LeafFilter North of Pennsylvania Reviews (%countItem)

I purchased a house that had gutters that were unleveled, leaking and in need of cleaning. LeafFilter had reached out and told me that they would clean, level and, seal the gutters, install downspout extensions from my upper roof to my lower roof gutter. I figured they are a large service and the added protection would keep me protected, so I purchased the product. They sent someone from Seamless Gutters LLC to do the work. It was 1 guy and he performed the work while I wasn't home, finance was. I got home to find the downspout extensions were not installed and that several of the gutter corners still leaked. I got on the roof and found that several shingles had been ripped off just leaving the roof paper exposed. Grabbing a hose I confirmed that the corners were not sealed, and the gutters were not leveled, water puddled in the corners and dripped. I contracted the installer and he told me he forgot to bring the supplies for the downspout extensions and asked if he could come back the next day. He was just going to not do the work. I decided to check his work, the extra hidden support hangers were not installed and most of the gutters weren't even cleaned. The installer put the guards on and left. that was all he did. I contacted my sales rep and they said they would have it fixed the next day and someone new would come out. They sent the same guy out, they assumed I wouldn't know but my finance was home and met with him. I stayed out with him the entire time, he had no idea what he was suppose to be doing. I asked about leveling and he said he eyed it and it looked fine. I asked about sealing he said he did all the corners. I knew he was lying so I took him over to a lower gutter and grabbed the yard hose and watered the roof. The corner leaked and there was standing water. I was told that he must have missed that gutter. I asked about the downspout extensions and he did a 1 foot extension from my lower level to the garage. This is not what was suppose to be done. I was told that he didn't have supplies to do the upper levels and it wasn't in the contract. I asked him if he really sealed all the other corners and leveled them and he just kept saying yes. Then he got his truck and left. We had rain that night and sure enough water is puddling in the gutter corners and dripping out. He just didn't do the work. I tried to get in touch with the sales rep without success. I opened a support claim with LeafFilter and have not heard anything. This service is not cheap, thousands of dollars and they do not seem to care about you as the customer. This has been a terrible experience and I would not recommend this company.

Mr. Anuszewski,
First and foremost I apologize you are experiencing this. We have a Service request opened here at the Corporate office. The local Management team should be contacting you to schedule Service. If you should need anything else please reach us at the Service Department ***.

We signed a contract with LeafFilter to install a gutter protection system on May 7th 2018 in addition of the system the work included repairs to gutters and downspouts, add missing down spouts, clean and realign gutters. The installation was completed on May 8th 2018. By May 10th it had rained and the system failed, the reason to install the system is to prevent the gutters from clogging, however the system itself has the same impact as clogged gutters and worse. The system is not compatible with our house, the water cascades over the gutters instead of going in, there are numerous areas where the water comes off the roof like a water spout, and is causing flooding at the foundation of my house, especially at the front door which cannot be use when it rains. In addition to the system not working, the repairs to the gutters were not completed, and the new downspouts are damaged. I called LeafFilter constantly from 5/11/18 on, I did not get 1 return phone call, finally on one of my calls an appointment was made for an inspection the system on June 6th. When LeafFilter came to “inspect” the system, I showed them video’s and pictures of what happens when it rains showing them the system does not work, the repairs were not completed and the downspouts are damaged. I told the tech I would like the system removed a full credit for the cost. Instead LeafFilter added some type of flaps to gutters, without my permission, as a matter of fact I was following the technician and kept telling the tech not to add flaps, however he installed anyway, stating his manager Rene told him to and I was not authorized to tell him what to do. The flaps did not resolve the issue it actually made the problem worse, the water spouts turned into waterfalls and the flooding was worse, and the rest of the issues were ignored. Again I started calling them, finally I spoke with Wayne B, he said he would look into a solution, we went back and forth after 2-3 weeks the last time I spoke with Wayne, he advised he was not able to find a solution, I again asked for the system to be removed and a full credit be given, his response was he will escalate to corporate and Mike P phone will contact me. Mike called approximately 3 weeks later, however he was not calling because this was escalated he was calling because he received a call from the credit company advising him I was disputing the charges. Again I went over the problems asking the system be removed and be given a credit, he said he would get back to me, the last week in July Mike finally called he proposed to install new gutters and an updated system. After discussing with my husband, we had many concerns that the system still would not work, an appointment to discuss issues and concerns was to be made, that never happened. August 13-15 was the next time I spoke with Mike P, I advised him I have a medical emergency that I have to take care of so this issue needs to be resolved ASAP. I told him this has been going on since May 11th and since LeafFilter has not been able to resolve this in a timely manner, or even be available to discuss and since we do not have a lot of time, and that the issues with the system is not disputed by LeafFilter, I suggested we do what I have been asking since May 11th and that is to remove the system and remove the charges on my account. I asked him to advise of LeafFilter’s response ASAP. I have left several messages the last one being 8/27/18 asking for LeafFilter to respond and have not heard from LeafFilter since. I received a letter from the credit company stating my dispute has been denied because Mike P told them he offered new gutters and that I refused. This did not happen, I tried again to reach out to Mike, the last call was on 10/2/18.

