Last spring I had Marshal Exteriors put a new metal roof on my house and just last month during a wind storm my roof in whole pieces flew off my house. Luckily no one was outside my house during this event because if they had been they could have been killed by the metal roof itself. This is a roof that is said to withstand 90 mph winds and the winds that day were at most 50mph when it lifted from my house and flew off. These roofs come with a lifetime gurantee and so I contacted Marshal Exteriors to have them come out and replace the roof - when they arrived on site they stated that I had to file an insurance claim in order for them to replace my less than a year old, faulty installed roof. I have since filed an insurance claim and the claim adjuster came out to my house and stated that this was not due to the wind but due to the roof not being installed correctly. I have since tried contacting Marshal Exteriors to get my roof replaced and they refuse to replace the roof.
We received a call on 4/5/18 that the metal roof that we installed on 5/3/16 at a cost of $4400 had suffered wind damage. We sent out a team that same day and tarped the roof. Mr. was instructed to make an insurance claim and to contact us after the response from the insurance company. On 4/4/18 there were winds locally that had exceeded 70mph and there were thousands of people without power. The following is a link from the local news.

On 4/23/18 Mr. called stating he had talked to his insurance company and would like to know "Where to go from here". An appointment was made for myself to go there on 4/27/18 at 8:00 to review the matter. On the morning of the appointment I arrived and met with Mr.. He had still not received any paperwork from the insurance company other than a letter stating that they had received his claim notice. I advised Mr. that I would reach out to the insurance company to see where everything stands. I asked him to call me ASAP if he heard anything from them. I called the adjuster when I went back to our office. I have not heard from the adjuster or Mr. since that meeting. I left a voicemail this morning (5/4/18) asking Mr. to call me so we can discuss the next steps. I have not acknowledged or denied any fault from Marshall Exteriors. I was simply waiting for the insurance company to give a report on their findings. If they have given Mr. documentation we will be happy to review to progress to the next step. We have not told Mr. that we would not replace the roof. We were simply waiting on the insurance company to give a determination as to cause and coverage.
We look forward to reviewing the insurance company report to get resolution for Mr..
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Although the details from the company are spelled out nicely, I have contacted my insurance company and they have stated that Marshal exteriors has not contacted them about my claim or about replacing my roof. Also- although the companies response sounds cordial my wife and I have requested that they remove the peices of the damaged roof from my property as they are blocking our side enterance to our home and although they stated they would once the insurance adjuster took their photos they have yet to do so even though they have now been out to my house even after the insurance adjuster had their photos. This is a safety hazard for me and my wife as I am an amputee and my wife suffers from rumatory arthritis. Nothing has been done by the company to show any effort that they have our best interest in mind or that they are fighting for us to get a resolution. I have attached a photo of the broken roof blocking our side enterance to our home to this message. Regards
I apologize we have not responded as of yet to the most recent comments. There seems to be a few week lag in communication between the customer and when we are notified of the responses. Between these most recent communications, the customer has actually apologized to us and hired us to replace the roof again. After we were all on the same page again, his response was communicated back to us which caused a lot of confusion. As of right now we are on the same page and moving forward. I just do not have time at the moment to login and do this. I am actually talking into my cell phone to respond to this email as I drive to my next appointment. There seems to be a few week lag in this communication. This issue has since been resolved. We have been hired by the homeowner again to replace the roof. As of today (6/8/18) materials have been ordered and we are awaiting their arrival to begin work. We are on the same page with Mr..
Problem: We have already submitted a complaint once about this company because they refused to re-install or remove the metal roof that was installed incorrectly the first time and blew completely off the house. Today we went into the attic to only find it filled with wood scraps and debris from when they reinstalled the roof after filing a complaint. I’ve never seen a roofing company completely fill a customers attic with debris like this and truly believe they did so on purpose because we filed a Revdex.com complaint against them when the roof needed to be fixed and they refused to fix it. Date Sent: ***Revdex.com agent, this should be a continuation from the original complaint as it is from the same job. Mr., we find it unfortunate that you did not call us first. Please see the attached form that you signed. It clearly states that we are not responsible for debris in the attic. This is not intentional, it is extremely common for small chucks of cedar shake and dust to fall in the attic when a cedar shake roof is torn off. There is no way to avoid this as there are 2-3 inch gaps between the purlins (boards) on the roof. We cannot go against gravity. If you would like us to try to clean the wood out to the best of our abilities we will make arraignments. However, we make no guarantees of how much we can get, and will not be paying for a cleaning company or decorations.
This is a HUGE mess not just a few small scraps in our attic. I attached pictures here.Please call to make arrangements to remove the scraps left in our attic as indicated that you’re willing to do. Regards
I engaged Marshall Exteriors to finish my basement, and could not have been happier with the work performed. From preliminary talks through the finished product, my satisfaction was put first and foremost. All of the talks were very transparent and honest, there was not a hidden agenda or any nickel and diming along the way. I was so happy with the work that I personally emailed the owner, Adam, which I have copied below this paragraph...They have truly earned a customer life!!

