Update to my post on 11/14/2019 - We canceled our service with LePage effective the end of the year. We were SUPER careful to not overload our cans up to the end of our service, to guarantee no extra tip charges. They not only missed our last pickup (New Year's Eve - they came on New Year's Day), but also didn't remove the cans until 3 days later when I called them to ask them to pick them up. I just got a bill yesterday from LePage for a $50 cancellation fee AND an extra tip of the can charge! I called them and they got defensive about it. They eventually waived the fees, admitting that I shouldn't have been charged the extra tip charge!! People need to LOOK AT YOUR BILL! They're counting on you not looking and just paying it! That's a shady business practice!

Horrible service! We signed up several years ago from a door-to-door salesman. He offered a wonderful price and promised it would never increase. Skeptical, I pressured him on the promise, figuring it was too good to be true. The first couple of years were fine. They didn't charge for any extra bags, didn't raise the prices, service was good. The past 2 years have been terrible! They would often miss the pickup days, skip our cans but get our neighbors' cans (and yes, they were at the curb on time), and then they started raising prices. First, it was a minimal increase to our quarterly bill. They told me it would never increase, so I called to demand they uphold their promise. They did. Then, they switched to billing every 2 months, and jacked up their prices A LOT. In addition to that, they started charging bogus $7 + tax for a "extra tip" of the can! One month, they charged us for 4 (FOUR) extra tips in one stop!!! We called and they said they could remove ONE of them! What?? My husband saw them dump that week and there were NO extra tips! Their customer service is awful. People are difficult to reach, are not nice to talk to, and are not understanding of how their policies affect the customers. I just got my latest bill and there's another charge for an extra "tip" of the can. I'm switching carriers. Done with them and will NEVER recommend them.

I called LePage & Sons on May 24, 2019 to cancel service. Their clerk said I had to give 30 days written notice. I said I had never been told this even some weeks earlier when I threatened to cancel. Their ‘welcome letter’ sent when service began made no mention of it. She said it was on the back of my bills. There was nothing printed on the backs of the first bills, that info had been added at a later time, no notation was added to the front of any following bill to call attention to the change, no other notice was provided. Also, starting their service was by verbal agreement, I had not signed a contract so no written notice of ending their service was necessary.

Because they didn’t pick up their tubs I wrote Mr LePage June 12, 2019 to confirm I had verbally cancelled their services on May 24, 2019. I restated my reasons for cancelling and said the last straw was a significant rate increase hidden by switching from a 3 month billing cycle to a 2 month cycle without explanation. It first appeared the rate was reduced! I called, their clerk said it cost extra to put a notice on the bill. By contrast on Aug 1, 2017 they sent a separate full page notice of a rate increase. The evening of June 12 my son & wife delivered the empty tubs to their office. They took photos as proof, my son told their mechanic he was returning the tubs for me.

On August 10 I received a bill for service June through September 2019. I wrote Mr LePage August 12 stating that my check #5519 of April 12 covered their services through May 29, date my service with them ended. Their tubs were returned June 12. I asked for his personal confirmation that this issue was resolved and enclosed a SAS envelope for his reply. I told him I am elderly, have limited income, dealing with health issues, and don’t have time or energy to deal further with his inexperienced, incompetent staff. That they had cost him a customer who always paid well before the due dates. I haven’t received a reply.

This is in regard to my complaint about LePage & Sons - #***, that the Bloomington, MN Revdex.com office responded to. Below is the letter I received from Mr. LePage in reply to my letter of August 12. I’d like to point out three things.

One, he backdated his letter to August 16 to make it appear he wrote it before getting notice from Revdex.com on August 21. I actually received his letter on August 22. It doesn’t take a week for mail to go between our addresses, only 2 to 3 days.

Second, he states they will investigate the validity of the issues I noted – as though I have nothing better to do than make up false complaints and for what reason? I certainly didn’t receive any service that I didn’t pay for.

Third, he states the invoice that I received (dated 8/01/2019 for months of June through September) must have been a computer system error. That’s interesting since I sent him a personal letter on June 12, reminding him that I had cancelled their service on May 24. This should have triggered them to pull my account from their system at the time and to delete the bill they had sent me for June and July. I’m 83 years old, I firmly believe their clerk, in thinking old people are inherently slow witted, was trying to extort $93.64 from me. She wanted to prove a point - She had become angry with me when I called on May 24 to cancel service and argued with me when I said I didn’t have to provide a 30 day written notice.

Absolute worst customer service, plus prices are outrageous. Already had the cans when I bought the house so I figured I’d chose them. $22 a month. Had no idea they have been charging my neighbors $10 a month. Then I called to cancel and they skipped my pickup day saying my cans were not out. Even though I have security cameras stating otherwise. Terrible business. Will never call them again!

