I purchased a key transponder from this retailer on-line. They sent me the incorrect remote. I spent $100.00 to have a locksmith come out to program the remote. He found the FCC# did not match the original. I was charge for his servicew with no resolution to my problem.

I returned the remote and a correct new one was shipped. Once again I had the locksmith out to program the remote. Success this time, but another $100.00 charge.

Unfortunately, we do not refund locksmith fees. We do not refund locksmith fees for a few reasons: we have no way of knowing if the locksmith is using the correct equipment for a specific job (different remotes require different machines), if the locksmith equipment is in good working order, or if the locksmith is doing the programming correctly, etc. Case in point, the first remote sent to the customer would have worked, as the FCC numbers are cross compatible.

I am rejecting this response because: It's not about the locksmith's skill level it's about the retailer sending the incorrect transmitter as noted on the locksmith's receipt. The second time the locksmith came and programmed the new remote he used the same equipemnt and completed the programing. It's a lame reason from the retailer covering their shipping error. I'm not withdrawing my complaint

Regards

I purchased a key from them for my Kia. The ad said nothing about them sending a blank key that I would have to take to a lock smith and pay to have them cut it. Do not order from them.

LKC Services Response • Jul 15, 2019

The picture in the product page you bought the remote from had a picture of an uncut key. That is what you purchased. We are confused as to how that can be somehow seen as misleading you into thinking you would get a cut key that works for your car. How would we, #1 know the exact cuts of your key seeing as we never saw your key before, and #2 give you a programmed key when we are not near your car to tell it to accept the new key? Ordering a key or remote from us does not do all the work for you, it simply gives you the tools you need to save yourself money by doing the work yourself.

Rude, and gave me a faulty product that could not be programmed. Said they would give me a refund, but did not. Laughed in my face afterwards.

We will happily refund the customer's money, minus the $9.99 restocking fee, once the product is returned within the appropriate frame. In addition, the choice of a FREE REPLACEMENT rather than a refund is also available. Our refund/return/exchange policy (including notice of the restocking fee and return method) can be found at the bottom of every page of our website. https://***com/return-policy/

Got my remote here. Got it programmed here. Without it, I would not have a working remote for my car today and the price to go to a dealership was just out of the question for me. I don't want to pay half the price for a car to just have a key and if it weren't for replacemyremote, I would be out of a car!

Gotta say, there are a lot of bad reviews for this company out there. I called them and asked them why I should trust them after reading so many conflicting stories. Was told that the only REAL review site was this place called "Shopper Approved". I looked in to that. I think it may be true after getting reviews on the other review sites (irony in full effect!) Regardless, I took the chance, got a locksmith to pair it to my car (was advised to NOT go to the dealer), and despite having to use a second locksmith (the first one was the cheapest but was proved to be a scam artist) the remote I got was dead on perfect with no issues whatsoever. If I would have used a dealer to pair it they would have robbed me blind after lying to my face that the remote I got here was the wrong item. NEVER BELIEVE THE DEALER PEOPLE! I am sure the reviews are from very angry people that thought they were promised something they never were and are more angry with themselves then this company and just are taking it out on them. The CSR's were very nice, highly knowledgeable about all things to do with my exact remote- showing an incredible encyclopedia of knowledge on these products. They firmly told me to listen to them, not to re-invent the wheel. I did as I was told and the results were a lot more money kept in my wallet that the dealer would have scraped out. I am writing good reviews of this company to show honest people out there the side of the company that I saw. Anyone that passes up the chance to use replace my remote is only %#$themselves in the end. I will write this review everywhere I can for them.

Bought 2 remotes from them (for 2 different vehicles). Older vehicle I was able to self program and it came with instructions. Took a few tries, but that was only because I was reading them wrong. Newer vehicle I took to my local locksmith who was able to get it programmed and working in 10 minutes! In the end saved a few $$ vs going to my dealership. Definitely recommending to my friends and family.

So, I read the reviews from these guys. They are all over the place. Some sites say they are terrible, some say they are great. Who to believe? One thing I did read consistently was that if you followed their advice the results work out well. I DID order from them. It came quickly. I did NOT take it to a dealer, I called a locksmith- 1 they recommended to me. He was able to program and cut the remote and key easily and I DID save around 40% from the dealer costs. They asked me to be honest and write a review for them to try and counterbalance all the bad reviews pissed off people write. No one ever writes good reviews, they said. They were right. If the people with good experiences all wrote a review the sites with low ratings for this company would all be much much higher. I'm happy to try and help them get the word out. Use them, do NOT go to the dealer if you do not have to!

Shipping was fast. Very fast. Received a shipping confirmation just a hour after I received an order confirmation. Product is what I bought. I couldn't self program it and was a little disappointing but even after paying a locksmith I still saved close to 80 bucks from the dealer quote. Good Experience.

