When I started out with Createspace it was great but it had also just been bought by Amazon Evidently Amazon left then the way they were for a while but this past year things have changed greatly Now because I accidentally sent the revision for my hard copy of my first book that I went with *** for The ISBN number doesn't match their so they have suspended the first book in my series I sent them everything I could to prove the book is mine, they've only had the book for about three years and selling it and have five other books by me, they are telling me it will take to hours to resolve this I'm hearing that for some it's taking longer than that I feel like this is more of a competition thing for Amazon than anything else Anyway I started billing them $an hour at noon today and will continue to bill them that amount until they resolve this to my satisfactionI will send them the bill through email, snail mail certified, and through my attorney Oh, when I talked to a young woman at 11:00AM today she saw my email where I sent everything I could to prove the book was mine and told me that I had shown I owned the book but it would still take that long to process the whole issue and remove the suspension I'm also concerned with the fact that people tell me they have bought and read my book but very rarely have I seen anything from it and when I did it was very little Funny because a lot of people are selling it on eBay and Amazon has outsiders selling on Amazon I have to leave a star rating for this company and my choice would be minus but since that isn't possible I have to leave a

Poor Customer Service/Follwith systemic issues
I have had a long standing relationship with CreateSpace over the past years, and we have done considerable business which I am pleased withHowever, they have frequent errors with their publishing platform (superfluous validation requests, deductions from royalties in error, projects disappearing from distribution channels, et cetera)This would be problematic enough, but their customer support is poor and inconsistentI have made several requests regarding the technical issues that they presentTo date, I have rarely been met with a resolutionThe greater majority of the time I am given a vague offer of "someone will get back to you"This promise is never fulfilled and the errors remain unammendedThis wastes the limited time I have to devote to the work that I do for CS, and moreover grants me no possibility of any hopes of future resolution

I am a children's book author with a large following and have sold hundreds if not thousands of books, all printed through CreateSpaceI just recently published a Christmas book and scheduled an event (book release) for the Saturday after ThanksgivingI placed the order on November I just reached out to them today (a week later) as I have not heard anything from themThey extended their lead time and never told us about itSo now I have a book release but I won't have any books...not to mention all of the preorders that I have already sold
As if this isn't bad enough, whenever I do finally get an order, half the books (one time 80/books had print errors and had to be replacedI couldn't sell themI have found a new printer and will NEVER EVER print through them ever againThey are horrible beyond reasonPlease be kind to yourself and don't use them

Do not use CreateSpace or Kindle Direct Publishing KDP to publish your bookI did and they violated their own terms of service and closed my account
Recently CreateSpace announced that they were combining with Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), an Amazon company, to self-publish booksThis complaint, as the two companies, is about both organizations, as I received notice that my CreateSpace account was closed and that I would not be allowed to open a new account on KDP
Some time ago, a family member opened a CreateSpace account in my nameI took posession of this account and changed the account details so that it reflected my ownership, but CreateSpace contacted us and closed the account because it violated their terms of service, somehowEven though I was the owner of the account, CreateSpace closed it down because they considered it a duplicate account

First of all, I gave a glowing review for CreateSpace to my clients and personal experienceThey were helpful and knowledgeableNow, I am in a quagmire because we had requested a printed proof of one of the books we were working onOn our end, we have had to make MINOR adjustments to the interior text in the fileWe had re-uploaded the INTERIOR file and then that's when the problems began
First, they downgraded the resolution of the cover when there was no prior issue beforehandIf there was, it did not hurt it on the printed proof the first timeHowever, after we re-uploaded the file and left the cover file alone, that's when they made changesTo fix it they said the cover's measurements are way too bigI've been formatting the last several books with this cover size and all of a sudden they're doing this? I published a book with createspace in February 2018, title ID: XXXXXXX- 'Lil Chefs' Cookbook : Recipes for Your Toy OvenWhen I first published it, I noticed in the member dashboard in my createspace account, that the title was nearly immediately listed as 'suppressed'When I contacted them as to what that meant, they implied copyright infringement, which was falseThis action on their part kept my book from being available for saleI spent two days trying to prove to them that I was the authorI also submitted an official statement (at their request, which I immediately did), indicating that I was the sole author and creator of all the content in the bookIt was resolved, or so I thought Fast forward to today, May 3rd, I just happen by chance to discover that the print version of this title was not available on amazonWhen I logged

