This letter is to inform you that * *** *** *** has carried out to my satisfaction the resolution it proposed for my complaint, filed on 3/19/and assigned ID ***
Regards,

I wanted to let you know that this has been resolved. We spoke with Ms*** numerous time, went over her numbers numerous times to try and show her that no we did not take her fees twice. She
was not convinced and I asked her repeatedly to give me something to work with, what did she see that I did not. She could not do that. She continually just said you took my fees twiceI then sent her file to our corporate office for review. They could not find that either. We matched it up with our schedule of tax payments etc. but nothing. We informed Ms*** of that and she simply did not like the answer. The answer was in the fact she just THOUGHT she was getting more back in her refund but the IRS will only give you what is due to you minus any other federal obligations (which they cannot tell us) and that is it.In order to try and placate the customer I did refund her bank fee

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2017/04/05) */
The first Allegation that the Fee Communicated to her was wrong; Its falseThe Fee which was communicated and she signed was *** less *** (Cash-In-Flash - A Cashback program by Liberty Tax Service), So her Net Fee Was *** Plus ***
Account Handling Fee (The Financial Charge for Processing Refund)We Never quote the price before processing the returns as system charges it automatically for number of forms included in the returns
Second Allegation, We Charged Twice; is FalseWe charged Once at the time of her federal Refund ReceivedHer Federal Refund was *** her Indiana State Refund was *** Tax Preparation Fee of *** plus *** was Deducted from her Federal Refund *** was Directly Deposited in her account on 02/21/2017, The Indiana State refund was *** and was Directly Deposited in her account on 02/22/She never gave money upfront
Thirdly, she never gave us her dividend form to file and she forgot to bring that at the time of filing her taxesNow, she is blaming that we made a mistake
Fourthly, we filed her amendment for free, we waived the amendment fee of *** and she claims that she filed her amendment herself which is wrong
Lastly, her desire for the fee refund, we have not charged her anything extra beyond our commitment and the amount she agreed toSo, we cannot refund the tax preparation fee to her
We can also provide further proofs upon request
Thanks,

Date Sent: 3/14/2016 4:47:28 PM[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:As previously explained to Ms. F[redacted], our lights were not in the middle of the lawn, they were under the tree line on the side and in the back of the house (see attached pictures). So they were well out of the way and there was no reason for them to be callously broken. My husband was home on the day our lawn was serviced and he went outside to check the work and discovered that our lights were broken yet again. He immediately called to report the damage which Ms. F[redacted] admits to in the attached email. We sent pictures of the damage and all information regarding the charges to replace the damaged lights. It was earlier in the day and our children who are of high school/college age weren't even home at the time so this is a very poor excuse. I believe that Lasting Impressions' team was negligent in servicing in our property and they are clearly in the wrong and do not want to take responsibility. We have absolutely no problem paying our bills as we have done so in the past but we do not think this is fair and so we will not pay the balance. They continue to send us bills with late fees tacked on which is basically harassment and we would like it to cease. Please see all email communication and pictures attached. Regards,[redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] This matter is not resolved to my satisfaction. I feel that if someone makes a mistake as big as this one was; the person should be reprimanded if not TERMINATED. Liberty Tax Service is just that...a SERVICE. Thank GOD we did not get audited by the IRS...they would probably have left us on our own for that one, too. In the world we live in today; nobody is accountable for their mistakes. This is just another example. Thank you for your assistance with this matter. I hope anyone dealing with them know what to expect....NOTHING!!

2/16/2015To whom it may concern.I received your letter in reference to the complaint made on 2/5/2015, Assigned-ID,# [redacted], We have reviewed this matter and decided to return the tax prep fees in full except for the financial product fee of $39.95 and the $5&00...

Cash-ln-A-Fiash promotion that was paid to the client. As always we offer a free estimate. If the fees are not understood there is no obligation to file the return here. With our liberty tax employees we do train them to disclose the information in full to the client. including the financial product fees. They are also required to pass tests and register with IRS before being able to prepare any returns,If you need any further assistance, you may contact the office and ask for Matt W[redacted]Thank you

We at Liberty Tax, Beltsville, strive every day and with every client to give the best possible customer service. As a franchise we are given pricing guidelines from our corporate office but we do have some flexibility in pricing. A client's price is determined by the number and complexity of each...

form that the client is required by the IRS and State of Maryland to file. We are Competitive with the other major tax preparation companies, Each client receives a detailed verbal and visual explanation of their cost at least three times and at the conclusion of the interview signs several times completing the transaction. Here are the numbers addressing each situation.Married filing jointly, one dependent4 forms - List price - S268 Discount - S118 Total fee - S150(Last year, at another Liberty Tax, this client paid $84 of an original fee of $534 on 11 Forms)Client paid with a debit card and signed the charge slip.Single, no dependents6 forms - List price - $330 Discount - $180 Total Fee - $150(Last year, at another Liberty Tax, this client paid $75 of an original fee of $325 on 5 forms.)This client paid by having the fee taken out of the refund. This is called a Refund Transfer and requires a temporary account be set up with an independent bank. The bank charges a fee of $49.95.Discounts are given at the discretion of each owner. Often "new customer' discounts are combined with whatever promotion Liberty Tax is offering nationwide. Each owner determines the floor below which, a greater discount would adversely affect profitability. It should be noted that after completing the transaction (signing and paying), the client and her husband sat in our waiting room for 15 - 20 minutes waiting for their son to finish. When he finished, he spoke with his mother, and only then was her dissatisfaction with the price expressed. Both transactions were marked complete and closed by then and We had moved on to other Customers.Customers can, at any time, prior to signing the agreement stop the process and leave. We don't really understand why, if price was an issue, the clients signed all the forms and paid. We regret having a dissatisfied customer but we have done the best we can do for them.Philip A[redacted]Franchise Owner

