Most of what Mr [redacted] has stated is true, however the most important detail was not mentioned and that was if another shop found something that we had done wrong we were to be contacted prior to any repairs being performed so that we would have the opportunity to verify that it was a problem that we were responsible forThis never happened the shop he took the vehicle to called and said they thought his synchronizer was bad and I told them that we had changed that part as part of our troubleshooting which by the way the customer was not charged for but if they thought that was the problem give me a call back he never did that was the last I heard of this matter until Mr [redacted] wanting reimbursement for the repairsOnce again we never had the opportunity to inspect and review our options prior to the repairs being performed, my suspicions about the validity of the diagnosis and repair put aside installing the synchronizer wrong would not cause the synchronizer to meltThe cost of a synchronizer from the [redacted] dealer is $the cost of the cam sensor from the [redacted] dealer is $I could have purchased both items after market for $My payment to Mr [redacted] was based on the dealer cost of the synchronizer and cam sensor plus reasonable labor which according to [redacted] which is an industry guide to labor times is hours at per hour your invoice also listed a sensor described as a [redacted] for $I called [redacted] and found this part to be an oxygen sensor which is located in your exhaust and we are in no way responsible for it if you had a problem with that part.I realize that you are not a mechanic and simply wanted your truck repaired I had three different people tell me they thought you had a transmission problem and since your transmission was under warranty it was necessary to take it back to those folks for repair I am truly sorry for the whole scenario we spent a lot of time trying to diagnose the problem before we threw in the towel.I do not know the repair shop you took this truck to and am not going to question their integrity the man I spoke to over the phone seemed competent and he can run his business any way he want's to but according to his prices for parts he charges 35% above dealer list which is a very hefty markup and I bet he purchased these parts after market just like any other shop wouldI also think that if he had simply found a bad synchronizer that repair would have been completed the same day that he called me and he would say see I told you so fact is it was several days later before your truck was repaired. The bottom line is this you have a warranty with us which covers everything on your truck that you were invoiced for, but there are hundreds of items under the hood that are original to your truck and were not replaced by us and are not warranted including the synchronizer, cam sensor and oxygen sensor that you recently had replacedI hope you understand the points I have raised and explained why I reimbursed you the amount I did Sincerely Clay [redacted]

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response If you wish, you may update it before sending it.] Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me I believe I prematurely misjudged [redacted] and his team After I got my car back to their shop he figured out that the only thing wrong with my car was the fuel pump I bought a fuel pump and [redacted] was generous enough to put it in free of cost because of the inconvenienceIf my car were to ever need anything mechanical done to it again I will be sure to take it to Texon Motor Center

Please call me at 526-so we can put this matter to restthank You Clay [redacted]

We are just as frustrated as Mr [redacted] we have installed different engines in his vehicle and are still having problems we have sent the truck to Tommy Vaughn Ford and they diagnosed it as a bad computer and wanted in excess of $to replace the computer we then sent it to A&B Auto Electric they said we should check the timing before they would go any further it has been checked more than once and we replaced the engine a second time just to rule out an engine problem We have had technicians come by our shop to diagnose the problem everyone says we have a problem with the computer we have incurred over $dollars in parts, labor and towing bills for a problem that is not engine relatedI told Mr [redacted] that if the Ford dealer found that we had done anything wrong we would cover a couple of days of his rental cost once again they said it needs a computer this is not related to the work we have performed there is no wiring damage as inspected by A&B Auto Electric we are commited to finding the problem and have sent the vehicle to Yale Automotive for diagnosis hopefully they will figure it out

Mr*** is wrong on every point to begin with his year warranty had expired when he brought his car to us, and then on top of that he did not have an oil leak it was a power steering leak totally unrelated to the engine workWe installed a new power steering pumpWhen he arrived to pick up
his car he accused us of losing his dipstick years agoAt this point he was such a squeaky wheel I said please take your car and keep the power steering pump at no chargeWell after a free power steering pump he decided that we were responsible for his torn convertible top and dead battery the vehicle is a 1974 *** that is not in very good condition the top is original and worn there are several places where someone has attempted to glue or silicone the material back together we had absolutely nothing to do with his worn out and glued together topOn top of all of this he then asked us to check his fuses to see why his top would not go down I refused and said we don't work on electrical systems and asked him to please take his vehicle somewhere else for repairs. Thank You Clay ***

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint I am not exaggerating the fact that I had to change oil six times in milesI am in the midst of a move otherwise I would have shown you the billsAnyway ask your people (Steve) whether the car had been to your workshop to times and for TWO AND A HALF MONTHSJust this last time you said you will fix the problem you kept the car for ONE MONTH and you could not fix it.Now first get the parts you need to fix the car (Gasket Valve and Gasket Valve Cover) and then contact meI wil bring down the car but I will not leave the car in your workshop, you will have to fix it and I will drive it back. Thank You.

