Complete lies all aroundFirst of all, you have not been denied to right to purchase the vehicleYou may purchase the vehicle by paying the balance owed in full via cash, or by obtaining your own financing from an outside sourceWe obtained financing for you, and you essentially told the bank to screw themselves, and that you would not pay for itTherefore the contract was sent back to me unfundedPlease refer to your paperwork, which I have uploadedThe first page is a conditional delivery agreementIt states that in the event the bank does not complete financing and funding of the contract to the dealer, you are required to return the vehicle to us in the same condition it was receivedYou have not returned the vehicleYou in fact left it at a repair facility where a bill is now owed for us to take the vehicleThis bill is nearly $Not to mention the damage to the vehicle, as you took off the transmission and drive axles and put them in the trunkDamages have now well exceeded your $down payment, so no money will be returned to youPlease refer to the conditional delivery agreement and retail installment contract I have uploadedTo address your complaint that someone threatened to beat you upThis NEVER happenedYou know that as well as we doYou're simply making it up to make your story sound goodUnless you have some sort of proof that we have, either recorded voice call, or via email/text, you are committing liableI request that you immediately redact your comment and cease and desist any further comments made online or in person claiming suchYou have also made this comment that someone threatened to beat you up on a Google reviewI am requesting that you redact the comment immediately, as you are committing liable, unless you have proof to contradictThis will be our final communication with youShould you have any further questions, you may contact our legal counsel, [redacted] ###-###-####

I am rejecting this response because:
This does not provide the VIN number for the motorThis does not prove any motor was put into my car.

I am rejecting this response because:
Low cost cars response to me is insultingFor 1, the Vin numbers not matching would only show that the motor has been replaced at some pointIt does not prove it was replaced by himThe car is a And as for my mechanic just telling me what I want to hearI have known this man for yearsHe would never just tell me what I want to hearIt's apparent that that is Low cost cars way of doing thingsLow cost cars statements of having been doing business with Pegasus auto for years cannot be true because Pegasus has only been in business for yearsAlso Low cost cars has not been in business for years eitherThey also told my husband in December that they no longer use Pegasus auto so there must be a reason for that! My mechanic showed my husband & I that the serpentine belt was on backwards, the air conditioning belt was on improperly & also showed my husband that there were bolts missing out of the top of the motorWe were totally ripped off in this situationPlain & simple! Low cost cars said that if I showed them matching vin numbers they would refund $I say let them show me the vin number of the motor they purchased! If it came with a warranty then the receipt should surely show the vin number to prove they are returning the purchased motor

Per our conversation you had stated that the clutch was out of the Mitsubishi Eclipse that you purchased from usA clutch is a wear item, just like a set of brake padsThe harder you use them, the faster they go outUser error is typically the biggest reason a clutch goes outI cannot be
liable for your performance driving a manual transmissionWe recommend not purchasing a manual transmission vehicle if you are not completely comfortable driving a manual transmissionYou test drove the vehicle, and in your opinion after thoroughly test driving the vehicle, the clutch was solid enough at that time for you to agree to purchase the vehicleUnfortunately from that time forward, I cannot be held liable for a clutch, as I have no way of knowing how you have driven the vehicle, and how skilled you are with a manual transmissionA clutch job for a Mitsubishi Eclipse is not a very pricey job, and I would be happy to recommend a service facility if you do not have one that you prefer working with

We spoke with the customer last week, and offered to check the vehicle out and help out with some of the repairs. Customer declined the offer. We can't really do much more at this point other than help the customer get the vehicle back on the road.

I'm sorry you're confused, but we in no way led you to believe that your vehicle was being financed by the dealership. Your vehicle was financed by a finance company, and you were not led to believe anything else. We discussed this at closing, and required you to call and get insurance listing the...

