We had a ThermaTru french door with full side lights and transom windows installed when we built the house less than years ago We painted the doors regularly, but realized that the doors have been leaking since the beginning from the outside and the inside (from the windows) since the wood floor rotted out next to it Our flooring contractor took one look at it and said, "That's a bad door! " Of course, the Therma Tru rep from *** lumber said it was the installers fault and the installer said it was just a lemon Therma Tru said that they would replace the glass that is leaking but won't discount a new door ($3500) or help fix the floors that the doors have ruined Their rep was surly and arrogant If I have to replace the door, WHY on earth would I buy from the same company that refuses to stand behind their product and treats their customers like refuse?!

I bought two Thrmu-Tru smooth star doors on October and July 3011.The doors were bought and installed by *** (***).The cost are around $Booth doors shows signs of rotting and warpingThe warranty in the door is against these issueFor last two months, Kelly's construction on my behave contacted Thrmu-Tru to complain about the quality of the doorsWe were promised replacement of the two doorsTill today, we kept calling the reprehensive with no action to replace the doorsWe would like to get full refund to replace both doors

Purchased door, contractor installed, door leaking, contractor back times - install correct, failed seals on doors from manufacturer
Purchased a door from Lowe's Bangor, Maine in Aug Installed by contractor end of Aug Door has leaked since Contractor has returned times, not install issue Floor is now ruined again after replacing flooring and laying tiles Sheetrock is now rotted along with new flooring wood Contacted Lowe's Bangor Maine and was directed to manufacturer Now have not been contacted by someone to evaluate this situation Flooring and walls ruined due to excessive leaking with significant rain No response from anyone Have emailed pics and purchase documentation Now requiring further expenses to re-repair flooring and possible door

They will not honor their warranty
I purchased a Therma Tru door and had it installed in my homeImmediately after it was installed it was apparent there was a defect in the door as a nail holding two of the frame boards together was inserted incorrectly and protrudes into the doorway
I contacted Therma Tru and initiated a warranty claimThey said they would be able to replace the door and have it installed for me by their local retailer (***'s)After a couple months without contact from them I finally reached the person handling my claimHe told me ***'s refused to do an install for them because it was a warranty issueThis seemed crazy because the store routinely installs these doors but I went along with it
I offered to do the footwork to get the replacement install arranged and present an invoice to them for the replacement door and installI even went into my own pocket $because the store will only schedule an install after they have someone come to your home

I had my contractor order a custom patio french door, with a 36" opening panel on one side, and a 12" opening panel on the other sideTherma Tru first sent a door with a fixed 12" panel, which we returnedThey screwed it upThen they sent a door with a solid center column, which invalidates the whole reason for an opening 12" panelSo they invented their own style, and screwed it upNow they're telling us they can't do what we've askedBullcrapBecause they don't care, they've now lost money on the deal and refuse to make it rightThey wasted 3+ months of our time

I purchased a special order Therma Tru door through Means Lumber located in Beckley, WV The door was so poorly constructed I refused the order
I ordered the 2nd Therma Tru door after waiting approximately days the same door with the same manufacturing flaws was delivered My gas bill doubled due to the hole in my wall

About a year after installation of my Thermatru fiberglass door there was an issue with the center glass slipping down into the doorI called TT and they sent a rep who repaired the glass
A month or so later the glass again slipped into the doorI again called TT and they again sent a repThis time the rep installed a block in the door to hold up the glassThis appeared to solve this problem
A few years later another problem started with the doorOn extremely cold days ice would form on the inside door panel and side panelOnce again TT sent a repThe rep suggested that we try adding caulk under the saddle which I didProblem only slightly solvedWe still had frost formation, but it was so infrequent we just lived with it
Fast forward a few more years to this summerAt certain times of the day you could see daylight creeping in around the door, indicating the door was no longer sealing properlyWe took no action until a few weeks ago when the door no longer closed

