I am rejecting this response because: I understand Manta has terminated their employee who has been harassing me. How are they ensuring the now "former" employee will not harass me in the future? It sounds like the company is planning on continuing to spoof their actual phone number when contacting businesses. If so, why is the company going to continue this shady practice? Also, I am still receiving emails and phone calls from automobile transport companies who believe I requested an auto transport quote due to the fraudulent activity of the "terminated" employee. What has Manta done to solve this issue?

I am rejecting this response because:  This is a boilerplate, generic response by Manta.  I signed up for a ONE YEAR listing service with Manta (July 2015 to July 2016).  Manta auto-renewed this listing service on August 1, 2016 without my authorization.  Manta is unable to show that it specifically disclosed to me the auto-renew provision before I signed up for this service and is unable to show that I agreed to the auto-renew feature.  Unless Manta can show that I AFFIRMATIVELY agreed to auto-renew this service, I should not have to pay for a service that was NOT AUTHORIZED by me and that I DO NOT WANT.  I want a refund of the $428.93 that Manta charged to my credit card WITHOUT my authorization.

I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 12613267, and find the resolution is less than satisfactory to me. Why? Because it does not change the fact that these companies are publishing personal information without consideration for privacy. The MANTA site allow individuals to claim ownership of businesses without verification of whether or not it is the legal owner. To place others in danger physically, financially and legally does not warrant a "24 hour removal and indefinite disclosure of search engines removal" for individuals working in the domestic violence field, victims of crime and substance abusers. These companies should be held responsible for removing ALL information throughout, regardless of their third-party acquisition. Regards,
