Mrs [redacted] says she thinks she has more dryrot in the backI have her walk me around to show meAll the way around the back side, Mrs [redacted] point to an 4"x 12" OutriggerAnd sure enough the other one is rotted alsoI get the estimate back from Mrs [redacted] and add this work to the bottom as repair letter "C".I then add up all three task and have Mrs [redacted] initial the changeI showed her the Contract Provisions on the backside of her copyI tell Mrs [redacted] that we could start the next dayShe was happy about thatShe agrees with the Estimate price and everything I explained to herShe signs the contract and gives me 10% deposit. Now I never did get on this roof because the repairs Mrs [redacted] was asking for were all visible from the groundAnd if I don't have to walk on tile than I don'tTile is very brittle and I didn't want to cause more damage during these rainy days.My crew shows up the next day (4/7/16) to remove the gutters and prepare the edge for the new guttersAlso to bondo the three beamsMrs [redacted] meet my foreman thru the garage giggling and laughingShe laughed alot throughout the entire jobMrs [redacted] went inside and the work beganI had my crew remove the tarp to check for the leakCome to find out, there's no overhang or gutter on this dripedge above the leak in the wallWater may have been running in the top of the wallWe ended up adding 12" of gutter and a downpipe when the other gutters went up at NO extra cost. While working on the back slope by the chimney, my foreman smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the houseHe thought that was odd but now he understood why Mrs [redacted] was laughing and giggling so much throughout the jobTo each his ownWe're there to workSo he kept workingWhile working he noticed some cracked tileAbout cracked tilesHe called me to make the report of his findI told him that she never mentioned anything about cracked tile or any other leaksI told him to let her know about this and I'd be calling her with the "ADD-ON" cost.I called Mrs [redacted] to notify her of the additional costShe wasn't happy about the Aand wanted it repaired for freeI told her I couldn't repair that much for free and gave her my best price at costShe agreed and we then started the search for matching tile.On 04/11/we returned to replace the cracked tile and the gutters were installed the same day Mrs [redacted] signed the Aform when we arrivedOnce my crew was done, Mrs [redacted] walked around with my foreman and looked at the work completedHe explained that we'd be back the following Monday 04/14/to reinstall the first row of tile which we move for the gutter installation. We returned on Monday and reinstalled the tileMrs [redacted] walked around with my foreman and looked at the entire job (gutters, dryrot, etc..) and was very pleasedShe gave my foreman a cashier's check and they left.I get a call from Mrs [redacted] a week later and she says she thinks she has a leak in another areaI tell her that i'll put her on the schedule to go check it out the next dayI call her the next day before I go over thereShe answers and tells me that she's out walking and don't know when she'll be backShe explains where the possible leak is at and tells me to just go over there and lookI took a little extra time to get there hoping Mrs [redacted] would be back and could show me where she thought she had this new leak atShe never did show upI later notified her by phone that without removing the tile I wouldn't be able to tell what the problem was and I'd have to charge her for itShe now tells me that maybe there wasn't a leak after allThat she'll wait and keep an eye on itI did look around at the front of the house and garage when I stopped by her houseEverything still looked goodI didn't notice any dents in the gutters anywhereI noticed we missed priming one 3" x 6" raftertail but figured she'd have her painter touch it up when they repainted at the other raftertails..Five week latter I get a text message saying we left a dent in the gutter above the drivewayRight in the front of the houseMe and him had some small talkHe was asking about the downpipesIf he should stucco to them or could I come back and recut themI then told him that Mrs [redacted] was accusing us of leaving the gutter dented and if he knew anything about itAt this point Mrs [redacted] came out and seen that me and the contractor were talking and she walked awayBack into the houseThe contractor didn't want to talk about the gutterHe got real silent and acting preoccupiedI then knocked on the door inside the garage and after a long period of time Mrs [redacted] finally came outShe asked about the downpipes alsoI explained I might be able to recut the existing downpipes, since they were new, depending on how far the stucco came outI told her she should've told me she was going to stucco and I could've installed the downpipes after but ow i'd have to charge her for this workShe wasn't happy about thatShe walked over to the other contractor and tried to whisper "This isn't the guy to talk to about the downpipes".Then I told her after looking at the dent in the gutter which is in a highly traveled and visible area, that we didn't leave the job with the gutter dentedOur ladder was never in the gutter eitherIf she wanted, I'd try to push the dent out but it surely wouldn't make the dent disappearGutters don't always come back to form and I didn't