Lucky Line Motors Inc. Reviews (28)

Review: To whom it may concern,I purchased a [redacted] ([redacted]) from Lucky Line Motors on May 28th, 2013. I should preface this complaint with the fact that I have never purchased a vehicle from a dealer before and therefore was a lay person when it came to the intricacies of this transaction. I paid $4,300 cash for the vehicle and asked for the title right then and there. They assured me that it is completely normal for the dealer to hold on to the title and it would be out in the mail in 10 days. I also asked to see the title which they did not oblige. After continued reassurance that this is how it works at dealerships and being naive, I handed over the cash and left with the car. It is now July 11th and I still do not have the title 44 days later. I have called and complained many times and keep getting the run around and lies from multiple people. On the day of purchase they told me the car was a trade in and even showed me the price they paid for the trade in. The first time I called a couple weeks later to inquire about the title they explained that they purchased the car from [redacted] and were waiting on them to send the title. They sold me a car without possessing the title. I also found this alarming since when I purchased the car I was told it was a trade in. I then called [redacted], they were unable to give me specific vehicle information but did confirm that dealers are only able to buy vehicles from them at auction and they hand over the title the day of sale. The next time I called I spoke with [redacted] (title person), she stated she would send me new 30 day tags (which she did) and call me right back with information on what was going on. Never received a call back. Called again and asked to be transferred to the general manager, this person would not give out their name and proceeded to tell me the same thing, that they would call me back with more information. Again, no return call. Called again and asked to speak with the general manager and the voice on the other end said the general manager was not there, but I recognized the voice as the previous days 'general manager' and called him out on it. He apologized and assured me he was the general manger and promised to find out what was going on and call me by 11am today, he also assured me that they are not trying to scam me over a 'measly $4,300 car' and that they have 250 cars. No call. With all of the red flags I am extremely worried that I have been sold a car that is owned by someone else, does not have a title, the dealer is in financial trouble, etc. The dealer illegally sold me a car without having the title in hand. They broke the law again by not allowing me to see the title. There was no reason the title should not have been handed over that day, as there was no lien to be recorded, and I told them I would be registering the car myself. I would return the car and ask for my money back but I have invested over $1,800 into the vehicle (all fluids, general maintenance, stereo). Please advise on what I can do in this situation. Thank you for your time. Sincerely,[redacted]Desired Settlement: Receive title and $300 returned from the original purchase price for this major inconvenience.

Thank you for contacting us about this issue (#[redacted]). We always valued our customer and welcome them for any question or concern they may have.

My son found a car on their website he wanted to buy, or at least look at. Before we even looked at the car, I asked the salesman [redacted], the dealer takes care of ALL necessary items to register the car in MD, where we reside. "Yes, we take care of everything." Also told [redacted] we would NOT be obtaining financing through the dealer. Great, he replied.
We went back a few days later to sign the paper work and take the car, I again asked [redacted], we won't have to do anything for the transfer or registration in MD, correct? Nope, we do it all for you he again replied.
As we were signing all the paperwork, the title/tag/finance woman said "when you get the car inspected in MD, bring me the inspection certificate and I will mail to to MD MVA, Had it been just me buying the car I would have walked out then and taken my check back to the bank.
Fast forward to the MD inspection. We knew the window tint was too dark and would have to be removed. but I didn't know there was NO catalytic converter on the car. I know, I should have checked, since I was already leary of dealer, but it also had a VA inspection sticker on it so I thought it was just the tint that wouldn't pass in MD. I would never have purchased a car that needed exhaust repairs. Bottom line, they are selling cars with FRAUDULENT Virginia inspections. I will deal with that as it needs to be dealt with.
The first visit there we told [redacted] we would NOT be financing through the dealer, he replied great.
About 2 weeks after the purchase my son received THREE different letters of credit refusal for purchasing this car. So even though we told them we DID NOT want financing, they applied in his name anyway. Of course, he will be watching his credit closely now, who knows what else they applied for.
I will not recommend Lucky Line Motors but I will discourage anyone who asks.