Lost my '07 Toyota keys, first time in over 50 years of car ownership. After finding out how much Toyota service wanted to replace the fob (I had an extra key) I went to the web. Found these people, the website was easy to use, and the order came in a few days. I used their customer service to get complete instructions for programming the fob, they emailed the info to me immediately. Saved over $200 and everything works perfectly. If you can follow directions (these were pretty convoluted: open door/turn key/close door/turn key, etc, etc.) use these people, I highly recommend them.

Glad everything worked out for you! You are showing the public that if you follow instructions than saving money is as easy as 1-2-3.

I ordered a key fob from this company & it won't program to my vehicle, I wanted to send it back for a refund, they said I would have to pay $9.98 to them to send it back, plus my shipping, plus they already charged me $2.00 for shipping insurance. I don't feel I should give them any money to send it back plus paying for the shipping. This company is a rip-off, I would not recommend them to anyone!

As stated on our website: We guarantee our customers top quality products and that’s why we are able to offer you a FREE 180 Day Replacement Guarantee on our replacement keyless entry remotes and keys. Our team works very hard to ensure our products are top of the line so our customers have minimal issues. When it comes to any electronics, there is slight chance for a defective product. That’s why we have this guarantee in place - to protect our customers in the unlikely event a keyless remote is defective.

In the event that a customer does not want a replacement but would rather receive a refund, on the bottom of our website's home page, plus the bottom of every other page of our website, is our return policy (https://***.com/return-policy/).

To keep our everyday prices low, we do note inflate our prices to cover the costs of any overhead associated with returned items. Instead, we charge a restocking fee.

Therefore, we are unable to grant the request to refund the $9.99 restocking fee nor the $3.00 for shipping. To ensure fairness to everyone we apply our policies across the board.

Their sites states you can get a programmed replacement remote for your car/truck. I ordered one for our vehicle, under the impression it would be programmed. When I received it and called they stated that I would need to take it to a auto dealer to have it programmed. What??! Why use this company if you have to go to the auto dealership anyway? I payed $47.99 and mailed it back as soon as I realized I had to take it to get programmed. They refunded me only $35.00. That is a scam as I did not do anything with the remote but take it out of the envelope and put it right back into the envelope and return it. They need to make it more clear for people ordering from them that more likely then not they will have to take to dealership and have programmed. I looked up reviews unfortunately after I returned this remote, and they have a lot of negative feedback. All stating similar things. They should have better customer service to ensure people will return or tell others about them. After this experience, I have nothing but negative things to say about this company and their return policy. I would like a refund of the 12.99 and I will not revisit this site. Thank you

"Here at LKC Services we want to ensure that customers have all necessary information before making a purchase. On our website's home page it states: Replacement keyless entry fob remote programming- Some keyless remotes are self-programmable with step by step instructions that we include with orders when applicable. Many of the newer smart keys and keyless remotes (2005+) are NOT self-programmable and require special equipment for programming by an automotive locksmith. We urge our customers to contact a Locksmith Professional in their area to make certain they are able to program replacement keyless entry remotes for your specific vehicle. This will save you and us some time/money in the case the local locksmith in your area is unable to program your specific keyless entry remote. Also, on the bottom of our website's home page, plus the bottom of every other page of our website, is our return policy (https://replacemyremote.com/return-policy/). Revdex.com: I am not worried about the $10, however when I called I was told ours would be programmed. I would not of wasted my time with ordering something that I could just order thru the dealer and pay the same amount. I will NOT recommend this company to anyone and I will make sure I let anyone who asks know the problems I have had.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID.
Regards

They are sm to deal with. I cancelled an order immediately after I placed it. They still tried to charge me a service fee of $6.99. They did not incur any costs, nothing was processed. I asked for them to reverse the charge and they wouldn't.

LKC Services Response

Here at LKC we charge a cancellation fee for ANY order that is cancelled - no matter how quickly the order was cancelled. The reason behind this is because our orders are being processed as soon as they are received. Even if an order is cancelled immediately, the order has already gone to our shipping department, and the process has started. This means that the product is pulled, tested, packaged, etc.. The cancellation fee is to recoup these and any other overhead costs associated with the cancelled order. To keep prices as absolutely low as possible, we do NOT raise all of our prices to absorb these costs. Instead, fees are only charged on the individual cancellations and refunds. Links to our refund policy, along with all of our other policies, are at the bottom of our homepage and every other page of our website. Unfortunately we are unable to grant the request for a refund of the cancellation fee. We must apply our policies across the board so that each and every customer is treated equally and fairly.

Online orders are automatically transmitted to our shipping department, which operates at earlier and expanded hours than our "normal business" customer service hours. Our representatives in our customer service department process the refunds/exchanges/cancellations. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience, but we must adhere to company policies.