Purchased a new thermo-tru door at Lowes and now the thermo-tru won't make good on warrantee
Purchased a new thermo-tru new at Lowes under ten years ago, everything was fine until two years ago the inner lead glass started falling apart and sagingCalled thermo-tru and was told to go to Lowes to start the warrantee process
Lowes Contact me a few days later to tell me that Thermo-tru wouldn't warrantee the door glass, because the door had another customer name on it
When we purchased the door at Lowes we were told it was a special order and that the client did not like the door, it was marked down for a quick sale
The door was still in the original wooden shipping crate, with exposed openings to inspect the door, the door was brand new, perfect condition and never opened
Lowes purchase the door tru thermo-tru and sold it
When you buy a car with a few miles on it it's still warrantied for years thousand miles
When you buy a open box TV at Costco it's still war

We had a custom sized door ordered by our contractor from Therma truThe door was purchased for a100% disabled Veteran on a VA grantThe process took close to one yearThis would allow the veteran to have save entrances and exitsWe notice a crack in the glass the door is impact resistant so we called a glass repair companyThe glass repair company said it was a manufacturer's defect because the glass was pinched by a screw during assembly and the soon caused the crack to spreadThe glass company could of took my check for $but insisted on us contacting Therma TruAfter sending pictures and emails I received a email saying we are not covering thisThey did not send no one out to look at itThe part of the door with the crack is not used and is blockedNow the Veteran has to pay $for a manufacturers defectBuyer Beware when purchasing from this companyThere warranties
are very sketchy

The glass door to the bathroom suddenly exploded and shattered by itself
I purchased brand new home about years backThe glass door for the master bath suddenly exploded on Friday 30th Jun 2017, my entire family was downstairs we heard the explosion and when we went upstairs the the glass had broken completely this happened around PMluckily none of us were present in the master bath other wise would have got hurtwhen I spoke to customer service they mentioned that could not have happened, something should have happened for it to explode and that this is not a manufacture defect and will not be covered under warrantyBut there was no reason for the glass to explode like that, other than manufacturing defect

Therma-tru does not stand behind their product My glass insert broke and customer service refuses to even look at the problem
My glass insert on inside of entry door made a loud pop and crackled looking like a spider web The outside glass is not cracked I went to a Therma-tru dealer to inquire what the cause could be After seeing pictures they think a manufacture defect and I should contact Therma-tru The customer service department response was not if any help They just resireted to say glass us not covered and that's it I was sent a link for the warranties on glass inserts and their is a lifetime warranty for defects This glass insert did not break due to a foreign object hitting it I was looking for customer service department to care and at least look at photos of the glass breakage The customer service department just blew me off with out even caring what the problem is They said glass not covered and we don't want yo hear anything about it
What does

Faulty Products that should not be sold to the general public
Purchased door THC-M-from a home improvement storeInstalled it and noticed that the gap between the door strike and frame it too largeThis is a fixed dimension from the factory, not an install issue yet when I called their customer service department and spoke to *** and sent pictures he blamed it on the installed, siting the foamDumb answer, foam actually would squeeze the frame tighter making it better

I purchased a thermatru patio door and had a licensed professional with over years experience install itThe patio door has leaked from day oneSo, I call the company several times and they had me remove the siding from the back of the house around the door along with removing the back light and door bell so it could be re-caulkI did the TWO TIMES and also covered the back of the house with ice & dam paper so that there was no way water was getting inNone of this helped it still leakedWhen the rain would hit the patio door water would end up in the basement soaking the wood sill plateThermatru sent a field rep to take pictures and report back
The door only leaked over the fixed glass panel sideSo I spoke to *** *** X-XXX-XXX-XXXX ext*** and over plus months we went back and forth many times he didn't return my callsSo I contacted his supervisor *** *** X-XXX-XXX-XXXX ext*** *** was not aware of any of my problemsI spoke with him once then *** took back over*** *** was absolutely no help! I'm totally disgusted with Thermatru and how they handle customer service

Using sub-quality materials on their doors/jams and then not standing behind that poor quality
I am more than disappointed with the answer I received from corporate Therma Tru regarding the 3rd door replacement on my kitchen We replace the original door years ago, with a pressure treated jam, to prevent the "rotting" on all the original doors installed in our new home
The "new" door is about years old and the jams rotted so badly, you can out your finger right thru the wood is it so rotted and soft I called Therma Tru, before ordering a new $door, send them pictures and asked about some compensation due to poor quality product
The "new" replacement door costs over $without installation costs yet I was told the jams are not covered under any warranty from them Therefore, they are using low quality products on their frames and not caring how ineffective it is I am very disturbed that they are not even considering some form of compensation on the new door as
