Marketing Concepts Reviews (41)

Have a 3 day 2 night stay for two that we purchased at an auction to benefit a local group. Have now filled out the information on the website twice with no correspondence from them. It says it would email us the info within 48 hours. Why isn't there a phone number to call to talk to a human?

We sent our cash etc got the reservation and confirmation for the hotel for Las Vegas but we haven't received our airfare voucher as of yet and we are supposed to fly out on February 28 how our we supposed to book our flight without the voucher and haven't received the coupon book either
Can someone please get back to us since we can't get a hold of you either by phone or email

I want the trip that I was promised! We received a trip through My Reservation Request Marketing Concepts ( trip for two, 3 days 2 nights in Vegas) after spending over $1000 on a bedroom set at Palmers Furniture Store, the trip was our incentive to spend that much. We received the paperwork and submitted our request with a $30 cashiers check and WE HAVE NOT HEARD A WORD from Marketing Concepts! We submitted our request in March 2016. It has been almost a full year since we've submitted our request and we still haven't heard a thing from them!!! No email was ever sent to us (even checked our junk mail and there's nothing!), no paperwork was ever mailed to us, no phone call was ever received. NOTHING. I am extremely disapointed and I want my money back!!...such a scam!!!

Review: Won a Silver state getaway vacation package for two to Las Vegas at a raffle from a fundraising event. My vacation package from Silver State Getaway (Marketing Concepts) Included 3 brochures. 1.certificate for voucher for 2 round trip airfare tickets,2. hotels with reservation form and requirements to send a$30 money order. 3,certificate for a fun book with a minimum of $500 for different locations. To receive the two round trip airfare voucher, I needed to send a money order of $9.95 including my airfare form and they would then send my two round trip airfare voucher via priority mail. Two weeks later I received (via priority mail) a companion airfare voucher stating this program will provide me with two airline tickets for one low price. I was given a brochure of zones and to match the zones to figure out the price for the one airfare ticket. The price for my zone that I would pay is $410.(I can get 2 round trip airfare tickets from Southwest for $400). I contacted Marketing concepts explaining that my original airline voucher and brochure clearly states I would receive 2 round trip airfare tickets..Other then the money orders and a $30 reservation fee, there was no mention that I was to purchase 2 for the price of one airfare..The owner of the business that purchased the trip for the raffle said he stated never was there any mention of a 2 for 1 price for airline voucher. I received quick response from marketing concepts explaining to me the vacation was misrepresented to me and they do not offer two round trip airline tickets, they only offer the 2 for 1 companion fair. She then advised that because of my inconvenience they happy to offer me a vacation certificate for any of there 12 destinations with no expiration date.Marketing Concepts sold a vacation package that included 2 round trip airfare and hotel to owner of business and then recipient (raffle winner)then changed the vacation package and was now trying to charge winner for something they never really won.Desired Settlement: Exactly what I won. A vacation package for two. For 2 night/3 day to Las Vegas that includes 2 round trip airfare and hotel accommodations. Most business owners would not offer a raffle or a fundraising event with the winner receiving a partially paid vacation package. That would cost them almost as much as if they paid for it themselves.

We purchase the companion airfare vouchers from a third party. We do not sell them to our clients, we give them away with some orders when a business purchases our hotel accommodation packages to give away as promotional incentives. We promote and represent the companion airfare vouchers for exactly what they are, which is buy two tickets for one low price. Any fares displayed does not include internet or bargain fares and is clearly stated so. The savings and airfares available always differ based upon the departure and arrival cities, flight times and dates of travel, much the same as any travel site. We have attached the companion airfare flyer that Ms. [redacted] sent to us to redeem her companion airfare voucher, which clearly states on the front "two tickets for one low price". We require $9.95 for shipping and handling of the vouchers as they are sent priority mail so as to insure delivery and be able to track the shipment. In regards to the $30.00 deposit, we require that as a guarantee for the hotel reservation for our accommodation package which is fully refunded after the customer has completed their stay.

Hello, I have come across 2 of your vouchers, but have been reading about your company across the internet with reviews spanning 5 years so far. Because I had major issues with a company that sounds exactly like yours in the past (no reflection on you there), and the reviews and responses here, I need to ask, why isn't your company modern in how you do business? I would love to take a trip or two, but it is very strange that you don't have a legitimate website with the following regarding the vouchers: email and phone contacts; a clear breakdown of the benefits, including choices and upgrades, along with legal disclaimers and anything not included; ideally dropdown menus for travel and upgrade choices; instant receipts of reservations, which should be made instantly, or at least within a few days. Is there any reason all of this can't be done?

I did not receive good service with marketing concepts. I won a trip to Vegas back in like october if 2013 and I submitted my reservations request for feb 2014 in december of 2013 and as of today I still have not received a response other than a letter that contained my casino benefit fun book. my trip expired at the end of february so I am out the money I spent on the reservations request and the money I spent on the buy 1 plane ticket get 1 free. It is only a total of about 50 dollars but I am still very disappointed!!

