I am torn knowing that I had to give Shawn and Lifts Plus Depot a rating of one star. They are undeserving of any stars.
I have owned and operated a small 50 employee company for approx 20 years. Shawn provided me with numerous texts full of name calling, poor attitude and an unwillingness to even get out of his truck to knock on my door. He was bothered that a vehicle required moving so he may back his truck into a 20' wide driveway. Instead, he drove up my street 3 times as if the car would have vanished from sight upon each of the 3 arrivals to my house. To make matters worse Shawn claims he can only remove the load from the side of his truck. What does he do for the average customer with an 11 for wide single car driveway? Unload into there lawn with a forklift causing tremendous lawn damage? Face it, Shawn does not want to put in an effort to work with a cash customer.
So in conclusion, NEVER CONSIDER HIRING THIS UNQUALIFIED COMPANY FOR ANY SERVICE THEY CLAIM TO PROVIDE.

A few months ago Shawn & his assistant installed a [redacted] post lift in my home garage. The install went very well and they displayed excellent professionalism during the entire process. Their knowledge of the products is very high and I would HIGHLY recommend Shawn to family and friends.
I had a question concerning adjusting/maintaining the lift and Shawn quickly returned my call in a few minutes and mentioned to call him anytime in the future. He provided easy to understand advice concerning my needs and was very friendly and courteous (as always).
Thanks Lifts Plus LLC!

Good afternoon [redacted],
I'm writing to let you know that this case has been resolved.  The owner sent my refund and it just cleared today. ...

If you could "close" or "resolve" this case, it would be appreciated.  Thank you very much for your time and concern.  Have a great day.

Contact these people at your own risk. I am still waiting for my deposit refund.
I paid the deposit in early June, they called me a week later and scheduled the install for July.
On the date of the install I did not hear from them.
I called the office number several times and the answering machine is all that I ever got. I left messages, no response.
I called the mobile number that was used to call me to schedule my install. No answer, I left a message, "[redacted]" text me back and said he was in a meeting. I text him back requesting a return call.
I didn't hear back until 9pm via text saying his guys were broke down and he would try to get a sister company to do my install.
I didn't hear anything back from him until I sent him a text the next day at 12 noon. He replied and said the sister company was booked for the next 3 weeks.
I asked for a refund, he replied and said ok. I haven't received my refund.
Update: after waiting a couple of days for my refund or some response saying it was on the way. I sent him a text asking for a receipt because I had not seen any activity on my account, no response. I waited 24 more hours and sent him another text saying that this seemed like internet fraud and I would not contact him again I would report to authorities instead. He sent me a text calling me a j[redacted] and said that's why he didn't send a truck down here to me, and that he had written me a check for the refund and he mailed it.
It has been over a month and I do not have my deposit back nor a lift installed.

Absolutely terrible. Do not purchase from this company. Does not back up their work. Owner is rude to customers, even as far as degrading them via e-mail, instead of in person. Bought a lift, they installed quickly, broke quickly, and he refused to fix it. Lines were reversed, hydraulic leaking from bad seals. His response? "I don't know if it's an education problem or a communication problem. Parts warranty only". It was INSTALLED INCORRECTLY. Parts shouldn't break within weeks of install. Buyer beware.

Review: Approximately 28 October I ordered a four post car lift from lifts plus depot. Prior to the order I called several times and inquired about it and received immediate call back regarding the product and a possible order. After the order was placed I was told somebody would be in contact to arrange formal delivery. That call never occurred. I tried on several occasions via phone and email to make contact with the [redacted] but was unsuccessful. I have filed a [redacted] complaint for $250 required at time of order. I have requested a refund of that money but that has not been granted. I am very willing to work with Lifts plus depot if there was an extenuating circumstances that led to the lack of contact.Desired Settlement: If there were extenuating circumstances I would be willing to continue with the deal however as there was no contact with me I am very apprehensive to continue anything with this company or this individual

Review: On 7/11/2013 I ordered an automotive lift for my garage from an ad off of [redacted]. The notification that I recieved from the company stated that a representative from the company would be in contact with me that day to set up a date for installation. I never heard anything. On 7/12 I called the number provided and was told that I didn't have an order. The application online didn't allow for me to input my credit card information that was required for the deposit. The ad stated that a deposit of $250.00 was required before an install date would be set up. I agreeed to the deposit and informed the gentleman on the phone that final payment would be made by credit card as well. He informed me that there would be a 2.50% fee charged if using a credit card. I agreeed and set up a date of 7/24. On 7/23 I called the company since I hadn't heard anything since 7/12 from the company just to confirm that we were still on for install the next day. I also stated that again I would be using the credit card to pay. The gentleman told me that now if I use my credit car that they would have to charge me tax on the order since his company is a "cash" only business. His [redacted] ad stated that all major credit cards were accepted. We wereen't told of this when we informed him that the final payment would also be amde using the credit card. We were only informed of the 2.50% fee for using the credit card, which we agreeed to pay. The gentleman stated that he never told us about the credit card and that we weren't allowed to pay that way and got snappy that we couldn't come up with CASH or CHECK to pay the remaining balance of our bill. He was very rude and I just told him to cancel my eorder and refund my money for the deposit if he wasn't going to accept the credit card payment. He sent me a text after he hung up with me that he would process the refund to my card on 7/23. We still haven't recieved a credit for the deposit.Desired Settlement: Would like the government to check out this business if they are telling customers that they are a cash only business and only charging taxes on customers who use credit cards. Most importantly I would like my deposit of $250.00 back immediately.