We have had the Lepage and sons garbage collection for 5 years now. I honestly couldn't be more pleased with their service. I can't think of one negetive thing to say about them. From the workers all the way up to the owner...I have delt with every one of them and they are just as friendly and helpful as can be. Thank you to the folks at Lepage and sons..!

I called April 29th 2019 to cancel my service with Lapage and Sons, and asked for a refund. I pay in full every year in March. I payed $289. I was told that I would not be getting a refund.

The lady who spoke with me, stated that I can cancel but would not get a refund. I asked her what would be the difference if I payed monthly and she stated I would have to give a 30 notice but then service would be canceled

So because I payed a year in advance I'm being penalized. I have no contract with them. I want my money back tha would be around $250 at this point.

Where and what can I do to get my money

I canceled my service mid-July 2018. They continue to try to collect on services not provided. I finally broke down and sent them a package containing payment on November 30, 2018. The Post Office states that they received the package on or about December 3, 2018. They sent another bill in January and I replied that they received the package and to ask their employees on whether they received it. Today, I get yet another bill from them. First of all, I do not think I should pay for services not provided. Secondly, I paid the bill.

I cancelled service on 6/30/2018 (they acknowledge receipt of letter stating this). In November 2018 they sent a bill for $62.05 (for service in Aug - Oct 2018), which my wife mistakenly paid. When I realized this I called on 11/16/18. I was told that the payment hadn't cleared and I should call back when it does. I checked with my bank and it had issued a check thru my bill pay application - I could not stop payment on it at that time.
On 11/20/18 I called again and was told the payment would be mailed out after the first of the month (12/01/18).
On 12/19/18 I called and was told that the person (Ali) who was responsible for this refund was out, but they would leave her a note.
On 12/27/18 I called and was told that their records indicated a check went out the previous Friday - 12/21/18.
On 1/2/19 I called and was told Ali had put the check in the mail that morning.
On 1/7/19 I went into the office was told that Ali and the owner were in a meeting but that the check was signed by the owner and mailed on 1/3/19.

I have not been allowed to see or talk to anyone beyond the person at the door / whoever answers the phone. So far I have been told a check was in the mail (or would be in the mail) on 12/01/18, 12/21/18, 1/2/18 and 1/3/18.
I have not received a check.

I switched to LePage & Sons solely for the purpose that they do not require a contract, I followed suit with a few of my neighbors. Went well for awhile, then they missed actual garbage days, not counting holidays. Multiple times I had to call the Bethel office and request them to come back for our garbage, only to be told they'll get it next time. After continued requests and complaints, the female at office became rude, I said I no longer want their service and for them to pick up cans. She threatened me with a $600+ fee in which I reminded them of no contract. She hung up on me. And now they submitted that fraudulent fee to a creditor and it has negatively impacted my credit. I want it removed. As that was dirty business.

We have had this service for 4 years. Everything this seemed fine when we signed up with them, customer service was there to answer questions.
The last year has been horrible!! Our garbage, recycle and yard waste are hardly ever picked up on time and we have had to call many times for them to come out and collect.
This summer we paid for the yard waste and it has been nothing but trouble! It is never picked up and the days it does get picked up if there are any bags next to it they are just left behind!! With the service you are Guaranteed 20 compostable bags per week.
The thing that has really bothered us is that they started picking up the yard waste in the regular garage truck with all the house hold garbage!!! I have called to question that many times and have been told it saves them time and that the yard waste and house hold trash is sorted out in the end.... last time I checked that’s called cross contamination! I told them that I was going to start using the yard waste container for house hold garbage because it all goes in the same truck and they told me I can’t do that......
So much for supporting a local company. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

I ordered service with lapage & sons two years ago, when I signed up they said same day and time for my trash pickup as the previous service. After about a year and a half they started coming later and later. Eventually they started picking up on different days of the week. I called and ordered a yard waste can from them in early spring and paid for it up front. For the next five weeks I did not receive the yard waste can and I called three times inquiring about it. Kept getting the same “ i’m So sorry we’ll get a can to you right away.” The next week no can and it was well within the yard waste “season”. I called to cancel their service and was told that I had a three year contract with them so there would be a cancellation fee. I told them that I did not receive the service that they said they would provide, I reminded them that I paid for a can that I did not get and was now out the several weeks because they didn’t provide it. She told me that since I paid for the can and didn’t get it she would just call the contract a wash and cancel my service. I asked her to send a letter stating that which she did.
I put the lapage & sons can on the street the following week empty so they could pick it up. The driver “ dumped it” and drove away leaving the can. ( it was empty ) I left it on the curb for the whole week and for the next two weeks the same thing happened. I finally stopped taking it to the curb when my neighbor complained about it sitting there for so long. I have had this empty garbage can sitting in my yard for probably six months?
Now I just got a bill from them for services from Sept, Oct,Nov. ??