We contracted with *** and *** on 5/7/2018 to install LeafFilter gutter protection on the existing gutters on the customers home. We executed the contract and the customer signed off payment through a third party lender signifying project completion on 5/8/18.The customer then called in to report a service concern on 5/22/18. ON 6/6 /2018 we provided service for the customer at which time the customer requested us to remove the product and refund the contract price well outside of the recession period provided by the contract. Since that time we have been working with the customer to find a resolution acceptable to both parties. To date we have offered to the customer to return to service and correct any issues they are experiencing, the customer declined. We offered to replace the existing gutters on the home with larger gutters and no additional cost to allow for a higher capacity of water flow. One customer agreed but the other customer did not.The customer requested we participate in arbitration. We agreed to participate in arbitration but then the customer decided they didn’t want to do that.We have most recently offered to refund a large portion of the contract price. The customer refused. We are very interested in a resolution but have not hit on the right proposal to achieve that goal. At this point the customer has not countered any proposal we have presented.Thank you,Michael *. PNational Director of Installation ServicesLeafFilter™ North

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Answered]

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: This system is defective it does not work on my house, the only resolution is to have it removed. I was already informed by upper management they cannot fix the problem. The only time I get someone from leaffilter to respond to my complaint is when the payment is disputed, they (Mike P) told the credit company I no longer wanted to dispute the charges, of course it was not true, and I again had to dispute the charges. I called Mike P from August to October with no response, in December once again when the charges are disputed prompted a phone call, his solution to refund part of the costs are not acceptable, I will not pay a thousand dollars and pay for someone to remove the system. The resolutions Mike P has offered are not reasonable. The system does not work on my house is causing damage, and he only responds when the fee is disputed. This company spoke to the credit company on my behalf (without my permission) and told they to put the charges through. They also added splash guards to my house, without my permission. They have been asked over and over to removed and they are still there. The splash guards made the issues worse and the flooding around my house worse. This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with and have not desire (7 months and a lot of abuse later) the only time the company responded to me was when I disputed the charges, the rest of the time I was ignored. they did not offer a refund till now. I was already told by them they cannot fix the problems. Most of what was said by Mike P to the response to my complaint is not true. I cannot keep going through this insanity with him any longer.

Regards

We believe resolution has been executed in full.

Leaf Filter Gutter Protection inspected my gutters before work was performed.
I was "not" told there would be an installation problem because I have 1/2 round gutters and they are attached to a brick facia. I was not told of any potential problem.
The Leaf Filters were installed, but have no pitch to them and therefore debris just sit on top and still needs to be hand cleaned.
The third-floor gutters do not have adequate space and rainwater flows over the gutter and leaks into my basement.
I called and a service man came and said there is nothing he could do. He informed that he could not even look at the third-floor gutters because he is not allowed to go over a certain height.
I did speak to a manager but all he could do is send someone out to clean the gutter but would charge me.
I have in my contract a lifetime, money back guarantee.
I paid a lot of money for this product but it is not performing the way it was demonstrated.
I would like it fixed right or they should honor their contract.

update; after being told by gutter inspector ,and two phone calls, 3weeks; I finally received my payment receipt. take nothing for granted.

