Maxus Properties and Thomaston Crossing Apartments thank you for helping us address and respond to this matter brought by [redacted] It is unfortunate her car was towed; however, the circumstances are explained below Ms [redacted] ’ vehicle had been tagged for parking illegally in the handicap parking prior to her recent tow, so this was not an isolated incidentThomaston Crossing staff does not patrol the parking lot, a Macon Georgia Uniformed Police Officer (Our Courtesy Officer) is employed to patrol for parking violationsNot only did the Courtesy Officer find her license plate for the vehicle was not registered for a handicap parking sticker, the officer did not see the parking tag in the windowTherefore, her vehicle was tagged and towed The office did receive a voicemail from Ms [redacted] following her tow, in which she stated that she could not find parking that evening and so she decided to park in the handicap parking During the conversation the next day, which Ms [redacted] is referring to in her complaint, the Courtesy Officer was present Ms [redacted] was concerned that she was singled out; however, she was unaware that there were several other vehicle violations that were towed that evening (Other resident’s information is not disclosed.) Other staff members were in the office during this time as she refused to sign the citations the officer was giving to herPrior to this day, the on-site manager had not met or spoken with her The reason for towing parking violations is twofold: One: it is a direct violation of the lease agreementTwo: Thomaston Crossing has tremendous problems with unauthorized parking in Handicap spots In an effort to resolve parking complaints and violations; as well as giving those who can legally utilize these parking spaces the ability to do so; towing has unfortunately become the last resortSeveral attempts to resolve the parking issue have been made by putting notices out & knocking on doors (which the courtesy officer did this night), as well as requesting vehicle information during the application process As a police officer, this Courtesy Officer took all measures to insure the situation was handled properlyUnfortunately there was nothing management could say or do to resolve the matter to Ms [redacted] ’ likingMs [redacted] was very upset, cursing and yelling in the office both at the Courtesy Officer & manager Management states Ms [redacted] has not yet provided her tag or proof of a tag in an effort to resolve this matter Again, it is unfortunate Ms [redacted] car was towed, but management has taken all steps to inform residents of the towing policy and the ramifications Sincerely, [redacted] Property Administrator

Maxus Properties, Incand Rosehill Apartments appreciate this resident expressing their concerns regarding the termination policy Maxus Properties, Inchas not received the written communication that was to be completed by the resident It has been explained to Mr*** that any concerns he wishes to voice to the management company must be put in writing The Property Manager at Rosehill Apartments did communicate that termination fees are not waived, but the resident was determined that this would be negotiated at our corporate levelIt was explained to the resident that termination fees are not waived, but all communication should be completed in writing We do understand and appreciate that resident’s lives can change quicklyPer our termination clause in the lease Mr [redacted] signed (that does not terminate until March 8, 2107), we don’t consider the length of the notice to vacate in lieu of the termination feeThis fee is equal to the sum of two times the rentIf a resident gives a two month notice, this does not go towards their termination feeIt is our goal to be fair and consistent with our practices.Sincerely, [redacted] Property Administrator

Ms***’s incident at Chapel Oaks Apartments in FtWayne, IN was very unfortunate When Management became aware of the situation, they contacted the local police Since the money order funds were not run through the property’s system, it was difficult to ascertain exactly what might be due Ms***Once this was determined, a reimbursement check was cut and sent to Chapel Oaks for Ms [redacted] to pick up Ms [redacted] picked this restitution up on Friday, June 23, The Detective on the case has informed Chapel Oaks that Ms [redacted] submitted a theft report to them as well.Again, this is a very unfortunate situation and once management was made aware, they acted as quickly as possible to provide restitution Obviously, the employee is no longer employed and the matter has been turned over to the authorities. Our hope is that Ms [redacted] is able to find an apartment home to her li*** Chapel Oaks and Maxus Properties are sincerely sorry for this regrettable incident

Mrs [redacted] , It is understandable you feel that way We did have to process the refund, and your check was mailed on Thursday, November 3, We hope this will take care of the matter.Sincerely, [redacted] Property Administrator

I moved here in 11/2017 and at the time management was top notch and you were proud to say it was home. Since moving here it has changed manager of the complex three times and declining with ever step. The current manager is not giving the complex the attention it needs and in turn residents want out! We have staircases deteriorating and all they do is put caution tape around it. We have areas washed out at the end of a breezeway with jagged rock / broken brick / broken concrete to walk over and through to take your pet out to do their business. Time to NOT to renew. Giving City Center a bad scar and next to $5000 a month apts.

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
I did have a handicap parking permit at the time for the person I was transportingThe permit was clearly displayed in my car that nightThe manager never asked to see the decalI will be taking the decal to court I never stated I was singled out. The manager continued to attempt to put words into my mouth. The officer did not knock on my doorThis was my first time parking in the handicap parking space due to transporting a relative with disabilities. I have never received prior citations for parking in a handicap parking spaceThe officer stated during the meeting " the judge will probably throw the tickets out." That speaks volumesIt is unfortunate that I do not feel safe in a place in my community.Regards,

handicap parking prior to her recent tow, so this was not an isolated incident. Thomaston Crossing staff does not patrol the parking lot, a Macon Georgia Uniformed Police Officer (Our Courtesy Officer) is employed to patrol for parking violations. Not only did the Courtesy Officer find her license plate for the vehicle was not registered for a handicap parking sticker, the officer did not see the parking tag in the window. Two:  Thomaston Crossing has tremendous problems with unauthorized parking in Handicap spots.  In an effort to resolve parking complaints and violations; as well as giving those who can legally utilize these parking spaces the ability to do so; towing has unfortunately become the last resort. Several attempts to resolve the parking issue have been made by putting notices out & knocking on doors (which the courtesy officer did this night), as well as requesting vehicle information during the application process.   As a police officer, this Courtesy Officer took all measures to insure the situation was handled properly. Unfortunately there was nothing management could say or do to resolve the matter to Ms. [redacted]’ liking. Ms. [redacted] was very upset, cursing and yelling in the office both at the Courtesy Officer & manager.   Management states Ms. [redacted] has not yet provided her tag or proof of a tag in an effort to resolve this matter.   Again, it is unfortunate Ms. [redacted] car was towed, but management has taken all steps to inform residents of the towing policy and the ramifications.   Sincerely, [redacted] Property Administrator
