Lyoness America Inc Reviews (26)

Review: Last month I purchased a "package" on their web site that was supposed to include an E-learning center. I was charged for the package and was sent some pamphlets but never given access to the E-learning center. I called the customer service number twice and both times was told that the E-learning center, which they now call the "Business Academy" is being updated and cannot be accessed and they have no idea when it will be available. I've sent several emails to them asking for access or a refund and the emails have not been responded to.Desired Settlement: I would like to have access to the Business Academy that I paid for or have someone from the corporation contact me to tell me how to get the training.

To whom it may concern,

The Member is alleging that she was mislead at the time that she entered the program. The Lyoness Membership Agreement is very clear. Lyoness offers a free Membership without any purchase requirements. We are in communication with the Member.

I feel cheated.Desired Settlement: All moneys spent on Booked units returned.

The terms and conditions for participation in the Lyonessloyalty program are clear and agreed to by each member when they enroll. Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[redacted]: Since it is legally possible for "positions" with units to be sold ,we respectfully ask Lyoness to purchase our position(s) for the moneys we paid 2 years ago. It should not be difficult for them to find someone that would buy it for that, since we have under us 2 premium members both with many UNITS already in the National India accounting program. Thank You again. [redacted] & [redacted]

Response:

Dear [redacted],We have addressed the concerns of [redacted] and [redacted] in a prior communication, and are again addressing them here. Lyoness membership is free, and members are under no obligation to makea purchase of any kind. When [redacted] and [redacted] became members they acknowledged and agreed to the Lyoness GeneralTerms and Conditions. It is clearly stated there that they had 3 days after the date of the transaction to canceltheir membership. As of this date, they have been members for over 2 years. When [redacted] and [redacted] decided to place an order, they had to read andacknowledge, by checking the boxes, the Acknowledgment of General Terms andConditions of Order/Agreement where it clearly states “that after placing apartially paid Gift Card Order, the payment is non-refundable subject toapplicable, if any, state, and federal regulations.”Additionally, at no time does Lyoness refer to “position” or “investment” in any documentswhether in print or online. The Acknowledgment Agreement clearly states, “that a partially paid Gift Card Orderand/or a fully paid Gift Card Order for the entire purchase price does notrepresent an investment.”As previously stated in our original response, we invite [redacted] and [redacted] to contact Lyoness directly. I am confident that we can resolve this matter to everyone’s satisfaction. Thank you. Best regards,Compliance Department[redacted]

Response:

Dear [redacted], Lyoness arranged a phone conversation with [redacted] on June *, 2015 to discuss her reasons for arefund request as well as her terms. We agreed to keep the lines of communication open and attempt to negotiate a mutually agreeable settlement. At the same time Lyoness and [redacted] were speaking, her husband [redacted] submitted another complaint to the Revdex.com, stating he would“go public” if the offer was not to his liking. Lyoness had no choice but to view this complaint as a potential threat and therefore shared [redacted]’s complaintwith the Lyoness Legal Department. This matter is currently being addressed by our legal department for any legal action that can and/or shouldbe taken against the [redacted]s.This Complaint with the Revdex.com has been reviewed internally and by legal counsel. The Complaint ismeritless. Any future communications from the [redacted]’s should beforwarded directly to our legal counsel for their handling. Regards,[redacted]Lyoness America, Inc.[redacted]

Review: My wife and I feel deceived. We signed up for this company called [redacted] over 7 months ago. This is a shopping organization where members can receive cashback among other benefits. My wife became a premium member in which we had to give a $3,000.00 down payment in order to book shopping units. One advantage of this is that [redacted] allows you to get involved in international booking offers as well. We then gave them another $10,800.00 (besides the total of $3,300.00 we had to pay for gift cards as well) for booking offers in India. Supposedly, after India would open up, new members there would be automatically signed up under us and under others who booked units there as well. We were under the impression that India should of opened up by now and over 7 months has gone by and India still never opened up. Then I started getting the feeling that the United States was developing much slower than they hoped. I was asking around different merchants if they were seeing benefits from loyal shoppers and they said none at all! Then I searched on their website and found that Walmart backed out too (keep in mind this was one of their big selling points for us-if its good enough for Walmart its good enough for me!!!)!!! Meanwhile all my fears were confirmed when I read an email sent from a higher up at [redacted], [redacted](from the Presidents team)that he was trying to boost everyones confidence and soothe their disappointment after year 2013 which many felt was unsuccessful and in his words, "After an extremely successful 2012, this year was a reminder for all of us that we still have a lot to do." All Im asking from [redacted] is a refund of $13,800.00.Desired Settlement: A refund of $3,000.00 for United States bookings in addition to $10,800.00 for bookings in India.

