosmetica:

"Unfortunately, since the company is no longer operating, there is no way to provide a refund."

Review: I purchased many hair removal packages with Laser Cosmetica from 2007-2013. The contract clearly stated that customers who buy packages are not charged PER SESSION, but instead until the desired RESULT is achieved. I've been going to them for 5 years for laser hair removal. Went to 4 different locations and tried all the different machines they have. Only 2 out of 4 Areas of the body I purchased had a response. They kept pushing to buy more and more "touch-up" packages, until I finally realized that their machines simply DO NOT work. In 2013 Laser Cosmetica suddenly gets bought out by another company called "Body Image" who are now refusing to honor the packages I bought from Laser Cosmetica! I was told they will only honor packages bought in 2012 and on. This is blatant robbery ! I want a refund for services not provided, which they also refuse to give.Desired Settlement: I'd like a refund for services not provided amounting in the sum of $2000.

Sincerely,

Review: I won a gift certificate to Laser Cosmetica through a Health & Wellness Fair at work and was urged to buy a full body laser hair removal package when I went in for my consultation. I took out a loan for $3000, which I paid off in full but was able to complete less than half of the laser hair removal treatments. There were very few appointments available and lots of conditions around the appointments. Earlier this month, I tried to book an appointment only to find that none of the phone numbers for this company worked. It seems they shut down, changed company names but never informed me. My hair has fully grown back and the treatments were useless.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the package I paid since I only received less than half of the services and the treatments did not work. Their customer service was horrible and I can't believe they would shut down and try to take off with my money after I paid upfront.

Review: I was receiving treatment for Laser Hair Removal on my face and was having no issues until a few months ago. A couple months before my prior prepaid treatments were finished I prepaid again for more treatments totaling $1050 which I financed through Fortiva. In March (just as my newly purchase treatments were about to start) the [redacted] location closed without noticed. I was told later they would be opening a new location in[redacted] and another in [redacted]....that never happened. I go to call their CS today and find out it is disconnected and their website gone and there email stopped. I was told by my Revdex.com to file my complaint under this address since there was none on the MA locations My Laser Cosmetica location was: [redacted]Desired Settlement: $1500 because the treatments I received prior have reversed because there newly purchased treatments were never received which in turn reversed the effects of the prior treaments

Review: I gave this company $800. $600 for a laser hair removal package for underarms and $200 credit towards a second package if needed or if not, microdermabrasion. This was fall of 2012. They up and closed in the middle of my treatment saying they would open a new location soon. Its been months, they haven't re-opened. Ive been emailing and calling and asking on their facebook page. I just want my money back so I can go elsewhere.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of my money!

Response:

At this time, I have not been contacted by Laser Cosmetica regarding complaint ID [redacted]. My parents are considering obtaining an attorney to file against Sleek MedSpa and Laser Cosmetica, as apparently 100's of people have been ripped off by this company. My mother spent triple what I did in the form of a $1,000 gift certificate and credit direct from Laser Cosmetica.

Sincerely,

Review: I have pre-paid the treatment package a while ago. The company has closed without notification and refund.Desired Settlement: Please refund the money for the services I did not receive.

Review: I receive laser hair removal services from Laser Cosmetica in NYC. From the beginning, I have had problems with their customer service policies ranging from misinforming me about payment plan options, not honoring requests for appointments with specific aestheticians, and lying about losing my file. I am filing this complaint though in regard to a more serious matter. At my last appointment, the aesthetician shaved an area on me before doing the laser treatment using a disposable razor supplied by Laser Cosmetica. When I got home I was in excruciating pain. When the pain did not go away I looked to see what the issue could be and realized that I had multiple cuts in the area where the procedure had been done. It was too late to call Laser Cosmetica as they were closed for the day. I made an appointment with my dermatologist and he told me that the cuts were not due to the laser as I had originally thought, but rather because they had used a bad razor on me, probably one that had a nick in it. When I called Laser Cosmetica and spoke with the manager on duty, [redacted], she did not apologize but rather she tried to tell me, without having seen the injuries, that my cuts must be only scratches. I told her that I wanted to speak with someone else since I did not feel she was handling this situation appropriately. Her response was to tell me that she didn't want to speak with me either. This is, unfortunately, not the first time I have had a problem with [redacted]. Someone named [redacted], allegedly a VP of clinic operations, finally called me and left a message. After twice attempting to track her down at various Laser Cosmetica locations with no response, and two weeks after receiving these lacerations, I am filing this complaint. I want to make clear that I do not hold the aesthetician responsible, as it is the management that creates these dangerous conditions by consistently overbooking clients, creating a dangerously chaotic environment for the staff and clients, and for using unsafe products.Desired Settlement: I would like an acknowledgement and apology for the lacerations I received as well as for the inconvenience and money required to see my private doctor. I would also like compensation of some form for my pain and for this inconvenience.
