Preventive Maintenance Appt. resulted in damage to our vehicle parked in our driveway
We scheduled a Preventive Maintenance appt.for our Furnace October, 2020. There was light snow that afternoon. Jaylen arrived at approx 3:30 pm at which point I saw the Van #117 parked right behind our Traverse in the driveway. The Van was just inside our driveway at the street. When I popped my head out the front door, Jaylen immediately stated, "it is very slippery" To which I responded why don't you pull your van up to the door. We had intentionally left that entire lane open for the serviceman. So he did! Sunday we drove our Traverse to our son's and he saw the damage. He said, you took a hard hit and you would have known it if you were in the car. Neither of us knew of the damage. When I thought about it, my mind immediately returned to a few days earlier, the day Jaylen pulled into the driveway and parked right behind our vehicle. At first I thought he must have hit it with front bumper which I reported to Metro Heating OWNER, Paul. He said they would fix it...UNTIL I informed it would be $2,000 worth of damage. Then he was not so inclined. Paul informed that he spoke with Jaylen who DENIED hitting our car! So that makes us a liar! NOT! Jaylen happened to show up right next door the following week. I called Paul to say Van #117 is next door. Oh he said, well Jaylen said he wanted to talk with you, why don't you go over there. Hmm, ok. So over I went. I stood in the doorway of my neighbors home and said Jaylen's name 2 or 3 times. He was at the bottom of the stairs. He Froze! Would not look up! After a few minutes he had no choice but to come up the stairs because he was finished. I said to him, You hit my car last week! He said I don't know what you're talking about. I said yes you do 100%! And I walked home and called Paul to report the experience! Jaylen had NO intentions of talking to me OR OWNING his mistake! I WILL NEVER EVER EVER allow Metro Heating/Cooling into my home ever again! We were left holding the repair bill along with our insurance company! Note: I received a call from Lisa with Excel Homesmart Plan: Lisa informed that the higher ups will be meeting with her and her manager about the damage caused to our vehicle by Jaylen from Metro Heating. She was very attentive and apologetic and of course nothing they can do...except replace Metro Heating with the other HVAC company for our service. Which is what we requested!
I did inform her that I believe the damage to Van #117 is on the driver's side rear bumper. I could not reconcile the lack of damage to Metro's front bumper but also the "isolated" damage to the back of our Traverse ie a 1-1.5" deep impression and a scrape/ scrunch above that. With new information about the rear bumper of VAN #117 Metro Heating and their insurance company FEDERATED denied the claim! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE experience! NEVER ever again will Metro Heating ever step foot in our home!
