Michael's Furniture

Review: Ordered several furniture items from this vendor prior to Jan 1, 2014. Was told by salesman that furniture had to be ordered but would arrive within 7 to 10 days of the order date. Several calls since then, and still no furniture, nor any firm date of when to expect it. At one point, was told that one of two items was rcv'd, but never got any call to set up delivery, nor any further confirmation. Purchase was made on credit card and was billed. When complaining to store and threatening to cancel purchase, salesman responded that "I should read the contract" as cannot cancel and order". He offered no apology or explanation for the lengthy delay.Desired Settlement: The salesman basically lied and misrepresented the purchases completely. Had he told me I would have to wait literally a month or more for two small non-custom pieces of assembled furniture, I would have declined making any purchase. Instead, he lied about the expected delivery date and then indicated I could not cancel the order.

Response:

As per our signed contract, special order merchandise can take up to 120 days for delivery. Customer ordered on 12/29, when the factories were closed. They reopened on 1/4 and merchandise was delivered to customer within 6 weeks of order. Customer has received all merchandise in good condition and signed completely satisfied. Supporting documents to be supplied upon request.

I am waiting on a delivery from Michael's furniture that I am sure will never show up. I was told that my "special item" is in their facility, but I have yet to receive it. If you show up at the store to discuss your account with them and they refuse to make good on your purchase, you're considered "low class and a little girl."
