This complainant was dissatisfied with her offer so we rebutted with an increased offer. Again, the settlement was denied. They are looking for a 100% offer when Lighthouse feels our current offer is more than generous. Our adjuster...

also explained that the complainant is welcome to go through her own insurance company but her son is not covered by her policy. If she went through her own company, there would most likely be a difference in premium which could run costly so she will not pursue this route.At this time, we are working to resolve the claim but the complainant's son is threatening to follow legal avenues.

Per our claim notes, we have spoken to the complainant a few times since the loss was filed; we spoke to him on 08/01, 08/11, 08/22. While we agree that a timely resolution this claim would be in everyone's best interest, we have had some issues contacting the insured. Again, I will ask the claims team to reach out to her. Lastly, per the guidelines set forth by the IL Department of Insurance, a company has 60 business days to attempt the resolution of a claim on behalf of the claimant. Lighthouse is currently well within this timeline.

a distance. Also, the photo did not include the portion of the fence damaged in the accident. Lighthouse was told the damaged portion had been hauled away to someplace where a picture of it would be impossible. Our appraisal team reviewed the photo provided and recommended an offer less than what was offered. The adjusting team thought the offer in question was fair and, as of now, waiting on a response from the claimant. A claims manager will have someone from the adjusting team contact the complainant today to discuss the offer again.Thank you,Nick [redacted]

I was hit by a party that had Lighthouse Casualty Ins It was 13 days and 7 messages later before I got a phone call from there adjuster who proceeded to offer me less for just one of three items she owes me for, stating that even though I was on a major highway and as the policeman said doing exactly what I was supposed to be doing when her insured pulled out between stopped cars onto the highway and hit me behind my back wheels and my trailer that I was at fault for speeding and not keep an eye out for other vehicles. I was flabbergasted and brought that message to my insurance company who just couldn't believe she would even say such things because the police said she was obviously at fault for pulling out from a side street and hitting me on my side.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me so far.  I have purchased another vehicle due to running out of time from the issue.  I have attempted to contact the company to update with the replacement vehicle under a policy with which I have already renewed AFTER the claim began.  I'm having difficulty continuing to utilize their services and obtaining an updated card.  I appreciate the responses and resolution.  I'm now seeking to continue to do business with the company.

vehicle but we explained that we used a different system and one which is used by almost every insurance company, CCC. When one f the Claims associates spoke to him on 10/04/16, she notified him that we were waiting on paperwork from his lien holder as we need a copy of the title to complete resolution. She then reached out to the complainant on 10/12/16 and explained that we have called the lien holder twice now to no avail.  We later received the needed items and a check was sent for payment.At this time, this claim is closed in our files.Thank you again,[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because this insurance company is merely attempting to delay payment of this claim.  They have a complete police report which includes a description of the incident and also verifies that their client was at fault as she was issued a moving violation by the police.  The fact that their insured has not yet reported this incident after nearly 3 weeks from the date it occurred, would leave one to believe she has no intention of doing so.  For that reason alone, it should have no bearing on the decision to settle my claim given the evidence they do have in hand.

filed a Freedom of Information request, per the Des Plaines PD instructions. These requests can take time. It is not a question of whether Lighthouse wants to pay out the claim, it is the company's fiduciary duty to ensure where the liability falls. Our total loss adjuster noted that as of June 2, we had not heard from the complainant and we sent him an offer letter.