finance company as the lienholder on the policy. We also gave you a brochure from the finance company showing all the ways you can pay the finance company. In the closing process you were notified that this loan could have a positive impact on your credit if you made on time payments, just as we do with any customer who we obtain financing for. Even if we did not use a finance company, if we financed the vehicle ourselves, we would have the right to sue for any deficiency balance owed after the vehicle has been repossessed. So there is really no difference either way. Your vehicle has not even been repossessed as of this date. You made it clear to me that you're angry because you bought this vehicle for your boyfriend/ex boyfriend, and you want it to be repossessed. The finance company cannot make a repossession order until the vehicle is past due, and in the event they do, you will be given time to pay the vehicle off. Should you not pay it off, they will sell the vehicle, and obtain a judgement for the deficiency balance if there is any. This process is no different than any other bank or finance company would take in the event of a repossession. I would recommend trying to get the vehicle back from your boyfriend on your own, and trying to sell the vehicle or see if the finance company will accept a reduced payoff. The vehicle is in your name, and you could even report it stolen if you fear that he is trying to steal the vehicle. There's not much else I can really do for you in regards to this matter. I'm sorry, and I wish you the best of luck in getting your vehicle back.

If Mr.[redacted] is unaware, please understand we are simply the selling dealer. We did not finance the vehicle ourselves. This vehicle was financed with [redacted] If he has any concerns with his current balance or payments made, he should take that up with [redacted] We do...

not collect or receive any of his payments. I have attached the bill of sale signed by Mr. [redacted] at time of sale, and confirmation from [redacted], that the bill of sale matches the contracted amount. If he has mechanical issues with his truck, I have no problem getting his truck looked at for him free of charge. He can contact me at ###-###-#### if that works for him.

Id be grateful to have my truck looked at free of charge. I would also appreciate a closer inspection on your vehicles before there sold so this deos not happen to anyone else. you guys sold me a vehicle with busted radiator and told me if was cleaner to flush the radiator when in reality it was transmission fluid. that problem was temporarily fixed. I'd be grateful if you'd be willing to replace my transmission lines running to radiator to permanently fix this.

Unfortunately, my facilities are not equipped to take on a job as large as a frame replacement. Have you gotten a quote from a frame shop on what the costs would be to fix the frame? If you haven't, please get a quote from a local frame shop, not a toyota dealership but a local frame repair facility, and let me see if I can help you out with some of the costs to repair the frame.

Each person that buys a vehicle here has the option to have the vehicle inspected on lot, or off lot by a mechanic of their choice. Each person that purchases a vehicle here is offered an extended service contract to cover major components such as engine, transmission, head gaskets etc. These...

service contracts start out as little as $299. Mrs. [redacted] declined this coverage. Mrs. [redacted] declined to have the vehicle inspected before the sale. That made the vehicle 100% as is. We had no legal obligation what so ever to help her repair her vehicle. In the name of customer service, we agreed to cover half of the cost the replace the engine. The engine was replaced on 08/01/16. The engine came with a 30 day or 1000 mile(whichever occurs first) replacement warranty from the distributor. I first heard of trouble with the second engine on 12/22/16. More than 4 months later. The warranty period had already expired on the replacement engine. If it was bad, we could have got a free replacement within the first 30 days.  In regards to some of the outlandish claims made in this complaint, my family has done business with the technician that replaced the engine in this vehicle for 15 years. Pegasus auto service is an A+ rated Revdex.com business. The original engine in the vehicle was locked up. It would have taken twice the time and triple the money to fix the engine in the vehicle than to just go ahead and replace it with another engine. The fact that they picked up a running vehicle is proof enough that the engine was in fact replaced. It sounds to me that their mechanic is telling them exactly what they want to hear. He would have no way of knowing if the engine had been replaced or not, unless he inspected the VIN plate of the engine that came out of the vehicle. If the VIN plate on the engine that was taken out of the vehicle matched the VIN number on the drivers side dash of the vehicle, then you would know that was the original engine that was in the vehicle. If the VIN plate does not match the VIN number on the vehicle itself, then it is not the original engine in the vehicle. If Mrs. [redacted] can provide me a picture of the VIN plate on the engine that came out of the vehicle, and it does in fact match the VIN number of the vehicle, I will happily reimburse her $400. Otherwise, we are out of the warranty period to get the engine replaced.