My husband won a trip at his company party. Come to find out it's not free!! You have to pay for the overpriced airfare yourself. It's no discount either! $600 round trip to Vegas isn't cheap! What a scam!

I purchased 24 of their vacations in July for a few parties that I was going to run at my bar. Their posters and flyers looked good and worked well to advertise the parties, I used some radio adds too. I just had some of the winners get back from their trips to Vegas and they were totally happy. I can only assume they worked as promised. I just got 24 more for new years and superbowl, so I am happy with them and have had no problems.

We won a trip from this company, with a few destination choices available. I was skeptical, assuming it must be a time-share offer or something. I was pleasantly surprised, that while the process to claim and register for the trip was a little unusual (a deposit is required with the reservation order), I thought "what the heck?" You have to be flexible with your dates, book weekdays, etc. but everything went very well. Even when I had to change my original dates, my call was returned and the situation handled professionally. We selected Las Vegas - The hotel was modest, but nice. The staff treated us well, with no hassle or weird looks when I presented my voucher. The whole experience went very well, I checked out with a zero balance and a few weeks after my stay, I received my deposit back, as promised. I would recommend this company and just remind the traveler to be patient and flexible -- after all, how can you argue with FREE? I hope I win this trip again!

Review: On October 28/29, 2013 I called the company and went online and submitted my reservation request. On November 6, 2013, I received a confirmation email for the receipt of my Silver State Getaway reservation request. I also mailed in a cashier's check for $30 which I am suppose to get back after I go on my trip. In the email it stated that "reservations are processed approx. 45-60 days prior to the dates you have requested." It also states that "you will then receive either email or written notification as to the dates you have requested." Since then I have not been contacted. I have resubmitted requests on their website for someone to call me and no one has. We are now 30 days away from our dates and no one has contacted me. I have no contact phone number or email to call. How do you run a business and not have an email or contact phone number?Desired Settlement: I would like a phone call confirming the trip I booked. A confirmation would be nice.

We did attempt 3 times in March 2014 to contact Ms. [redacted] as she requested on her reservation request. We have made a reservation for Ms. Gonyo for the dates that she requested and have e-mailed a letter of confirmation to her.

My husband won a Vegas trip and we sent in the required forms along with payment. The company returned the airfare voucher and it was noted as undeliverable. There is little to no contact information for this company. The address listed on the form isn't valid and now I am unsure where to send in the voucher and payment. It appears we may be out the money at this point. Very disappointed. Still looking for some kind of contact information. I find it hard to believe that a business would not have a contact phone number or customer service email to send any questions to.

Review: I "WON" a 3-day/2-night vacation packagae for Two, but all I have done is spend money and this FREE trip is more expensive then if I booked it myself. It supposedly would pay for 1 airline ticket and we had to pay for the other. Well one ticket was going to cost more then purchasing 2 tickets on the internet. I had to send $30 and a separate $9.95 to process the paperwork, but the cost of the airfare is rediculas, so even if the motel is available, which it wasn't on the nights that I requested, there were only 3 motels to choose from and 2 of them were cheap $29.95/night. This is totally FALSE advertising. On top of this, there is no phone number you can call or email address to ask a question. They claim they are too busy, so if everyone is sending them $39.95 for a vacation, that doesn't happen, then they are just sitting behind a website and collecting money and providing nothing. I have missed a wedding that I planned to use the trip for. If they will provide me at least one airline ticket and room, I have another trip I need to take to vegas the first part of November.Desired Settlement: Since the advertising says only 1 airline ticket needs to be paid for, then I would expect to receive 1 airline ticket for free along with 2 nights in the Tropicana Hotel as requested. If this is not done, then I expect to have my $39.95 returned at the very least!

Response:

The customer is referring to a companion airfare voucher that she received from us. It gives the recipient the opportunity to purchase two airline tickets at one low price and does not include internet, sale or clearance fares. The pricing for the fares varies depending on the date of travel and the route desired, but generally, the majority of the times, the fares using this voucher are lower than purchasing two tickets on the internet. We purchase the vouchers from a travel company and we have no control over the pricing. We send the vouchers to the recipients by priority mail and charge the customer $9.95 for shipping and handling of the vouchers. In regards to Ms. [redacted] hotel request, she requested just one of the four hotels we offer in Las Vegas for dates in September. Our program is based upon space availability and we had no rooms available at the hotel she was requesting for the dates she wanted to go. We require a $30.00 deposit for our hotel stays as a guarantee for the reservation and it is fully refundable after the customer has completed their stay. We sent a letter to Ms. [redacted] on 7/24/13 explaining there was no availability at the hotel she was requesting for the dates she wanted to go and we included a new reservation request form so she could resubmit it for different dates. We kept her $30.00 deposit on file, which was indicated on the new form, so she did not have to purchase another money order when she resubmitted it, with instructions that if she wished to have the deposit returned, to return the form to us instructing us to refund the deposit. We have today issued a check to Ms. [redacted] for $30.00 for her deposit. She also indicated that she will be traveling to Las Vegas in November, so we have sent her a new two night package to use at no charge for her upcoming trip and have also included in the mailing our contact information.

