M&F Auto Sales, Inc. Reviews (25)

Prior to receiving this letter, we have already spoken with *** and given him some options First of all he brought in the vehicle about months after purchase for some repairs, we reduced the cost of the repairs to $which is our cost, in trying to help him repair the car
Which is still outstanding While repairing the vehicle we discovered that it has low oil pressure, due to the customer doing his own oil change and no proof that he put the adequate oil in the vehicle Which in turn will cause the low oil pressure, we recommended that he change the oil, to make sure its the correct weight of oil and that would help with any check engine lights and possibly fix the problem If that didn't work we offered to pay half of the $oil pump replacement *** is now surrendering the vehicle which in turn will not help his credit According to the internet this is a fairly common problem with the liter GM motor We feel that we are being more than accommodating and feel his sympathyOur offer still stands and we will continue to help but he needs to pay the $and pick up his vehicle

The owner has since contacted Ms*** and discussed how upset that he was that this has come this far without his knowledge She has a check in the mail for the key We have apologized and hope this doesnt happen again
Sincerely, *** ***

The check had been cut since Oct 14, Customer has since picked up the check

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: The response is not factualThe temporary plate exceeded it's date as M&F did not have the title to the car when it was bought by meThey misrepresented their position and continued to do so through out the process. The fact is they received the money from the credit union within business days and used that money to purchase another vehicle there by causing the delay in our receiving our tagsReputable car dealers would loose their franchise under their business practicesAs stated previously as our temporary tags were due to expire several calls to the M&F I received no explanation for the delay forcing me to register the as the tag had been days past

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:if that was the issue why were we not informed and the temporary tag was days past expired Secondly, I never accused them of anything illegal activity, but it is simple math, they received the money for the car, floated it for another use.My son has a wholesale license in Ohio and stated this although legal Franchise Dealers, New Cars would loose their franchise if caught doing this by the manufacturerFinally M&F imitated that this car was from a Franchise DealerThey failed to meet their responsibilities to deliver a tag within the the alloted time according to their purchase agreementI should bear the responsibility for there failure and costs

When a vehicle is sold at M&F Auto Sales, we provide the customer with a mile day limited warranty In addition Ms*** purchased a year mile warranty Shortly after the purchase we did replace the starter under the mile warranty that we offer Now
months later Ms*** came in with a transmission issue and we suggested that she take the vehicle to *** ***, because our shop does not do internal transmission repairs From what we understand the warranty company authorized a $repair for the transmission, Ms*** wanted a year warranty on the transmission which ups the cost of the rebuild to around $ Meaning she will have to pay the additional cost over what the warranty company already said they would pay We do not have rental vehicles, so there was no way for us to help her with that Our vehicles do undergo an point inspection and the transmission was checked and in good working order at the time of her purchase We have a copy of the Carfax that she signed at time of purchase and have recently ran another Carfax and am not sure of what Lemon Law she is seeing on the Carfax According to the Carfax report the transmission fluid was changed at *** *** at 65,miles So we do not understand how the transmission could be empty as she is claiming It was not empty when the vehicle left the lot a car does not function without transmission fluid We recently offered to contribute $ to her expense, out of good business practice and she declined

I accepted their offer of paying off the last car payment, and that satisfied me
Regards, *** *** Verbal Update 12/22/

Ms***'s vehicle was registered through M&F Auto Sales, we contacted her for an address to mail her the new plates and registration, which got returned to us due to the fact that it was a motel Customer went to MVD and got a duplicate registration which there is a fee for
We collected MVD fees in her deal which have been forwarded to the state, if you need copies we will be more than happy to send them out The vehicle was not purchased with cash, it is financed through a local lender so per our dealer agreement we have to register the car, which we did

We did have the title to this vehicle, but once we pulled it to register there was an error on the title to be fixed before we could register and that was the delay.   Im not exactly sure what customer means by purchasing other vehicles with the funding? We did nothing wrong and stand by our paperwork.

M&F Auto Sales has done nothing wrong, enclosed are the credit application and privacy notice that Mr. [redacted] and his wife signed giving authorization for credit to be run.

