Review: What a sucker punch
On november 2014 I purchased a used Mazda 3 with 108,000 miles on it for my college aged daughter From Poughkeepsie Mazda.
After repeatedly asking them if the car was safe for my daughter they were very quick to assure me it was. When I put the deposit on the car I was told it would be ready for pickup the following week. When I went to pick up car they handed me a list of things that were wrong with the car, such aschopped tires due to bad shocks and a transmission fluid leak from transaxle. I reminded them that when I did put the down payment they told me the car was good to go. (they did not tell me this when I put down payment) in fact I was told the car had been checked thoroughly and is in top shape)
They did offer to only charge me dealer cost on the required fixes. LIke a sucker, I agreed.
I then waited another week to pick up car.
On April [redacted], 2015, with only 3 thousand miles put on car I brought it to valvoline for oil change in my neighborhood in Westchester County
The service manager informed me the transaxle was leaking transmission fluid but it’s okay to
drive providing we check levels frequently.
My daughter had to drive back to her School ([redacted]) on the April [redacted].
I call Mazda of Poughkeepsie about the problem reminding them that the leak was something they allegedly fixed at my expense when I purchased the car and that my daughter had to drive it back to school. They instructed me to bring car to dealer near [redacted]. The closest dealer was [redacted] in [redacted].
I made arragemnents with the two dealerships and Mazda of Poughkeepsie said they will pay to fix the leak.
The dealership in [redacted] tries to fix problem with napa part but after 2 tries with different parts they informed me that they need to buy original mazda part for proper fit.
I assume Poughkeepsie will pay since that’s what they promised.
After the service was performed I was toild by the dealer in [redacted] that Mazda of Poughkeepsie would only share the cost with of the original Mazda part as it was more expensive then a napa part.
Huh?? I completely feel like I was sucker punched by the Mazda Dealership in Poughkeepsie.
They went back on their word and I was charged $370.00 for something I paid to fix in November when I bought the car.
I absolutely think they should be investigated for bad business practicesd as they did not deliver on their promise and I suspect they double dipped on me.Desired Settlement: I think they should be investigated for bad business practices and also refund me the $370.00.
Oh, When I did speak to them about my issue and mentioned that I would post bad reviews on [redacted] and [redacted] they said they didn't give a s___ what I do and then they hung up.

Complaint ID [redacted] Response: We are sorry to hear of your negative experience with Mazda of Poughkeepsie. We aim for the highest level of customer satisfaction in every facet of our business. It is our understanding that we were very clear about what would be fixed on the car and you were satisfied upon delivery of the vehicle. We do not advise using outside service centers for car repairs. Please understand that we cannot be held accountable for repairs that another service center has performed. Please consider bringing the car back in so we can make sure it is in top working order. -- Mike K[redacted] Digital Promotions Coordinator
My latest experience with the service department was horrible. The service rep Daniel M[redacted] was rude and arrogant. We had our vehicle serviced and an issue we were told was repaired was not. I attempted to contact generL manager with no call back. I would not recommend this dealer to anyone. It's too bad because the previous experiences were good and since the change in personnel not good at all. I love my Mazda but will not go back there for new purchase.
Review: I could not get my car inspected because the check engine light was on. I brought the car to Mazda of Poughkeepsie and they replaced leak detection pump and fuel
leakage sensor, total cost $444.22.
a short time later the check engine light came back on. Mazda then replaced purge valve and gas cap or another $269.26. The check engine light came on again a short time later.
Instead of resolving the problem they seem to find something to replace to charge unnecessary amount. The last visit, I was told by the [redacted] he would
take care of everything and then disappeared.Desired Settlement: Refund of total cost $713.00