Company let a fraudulent order go through, then sent blank CD's and wouldn't give any assistance on how to refund money
Fraud order date was 10/30/The items ordered were two copies of "Spring Uplifting" CD'sOrder ID#XXXXXXXXXThe fraudulent order was placed with Create Space, then mailed to meOnce I saw the charge on my checking account, I immediately contacted the company for helpThey said they would file a fraud reportI called back again to check in on the order and refundThe company said they don't have any information on the order and cannot issue a refundI asked for the billing name, address, phone number, email address, ectThe company could not give me any informationI then asked how to send back to fraud orderThey said to throw the CD's awayI asked, " you don't want $worth of CD's" They said no and to get rid of themThe customer service could not provide any information or help with a refund

When I was updating Adobe Flash regarding proofing of the cover of my book, Personal Monsters, my title was suppressed without warning
When I got word that the cover of the print was ready for perusal for the print PDF cover, I found I had to install Adobe FlashI did and after when that happened, I had found that 'Personal Monsters' was suppressed due to some arbitrary decision on CreateSpace's part without any PROOF that this was published anywhere elseIt isn't published anywhere else! It was only published through CreateSpace and AmazonI have no idea where they got that! I sent them the proof of my Copyright right away, only to be told by customer service that it will take them to business daysAnd they just sent it! Now I will lose sales and can't get reimbursed the damaged/screwed up copies of my book due to them arbitrarily suppressing my book! This is ridiculous! They can do it on the fly but then wait business days to "review"

I should not have used CreaetSpace to self publish booksTheir organization is sub par and I should have used a better paid service instead

CreatSpace fraudulently charged our account and will not respond to requests from us or our bank to resolve
On March CreatSpace fraudulently charged our bank card for $3,without approval I called to inquire and was told the charge was for books sent to Texas - we are located in ChicagoThe person on the phone said they would investigate and recommended I call my bank to have them challenge the charges My bank challenged the charges on March and has received no action from CreateSpace since Additionally, I called again and they refused to tell me anything regarding the charges

On April th I received an email from DMCA copyright saying that they are removing the availability of the title (Landing on Your Feet) through their system until this matter is resolvedThe issue was resolved before the third party reached out to create spaceThe third party (a white man) said something to createspace that made them stop selling my bookCreate space refuses to tell me what the third party said so that I can defend myself,which is something I feel I have the right to knowAfter conducting their research createspace reinstated my book in an email that they sent me on April 20th the email that said: "after reviewing your response, we have reinstated your account and we will once again accept your book for possible publication.Present day and they still have not reinstated my book.All of the communication done with the "validation team" was done via email and with someone differen

This company has completely gone to *** the last monthsI have had the same problems other people have mentioned here and that are listed all over their Facebook pageThis includes having to prove that my book is mine (which they have been printing for years!) and then refusing to close out my book when they refused to resolve the issue so I could print my book elsewhereIf fact, not only did they refuse to close out my book, they continue to sell it without my permission, and then they closed out an entirely different account shared with another author - and books we had there

I know personally of several cases of purchases of my book that I was not paid forThe royalties were never creditedWhen I contacted CreateSpace, they told me I would have to contact the purchasers, and ask them to provide a print number, as well as the date of purchase and other informationIt is not only not possible to get this (the books were given away as gifts), it is also very embarrassing to have to harass people to give me this information because I didn't get paidI should not have to chase down my own royalty payments
I spoke on the phone at one point with someone who was able to see my sales, and he advised a delay in Holiday reportings from AmazonHowever, weeks have passedToday I received an email stating that if I was unwilling to get this information, they would not help me