Response:

I have been in contact with the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and they are working toward resolving the issue.

Sincerely,

Review: I am a Lyoness member as is my wife, but we are done with this scam. Being told about how all of the stores we shop at were joining Lyoness (they arent; and one, [redacted], left the system), that we can use our shopping card at the stores (we cant, we have to purchase gift cards and the like from the various stores websites) and that we can build a huge investment vehicle into which we put a large amount of money (nothing is happening with the money we put in; it isnt growing). In the 18 months we have been a part of the program and we made no money from them. Other people were supposed to join and be put in under us and money would flow up to us, much like a pyramid scheme. However no money ever came through the system to us.What were we told that was accurate? Even when we called in to talk with your customer service lackeys we were told to talk with the individual who sold us the "chance" to join, although that person was just someone who met us at a mall and we have no idea where that person is now. On 4/**/14 I tried to just look at my account, but in order to do so I had to accept updated and revised terms and conditions which were never sent to me.I dont see why getting our money back should be an issue when the system obviously isnt working for us. This leads me to believe it truly is a scam and that the only ones who make money are the owners of Lyoness. Were not asking for any other funds to be given to us, only a return of our funds totaling $1176.48.Desired Settlement: All we are asking for is the money we initially put in and the few dollars they agree is ours due to the minimal savings we made.

Response:

Lyoness is a loyalty shopping program. Our members have the ability to shop with certain merchants and receive special benefits for such shopping. Lyoness has thousands of merchants that participate in this loyalty program. Membership is free. There are no requirements to make a purchase in order to become a Member. At no time does Lyoness ever promote or allege that the loyalty program is an investment. Lyoness is sorry to hear that this member is not satisfied with the loyalty shopping program and the benefits that he received. However, the participation documents he received and agreed to upon his enrollment are clear as to the benefits and the terms of participation. Lyoness is not a scam or pyramid. The customer service team is not a bunch of "lackeys." Despite these erroneous allegations contained in this Revdex.com complaint, and although the member chose to make Partially Paid Gift Card Order purchases and he was informed clearly that those purchases were not refundable, Lyoness has contacted the member and presented this information and the matter has been resolved to everyone’s satisfaction. Feel free to contact me should you require any additional information. Thank you Best Regards, [redacted]

Review: In March of 2013, my mother and I were told about this company and how great it was. We were told how easy it would be for us to make money and that we would have a great support group to help us make money though this company. Neither of these thing happened, In fact after a few months they stopped all contact completely. We paid them $3,000 each for a total of $6,000. They told us everything that we wanted to hear, just to pick us up and drop us. They said many thing about the company that sounded great, but were flat out lies. We know realize that this is a pyramid scheme and are shocked at easily it was for them to take our money and take advantage of us.

I sent a complaint to them and received a conformation number on 12/**/14

I have since contacted them twice once on 3/**/15 and once one 4/**/15

Both times I got the same response of "Oh!, I am so sorry that nobody has gotten back to you. I will make sure that you are contacted by someone within two weeks." Which once again was a lie.

I am feed up with their lies and neglect.Desired Settlement: I want a refund for each account.

[redacted] $3,000

[redacted] $3,000

for a total refund of $6,000

Response:

Dear [redacted],We are in receipt of the complaint filed by [redacted]. [redacted] and her mother joined a shopping loyalty program more than two yearsago. She was under no obligation to make any purchase of any kind. However, she made the choice to place a gift card order subject to the termsand conditions provided and subscribed to at the time of purchase. Shewas afforded the opportunity to cancel her order, but she made the choice notto do so. Now that two years have gone by, she is attempting to cancelher agreement and obtain a refund despite the fact that she knew and agreedthat there would be no refund after the cancellation period had ended. Clearly, this complaint contradicts what she knew and agreed to 2 yearsago. [redacted] has falsely categorized Lyoness as a "pyramidscheme". Lyoness is a global shopping community with shoppingmembers and merchants located throughout the United States and around theworld. Despite the filing of this complaint and mischaracterizing thebusiness, Lyoness is happy to discuss the matter further to clear up anymisconceptions and options that she may have available to her. [redacted]can contact the compliance department via email: [redacted] to set up atime to discuss further.Sincerely,[redacted]