Complete lies all around. First of all, you have not been denied to right to purchase the vehicle. You may purchase the vehicle by paying the balance owed in full via cash, or by obtaining your own financing from an outside source. We obtained financing for you, and you essentially told the bank to screw themselves, and that you would not pay for it. Therefore the contract was sent back to me unfunded. Please refer to your paperwork, which I have uploaded. The first page is a conditional delivery agreement. It states that in the event the bank does not complete financing and funding of the contract to the dealer, you are required to return the vehicle to us in the same condition it was received. You have not returned the vehicle. You in fact left it at a repair facility where a bill is now owed for us to take the vehicle. This bill is nearly $200. Not to mention the damage to the vehicle, as you took off the transmission and drive axles and put them in the trunk. Damages have now well exceeded your $500 down payment, so no money will be returned to you. Please refer to the conditional delivery agreement and retail installment contract I have uploaded. To address your complaint that someone threatened to beat you up. This NEVER happened. You know that as well as we do. You're simply making it up to make your story sound good. Unless you have some sort of proof that we have, either recorded voice call, or via email/text, you are committing liable. I request that you immediately redact your comment and cease and desist any further comments made online or in person claiming such. You have also made this comment that someone threatened to beat you up on a Google review. I am requesting that you redact the comment immediately, as you are committing liable, unless you have proof to contradict. This will be our final communication with you. Should you have any further questions, you may contact our legal counsel, [redacted] ###-###-####

I apologize for the late reply. The message slipped away in my emails.

I am aware of the issues [redacted] has had with his vehicle, and I have expressed to him how sorry I am he has had these issues.
[redacted] purchased the vehicle on 10/28. He inspected the vehicle on...

our lot, with the help of his father, who in a later conversation, [redacted] stated his father was a mechanic, who has previously owned his own repair facility. He also test drove the vehicle as well. At the time of purchase, [redacted] & his father deemed the vehicle fit enough for them to purchase it. We would not have offered the vehicle for sale, if we ourselves had not deemed it fit enough to be sold. Mr.Jones & his mechanic father deemed it fit, as did we.

He contacted me a few days later claiming that the vehicle had a bad head gasket. At which time I asked [redacted] to describe what the vehicle was doing, and based on my experience in this industry, what he described to me sounded nothing like what it common or typical with a vehicle with a bad head gasket. I asked [redacted] to have the vehicle towed out to an independent mechanic that we work with, to have it inspected. I stressed to him that the mechanic would not charge him anything for the diagnosis, and once we had determined the problem with the vehicle, I would not pay for in full, but would help him with some of the associated costs of the repair. We have no obligation to do repairs of any kind to a $1,700 AS IS vehicle. I offered this simply in the name of customer service. There's nothing I can do until a proper diagnosis has been made. I can not just take the word of every customer who has an issue with there vehicle, we just do not live in that kind of world unfortunately. Mr.Jones never had the vehicle towed out to the repair facility.

He contacted me a few days later, now claiming the vehicle had a rod knocking, not a bad head gasket. This was quite unbelievable to me, as even the most novice consumer can spot a knocking engine within a few seconds of listening to a vehicle run, no mechanical experience necessary. Rod knocks do not develop overnight. This is something that [redacted] and his father, who is a mechanic surely would have spotted prior to even buying the vehicle. Regardless, I once again asked him to have the vehicle towed out to the shop I referred him to earlier, to have a proper diagnosis, and create a plan from that point. Once again, he was not willing to have the vehicle taken to the shop.

I have made several attempts to help [redacted], yet he was not willing to help himself in this venture. He seemed to want nothing more than his money back, and that is something that we do not do in regards to $1,700 AS IS vehicles. We always attempt to repair the vehicle first. We have no legal obligation to do anything in these matters. AS IS means exactly what it says, especially in that price range of vehicles. Yet we attempted to help Mr.Jones in the name of good customer service.
Too much time has now passed, and I can not be liable for any further damages that may have occurred to the vehicle during this time.

If he would like to get the vehicle diagnosed, free of charge, I am happy to pay for the diagnosis at Pegasus Automotive. I will also let him purchase any needed parts through my accounts, which will save him a great deal on parts. I will also arrange for him to receive my labor rate at Pegasus Automotive, which will save him $25/hour in labor costs. If he would like to take advantage of this, all he has to do is call me, and I am happy to set it up for him.

Here is the invoice from Ohio Steel Recycling for the engine.