Response:

Dear Revdex.com,

This email is in reference to complaint # [redacted]

.

We have issued a refund in this case of the deposit made by the buyer via a [redacted] credit card. The consumer claims that he was required to pay by cash. That is some what true. On every invoice to EVERY customer the balance is due by cash, certified check or money order. We service from NY down to georgia. We have a policy not to install thousands of dollars worth of equipment and leave with a CHECK. The customer can use a credit card but they will be charged a 2.75 percent processing fee. This fee collected from credit card companies is increasingly being passed on to the consumer as a perfectly legal practice. MANY well known retailers will give you a CASH discount and then charge you alot more for credit. Our own supplier of [redacted] charges us the 2.75 percent fee and will charge us less for cash. We spend $[redacted] a month.

As far as being charged tax. We expressed to this consumer that if you pay cash we would not charge tax. That is true. We are based in Virginia and do not charge Pennsylvania sales tax. Whether you pay Cash or Credit. Yes it gives the preception that if you pay cash you are avoiding tax. But technically this consumer would not be charged tax either way. There is ALOT of fraud in this world and we as a business try to avoid that fraud. Accepting CREDIT is risky and opens a company up to charge backs, stolen cards, and fraud. There is over 22 billion dollars lost each year to credit card fraud and as a small business owner we choose to to minimize our risk.

What is puzzling to me is this consumers preception that this is an "under the table transaction" which I find ignorant seeing that he placed a [redacted] dollar deposit via a credit card establishing a "paper trail" for the transaction. Thats kind of like stealing half a loaf of bread hoping no one would notice.

As far as being rude? I'll send Flowers.

Thank You,

[redacted] Plus Depot LLC.

only an unprofessional business owner would close a response with "I'll send flowers"
Even a fairly well crafted response has to end with another insult.

Keep writing Shawn, but in the end your lack of customer skills shines thru

Review: [redacted] was paid a $250 deposit to install an auto lift in March 2015. We finally agreed on an acceptable install date 9/3/15. He now informs me that he is not crediting me my $250 bc he had an earlier install date set in April and I cancelled too late!? This is completely false and why am I just hearing about this now? I was never notified or invoiced still to this late date. This is completely made up by Mr [redacted]. As evidenced by his companys low Revdex.com rating and bad reviews, I'm not the first person he has taken advantage of.Desired Settlement: I am requesting my $250 back.

We have sent him updates and he was fully aware he was going to be getting a refund prior to this complaint. There is a delay though which he has been made aware of. We switched merchant service providers. They provided us with support for refunds for the first 90 days. But since it has been 6 months since this customer finally decided he wanted a lift. We cannot process a normal refund on his CC. But the process has started and he will receive a refund within 14 days. Normally it only takes 48 hours.

Review: I ordered an automotive lift from this company on June 30, 2014 and paid a $250 deposit with my credit card. I was contacted by [redacted] and we set up an installation date in July. The week leading up to the installation, I never received a confirmation that they were coming on the day it was scheduled. I tried to confirm but still heard nothing. I took the day off work and waited for them to show up. They were supposed to come between 9 am and 1 pm. I didn't hear anything from them after many times of calling and texting [redacted]. Finally around 1 pm he texted back saying he wasn't sure where the installers were and he'd get back to me. After about an hour, he finally texted me that the truck had broken down and he'd let me know what was going on. I tried to get an answer out of him whether or not they were going to make it that day. He would not call me over the phone, the only communication was by text. This was very unprofessional in my opinion. So I waited for the rest of the afternoon and finally around 5 pm was told they were not coming that day and he would call me in the morning to reschedule. I had taken the whole day off work for nothing. The next morning I didn't receive a phone call, but another text message in the afternoon saying he was trying to reschedule for another time. He said it may take another week or two. At this point I was skeptical whether he would ever show up, since his business practices seemed questionable and it seemed like a scam. I figured it would be best to ask for a refund of my deposit, since it is was written on the website that a refund of the deposit would be granted if it was within 48 hours of the installation. I emailed him for a refund, which he replied through email on July 17, 2014, that he would refund my deposit and it would take about 7 days to process and in his words "use this email as confirmation that I have agreed to refund your deposit." So I had his written word that he would refund my $250 back onto my credit card. Of course I never received my deposit of $250 back and it's been almost 2 months.Desired Settlement: I want my $250 refunded back to my credit card.

Lifts Plus was very convenient to work with. They answered all of my questions promptly and service was superior. They worked around my schedule and installation was quick & effective. Really great company!

Review: was sold a defective lift by this company. Tried contacting several times to no avail. The one time was sent a text back and told to spray [redacted] on a mechanism. We left countless messages, gentleman who installed called us telling us he would have us arrested and put in jail if we try to dispute charges or take him to civil court. This equipment failed in less than 2 weeks of installing.Desired Settlement: would like for them to repair the equipment if not then pick it up and refund us our money back

Customer was made fully aware that there warranty is a "PARTS" warranty ONLY and that Lifts Plus Depot does not provide a "service" warranty. They accepted these terms prior to purchasing the lift. They did not choose an extended service policy. We have offered to ship them a warranty part and or provide service for a fee. They DECLINED. Lifts plus depot does not manufacture the item, we just install them. There was nothing wrong with the installation and was working properly when we left. Also the customer acknowledged and stated that he feels the lift is defective. They are required now by [redacted] workplace guidelines to LOCK OUT AND TAG OUT THE UNIT. To prevent further use which could result in death or serious injury as is required by law. Lift should not be placed back in service till all repairs are completed by a trained individual.