want her thinking I could perform a miracleI told her the only way to get rid of the dent is to replace it and I'd only charge our minimum charge for gutters which is $She wasn't happy about that eitherI recommended that she call me back when the dowmpipes were ready to go back on the wall and I could combine the two repairs and give her a better priceShe replied, "NoNo thank youWe have a disagreementI will get someone else"I replied "OK", but if she changes her mind please give me a call""No we have a disagreement" and she walked in the house. We load up the step ladder and leftWhile driving on the freeway for a few miles I realized something above the gutter had caught my eyeI turn back around and pull back up to the houseSure enough there's a dead branch right above the dent in the gutterLooks like someone twisted the branch to brake it off because it was hanging down close to the new guttersI'll send photos in another email. Now I don't know if someone dented the gutter when braking the branch or if it was bumped by the new contractor working at Mrs***s houseBut this dent was not there when we completed the work for Mrs [redacted] five weeks prior or when I went back a week later or when she walked around the job with my ForemanWe were at this job site three different daysAnd for seven worker and/or Mrs [redacted] not to notice this dent for five weeks is really unbelievable to me.With all this being saidI'm willing to resolve this situationIf Mrs [redacted] is willing to withdraw her complaint to Revdex.com and to CSLB then we will be willing to replace the Front 23" of white 5" gutter at NO COSTI thank you for your time and respect your decisionPlease contact me at [redacted] or email me at [redacted] Sincerely, [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: The day he installed the skylight he was done by five the next morning the rain started that's all what I can say I never see the skylight clear to let him know if there was anything at that minute . On February I looked at the skylight and I saw the whole thing and the scratches and I took pictures and I called him he didn't respond immediately after three weeks he came down When he came down he looked at the skylight he said no I think there's a dirt on top of the skylight so he went up came down he said maybe it's from inside I said you know what I don't know you should know because it's not my job ,!!I showed him the pictures I showed him the scratches and he said no no it's not scratches it's maybe dirt? I told him that I waited for the second rain and the third drain and still I see the scratches he said you know what let me call the company itself because I have no idea He disappeared and I kept calling after three weeks he said me the brochures of that company and he said oh it's I said what about the scratches and he said oh after six months you don't expected glass to stay clean !! On his last letter he said he never saw the scratches and I did show him that one and I have it on a picture while he was there too When he first came with the insurance adjuster, he told me he can put exactly the same one I never met him before I never talk to him before so . Please excuse my English because English is my second language and if I said any bad word or anything skews me for that, thank you very much and please help me to stop such kind of people who want to get advantage of their customers ,

To Whom it may concern, This is the first notice I’ve received about this complaint, Just so you know that I wasn’t ignoring the situation. I was first called out to 61st Street on March by Mrs*** who stated she had a
leak in her dining roomI went out there the same day to take a look at itOnce I got there, I asked Mrs*** if I could see where the leak was showing up at on the ceilingMrs*** took me to the dining room and pointed to the ceiling about 6-feet from the outside wallI then went on the roof to take a look for the problemOnce on the roof, I noticed there were shingles disturbed around a pipe flashing and poor workmanship that might be the problemI went down and wrote up an estimateI gave Mrs*** an excellent repair price with 5% Senior discount alsoI then explained to Mrs*** what I had foundThat we’d have to remove some shingle to replace this pipe flashing, install New felt paper and New shinglesPlease understand that I don’t start removing shingles or pipe flashing when I first go out to do my estimateI have to rely on my years of finding different leaks and their causeAnd by looking at the condition of the roofIf there are more problems found by my crew then we’d explain it to the owner and give them the option of getting it repaired while we’re there at a cheaper cost. Now Mrs*** was very anxious to get the work done because she was leaving the country in a few daysI told her I could have my guys out there the next dayShe agreed and signed the contract. My crew showed up the next morningOne guy went on the roof and one guy went in the attic so they could perform a water test with the garden hoseThey started the water low on the slope and worked their way upWhen they put the water towards the pipe flashing, I suspected, it started to leakThey didn’t stop thereThey continued to put water on the rest of the slope and noticed it leaking in a different spot at the dormer ventIt was the roll seamNot visible by the eyeMy Foreman, Will, called me to report their findingsIt