Lindsay Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Reviews (46)

Review: Online advertisement on dealer website shows vehicle on sale at MSRP price for $39,545. Under the advertised MSRP price it says dealer discount of $6,961. After discount showing "Final" / "Love It Price" advertise price of $32,584. When I finally went into the dealership to talk numbers sales man told me that the advertise price includes incentives that I did not qualify for. IE military, leasing, and student incentives which is including into the "Final / Love It Price". I've included below the dealers fine print for the "love it price"

We make every effort to provide accurate information, but please verify options and price before purchasing. All vehicles are subject to prior sale. All prices are special internet prices only. All financing is subject to approved credit. All new vehicle prices exclude freight. Tax, tags, and processing fee of $499 additional. The Lindsay "Love It" price includes all applicable rebates and incentives. Some included rebates may require financing through the manufacturer and are therefore subject to credit approval. Additional rebates and incentives, such as Military or College Graduate programs, may apply to those who qualify. Lindsay "Love It" pricing may not be compatible with special factory financing. The Lindsay "Love It" prices are valid based on manufacturer incentive program time periods, which vary by make. See dealer for details.

In the fine print there is no mention or details of what these rebates and incentives are. Sales person just randomly listed Military and leasing incentives that the fine print clearly states as an additional discount and not apart of the "Love It Price" The MSRP listed on the vehicle listed the break down including freight charge. When I asked the dealer why I had to pay the freight charge again dealer did not have a confident answer. Other then what is in the fine print. Dealer could not explain what part of the discounted price I qualified for and what I didn't. Everything was being made up as the sales attempt was made. Sales person tried to convince me that this is standard business marketing to get people in the door.

Per the following Viginia code this is in fact illegal practice.

§ 18.2-216. Untrue, deceptive or misleading advertising, inducements, writings or documents.

I like this dealer to live up to their advertising and stop this poor business practice.

THANKSDesired Settlement: Honor advertised price for vehicle.

I wanted to buy a car at this dealership, but the sales person did not want to sell to us. He made up an excuse not to let us drive any of their cars and told us he doesn't care if we don't come back.
I think he really turned us down because he doesn't like my wife, who happens to be Asian.

Review: On 28 Feb 2014, I bought a used 2012 Nisan pick-up truck from Lindsay Chrysler Dodge Jeep, [redacted] VA. I am a Pennsylvania resident. They were to send the title and registration to PA. They issued me a 30 day temporary VA registration. My PA registration never came through so they issued me a second 30 day temporary VA registration. My PA registration still did not come through so they issued me a third 30 day temporary registration which was to expire on 24 May 2014. On 20 May 2014, I still have not received my PA registration so I called them. A girl named [redacted] told me that [redacted] lost the packet for PA that was to title and register my vehicle in PA. She had to resend my information to PA. They were to issue me a fourth 30 day temporary registration which she did not. On 24 May 2014, I called them. A representative called [redacted] told me that they had no record of me in their computer system. He asked me to fax my paperwork to him so he can see what he could do. I faxed him the information then I left him four phone messages after that which he never returned my calls. I called the salesman [redacted] who sold me the truck. He told me that he was going to see what he could to. He never called me back so I left him a phone message which he did not return my call. As of mid-night today, 24 May 2014, I cannot legally drive my truck because the registration expires. I am at a loss and have no idea who I can turn to. I put $3,000 down on this vehicle and paid to have it registered and titled in PA.Desired Settlement: I need my vehicle titled and registered in PA. Until this happens I need another temporary VA registration so I can legally drive it.

Review: On June 3, 2014 I observed on the Lindsay Jeep Dealership website a 2014 Jeep [redacted], Stock number [redacted], for the sale price of $36, 757. The particular unit was advertised with several pictures of the vehicle and a video. The pictures and video showed a vehicle with an American Expedition Vehicle (AEV) package which includes many upgrades to the Jeep [redacted]. The AEV package is valued at around $14,000.00 on this particular vehicle.

On June 3, 2014 around 11:45am I called Lindsay Jeep and spoke with a sales representative to verify the vehicle, stock number [redacted], was on sale for $36,757.00.. The sale representative confirmed that stock number was available and the price was correct for that unit. I informed the sales representative I would be at the dealership at 4:15pm.

I arrived at the dealership at 4:25pm due to rush hour traffic. I was greeted by a sales manager wearing a tan button up shirt, brown hair and black frame glasses. I told him what sale representative I was looking for by giving the name of the sale representative I had spoke with earlier. The sale manager showed me the restroom and informed me the sales representative would be right with me.

After returning to the showroom floor the same manger that greeted me upon entrance explained to me the sale representative I spoke with earlier was with another customer, but he would get someone to show me the vehicle, [redacted]. This unit number was also show to the manager.

