Lehman's Garage, Inc. Reviews (49)

McCluskey Chevrolet typically requires that a customer come in to one of our convenient locations to pick up/receive the Visa card(s) that are promised to a customer so that appropriate paperwork can be signed for, and given to our accounting department.Based on the distance that this customer...

would need to travel in order to do this, we will be happy to mail the customer their Visa card(s). McCluskey Chevrolet is sending [redacted] a total of $50.00 in Visa cards in an effort to compensate for the slightly less than half tank of gas that was in her vehicle at the time of delivery, and her inconvenience. We appreciate and value [redacted] business with McCluskey Chevrolet.  We'd like to remind [redacted] that if she refers anyone to McCluskey Chevrolet that purchases, she will receive a total of $250.00 (for each customer), in McCluskey Bucks, to use at McCluskey Chevrolet, in any of our departments.

McCluskey sincerely apologizes for this oversight on our part, and it is not a common occurrence at our dealership. The Manager that pulled your credit was under the assumption that he had permission to process the app, and that a signed credit application had been completed by the customer allowing...

us to do so, which was not the case. Although we cannot eliminate what has already occurred, we can offer Ms. [redacted] the service of expunging those entries from her credit file with Transunion & Equifax. This process would require some participation from Ms. [redacted], and would take a few weeks to complete from an Equifax/Transunion standpoint. Ms. [redacted], in her Revdex.com response, can let us know if she'd like to go in this direction, and if so, we will reach out to her to get this implemented. Again, we sincerely apologize for not being more thorough in this regard, and this is a rare occurrence on our end.

[redacted] now has her vehicle back, and she has spoken with the Manager, [redacted] about the overall complaint/situation. As promised, we have had her vehicle evaluated, and a condition of her limited warranty with us on her used, higher mileage vehicle, was that the warranty would remain in full force and effect, if we, the issuing/involved party, performed the evaluation and possible ensuing repairs (if covered under her 24,000 mile/24 month warranty). When [redacted] was contacted by our repair facility, she admitted that she had taken her vehicle to another repair center prior to notification of the issues she was experiencing. We advised her that the issues she was experiencing with her vehicle were related to the work performed by that repair center, and therefore, she had to take her vehicle back to that repair facility for those issues. It was my understanding that [redacted] understood,, when speaking with Sales Manager [redacted], why this was the appropriate course of action in this regard.

We do not have a current approval for [redacted] under the terms and conditions of the loan she is referencing, and that she indicates that she would like to have. This is based upon what has been provided, or was not provided, and was a requirement of her lender, at that time. Although we have our collateral (vehicle) back in our inventory based on these factors, (an unfunded loan by the lender), [redacted] still has possession of our property, which is a set of keys for our vehicle. We have made  attempts to collect our property (keys), by McCluskey staff, she is refusing to turn over our keys to us, and refuses to answer her door in this regard. We wish [redacted] luck in the future with a vehicle purchase, but McCluskey is unable to accommodate [redacted] in this regard based upon her particular situation, and we do require/need the keys back to our vehicle.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  After sending the company a picture of the mailing of my name/address, which it previously denied having in its database, the company did not respond. I am still awaiting a response. I also would like to know what the company will be doing in the future to amend its marketing practices. A person should not have to resort to the Revdex.com to be removed from a mailing list.
Regards,
[redacted]

McCluskey Chevrolet apologizes for the inconvenience that [redacted] has experienced, as described by him.  We make every effort to always ensure that our Product Specialists and staff are well trained in every aspect of a sale, but there are times when we fall short of this goal, just like...

any person, or business does from time to time. We will continue to have high standards in place for our current and future customers in hopes that we can avoid similar situations occurring with any of our future sales or service customers. It is my understanding that we have purchased the vehicle back from [redacted] since the loan had already been funded by his lender, and [redacted] no longer has possession of the vehicle. McCluskey Chevrolet truly and sincerely cares about its past, present and future customers - as well as their overall experience with our dealership. Again, please accept our apologies on behalf of our dealership.

