Our air conditioner no longer was blowing cold air so we called Michael & Sons - Charlotte to request service. xxxxx was our service technician. He was professional throughout the entire process of testing our unit inside and out of our home. He kept us updated on what he was doing. When service and fix was complete, he gave us our options for future equipment based on our 14 yr old unit. The time he took to get the air conditioner back in operation along with his professional courtesy was very much appreciated. We have done business with M&S-C before and they do not disappoint.

[redacted] and employee of Michael and Son completed an air conditioning check on our unit today. He was very professional and courteous, and did an excellent job.

Ed was very helpful/knowledgeable.

I had called a couple of other plumbing companies that morning with none being able to get to me that day. I called Michael and Sons and within 3 hours they were there. xxxxx was able to determine problem with the water heater and was prompt on giving me repair cost options. xxxxx was friendly and had a good demeanor and he was able to get my problem resolved in a timely manor. I will be calling Michael and Sons for any of my plumbing needs I may have in the future.

Chris T arrived on time, found the issue immediately and fixed the problem. Very impressed with not only his skill but his great customer service.

First Michael and Son representative, Robert S[redacted], came to install a new garbage disposal. Very professional and informative. However, after the installation was complete we discovered a bad switch and he was so helpful to immediately call for one of their electricians to come out immediately. I was so grateful.

About 90 minutes later the electrician, Jonathan C[redacted], arrived. He replaced the switch in addition to two additional switched on the same bank, checked the master electrical box, recommended and installed a surge protector for the entire house AND consulted with me about my broken overhead kitchen light. Finally, he installed a new LED fixture (which is tremendous - brighter - no bulbs) and before leaving checked the outlets in the house near water supplies.

I am so happy to have found this amazing service organization and will certainly be utilizing them in the future.

Thomas H was prompt, courteous, and very thorough. He took the time to explain my options, explain his plan of action, and complete the job with excellent precision. Its techs like Thomas H that make businesses like, Michael & Son, that much better. Thanks Thomas!

G. D[redacted] showed up, was professional, courteous, and knew exactly how to diagnose the problem and explain it to a non HVAC expert in laments terms. He was upfront with pricing and gave me several options for how to tackle my problem. He gave me options that Michael and Sons offer for service contracts by informing me, not selling me, which I REALLY appreciate. If you have a good product it should sell itself, and I did sign up for a year long service contract. After a quick flush of my system and a replacement part my AC is pumping out fresh clean air and I will be returning to Michael and Son, specifically requesting Mr. G. D[redacted].

I called Michael & Son on Friday, 8/21/15, to schedule an appointment. I explained that I had two faucets in the kitchen of our 8 year old house that needed to be replaced with two Brizo (high end Delta) faucets that I had purchased. Asked roughly how much it would cost. The lady in the call center was nice, but said the technician/plumber would have to come out to give an estimate. She said it was impossible to quote anything over the phone. There was a $29 dispatch fee to which I agreed and they scheduled it for Monday, 8/24/15. On Monday they rescheduled me for Tuesday, 8/25/15.

When the guy arrived on Tuesday, he said it would be $602 to install the two. He explained it's a flat rate $286.50 each to install a customer supplied faucet. Really? $600 for about an hour of work? Every $100/hr = $200,000 per year... So the labor is billed out at a rate of $1.2MM/year. I could see maybe $100 each + dispatch but $602?

There was absolutely no reason that the lady in the call center could not have told me that the charge for installing two customer supplied faucets would be at LEAST $602 and maybe more depending on what the technician/plumber found when he got here. The plumber on the truck made it very clear that it was a flat rate per faucet and that we could not even use coupon if we had one because the parts were customer supplied (i.e. since they couldn't gouge me on the price for parts, there were no discounts allowed on the $600/hr labor.)

The company knows that they wouldn't get dispatched nearly as much if people knew the outrageous rates they are charging per hour for labor... and coming out first to quote also puts the customer in the position of being "over the barrel"... gives Michael & Sons more leverage to get you to agree to those high prices.

Obviously, I sent the plumber back with his $29 dispatch fee. But they wasted 5 days of my time, their time to come out, and my $29 fee. They could have saved us all a LOT of time and frustration if they had just let me know that it was going to cost at least $602 which could easily have been done when I scheduled the appointment.