Another sales representative of Lindsay Jeep introduced himself to me while I was standing outside next to the building. I informed him I was interested in vehicle, [redacted]. The second sale representative remembered the stock number and return inside to retrieve the key. As he returned outside with the key in his had he pressed the alarmed unlock button on the key remote. The vehicle I was standing next to alarm sounds due to the sale representative pressing the key remote. The unit was underneath a section of the dealership, a display section.

The vehicle, [redacted], was priced around $63,150.00. After seeing this I explained to the second sales representative the price online was $36, 575.00. Lindsay Jeep did not make a error in typing $36, 575.00 instead of $63, 150.00. Lindsay Jeep purposely put $36, 575.00 on their website. The second sale representative and the sales manager who greeted me at the door confirmed this due to the original price of a 2014 Jeep [redacted] without the AEV package and upgrades would be priced at $36, 575.00. As I explain to the sales manager the unit, [redacted], was falsely advertised with pictures and video on the website, the sales representative from the phone conversation earlier in the day walked outside. The sales manager makes the statement "people come in and they do not want to spend 63 thousand dollars on a vehicle, but we have other jeeps." The original sales representative then also states "we have a use Jeep with a winch on it." This was in reply to my statement that I wanted a Jeep with a winch on it.

It's obvious this is a practice this particular dealership uses from the other reports on the Revdex.com website. The Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep corporation should be notified and do a separate investigation of the general manager, sales management (new and used vehicles) and sale representatives. If these individuals acted acted alone or in concert they should be held accountable for knowingly and falsely placing an advertisement online to generate more sales opportunities.Desired Settlement: The Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep corporation should be notified and do a separate investigation of the general manager, sales management (new and used vehicles) and sale representatives. If these individuals acted acted alone or in concert they should be held accountable for knowingly and falsely placing an advertisement online to generate more sales customers.

I would also like for the Lindsay Jeep dealership marketing department to make the appropriate disclaimers on their internet advertisements when necessary. A single statement, ("Price does not include AEV package upgrades.") would give customers better information to make a purchase.

I would like for Lindsay Jeep to honor their Internet advertisement for unit [redacted] on the day of June 3, 2014 due to the effort in knowingly misrepresenting the unit.

Review: The dealer has advertised a 2014 jeep compass 4x4 suv stock number [redacted] for the price of $13681 through their website, autotrader and cars.com I did call to verify that price on which they old me it was still available and I needed to go to he dealer, when I went there and spoke to the salesperson he told me he will call me back witthe total once I received the call he tld me the was a mistake on the add,but I told him that I did confirm the price before going there and also the same ad and price has been there for 3 days or more since I started looking for a vehicle on all websites, they stated that was an honest mistake, but its hard to believe them that mistake has been for so long on all the websites and tell people who call that the price is the correct oneDesired Settlement: to honor the price advertised

Review: I have been looking for a jeep and found one online for the advertised price if 35,828.00 jeep [redacted] unlimited addition. Upon reaching the dealership and talking to a salesman, I was told that they could not sell the car to me at their approved advertising price. I explained to them that the advertised price of the jeep has been on their website for a week. They refused to compromise and instead gave me a corporate number to voice my complaint. I called.the number while in the dealership, explained the situation and was told that I would receive follow up call with the solution. Within five minutes I was approached by the sales manager and was told that he just finish talking with the corporate representative. He then told me that he could not sell the vehicle ti me at the advertised price because somebody else miss priced it on their website, and continued to say that we had not come in "(he) would have never known". Afterwards the disregarded their mistake to take no responsibility to their false advertisement.Desired Settlement: I should get the car for advertised price.

Response:

Dear [redacted],

We regret that [redacted] had a bad experience at our dealership because of a clerical error on the part of a dealership employee. She stated in her complaint that it had been on the web site for a week at the price of $39,828. Understandably, we did not realize the error until [redacted] attempted to purchase the vehicle. We spoke with [redacted] about the mistake while she was in the dealership explaining that it wasn’t just a minor error. The aforementioned [redacted] had a conversion package installed from an Off-Road supplier (AW) that added $14,791 to the cost of the vehicle in question. Due to our inventory manager's oversight, we marketed the truck at the $35,828 price point which was pricing minus the installed equipment. As stated in our disclaimer, we make every effort to provide accurate information however we obviously sometimes make mistakes. If it had been an error of a couple of hundred dollars, we would have just eaten the loss. However I think you agree that 15k was just too much to just say okay. We attempted to explain to [redacted] our situation but she was justifiably upset and only wanted to purchase at the $35,828 price. She didn’t want to see another Jeep so we apologized to her for her inconvenience. As she lived very near the dealership even our offer of paying for her gas did not go over well. Again we apologize for wasting her time but sometimes with over 600 vehicles these mistakes do happen though we make every attempt to make sure that they don't. Our Managers are reviewing our procedures so that hopefully in the future this doesn't happen again.