I have a small retail business in Akron, Oh. I use their trips for a monthly drawing for my rewards program. The results? Outstanding! It's a great way for me to differentiate myself from other competitors at a cost that is extremely affordable. You guys are the bomb!!! ???

My wife this vacation from your business. I can assure you that in no way, she received a "prize". First off, we had to mail a check to receive the "prize". 1st indication of a scam. Reluctantly, we did and 5 weeks later, we got our certificate to book. Not only was there not anything that was free, there was not even a discount. Although I don't disagree with the fact that they help with your business Tim, I can assure you that your winning customers are not be rewarded in anyway.

Review: We had been referred to Marketing Concepts by another company. At first the customer service was great, upon receiving the travel vouchers to provide for giveaways to new customers the product offering was not as described on the phone. As I was reassured before payment for the vouchers that a refund would be no problem if I felt it was not worth it I contacted Marketing Concepts and was told I would have to deal with Peter Hayes the companies owner. In a total of four conversations with Peter Hayes I was informed he would look into what could be done to refund my money. Now Two months later with numerous unanswered and un-returned calls I still have yet to hear back.Desired Settlement: At this point in the process a refund is the only acceptable form of resolution.

Response:

We had been in contact with Mr. E[redacted] regarding his request for a refund. He was informed that our return for refund policy is full refund up to thirty days from the date of purchase. He first contacted us approximately sixty days after his purchase. He was informed that we would do what we could to try and accommodate him. At that point he had the merchandise and it had not been returned. We finally came to an agreement last week on 10/22/15 with Mr. E[redacted] and issued him a partial refund and also allowing him to keep the merchandise. We refunded the exact amount that Mr. E[redacted] requested.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 10872881, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I won one of their trips when I bought my car. I had very little trouble booking the trip to Vegas and I was very happy with the Tropicana casino. I was not offered airfare as part of the trip, so that was not a problem. I would gladly take one again if given the opportunity and I thanked the car lot for a good trip to Vegas. I live in Boulder CO....

Been doing business with this company for the past 2 years! Nothing but good customer service and help when you need it! Highly recommended!

Review: I won a promotional vacation package and submitted all of the paperwork necessary including a $30.00 check that was to be refunded back to me upon completion of our stay. I was told to submit two desired stay dates and they would contact me 45 to 60 days prior to the requested dates. My first requested date was May 12th. It is now 32 days from that date. They dont provide a customer service telephone number to reach anyone.I need to book airfare and a show but I am in fear of doing so because I dont want to be out any additional money. I think this Company is a scam and all they do is collect $30.00 from everyone and then you get nothing.Desired Settlement: I WANT MY THE TRIP I WAS PROMISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We received Ms. [redacted]'s reservation request on 1/30/15. We sent her an e-mail acknowledging receipt and informing her the reservation would be processed 45 to 60 days prior to her requested date. Her requested date was 5/12/15. We made a reservation for her at one of the hotels we hold a contract with in Las Vegas and on 3/10/15 we sent Ms. [redacted] a confirmation of that reservation for check in 5/12/15, which is indeed approximately 60 days prior. Ms. [redacted] obviously did not get that e-mail on 3/10/15, or it went to her junk mail or was deleted, which I presume caused her to initiate this complaint with the Revdex.com. Upon receiving this complaint we immediately resent the e-mail to her confirming her reservation. She has received that e-mail, because she has since contacted us requesting a change in location which we have accommodated as well as upgrading her room for this inconvenience.

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE BY STAFF, ALSO A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR ANY ONE BUSINESS TO BOOST SALES AND OR PARTICIPATION IN ANY ORGANIZATION.

Review: I contacted Marketing Concepts multiple times letting them know that I would no longer be able to go on my trip to Las Vegas through their giveaway. I requested my $30.00 money order refund from them. They assured me that I would be given this refund and I have still not received it. Shortly after 2/27/2013 they stated that they would be mailing my refund. I still have not received it.Desired Settlement: I am in need of my $30.00 refund that they stated was going to be sent out shortly after 2/27/2013 after deciding not to go on the trip.

Response:

Mr. [redacted] submitted a reservation request to us last year requesting to stay at one of our resorts in January or March of this year. He included with his request a $30.00 deposit, which we require as a guarantee for a reservation. This deposit is refunded after we have confirmed that the guest completed their stay. Mr. [redacted] contacted us and informed us he did not want to take the trip on the dates he requested. We then returned his package with a new reservation request form so he could pick different dates. We kept his deposit on file, so when he resubmitted the request he would not have to get another money order. We indicated on his new form that the deposit was on kept file and that if he was not going to use the package to simply return the new form to us with his name and address on it, and state on the form he wants his deposit returned. We sent him this new form in February of this year and have not received it back from Mr. [redacted] either requesting new dates or his deposit. We have today issued his $30.00 deposit to the address he provided on this complaint.