I am rejecting this response because:

Once I pointed out the flaw/lie in your first response you are trying to modify your lie. You DO NOT have people working on Sunday evenings waiting around for online orders to come in and start filling them. You are a small shop. Please stop hanging your hat that it is "company policy" that makes you charge this fee as though it is some law. Your attention to customer service is deplorable. I believe all of the BB complaints are for similar issues. My credit card company agreed with me and credited back my account. Check your statement with them and note that they deducted the money from what they pay you.

I had reviewed the website for ordering a key fob for my car. I went through all the motions and placed the order. No where during the ordering process did a get a flag or notice telling me that once I place the order I will be charged for cancelling this order.

Within less than 10 minutes I was happy to locate the key fob I was trying to replace. Yes, very lucky for me but when I cancelled the order on the website it said it was charging me a cancellation fee? I had only just placed the order? When I chatted on website, the person said that the policy information is located in the gray box at the bottom of the screen?

I was like, you have got to be kidding me? I checked to make sure the website was secure (HTTPS) and that the reviews I had ready were decent but no where did this website state clearly that once I place an order, no matter what, they will charge my credit card.

I called and requested that they remove the charge and they refused. I have emailed them in the hopes that they will reverse it but do not hold out much hope since the chat online transcript was pretty firm about taking my money and not offering to reimburse.

I just don't understand how you can order something and then cancel within a matter of minutes and be charged and not have some pop up windows giving you a point of no return signal so that you can be certain of doing so.

I am rejecting this response because:

First, you can not tell me that as a consumer if you have a fee regardless of the cancellation time, this information should be made available right at the place where one is ordering. I requested information from the company on where they post this information, and they stated it is in a small gray box in which you would need to click on to read about any information regarding orders.

If charging someone a fee this information should be disclosed at the screen of ordering so a consumer may make an informed decision to continue placing the order. I would never have placed this order if this information had been made available in the screen in which order was being placed. Hiding this information in a gray box at the bottom of the website page is very deceitful on the part of an online retailer.

I ordered a keyless entry fob, received it and immediately found it was not operating correctly at programming. I contacted customer service who at first offered an exchange or return for full refund. He never, at that time suggested there was any 'restocking fee" as this appeared to be either the wrong item or defective. He then walked me through for about an hour when finally after following the exact same steps, it was programmed.
In using the product for less than a month, I found the lock button worked sporadically and the unlock button stopped working to unlock the door. This was my daughters car and she had to leave to get back to college out of town so could not keep the car here to go through this process again.
I requested a refund for this defective product and have since returned it. I also asked in my original request for a full refund since this was defective, not just a "change of mind" sort of return.
Now I'm told they are withholding a $9.95 "restocking fee" - for an item that is being returned because it is DEFECTIVE AND NON OPERABLE.
I have contacted customer service whose response is nothing more than "sorry, you chose not to exchange it", I have tried to contact management but I'm told there is no way to contact management other than the same customer support line I have already contacted - who refuses to direct me to management.
The supposed customer service Lead J. Castillo now essentially calls me a liar since the product worked at the time of programming, obviously not understanding that it only worked for about a week.
I had to pay $9.99 shipping to get this item, which is non refundable, AND I had to pay the return shipping (which was only $4.00 including the required padded envelope and insurance.
I would not suggest doing business with this company. I have never had an experience with a company not offering a full refund for a defective item., refuse to oblige my request for contact information for a manager and now to be called a liar.
All I ask is the complete and full refund of the product as purchased

LKC Services Response

Here at ***, we understand that when working with electronics there may be instances where a product is defective or stops working. That is why we offer a 180 DAY 100% REPLACEMENT GUARANTEE. With a replacement, there is NO RESTOCKING FEE. According to our policy, any REFUND - for whatever reason, is subject to a restocking fee. Although this fee is termed a "restocking fee" in reality the fee isn't merely for placing the item back on the shelf. It is to recover costs related to the return of the product such as: the packaging materials, the labor to test returned products, track returns and update inventory, the overhead and inventory holding costs, etc.. To keep prices as low as possible, we do not inflate the prices to absorb these costs, instead, individual returns incur a fee. Unfortunately we are unable to grant the request for a full refund. We apply our policies across the board to ensure that each and every one of our customers is treated equally and fairly. Our return policy can be found here: *** We do apologize if customer service was unsatisfactory.

Lost my second remote key for my 2000s era SUV and needed a quick replacement. Called them to confirm they had my key+fob in stock, went to their location and had them laser cut and program the key and was out the door in less than 15 minutes. Paired the key to the vehicle my self. No problems whatsoever. If you're ordering online, just pay attention to what you are doing and find a reliable automotive locksmith in your area.