[redacted] has no customer files within our data base at McCluskey Chevrolet - I have double checked. [redacted] has no customer files within our service department's computer programs/customer files, we have double checked that as well. I have reached out to the vendor we use for mailings for...

our company, and they have indicated that although his name was not showing up for a mail piece to go to, that company has went ahead and removed his address for future mailings. I would like to point out that if [redacted] has ever purchased a GM product in his past, that perhaps General Motors mails items out to past customers, and there are many companies that capture (from public records), information about vehicles/their owner for mailing purposes as well (such as extended warranty offers, etc), and this is not coming directly from McCluskey Chevrolet. In the event this is the case, I am providing the GM Chevy Customer Assistance Center Hotline of [redacted] so they can be contacted by [redacted] to ask that he be removed from their mailings if he so desires. We make every effort to honor any customer's request with regards to being taken off any mailing list that we may generate. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused [redacted], and again, have ensured that he is no longer in our data base/mailing system.

McCluskey Chevrolet has reviewed/researched all the elements regarding this customer complaint. [redacted] received a great value/deal on the 2006, 109,725 mile Hummer that they purchased, which I'm sure is part of the reason they purchased the vehicle to begin with. There were no promises...

made to the customer with regards to ANY future repairs and that information has been verified by multiple sources. If we, as a dealership, had decided to replace/repair items on this high mileage vehicle, then the price that it was sold for would have been reflective of those additional expenses and repairs performed by being a much higher price, not the price that the [redacted] purchased it for.McCluskey in no way, shape or form intimidates or discriminates against anyone - ever, as [redacted] has referenced. In fact, most of our buying customers are women! We do, and have valued all of our diverse customer base over the decades of successful selling and the tens of thousands of varied customers that we've provided with a vehicle. As a measure of customer goodwill, McCluskey Chevrolet would be willing to make any repairs that the [redacted] would like, at our internal cost. We believe that this is more than fair for a vehicle that was purchased "as is."

The customer was spoken to Monday, January 29, 2018, by a member of our management team, and was instructed on what they needed to do. They were given the phone number to contact since it is an outside vendor of ours that has taken over with the attempt to collect monies from them. By...

contacting this number, they will be able to check on the status of this. Our staff followed up with this vendor who indicated that they spoke with the customer, and told them to provide them with a statement showing the check cleared, and when that is performed, they will refund him his money instantly. The records at this vendor show his check has still not cleared, and until he shows them proof that it has, they will refund him his money instantly. The records at this vendor show his check has still not cleared, and until he shows them proof that it has, they will not refund the money. The customer is aware of this.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I will comply and sign this letter to have ALL of these inquiries removed from my credit report. I am still not ok with MY permission not being given. At this point it is our word against your word, I just hope in the future you give a potential customer the courtesy of speaking with THEM not their family members when trying to sell a vehicle. This practice is totally unacceptable and quite ludicrous that I had to go as far as to get the Revdex.com involved before I could get any kind of response from anyone.

[redacted] purchased a high mileage (141,231 miles), older vehicle (2005) from McCluskey Chevrolet "as is," with a sales price of approximately $3,500.00. We have listened to [redacted] concerns, and have made some repairs to the vehicle (not mandatory that we did so based upon the miles/age of this...

