I am rejecting this response because:I did enter promo code correctly AND the same exact thing happened last year I don't think think that I made the same mistake two years in a row Rather, I believe that this is a shady practice on the part of the MedicAlert Foundation, in addition, they charge very high prices to their members, who are medically vulnerable, and their ID bracelets consistently break after or months of wear

When receiving the renewal order via our website the promo code that was offered was not entered or transferred to us therefore we cannot discount something that is not applied appropriately If the coupon or promo code is not on the order then the full amount is charged If the customer is having trouble using the promo code on our website she can call us to take advantage of the promotion instead of having her card charged the full amount and then waiting for us to refund her We have expedited her refund on our end on 9/6/to be processed by her financial institution We provide promotional codes for discounts but two years in a row it was not applied to her order when she processed it online MedicAlert’s Mission is to “Protect and Save Lives.” We offer affordable discounts and promos to alleviate the costs for our members I have authorized a free stainless steel bracelet for your son and we have refunded the renewal and gave him one free year of Kid Smart membership

Ms [redacted] selected her own engraving when placing the order through our website Customer called complaining that the data she selected was not included on the engraving, however the information she claimed wanting engraved was added through the website one week after the order was placed The product had already been engraved and had shipped out days prior to the new information being added to the file through the website We processed Ms [redacted] ’s product exactly as she had originally requested, no changes were made to the engraving by anyone in our officeWhile on the phone with Ms [redacted] , we did extend an offer to waive the shipping and handling fee if Ms [redacted] wanted to purchase a new product with different engraving, she however declined We will honor an offer of free shipping and handling for the next days, should Ms [redacted] decide to order a new product

After investigating and reviewing the notes on the account, customer may be experiencing issues with the engraving due to the sensitive nature of the medical condition, and that she shared that her wrists swell We would recommend getting a different product where the engraving is on the front of the ID rather than on the back of the ID We can exchange the product for one of our Easy Flex medical ID bracelets The bands come in purple, red, teal or black We are happy to accommodate this exchange for Ms [redacted]

MedicAlert Foundation relies upon the accuracy of the information that the customer supplies. Customer therefore agrees to defend, indemnify and hold MedicAlert Foundation (including its employees, officers, directors and agents) harmless from any claim or lawsuit brought by member or others for injury, death, loss or damages arising in whole or in part out of Customer's provision of incomplete or inaccurate information to MedicAlert Foundation.Automatic Renewal PolicyFirst-time medical identification product purchases include a pre-paid 12-month service subscription term (known as "My MedicAlert Services"). Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each subscription term for another 12-month term. You agree that MedicAlert Foundation may automatically renew your service subscription and charge your account on the one year anniversary of your last subscription date (the “Renewal Date”), unless you cancel your subscription before the Renewal Date. All notices regarding your subscription will be sent to your last email of record. To cancel your subscription without your account being charged for the next term, you must do so before the Renewal Date. You are responsible for timely canceling your subscription regardless of whether you receive any notice from us. The renewal payment is due on the Renewal Date and will automatically be charged to the same credit card that you used for the original purchase or the most recent renewal. Please notify MedicAlert Foundation Customer Service at 1-800-432-5378 before the Renewal Date of any changes to your email, account or billing information. Your cancellation will be effective at the end of the then-current 12-month subscription term for which you have already paid. The standard annual renewal price will be $24.99, unless you purchased an upgraded service package, or MedicAlert Foundation gives you advance notice of a price change.MedicAlert would never deny providing medical data in an emergency, however if a customer decides not to renew their service and we are called upon to provide a service they chose not to pay, then we do charge a fee of $250 for each occurrence where service is rendered on an account which is not currently paid. We will always work with the customer to attempt to bring the account current as only current and accurate information serves the customer best in an emergency.Customer was NOT charged the membership fee as the payment profile on account failed to successfully charge. Customer was advised of this by email, and asked to contact us to bring the account current.MedicAlert cannot be held responsible if the customer did not read the terms and conditions upon enrollment. We are, however, happy to help Mr. [redacted] out in the future should he change his mind about having a current and active service with MedicAlert.

We were contacted by Ms. [redacted] on 2-17-2015 as her product was not yet received. We did ask to verify her mailing address, as it is our policy to replace products lost in the mail (not delivered) after three weeks. On 2-19-2015 we received another email communication from Ms. [redacted] ... stating that she was upset we would not issue a refund and that she would dispute the charge with her bank and file a complaint with the BBB. Our offer still stands to replace the product not received. We do need to verify the mailing address to ensure that the product is delivered to the correct address.

First of all, they make a good profit on the shipping charges. It's outrageous that they can charge what they do and (adding insult to injury) add a marked-up "shipping fee. All they do is put in in the US Mail.
Second, they are VERY restrictive about what can be put in their medical records. If what you need to say doesn't precisely fit one of their pre-programmed messages, you are scr***.
Unfortunately I bought a 3-year membership. No refunds ...

We are issuing a refund of $to the estate of *** * *** who passedWe hope we were able to provide a sense of security and protection to him and his family during his years as a member

A Supervisor contacted our member regarding the credit card issues. Our phone number is working properly at *** and we have had a high call volume due to the day holiday weekend with a longer than wait time. We do provide an option to leave a message for a
return call. We apologize for any delays and inconvenience in trying to get through on the phone. We have renewed our member's *** membership free of charge for one year due to the issues she has experienced

We received a complaint on 6-3-from Mr*** indicating that his product arrived broken. Since products are inspected prior to leaving our facility we requested that Mr*** send the product back to us for inspection and repair. Mr*** was not happy with this and requested to
speak to a supervisorNo supervisor was available at this time, however we attempted to reach out to Mr*** by phone and left a message asking that he return the product for inspection and repair and also offered a 10% discount and free shipping on another product should he choose he wanted to pursue a different product. Mr*** claims that the product was not engraved per his specifications, however the engraving was typed in by the customer, not MedicAlert staff. It was engraved as ordered. We stand behind our product and will repair or replace if needed once the product is inspected. We also stand behind our promise of a 10% discount and free shipping should Mr*** decide he wants to order a different product to fulfill his need

We will honor the request of the customer and close his account

I am rejecting this response because: the business hid these optionsIt was a deliberate action to force customers to auto renewAlso threatening fines and or fees for using emergency medical care is wrongI have no control over emergency room staff or other urgent medical careIf medical staff make contact with this business because they have the info on hand already not from a id tagWhile I am incapacitated Is beyond my controlHesitation could cost me my life and the last thing I need to worry about is a fine while in an type of emergency Just have them delete my account entirely I have destroyed all medical I'd tags related to this shiesty business