was a small leak and hadn’t showed up thru the sheetrock yet but we wanted to make Mrs*** aware if this additional problem. I called Mrs*** to notify her and tell her it would be an additional $if she wanted this repaired also$for a leak repair is a very good priceSince we were there already I wasn’t trying to charge her too muchMrs*** had a fit and was complaining that she couldn’t afford itI explained that I have to purchase a New dormer vent and shingle it in if she wanted this repaired alsoAfter realizing she wasn’t going to be satisfied, I then told her that I’d only charge her for the cost of the material itselfWhich came up to $I wouldn’t charge her for the labor costSo I typed up an Aand had her sign it. After my crew was finished making both repairs, they looked around the other slopes of the roof out of curiosity and noticed more potential problemsThe pipe flashings were sealed with masticThis isn’t the proper way to roof these pipe flashings inThey made Mrs*** aware of these potential problems before leavingShe didn’t want to do anything about themMrs*** called the office and gave me a credit card number for the repair amount and the Acost. A week later on March 2016, Mrs*** calls to says the roof is still leakingI told her that I’d come out there the next dayShe tells me she’s leaving the country the next day on a cruiseThat’s as soon as I could get there and I need to see inside where the leak is showing up atMrs*** arranges for her daughter to be there to show me the leak. When I get there the daughter shows me a leak in the kitchenI then show the daughter my diagram and tell her the leak was in the dining room last time I was thereShe hesitates and acted like she didn’t know what I was talking aboutThen she says, “it could be leaking from the same place as last time then”, I explained this leak was under a different slope and couldn’t come from the same spot we worked onShe then said, “Ya, it’s leaking there too”, pointing to the original leak areaI told her that we’d have to come back then and do another water test for the leak in the dining room and the leak in the kitchen would most likely be an extra chargeI went on the roof and confirmed the pipe flashings in this new area were sealed with mastic which was cracked openI relayed that to the daughter. The daughter then tried to call her Mom but got no answerShe said she was probably on an airplane and didn’t have her phone onI told the daughter to have her Mom call me when she got back to schedule us to come backI made a note that Mrs*** would call when she was availableI left and never heard from Mrs*** againMrs*** never did call back to schedule anther water test when she returned to the satesIt has rained sixteen days since March 9th 2016.This are the events as I recall themIf you have any questions, Please call me at *** or emailI respect any decision you should makeI’d also like to Thank You in advance for taking the time to resolve this matter. Sincerely *** *** Owner

MrBernardino and Bernardino Roof take each and every complaint very seriousAt this time in an effort to settle this matter MrBernardino said if Mrs*** wants to install a new glass upgraded sky light that he will install it for free and Pay $of the cost of the SkylightIf she is willing to accept that I will find out the price of a glass skylight. Thank you, Respectfully *** ***

The skylight that was installed is the exact same skylight that Mrs*** had Bernardio roofing removeI took a picture of the existing skylight when I was first asked to replace itI sent the picture to Erik at Lane aire, my skylight distributor to confirm he could supply me with the exact same
skylightHe confirmed and I gave Mrs*** an estimate to replace the skylight and do other repairs to her roofThe skylight was shipped out to Mrs***’s home in a completely covered crateWe cut the crate open and inspected the skylightAfter installing the skylight we had Mrs*** look at itShe confirmed everything looked goodThe only issue she had was she wanted us to sand the wood walls where the water has stained the sides below the skylightI told her we don’t do that type of workWhen we left the house, Mrs*** was happy and expressed no other concernsAbout six month later after a wet and windy weather I heard from Mrs***, during the most busiest time of the seasonMrs*** told me the skylight was scratched and had moisture between the dual paneI told her I was about three weeks out before I could come outWhen I did go out there, I couldn’t see any scratches and I told Mrs***But I did see a little area of condensation about the size of a silver Dollar on the shaded side of the domeI told her that I’d check into it and get back to herI contacted my skylight distributor and told him about the moisture between the panesIt took some time before he got back to meErik, the distributor sent me a brochure which states you may see condensation thru lighter colors lensesBut the moisture will drain thru the designed weep holesThe skylight doesn’t leak into the house at all This skylight is exactly is exactly the same as we removedThank you Respectfully *** Bernardino

To whom it may concern, I was first called out to 8787 Sunset  Ave in December 2012 to look at a leak coming thru the A/C return. Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] requested a repair to be done.  We then  did a Composition repair around the A/C base flashing. It...