Their sub-contractor installer did a sloppy clean-up job. I was collecting waste from installation, days after the rain storms. Always observe the installation process and clean-up.

We are sorry to hear of the customer's dissatisfaction with their installation experience. According to our notes, we did do a site visit on 6/15. If the customer has any further concerns with the installation, please reach out to our Service Department at 1-800-749-4566 and we will be happy to provide any assistance needed.

LeafFilter was installed last November 2017. We were told by sales rep they will flush the system to see if it’s working. It was never done & rain came and of course, gutter was overflowing and leaking everywhere. We called & they sent someone to check and we’re told it was the old roof. But now that we’ve replaced the roof it even got worst. It took them time to come over and inspected it. Now we were told that the filter was lifted. We again complained & the guy name Lou told us that the gutter needs to be replaced & they will reinstate the warranty for another price. We had someone independent check it out. The roof is new & gutter does not need to be replaced. They keep shifting the blame to others rather than fixing their subpar product which is leaking & dripping ever since the installation. We were better off before, all we need to do was cleaned the gutter twice a year. We wasted so much money & aggravation. It’s not worth. It was not what they say in their advertisement.

We have photos of the customer's installation that do show a new roof was installed after our original installation, which includes new dripedge. The gutters are now in a different position than before and their is some visual damage to the LeafFilter system. With that being said, we are more than willing to work with the customer to help her find a resolution. Customer has requested to observe the system's performance in another rain and we will follow up with her next week.

1. Installer did not have proper tool to connect one section of gutter top; I had to do it. 2. The gutter protectors actually block water from going into gutter. If there is debris, it collects on top of gutter and water pours over the edge onto my garden and patio. One reason I decided to buy this system was to prevent gutter clogging. It was demonstrated in the house where it worked fine, of course. I called the service number 3 times. They sent me a letter saying they tried to contact me 3 times, but if they did, they NEVER left a voice mail. I have a land line and also a cell phone. I don't believe they attempted to call. I called yesterday, 5/31/18. Woman on phone said she'd make another "ticket" and someone would call.

We visited the home on 6/6 and performed a follow up site visit. We inspected the system and found it to be installed properly. We performed a water test and found the system operating as designed. We did remove debris from that had Mother Nature had not yet self-cleared. Customer was home at time of service.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. That mentioned is fine. I just suggested the company inform people with oak trees that these trees drop something in Spring called catkins which get soft when wet and do lay over the holes on the gutter topper. I understand that they may not be aware of these little pests. So, the toppers need to be rinsed off end of May into June. Not so difficult unless you can't go on roof; I can't according to doctor...heart and back. So, I am stuck on that. Would help others to be aware. I thought being "tree" people (trees have leaves), they might know this.

One of my gutters was overflowing. I entered that information on *** and received a call from a salesman named Steve C from Leaf Filter. He came to the house and checked out the gutters. He said that the reason the gutter was overflowing was because it was not aligned properly. I agreed to have the gutters cleaned and realigned. I also signed up for having the gutters sealed and have brackets every 18 inches to reinforce the gutters. This was my mistake and I take responsibility for it. The total cost was $1230. It turns out that the downspout was blocked by a rubber ball which caused the gutter to overflow. Only one gutter needed to be realigned. Also because there are no large trees on my property there my gutters did not need to be cleaned. I feel that the sales person misrepresented the state of my gutters and the work needed to be done. I tried calling the company numerous times for two weeks. The first manager that I finally talked to said that he was Steve's brother and he was not pleasant. I requested a corporate manager. I then talked to the installation manager who said that it was a matter for the sales manager. That manager did not call me.