Sales person was good, but the sales manager was very rude and doesnt have very good p.r. skils.

I have bought 2 vehicles from Lucky Line Motors and have been extremely happy with the vehicles I purchased.Good prices and good staff.

Bought a 2007 [redacted] at a reasonable price. The sales manager and people were very accomodating and understanding. No pressure buying. Hardworking and patient guys that does good for this customer. I'm loving my beamer. Best car ever owned. :-)

Review: [redacted]I purchased a vehicle [redacted] from Lucky Lines Motor on 12/19/2014 with a deposit of $2000. 4 weeks I receive a call from [redacted] stating there was something left out on the application and I needed to come in and sign it right away. I explained to him my grandmother had just passed and I would not be able to come it right then. However he showed no remorse at all and stated I need to still come in. I arrive the very next day. Often getting there I sat for over 30 minutes while the staff including [redacted] stood whispering (while one gentlemen kept looking at me) which I knew it was about me. After sitting for 30 plus minutes, [redacted] called me into the finance office. He started off by saying " Well I called you in to resign paper work, however the finance company called back yesterday and said they can no longer finance you because you haven't been on your job long enough, and your not full time because you are a "temp" working for [redacted] and[redacted]. I explained to [redacted] that the company I worked for was a temp agency but I was full time and I have been with the company over a year. He explained, that the credit company who was going to finance me which was [redacted] still to not recognize me as being fulltime, they looked at it as being "temp". There was nothing else I could do to keep the car. I explained to [redacted] that I had my two little girls with me and I had no way to get home. He agreed to allow me to take the car home and return it on the 2nd. My father and I returned on the 2nd, however I did not leave the car. I had previous contacted a lawyer who had advise me I had a case and after explaining everything that I had been through told me that I didn't have to return the car because they had my deposit and because I am in the process of suing [redacted]. However [redacted] called me once again a few days later and told me that I had to return the car since [redacted] didn't finance me the car belonged to Lucky Line Motors. I told him that I would be there by the end of the week (which was the week of 01/09/2015) because my grandmothers funeral was Wednesday 01/07/2015. He agreed and the call was ended. Due to the fact I have missed so much time from work traveling back and forth to Lucky Line Motors, I let my dad [redacted] and my mother [redacted] along with my cousin [redacted]. take the car back for me. I called over that morning 01/09/2015 around 9:40 am and spoke to a gentlemen by the name of [redacted] (I believe). I explained to him that I would not be returning the car, but in fact my father was bringing it back for me. I gave permission for him to sign any paper work needed and for them to give my father [redacted] my deposit back and if [redacted] had any other question he could call me at the number he has on file for me. The gentlemen agreed and the call ended. Ruffle around 12:15 [redacted] called me and said my father was here returning the car but I could not get my deposit back because I did not leave the car on the 01/02/2015 when me and my father came in. This was never discussed with me when my father and I were there on the 2nd. So, now I am out of $2000 and still no car.

[redacted] knew what type of finance company this was because he stated they had done this many times before to other customers. So my question to him was, " Why did you put me with the company if you knew this was what they did to customers". Not only does it make [redacted] look bad, it now makes Lucky Line Motors look bad as well. I feel I was taken advantage of, I came in on my own, with no male figure when purchasing this car. [redacted] is very unprofessional when it comes to dealing with issues. With Lucky Line Motors its not what's best for the customer. I feel I was taken full advantage of and I truly believe I deserve my deposit back due to the fact it is fully their responsibility to find their customer trustworthy finance companies. [redacted] stated to me and my father that we should go after [redacted] because it was discrimination against me, because I had followed all of the protocol and I had a job so there was no reason they should have return my finance application. [redacted] stated the company does this every so many months and he believes it is due to the finance company running out of funds. That is all valuable information to me, however I still don't feel as if I should be the one suffering because they assigned me to this finance company. When they return my finance application I feel Lucky Line should have found another company for me, instead of making me feel like all of this was my fault. However that is exactly how I feel. Upon doing research there are a lot of other customers who have had bad experience with Lucky Line Motors and [redacted]. I am going to push this further because even though [redacted] is the reason behind all of this Lucky Line Motors and [redacted] knew what type of company this was before I signed any paper work and no one made me aware of this until after this all had taken place back on 01/02/2015. Something has to be done, so that no one else has to go through this. I will not rest until I have answers and resolve this problem no matter how long it takes or how much money it takes...Lucky Line Motors "[redacted]" and [redacted] are now FULLY RESPONSIBLE!! The worse customer service I have experienced in my 31 years.Desired Settlement: I want my deposit of $2000, (I feel that is the less they can do for everything they have put me through) back and I want Lucky Line Motors to agree never to use [redacted] finance company again. Hopefully this will prevent this from happening to someone else.