wasn't until May 16 2014 that I heard from them again. This time they requested a Reroof estimate because they were having trouble around the A/C unit again and the roof was very old. They called me back on May 22, 2014 to sign the contract. We then did the Reroof on May 30, 2014- June 2, 2014.             After the first rain in August 4th and 5th, Mrs. [redacted] called to say the roof leaked at the A/C return again. I personally went out there and took the roof apart to see if there was something wrong with the way my crew installed the roof.  I didn't see anything out of the ordinary and reroofed the area. In the middle of November, Mrs. [redacted] calls again to say the roof was leaking in the same spot. I made an appointment with her that day. Myself and one of my workers went out to the [redacted]'s house and did a water test. I couldn't get anything at the roof level to leak. It wasn't until I wet the top of the A/C Downdraft duct plenum  that it started leaking. I could now see that the duct was rusted  and allowing the water thru the top side of the metal flashing.  I took pictures and showed Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] what I had found. I advised them that the leak is coming thru the plenum and not the roof. I explained that  we are not an  HVAC  company. We're not licensed to replace this duct work. Then in December, after several rain, Mrs. [redacted] calls again to say the roof is leaking in the same spot. Straight down the A/C return. I asked her if she had called the HVAC company to replace the plenum. She couldn't  recall the exact words to the  conversation we had the last time I was there doing the water test. I tried to explain it to her again. But she refused to understand. I then made an appointment with her to come out in a few days to look at it again and show her the pictures again. The very next day, Mrs. [redacted] calls to cancel our appointment. She stated that she understands what I was telling her and that they called an HVAC company to come out. I told her to let me know what they say and we'd go from there.        I never got a call back from Mr. or Mrs. [redacted] after that. Instead I received a letter from them, simultaneous to Revdex.com and CSLB, demanding payment from another roofing company. In closing I'd like to say. I responded to Mrs. [redacted]s calls every time in a timely manner. We made several attempts to find the problem. We were never told the roof was leaking inside of the cabinets. And in their own statement they state that I was willing to go out there and show them the problem again. But I never stated that I wouldn't do any repairs. Mrs. [redacted] is the one who cancelled our last appointment. They didn't comply with my suggestions to replace the plenum and instead called another roofing company to do a repair that hasn't been proven to have fixed the problem. I'd like to perform my own water test to be sure it solved the problem. I am also sending the Contract Provision the [redacted]s were given for the repair and the reroof. They have voided their warranty by have another company work on the roof. Unless my water test proves their repair fixed the leak. I'd also like to add that we are a Quality company who has held an  A+ rating with Revdex.com for 11 years. We honor this rating and are appauld  that someone of a Military background would try to attack us  after we continually responded to Mrs. [redacted]s calls.   Respectfully [redacted] ###-###-####

To Whom it may concern, This is the first notice I’ve received about this complaint, Just so you know that I wasn’t ignoring the situation.  I was first called out to 5101 61st Street on March 8 2016 by Mrs. [redacted] who stated she had a...