From the time that I first started working with Anthony over a year ago, the service and attention that he has given me has been unmatched. He has been so much more than a salesperson to me and I would have never gotten to this point without him. He was a great partner and has been just awesome. I don't know how he had the patience to do it, to be honest. A big thank you to Anthony.
The transition from Anthony to Bill was seamless. Bill was all over any and all questions that I had and truly did whatever it took to make sure that I was satisfied. He was always there for questions, checked in, and was so in tune with the project. It was great working with him and another big thank you to Bill.
Chad and Joe were absolutely amazing. They have done spectacular work and really made key suggestions in the beginning stages on tweaking some things, for the better. So happy that they pointed this out when there was time to make it better rather than just "do the job." I'm so pleased that they were assigned to our project, and I cannot thank them enough for the great work. A huge thank you to these guys.

Marshall Exteriors did an excellent job. We had windows, siding and gutters installed. Communication was great and the crew was here when they said they would be. Hardworking and friendly guys. The quality of their workmanship was excellent. If we had any issues they came quickly to resolve. I would definitely recommend Marshall Exteriors to anyone interested in improving their home. An honest company!!

We chose Marshall Exteriors in our basement remodel project and couldn't be happier. The whole team from the original sales meeting to pre-production and through to completion was professional. The project started on time and finished ahead of schedule. The communication was continually back and forth so we new exactly where the project was and what to expect. Any issues (all very minor in scope) we had during the project were addressed without delay and to satisfaction. We absolutely love our basement theatre room/kitchenette and full bath and would absolutely recommend Adam and his team at Marshall.
*Rating Note - I never rate anything at its maximum as I feel a company should always have something to work towards. 4 Stars here is my maximum. Very satisfied customer.

I have had Marshall Exteriors complete 2 projects at my house. The first one was adding a large porch. The porch is absolutely beautiful and looks like it always been part of the home. The second project was a new roof and gutter covers. I was very happy with the job and the clean up was amazing. The yard looked as nice as it did before the job. I plan on hiring again for my next project.

I would like to share a truly "positive' experience with Marshall Exteriors (Newark, NY). I had 13 fiberglass tilt-in windows, 2 doors, and gutters installed in April of 2017. I am so very pleased with the professionalism, thoroughness, kindness and great work that all the workers completed!!!!!!!!!:))))))

I needed a new roof due to a storm blowing off some shingles and age. Adam, the owner himself, came out more than once to discuss issues I was having ?with the insurance company and went above and beyond talking directly with my insurance company to fight for more than the little money they wanted to give me. I had a problem with a leaking entry door where my garage meets the house and he knew exactly what the problem was in which was fixed with the new roof. His crew were fast without sacrificing quality along with being very polite!

I would like to say that my experience with Marshall Exteriors was wonderful. They were on time, neat and friendly. They put a roof on my garage, new composite railings and stairs on my deck and 2 new windows in my garage. All 3 teams were very professional! I would highly recommend them.