I am rejecting this response because:  it does not compensate us for a $246 expense we did not reasonably expect to incur in buying this car. I am not sure what the dealer means by "when they mentioned the key."  The issue of a second key was never raised until after the deal was completed and we were leaving and handed only one key.  We should have been advised during the negotiations that there was only one key.  Because of not knowing this, we are, for all practical purposes, paying $246 more for the car that we bargained for.  I hope this complaint will help future buyers know to ask during negotiations about things they might normally expect to be included with a vehicle.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I informed the owner of M&f I wanted to make sure my vehicle was working properly he agreed to help me pay 300.00 of what I had to pay out of pocket around 1200 I told him I needed to make sure I had a working car first before accepting his offer agreed until yesterday called me and said if I did not remove complaints from the Revdex.com  that he would not help me at all since I am" slandering his company"  according to the mechanic from [redacted] there was no transmission fulid in the car and there was no leaks according to the mechanic so if this vehicle had transmission fulid changed like owner of m&f states why did the transmission go out ? The mechanic said it was transmission failure and  there was absolutely no transmission fulid it was burning per mechanic I would like [redacted] the owner of  to honor his previous offer and to help me get into a new vehicle if the transmission cannot be fixed.
Regards,
[redacted]

Sorry to have made you feel this way, but we purchased the car in a package with 3 others.  This particular car was having a clutch installed at the time we were purchasing the package, we were told we would have the car in 2 days.  2 days turned into 10 days we finally received the vehicle. Meanwhile we received 10 inquiries about the vehicle and every person was extremely aggressive about wanting to wire the money.  We had one guy offer over our asking price.  After looking over your test messages this vehicle does not meet your criteria.  Sorry for the misunderstanding and the delay.

The owner has since been in contact with customer and is working to fix all issues.

We have an open case with Ms. [redacted] through the Attorney General's office.  Which we are handling accordingly. Sorry this has taken so long, we have come to a resolution with Ms. [redacted].  Out of good faith we offered to pay for the  repair of the worn upper control arms on...

her vehicle.  Which she has accepted.

M&F Auto Sales Inc. has a 30 day 1000 mile limited warranty on all vehicles sold.  After selling the vehicle, the [redacted]'s brought the vehicle back to service 292 miles later on June 25th we found a faulty crankshaft vent valve and we replaced it.  Then on July 16th, now 1664 miles...

from date of purchase, we found a baffle in valve cover leaking oil into intake manifold and a thermostat housing leaking.  M&F Auto Sales replaced all of this to fix customer's vehicle even though it was well past the 1000 miles.  We were never contracted about the other repairs that had been done at a different mechanic shop, nor can we honor a different facilities repairs or be held responsible.  We were contacted again on November 10th by the [redacted]'s that the Land Rover had broken down, so we told them to have the vehicle towed in, we diagnosed it with fuel pump failing when vehicle gets to operating temperature.  We called Mr. [redacted] numerous times leaving messages to see if they wanted to authorize the repairs, with no response for 5 days.  Then we got a call from Mr. [redacted] asking about the status and when we told him we were waiting for them to authorize repairs, he said he needed to speak with his wife.  Then another 5 days goes by and he calls back in almost forgetting about the conversation he had with our manager for authorizing the repairs, when our manager said we are still waiting for you to speak with your wife to authorize the repairs, Mr. [redacted] said oh yeah okay ill call back.  Then another 5 days later he called back  and said he was having a tow truck come to pick up his car, he paid for the diagnosis and has never returned.  M&F Auto Sales honored the customer's requests for repairs even though it had passed the 1000 mile limited warranty we feel we have done nothing wrong and have help the customer's the best we could.

M&F Auto Sales Inc. is willing to contribute $300.00 towards her cost of repair.  Ms. [redacted] is welcome to bring the vehicle in to trade.  M&F is willing to help with the $300.00 out of good business practice but would like to say that it is impossible to guarantee transmission work that is being done by another shop.  We don't feel that we are responsible for their work.

Please find the attached conversation where the dealer OFFERS a price, I then ACCEPT, and he confirms by saying "DEAL".  This is pretty cut and dry as an agreed upon price and deal, which you see in the last two conversations he decides they will just get more because of demand after we made...

the deal.  Please help resolve!

In researching the entire transaction, we don't understand how the vehicle was advertised at 96K miles, but prior to the completion of the purchase of the vehicle the customer was notified that the car did in fact have 142k miles and nothing was said and she chose to go forward with the purchase....

Also when browsing the rest of the pictures online it showed the odometer reading on the actual car at 142K miles.  The vehicle transaction is also recorded on a CD in the first 5 min the miles were stated and she signed without hesitation and did not seem surprised  by the miles.  Also within that same time frame our finance manager told her twice that she would be getting a call when the title was ready and not to take the papers straight to MVD.  She would need the title to register this car. The vehicle was taken to a technician in service to fix the gas door, if there had been a noise at that time they would have addressed it then.  She was not denied a check of the vehicle, Jude simply told her to drive it a couple days and bring it back if the noise returned.  We do not feel like we misled Ms. [redacted] in any way.