leak in her dining room. I went out there the same day to take a look at it. Once I got there, I asked Mrs. [redacted] if I could see where the leak was showing up at on the ceiling. Mrs. [redacted] took me to the dining room and pointed to the ceiling about 6-8 feet from the outside wall. I then went on the roof to take a look for the problem. Once on the roof, I noticed there were shingles disturbed around a pipe flashing and poor workmanship that might be the problem. I went down and wrote up an estimate. I gave Mrs. [redacted] an excellent repair price with 5% Senior discount also. I then explained to Mrs. [redacted] what I had found. That we’d have to remove some shingle to replace this pipe flashing, install New felt paper and New shingles. Please understand that I don’t start removing shingles or pipe flashing when I first go out to do my estimate. I have to rely on my years of finding different leaks and their cause. And by looking at the condition of the roof. If there are more problems found by my crew then we’d explain it to the owner and give them the option of getting it repaired while we’re there at a cheaper cost.  Now Mrs. [redacted] was very anxious to get the work done because she was leaving the country in a few days. I told her I could have my guys out there the next day. She agreed and signed the contract.  My crew showed up the next morning. One guy went on the roof and one guy went in the attic so they could perform a water test with the garden hose. They started the water low on the slope and worked their way up. When they put the water towards the pipe flashing, I suspected, it started to leak. They didn’t stop there. They continued to put water on the rest of the slope and noticed it leaking in a different spot at the dormer vent. It was the roll seam. Not visible by the eye. My Foreman, Will, called me to report their findings. It was a small leak and hadn’t showed up thru the sheetrock yet but we wanted to make Mrs. [redacted] aware if this additional problem.  I called Mrs. [redacted] to notify her and tell her it would be an additional $100.00 if she wanted this repaired also. $100.00 for a leak repair is a very good price. Since we were there already I wasn’t trying to charge her too much. Mrs. [redacted] had a fit and was complaining that she couldn’t afford it. I explained that I have to purchase a New dormer vent and shingle it in if she wanted this repaired also. After realizing she wasn’t going to be satisfied, I then told her that I’d only charge her for the cost of the material itself. Which came up to $56.25. I wouldn’t charge her for the labor cost. So I typed up an ADD-ON and had her sign it.  After my crew was finished making both repairs, they looked around the other slopes of the roof out of curiosity and noticed more potential problems. The pipe flashings were sealed with mastic. This isn’t the proper way to roof these pipe flashings in. They made Mrs. [redacted] aware of these potential problems before leaving. She didn’t want to do anything about them. Mrs. [redacted] called the office and gave me a credit card number for the repair amount and the ADD-ON cost. A week later on March 14 2016, Mrs. [redacted] calls to says the roof is still leaking. I told her that I’d come out there the next day. She tells me she’s leaving the country the next day on a cruise. That’s as soon as I could get there and I need to see inside where the leak is showing up at. Mrs. [redacted] arranges for her daughter to be there to show me the leak.  When I get there the daughter shows me a leak in the kitchen. I then show the daughter my diagram and tell her the leak was in the dining room last time I was there. She hesitates and acted like she didn’t know what I was talking about. Then she says, “it could be leaking from the same place as last time then”, I explained this leak was under a different slope and couldn’t come from the same spot we worked on. She then said, “Ya, it’s leaking there too”, pointing to the original leak area. I told her that we’d have to come back then and do another water test for the leak in the dining room and the leak in the kitchen would most likely be an extra charge. I went on the roof and confirmed the pipe flashings in this new area were sealed with mastic which was cracked open. I relayed that to the daughter. The daughter then tried to call her Mom but got no answer. She said she was probably on an airplane and didn’t have her phone on. I told the daughter to have her Mom call me when she got back to schedule us to come back. I made a note that Mrs. [redacted] would call when she was available. I left and never heard from Mrs. [redacted] again. Mrs. [redacted] never did call back to schedule anther water test when she returned to the sates. It has rained sixteen days since March 9th 2016.This are the events as I recall them. If you have any questions, Please call me at [redacted] or email. I respect any decision you should make. I’d also like to Thank You in advance for taking the time to resolve this matter. Sincerely [redacted]          Owner

I'm GETTING MY NOTES IN ORDER AND WILL RESPOND SOON. THANK YOU

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
I spoke to the owner, [redacted] today and he agreed to settle the matter.  He scheduled the fix for Monday, 6/20/2016.Upon completion I can let you know.

