Loose Cannon Customs Reviews (1)

In response to [redacted] complaint (ID#[redacted])  The vehicle in question was
towed into our shop on June 30th 2015 with massive damage. We were
notified by the owners attorney that the car was coming in. After nearly
two weeks we finally were able to contact the registered owner...

[redacted]
[redacted] and were granted permission to start repairs. We explained that
this was going to be a costly repair and we recommend going through
insurance. The customer informed us that the insurance denied the claim;
however, gave full authorization to proceed with all estimated repairs
with the understanding that payment would be out of pocket and the
owners' responsibility.  We then performed all estimated repairs. Several
days
after car was picked up. We received a call from the customers attorney
who stated the AC was not working and asked if we could we check it out.
We then contacted
the customer and asked them to bring the car in for a diagnostic. This
was my first encounter with Mr. [redacted]. After contracting an AC
specialist (who is an independent contractor) the problem was diagnosed
at our expense. It was found that the evaporator core, located under the
dash board, had sustained damage as a result of the collision. The
specialist also explained to the customer that there is no way for us to
have for seen this problem until the part had completely failed,
especially since the component is well within the dash board. We
explained to the customer that it would need to be taken to the dealer
for the repair, as we are a body shop and not expert with air
conditioning systems. We also explained that if they would like us to
handle it we would have to charge a mark up for that service. They
declined the service. The AC specialist and 30yr. Master tech. [redacted]
[redacted] stated "if it was his car" he would take it to the dealer and
tell them only that the AC stopped working. See if they would fix it
under warranty. This conversation had nothing to do with my business or
me personally . One month later the customer again contacted his
attorney first, then us, that he was having problems with their car.
After having the car towed in we performed an inspection. We found that
there was clear evidence to prove that the car had run into many
objects. we found red paint transfer on the wheel and front bumper
cover. A chunk of rubber missing from a tire. There was excessive damage
to the under side of the car. With multiple impact marks. After
performing a thorough inspection and taking multiple pictures; I then
contacted Mr. [redacted] and informed him that this was all new damage, and
it was not caused by our repair. He became very agitated and screamed
several expletives at me. I asked him to come into the shop the next day
and I would put the car on a lift and walk around the car explaining
the damage to him. He agreed. I then ordered the parts needed for the
repair so that I would have them ready if he decided to have us make
repairs (If not, it is not a big deal to return the parts, they do not
charge me a restocking fee.) Mr. [redacted] did not show up the next day.
After many phone calls to him and nearly a week later he showed up.
Again Mr.[redacted] was extremely aggressive screaming at me and using
profanity in my place of business. I asked him repeatedly to please calm
down and stop yelling. We decided to make repairs again, but this time
with no cost
billed to the customer in an attempt to better the situation. Upon pick
up of vehicle Mr. [redacted] never entered are building. Only Miss [redacted].
However Mr. [redacted] screamed from the parking lot that he was going to
burn my shop to the ground. I can not take a threat such as this
lightly, so a police report was filed immediately. He was asked to
never return to our place of business by a San Diego deputy Sheriff
Mascareness (Badge 2162). I understand how frustrating it must be to
damage a car right after receiving it , but to demand a large sum of
money especially after, additional repairs had been made at no cost, a
police report was filed, and aggressive behavior was exhibited, is
frankly unconscionable. I would like the Revdex.com to please come down and
review all photo documentation of these series of events, and please
dismiss the complaint if all documentation seems reasonable with the
series of events outlined above. regards,             [redacted]