TO WHOM THIS MAY CONCERN: We are writing in response to customer complaint Revdex.com Case # [redacted] -Lucky Line Motors vs [redacted]

The customer completed and signed the credit application on 12/12/2014, which Lucky Line submitted to the lender, Consumer PortfolioServices (CPS) for credit approval. The lender (CPS) returned the contract documents back to us for the following reasons: 1) Income upfront $2100 , verified $935 average 2) Buyer is a temporary employee and has been on current assignment for two months Therefore, she provided inaccurate information on her credit application about her income and employment and we were unable to get herapproved with other lenders. Her down payment was $2000 and she wrote us check # 134 on 12/19/L014. The check which she wrote to us wasreturned by our bank on 12/22/2014, due to Non-Sufficient Funds. Our accounting office contacted her about the NSF check. She mailed us a Cashier Check in the amount $1100, which she still owes us a balance of$900.00 and the NSF fee of $35.00. As you know, it is illegal to write a bad check in the State of Virginia. She never paid the balance from the down payment which was $935.00. We explained to her clearly that she had to return our vehicle on January 02,2015, and we had her sign a letter. First, she did not return the vehicle on the date that she was to have returned the vehicle. Second, she put an additional 2000 miles on our vehicle. Respectfully yours, [redacted]

Review: I was promised a deal would be final after two days of negotiation. I was instructed to return to the dealer on 3/8/14 to complete the contract and sign. They made copies of all required documents and the finance manger informed me that the down payment would be 1500 and my payments would be around the 300 dollar range but he just needed to put everything together and that I should return Saturday 3/8/14 around 11 am to sign the contract and pay my down payment. I returned on Saturday and met with my salesman and the finance manager and a women made copies of the last requested documents. The finance ask me for more time and could I give him a few more hours. I agreed and then left and returned around 4 pm. The sales manager informed me that the other manager sold the truck earlier in the day from under "us" and he was sorry. There was a verbal confrontation between myself and the sales manger that sold the truck which almost turned physical. The truck was to be purchased for my 16 year old son who was present at the time and witnessed the event. Several of the dealer members came outside and apologized and informed me that sales manger is an " [redacted] and these type of actions are not uncommon with himDesired Settlement: I want a vehicle of the same type with the same terms as agreed upon. I was informed by my salesman and the original finance manger that my loan was approved.

Response:

The customer was asked to leave a deposit by the salesman. The customer said he didn't have any money with him. So therefore the truck in mention was still showing for sale. So the [redacted] that sold the truck had no idea there was a pending deal. When a customer leaves a deposit the car is saved as a deal and is removed from our inventory as well as online. we tried to sell this customer a truck of the same make and year. He was very upset and caused a problem in our showroom. We called the customer over the next few days and agreed to sell him a different truck. He stated he was coming in to purchase this truck. We sent pictures and agreed to give him the same deal as the original truck he wanted to purchase. The customer has still yet to return to the dealership. We would gladly sell him the truck we agreed on if he were to return.