"as is" vehicle), with our internal costs thus far at approximately $1,200-1,300. As of today (10-27-15), [redacted] vehicle is at our service department for the power door locks to be fixed/repaired (again, in an effort to appease the customer and her concerns). During this time, [redacted] is in a loaner vehicle from our dealership, as we were concerned about her being without a vehicle during the time of this repair. After this repair (which was not included in the dollar amount referenced above for the repairs thus far on this low sales price cost vehicle), we can not, and will not, continue to authorize any further repairs to this vehicle. If we continued making repairs to this vehicle, then the sales price of the vehicle would have been much higher than what [redacted] paid. If this is not acceptable to [redacted], we are more than willing to return this vehicle to our inventory, and to void this purchase. We feel that we have gone above and beyond with our willingness to address and repair the items that have been performed on behalf of [redacted] and this vehicle.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. McCluskey Chevrolet was well aware that I paid with a cashiers check. The check originally tried to go through on 1/8. Due to a banking issue, it was not accepted. I provided McCluskey with a cashiers check instead on 1/5. The check was suppose to be destroyed internally. During the transaction, no one said this was going to be placed with a check processor. The check did go through on 1/25. I spoke with a manager about this and was told I was suppose to have my money back with in 2-3 days. On 1/29, I was given the information. When I spoke with a rep from [redacted] I explained what happened to the first person that answered. Her repsonse was "Yeah, they told us...so?". I was eventually transferred to the refund department. I had to explain again what happened. During all of this, I'm thinking if they knew, then why did they process the check still and McCluskey cash my cashiers check?Eventually, I did receive my money back. I should not have to do all of the leg work when I did inform McCluskey. They needed to ensure this did not happen when I delivered them the cashiers check. It seems once a vehicle is sold, they do not want to deal with anything else except collect the money. Why was my cashiers check still cashed when the personal check was still out there? Didn't a manager from accounting review this? Why did I have to call their processing company myself when I was promised 2-3 days? Those are the questions that needed to be answered because either they company have incompetent personnel or personnel that are cooking the books! This is the query from my checking account that shows the personal check did go through:Jan 5, 2018RETURNED ITEM FEE FOR AN UNPAID CHECK [redacted] IN THE AMOUNT OF $[redacted]Fee-$[redacted] I did deliver a cashiers check. It was cashed to replace the personal check. Their check processing company still collected the personal check!

Sales Manager [redacted] McCluskey Chevrolet, received this communication from [redacted] on 12-10-15 with regards to this claim:"I'm paying to have it repaired myself so it's irrelevant at this point." In our opinion, this should now close this case initiated by [redacted].

Attached is a picture of the mailing received earlier this week. As you can see, it is clearly from McCluskey Chevrolet. The addressee is clearly [redacted]. Therefore, it is difficult to believe that I am not in your database, as you claim. No matter who is sending them, YOUR name (McCluskey Chevrolet) is on it. You seem to take no responsibility for your own mailings and advertisements. It is your responsibility to make the mailings stop. Please do so immediately.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]The key fob was purchased with a one year warranty; I returned the device to the dealership within the one year warranty period but was charged $50.00 by the dealership to reprogram the device. I do not understand the business' position, are they offering to refund me for both devices which would be a total of @ $190.00 or just $ 139.50?

Approximately 1 year ago, we diagnosed the [redacted] vehicle, and the customer chose not to have the work performed. Therefore, the customer has been driving this vehicle, since that diagnosis by our GM certified technician's, with their vehicle mis-firing. Within the last week, the customer came...

back into our dealership/service department, and because of them not addressing the mis-fire issue approximately 1 year ago, further damage has been done as a result of this neglect, and the vehicle now has other issues associated with this condition/lack of attention/repair(s). At the last visit to our service department (again, within the last week), by the customer, the work was denied by the customer. Any fees paid by the customer up to this point, was for past work performed on the vehicle as well as diagnostic fees.

Mr. [redacted]' loan, for his new vehicle purchased, did not fund from the/his lender until April 14, 2017. No dealership pays off a loan on a vehicle that is traded in until the new loan funds. Sometimes customers decide to go ahead and make the monthly payment to the old lender (the vehicle they...

traded in), if they are concerned about their payment being late, or if, perhaps, it is close to the due date. A payment doesn't show up on a credit report as being "late" until 30 days PAST THE DUE DATE of when the payment due. For example, if a payment was due on April 1st, any consumer would have until 30 days later, before that "late" payment would show up on a credit bureau report. We have also overnighted the pay off of your trade in to your older lender on April 19, 2017, and your old lender should have received the pay off by now, and this loan should be showing as paid off. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused Mr. [redacted] and his family.

The Dealer has just brushed this complaint to one  side, they have not addressed the whole issue, not that I expected them to.   The public needs to be aware of there financing  tactics.regards[redacted]