We had Lepage and Sons Garbage Service (Residential) There was at least 3 occasions that our garbage din NOT get picked up within 8 months. There was many times that the garbage collector spilled the garbage/recyclables onto the street. I would have to pick/sweep up glass and other garbage remnants. I decided to change to another company and when. I attempted to call them at least 5 times and no one would answer the phone! I sent a letter that the new garbage company gave me to stop service and still didn't hear anything. When I finally got a hold of someone they informed me that they need a 30 day notice for stop service! The charged me for that! It also took 2 months for them to come in get their cans. I will never recommend them!!!

We have been trying to cancel with Lepage & Sons garbage service since July. They have missed picking up the garbage on our entire street about every third week. We got maggots from them not picking up the garbage past year, we have called to complain, and the maggots were on our house, our stoop and front door, all over our driveway, in our garage and in our foyer. This happened again in August and when I called about that because of them missing our garbage collection they offered a five dollar discount on our bill. This is the first time they offered any sort of discount for them continually missing our street for collections. After servicing about half of the houses on our 5 block-long street there are only two left who use them. They have continuously refused to pick up their garbage cans. After paying a total of $235 for exterminators to come out twice because we couldn't get the maggots under control (which I have many pictures of) I talked to a woman after they would not return my call for weeks and she told me she refuses to compensate us for something a little water and bleach could have taken care of. She yelled at me, was incredibly demeaning and rude and after asking her to please let me talk over and over she finally hung up. I now still have their garbage cans, they won't pick them up and they refused to let us cancel their service even though they did admit that they breached their contract by continuously missing our pick up. We have also had to call them to come get the garbage because they missed us over the past year and one half and they have come on the weekend (Sunday) which my sister, who is an Anoka County sheriff saw and said is illegal for them to do on that day. Mind you our garbage was out since Monday night. Our neighbors are also incredibly frustrated with our garbage being out for days at a time. They do not deserve our money or any more of our time. Please help!

Takes trash and recycling in one truck. Does not send two trucks all goes in one. If you think you are recycling your not with this company. I've watched them do this for months

On 6/5/18 we informed LePage we would cancel their service as of 6/30/18. I made a full payment of 68.03 on 6/22/18 for services rendered but figured we would be overpaying and would get a refund of what was over payed. I just wanted to do the right thing and make sure our bill was payed. After numerous e-mails to LePage with no response I called them on 9/5/18. I was told what we paid for would have been for June, July and August but they do not do refunds. We should have received money back for July and August. We thought we were doing the right thing by paying the bill in full, knowing now that LePage would just keep our money we shouldn't have paid anything and let them come to us. This is poor business practice and a terrible way to treat a former customer.

Horrible customer service and terrible service! After three years with the company, we noticed a decline in their ability to provide decent service. We had to call and request pick up service more than 10x during the last 5 months we were with them. Not to mention that one of the services we paid for was never delivered!
When we decided to take our business elsewhere and requested a refund for the remaining balance of the cycle, the company all of sudden had a policy wherein they don’t give refunds. This is outright thievery if you ask me. If you can’t do the job in a timely manner, thus resulting in your customers leaving, you should be obligated to refund any remaining balance paid in advance!
After many months of numerous calling and emailing, we finally hear from the General Manager, Ric ***, who promised to issue us our refund. Prior to that, LePage had representatives who were conveniently new and therefore wasn’t aware of their policies - but somehow knew that they don’t issue refunds. But when asked to produce said policy, no one could show me anything. Not once did we receive an apology for the lack of response and poor customer service we received throughout this whole ordeal. It’s been nearly 2 months now and we have not heard anything or see any refund issued. LePage has conveniently ignored our attempts at contact.
We will never do business with this company again! If you’re looking for service, go somewhere else. This company is unreliable, unprofessional, and outright rude. If I could, I would give this company a zero rating.

I have had nothing but POSITIVE experiences with Lepage and Sons. They have above and beyond customer service.. whether I've had to call and speak with someone or their drivers themselves! From picking up extra yard waste (and the driver helping me bring the heavy bags from the backyard) to observing a driver get out of his truck to retrieve a neighbors can from the side of their house that wasn't put at the curb, emptying it, and returning it back beside the house. I'm very impressed with this business, their workers, and staff.

We canceled this company 3 weeks ago and they still haven’t pick up our garbage cans when we call they always seem to have an excuse. My neighbors keep questioning us (me and my wife). Why we have our garbage cans out for so long. I feel disgusted that my house is looking like a horder. I just want my garbage cans removed. Please!

I canceled my waste and yard waste pickup with this company 5 weeks ago because they were not picking up as they were paid to do. After many, many emails and phone calls, I received a confirmation on 5/25/18 that LePage would be closing my account as I requested, and pick up the cans (there are two; one for household waste and one for yard waste). They still have not picked up the cans, and I have had to store those and the cans from my new service provider. Our city (Fridley) has an ordinance where cans cannot be out front of a house or garage, but I have no where else to store them. Luckily I haven't received any notices from the city, but these cans need to go. What do I do with them if the company won't pick them up?