Review: I purchased a [redacted] from Lucky Line Motors on June 26th. As the salesman and I went over the cars features, I brought to his attention that the convertible top would not open and close properly and that an indicator light came on to take vehicle to the repair shop. He informed me that the battery caused the problem. Problem persisted; he then informed me that the flap in the truck needed to be position, which worked be purchase. Less than a week after the purchase, the same problem is occurring, except frequently. I contacted the salesman, [redacted] regarding the problem, which is that the flap, which a $300.00 plus part in addition to labor, needs to be replaced. He did not respond, so I sent a certified letter to the owner. Still, no action offered. The salesman knew of the problem and mislead me into thinking that the issue was resolved. My convertible to continues to malfunctionDesired Settlement: The passenger side flap needs to be replaced. It malfunctioned at the dealership and the salesman knew of the problem, but he and the owner have not contacted me to take action. So I am stuck with a SL 500 Mercedes whose top intermittent opens and closes, So I am reluctant to drive because it may or may not open and close properly. I contacted both within 30 days of my purchase.

August 19, 2015 Revdex.com Complain # [redacted]

[redacted] TO WHOM THIS MAY CONCERN: Lucky Line Motors, Inc., received your recentcomplaint from Mr. [redacted]. Our salesperson, [redacted], stated to us that it is difficult to knowexactly where everything is located on different makes and models, however, states that he was able to find out where the dip stick was located and toremind the customer that the oil was brand new. The salesperson, [redacted], explained to Mr. [redacted] thatthe cause of the malfunction could be two things. Please remind the customer [redacted], told Mr.[redacted] that he is not a mechanic. Thevehicle has a battery located in the trunk specifically used for operating thehard top retractable roof. He explainedthat the battery could be dead and perhaps needs to be replaced. The other reason for the malfunction could bethe black flaps located under the rear hatch door of the trunk. Over time (remember this is a 2006 vehicle)the flaps loose compression and tend to sag down, triggering a sensor whichwill not allow the retractable hard top to function. In order to bypass this problem, one mustmanually open the trunk and push the flaps back into proper position and thenclosed the trunk and then proceed to electronically retract the hard top. Oursalesperson, [redacted] thoroughly explained all of this to Mr. [redacted] before heproceeded to purchase the vehicle without any hesitation. We took pride in knowing we detailed the vehicleinside and out. We repaired the dent onthe hood of the car before he took delivery of possession. Our salesperson would like to remind thecustomer that at the time of purchase the only two concerns were the detailingand the dent when he left the dealership. The customer knows he drove over a hundred miles away, specifically for this vehicle. Thesalesperson, [redacted] also printed out a 300 mile radius on [redacted] for him atthe time of the negotiation. Clearlywhen he left the dealership all the problems and all the concerns were alladdressed and resolve for the customer. We respond to this complaint on 8/17/2015 via email: [redacted] I appreciate your time and consideration to this issueSincerely,

Consumer

Response:

Mam, Lucky line sent a very nice reponse, at least in appearance, though consisting of misrepresentations. I did not drive over 100 miles to their lot for the car, I was actually on my way to another dealer and decided to drop by. They are simply deflecting from the truth. And as I stated in my original complaint, I shared my concerns of the problem with [redacted] then, and again in less than 27 days. He mentioned that the battery could be the problem, which is was not and still is not the issue. In addition, he did not even know the name of the part, I introduced the"Flap" issue to him in my text. There was no offer to reject from Luckline; thus I am employing you not to close this complaint unless I have accepted any concessions and/ or resolution. Moreover, the $400.00 dollars was just for the part; I was actually paying the additional 150 for installation. And, they failed to mention that I sent a certified letter to the owner, for which I have the tracking info, to which I did not get a responseFurhtermore, I plan to use social media to make others aware, so that they can make their own decisions regarding automoble purchases from Luckyline. A 22K purchase, yet no offer made to resole the issue, speaks volumes and I submit that others should be aware. Again, I reiterate "Please do not close this complaint."Best regards, [redacted]