As stated in our original letter, [redacted] Roofing was contracted to re-roof our home in May 2014. We based our decision primarily on the satisfactory repairs initially completed by him in 2012 when he found where the roof was leaking around the flashing of our HVAC unit. Later rains resulted in some additional leaking, which my husband (who was physically able to gain access to roof at that time) used some spray-on-sealant on every inch of flashing, as well as other areas he considered suspect. This includes adding roofing nails to any tiles that looked loose. At that time, we knew a re-roof was inevitable; we were simply trying to delay the job until we had funds available to have the work completed. That was done in 2014. I do not question that a water test was done on the completion of roof install, but I do not recall it as a fact. The first rainfall after the re-roof, the roof leaked - at the same location as in 2012, which should have not done with the re-roof. Mr. [redacted] did respond to our phone call to come out and fix it. At that time, he took photos on his cell phone and told us that the problem was with the HVAC flashing, and that we needed to contact our contractor, Bell Brothers, to "fix the problem"; that it really wasn't an issue with the roof. This made no sense to me, nor my husband, but I did contact Bell Brothers and asked the question. Since they inspect our HVAC unit at least twice a year, when I asked about leakage after having the home re-roofed I was told any leakage should be repaired by the roofer. Where it was leaking due to incorrect reattachment of the HVAC unit by the roofer, and not due to any damage or fault of the HVAC unit itself. Other roofing contractors that I called to ask about the issue confirmed that the problem had to be a result of incorrect sealing from the re-roof.With the next rain, and the next leak, I again contacted Mr. [redacted] about the problem. He offered to come back out, and take more pictures to show us again where the HVAC unit was leaking. The fact that the water was coming down the HVAC return was "proof" that the problem wasn't with the roof, it was the HVAC. The resulting conversation of this phone call resulted in Mr. [redacted] feeling insulted and "disrespected" by my husband when [redacted] told him that looking at a mini-picture of the flashing didn't prove it wasn't leaking; and [redacted] responding with temper that Mr. [redacted] was disrespecting him in his assumption that we were incapable of having any knowledge of roofing, and proper sealing. So, yes, I did tell Mr. [redacted] to schedule a time to come out and take additional pictures. He stated he would call back with a day and time. I finally received a message from him later that day ( I had other appointments and after 4 hours had left the home to keep them). The message was in a few days he would be able to stop by and show us photos again. After a few days, we were just done.It was when we called another roofer out to inspect the problem that we found where water had come into the cabinetry - and we pointed it out to him. Had we noticed the problem earlier with Mr. [redacted], it would have been noted; but it was in an area that we do not access often - and it was only by luck that we found the problem. A & R Roofing came out, gave us his evaluation of the problem along with an estimage. We accepted his bid, and had the work done the next day. His water test lasted more than 30 minutes - he even covered an additional area that he didn't like the look of (that wasn't in the original scope) and water tested again. No leakage - anywhere. That is when I called Mr. [redacted] and told him to not bother to come by - the work had been done. All I requested from Mr. [redacted] the cost of the repairs. By all concerned in his industry, there should have been no leak after his work was done. And by inspection by Bell Brothers of our HVAC unit, there is not rust or any need to replace any part of the HVAC at this time.Mr. [redacted] feels "appalled" that someone of a military background would "try to attack him"? This shows his distain of his customers, espeically a disabled veterans whose body is no longer able to fix a problem already resolved before [redacted] Roofing took the old roof off, detached the flashing and relative HVAC parts from the roof, and then did not seal them correctly. In a military tow, that response could have resulted in being reported to the I.G. Office, leading to being black-listed from being able to do any work for any military personnel.Respectfully,[redacted]