From: [redacted] [mailto:[redacted]] On Behalf Of [redacted]Sent: Monday, March 02, 2015 11:51 AMTo: [redacted]Subject: Revdex.com Complaint #[redacted]This customer had forms that caused her invoice to be higher than the previous year. We explained this to...

the customer, and in an attempt to keep her as a loyal customer, we discounted the return to something that she agreed to and signed for and paid. The preparer that prepared her return did so accurately, and did so professionally. Based on comments and actions made by the customer to our staff in the office that were inflammatory and hurtful, we have decided to refund her preparation fees paid as well as ask her to not to come back to the office anymore. The manager has long been a wonderful manager, tax preparer, and active member in the community, and she has the full backing and support of Liberty Tax Service. She has never had to hang up the phone on anyone before, but had to with this customer after the comments that were made.  Respectfully, Liberty Tax Service #4689

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Regards,
[redacted]
I reject their response because once again they are trying to not honor their refund policy.  My issue is not with the Bank but with Liberty Tax.  Liberty Tax failed to send in a complete application in to [redacted]. Their refund policy states if I am not happy with Liberty Tax for "any reason" I would be able to get my refund.  I am not happy with Liberty Tax not only for their failure to supply the bank with a complete application but also with how they have handled this refund policy efforts.  First I was lied to about the length of time it would take to investigate this, then after weeks of dodging me a I receive a letter providing me with a worthless paper/certificate falsely stating that this my so called refund.  No, my refund should be in the form of cash or a check.  Liberty Tax here has breached their contract with me by trying to pass off this certificate as a refund to me; they have engaged in deceptive and unethical business practices here; they have engaged in false advertising by stating one could get a refund for any reason then not give me my money back. I want and deserve my money back.  Again my issue is with Liberty Tax not the Bank; they keep trying to shift the blame.  And even if my issue were with the bank then why would they give me a certificate at all; no, they know they were wrong; they know they clearly stated I am supposed to get a refund back but they don't want to pay up; they don't want to give my real refund back. My issue is with Liberty Tax and they need to give me my  money back.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Regards,
[redacted] That is not true. I had less papers this year than last year. And first they tried to charge me $493 for 6 pages. My mom had 13 and her tax service charged $170. Once they saw I was about to leave they called corporate. The manager came back and said they could do it for $150. They were offering a special for $50 off the total. Well after that then all of a sudden no it was $200-$50. Thats not what they explained. Last yr I had my self employed documents plus unemployment documents so I had more documents. I didnt say anything hurtful. I said that I was given false promises and that they wouldnt tell me any price until the end inorder to make it where I had to pay their fees. The man told me next year to find another company to do my taxes and talk to me like I was trash. Yes I was upset , they kept trying to play me and saying one thing and doing another. I have my forms from last year I had 11 forms. So yet again this office is saying untruthful things. I do not recommend this office to anyone. I will be posting a warning on facebook and twitter etc. Noone needs business from a liar

This place is a fraud/scam. There is one person there. Sounds like he's from Nigeria or another third world country. First he will tell you his name is Sam then he will pretend to transfer your call and come back on the phone and say his name is Austin. He will tell you to pay the first payment upfront and you have to send the payment to Lindsey G[redacted] in Florida. He told me the parent office was in [redacted], but when I asked him why did I have to send money to Florida he said that was the parent office location. When I questioned him about Cincinnati he clamed up. He sends text messages from [redacted]. This is a scam. Please do not send any money to this man. He claims the website name is [redacted]. The website states they are not a loan company but he offered me a $2000 loan.

I have reviewed [redacted] complaint to the Revdex.com and I have the following response:  My office  is aware of the mistake that was made on [redacted] return. It is our policy to pay out any and all interest and penalties that are associated with our mistake, and a check for this...

amount has been paid to [redacted].  However, we are not responsible for the tax that [redacted] and her husband owe on their return, and we cannot pay that tax for them. The preparer that made the mistake on [redacted] return has been retrained to prepare this type of return correctly.

Review: I went to Liberty Tax to get my taxes done on February 3rd and they told me the charge for doing them would be 300 and some plus 34.95 for the bank fee. My original refund was723.00 and I just found out that they took all of my return except 293.00. The amount they was never discussed and I would have never agreed upon that number. They won't do anything to assist me with my complaint. Can you help. sincerely yours [redacted]Desired Settlement: I just want my money that the IRS said I had coming which was 608.00 I feel robbed by this company and would like a complete refund for 608.00
