Bought my MJ unit a little over days agoPrepaid for a year service with my CC and go to download the free app to use my phone number registered thru MJ on my cell phone and get some it n India that tells me that I don't get to use this service I already paid for and that days ago the company changed its policy to a or year plan onlyGet online with MJ and she tells me I have to renew my subscription for my phone that I only payed to port my phone number that everyone else does for free ($charge) and my service has expired but can pick it up and call anyone RIGHT NOWSo if it's expired how is it that I can use my phoneI told her that her info is incorrect and she gives me the number to India again to get it handledI am sick of US company's using out of country service reps that can't tell you a single state that runs the Mississippi! Voting for Donald Trump, he will handle this for us!

I have been a customer of Magic Jack for several years, and a few days ago, I added the Iphone app off ITunesAll I have to say is it is amazing, and I should have done it ages agoBefore writing this, I read customer complaints for my own interest I have had the odd occasion to need some assistance, and do it by live chat My experience has been very courteous operators, well informed for the minor problems I had, and resolved immediatelyWhen the company first started out, sometimes the reception was not the best, but it has improved greatly For the price, you can't beat it, and I have recommended it to a lot of people stars from me

RIP OFF for Canadian customers! The website info doesn't include the fact that you cannot keep your own phone numberIn fact, after purchasing the unit and hooking it up, I discovered that the only phone numbers available were in Victoria, B.Cand since I live in Kelowna, B.C., all incoming local callers are technically long distanceDespite this deception, I was unable to convince customer service rep to provide free return shipping

Magic Jack has the worst customer service I've had problems that never got solved even after calling several times and waiting on hold for a very long time .I finally gave up and lost my money I will never ever deal with them ,

There are million ways in which you can send message to anyone in the world I called them and asked them to transfer that amount to international calling featureAnd they refused to do thatThey instead asked me to use text messaging feature!!!! And there was not even an apologetic tone in their chatPlain and simple we cannot do any of thatSo I paid for service that was not what I thought it was...and never got refund or transfer of balance

I am being forced to listen to a recording every time I call out because I had one magic jack and it expired and bought another now I have to listen to a recording saying I need to renew the expired number I have trying to explain since I don't want that expired number I still have to listen to the recording about the expired number, before I can get a dial tone when calling out What if I had an emergency! Its takes time to listen this I am paid up until on the device I bought after the first one

I have had MJ for a little over a yearfirst year MJ, next year MJ plus1st year no problemafter 6months into the 2nd year it diesi called customer service and they can only report the problemmoney back is only after days so I could not qualifygranted it is very affordable, however they do not stand behind their product at allbasically a throw awaymine lasted for months.other magic jack's,who knows? if an affordable( in my case, average,$per month) temporary,disposable phone service is what your looking for, it might be worth a try for youi would not recommend this service myself simply because of their very poor and cavalier attitude towards customer servicei paid for a product for a year service and only got months, and their attitude is basically nothing I can do about itit's not the price, it's the very poor,non existing customer service

I bought my magic jack plus from Best Buy with a one year subscription in February,
I tried to make a phone call on September 28, 2014, and I couldn't complete the call, because magic jack interrupted the call and said that I need to renew my magic jack plus, remind you this was suppose to be a year subscriptionI called magic jack and she told me that the magic jack expires in months, but when I bought the magic jack it was written on the box year subscriptionMagic Jack is running advertisementBeware of Magic Jack!!! Have used for 3-years Works, but hardware is garbage It appears to be a scam I called to have a SPARE module configured for my existing number They did it I was assured that the year subscription with the new one would apply and received "yes" Now they are trying to make me pay for another year *** scam if you ask me

This is a rip off, can't talk to them, have to do online chats Cancelled within days, but have to send unit [email protected] my expense to get a refund Every thing they do has a service fee Had to pay $plus fee to port my number to them, and pay $+ fee to port my number out of MagicJack Couldn't talk on the phone and use the internet at the same time, as the phone conversation was so broken up you couldn't hear the conversation Deleted my Credit Card number from their site, and they still charged me.??? I am glad to be done with them, I plan to run this unit over with my car...what a mistake I'm sure if I did send it back for the refund, I'd have to pay fees for that too Don't even try this rip off outfit

I don't advise you to use this company!!!! They charged me to port my number & charge me to keep my own number! What ever you do don't port your phone number to magicjack!!! I ported my *** number in & I haven't been able to port it out to another provider!!! The reason given by the other provider is that magicjack has my original *** number listed as a vanity number & vanity numbers can't be ported

They are an unscrupulous company, the product really doesn't work!!!

I was not able to record a voice mail greeting, after paying a professional to record a message we were not able to access the voice mail in order to record it. When you try to contact Magic Jack, well, that's when you realize they rather train a team of con artists making $8/hour to answer the phone and transfer you to an extension no one answers!

After several attempts, over 20 calls in three weeks, hours on hold just trying to reach a manager or a supervisor who could help solve the problem, my opinion and conclusion is:

It's a shameless scam! These people should be arrested ! From the upper management to the little con-artists answering the phones to complete the scam!

Don't buy it ! Don't be another victim !

Remember, you get what you pay for, even though there are inexpensive but decent and honest products out there, this is NOT one of them!

Get online with MJ and she tells me I have to renew my subscription for my phone that I only payed to port my phone number that everyone else does for free ($10 charge) and my service has expired but can pick it up and call anyone RIGHT NOW. So if it's expired how is it that I can use my phone. I told her that her info is incorrect and she gives me the number to India again to get it handled. I have been a customer with magic jack on/[redacted] for a couple of years. Yesterday, my device stopped working out of the blue. So this morning, I went online and spoke with a customer service agent "[redacted]" on the online chat to try and resolve my issue. I tried the same steps over and over that he requested for me to do and then he asked if he could remotely go on my computer and fix the issue. I declined as I do not know this person and/or trust anyone to remotely access my computer. After over an hour trying to fix the issue and then [redacted] made a comment that it is my end and not the device that is having the issue. I said it is the device. So finally, he said he will send me out a new device, but I would have to send him money for shipping and handling and administration fees. I then asked to speak with his manager because I am getting frustrated that I would have to pay for them to fix the issue. Plus, how would I know the next device would work properly. After I continued to ask to speak with his manager, he ended the conversation abruptly saying that due to me not communicating with him anymore he ended the conversation. Which is a lie. I was talking to him but he ended it once I asked to speak with his manager and get their information. I then called from a families phone and I was hung up on the phone as well. This is very unprofessional. I tried to look up emails for customer serve or even someone higher up, but nothing. No help, just a frustrated customer who has no phone now. This is not fair. A company should have to have directories so the customer can talk to the appropriate person when they have a concern and/or issue.