Your warranty has expired if you are having any problems with acceleration or over heating you need to take your vehicle somewhere else we do not do general repairs only engine rebuilding and installations. Sincerely Clay ***

Regards,
As I stated in my original complaint my car was at Texon Motors for OVER months, now that I have my car back it is still in the SAME condition it was before I took it to themThey fixed a power steering pump but that is NOT what is wrong with the carThis is the problem, I informed the manager my car was not accelerating and told them I had to add oil because the car ran hotIf it was not in good condition it it because Texon did not do a good job on the $5,MOTOR/ENGINE they replacedThe temperament of Clay is the same in person as it is in his response to my complaintThe treatment I received was the same, alsoI was disappointed that my convertible top was ruined in their care but even more disappointed in the service and treatment. I am extremely upset with the damage to my property and the lack of consideration and customer serviceThe workers at Texon were even surprised how I was treatedI have never given someone $5,and been treated with this type of disrespectMy warranty was not expired when they received my carWhen I get home I will post the receipt w/warranty and dates and I will post photos of my car. All things considered Texon Motors DID NOT FIX the original problem that my car came to them for Warranty or no warranty, I did not ask them to do ANY work for freeMy BRAND NEW BATTERY is dead, my convertible top is ruined, and my car is still NOT FIXED the ultimate problem. If there were holes in the top when I went to check on my car in mid June I would have responded the same way but there were no tears then and no tears when it was dropped offIf there were I would have asked them to put it in a covered location

*** *** called me the day after picking his car up and said it was running poorly I asked him to bring it by so we could check things out he was suppose to bring the car to us this morning he has a warranty which we will honorI am waiting for his car. Thanks *** ***

Mr*** has every right to be aggravatedI completely dropped the ball he called me on Friday July the 8th and I promised to send a tech to Spring to check the car on Monday July 11th personal issues required my absence on the 11th and 12th I have contacted Mr*** and have scheduled
a tech to inspect the car Monday July 18th if it needs an intake gasket we will tow the vehicle and repair it at no chargeI have contacted Mr*** and he has graciously accepted our offer

We completed the engine installation on [redacted] truck on June 10th 2015 on July 3rd 2015 he had the vehicle towed back to us because the vehicle would not stay running. We were unable to do much for him that day due to the holiday and us being short handed. We started diagnosing the vehicle on...

July 6th and spent a few hours checking things before we pinned it down to be a bad carburetor we called the customer with our findings and he said he would have the vehicle towed home and replace the carburetor himself I offered to install the carburetor at no charge so that he would not incur an additional tow bill back home. [redacted] had to order a carburetor and it took a few days for him to get it to us at no time did he indicate that time was urgent the truck was also out of gas so we put in $10 worth to get it cranked up. July 16th he came to pick up the truck and the battery was dead and not enough gas to keep it running I understand his frustration I share some of that same frustration we started his truck just fine this morning July 17th and test drove it and called [redacted] to let him know it is ready for him to pick up. We spent several hours diagnosing and replacing his carburetor for free we generally have a policy of not replacing carburetors because they are a notorious problem however we made an exception in his case and it ended up costing us more than just our labor cost that were involved. We sincerely hope he has no further problems in the future and will always be here to honor our warranty.
Sincerely Clay W[redacted]

My exact words to you was take it to the shop of your choice if they discover a defective part that we invoiced you for or any damage that may have been caused by one of our technicians to stop and call me before any repairs were performed this was not done. Instead we were presented an inflated invoice including charges for an oxygen sensor that was not even part of your problem pardon me if I seem a little bit suspicious. The amount we paid you was [redacted] Dealer prices for the parts and reasonable labor to install the parts even though we were not contacted for approval prior to the repairs I don't feel we should be scalped just because we were trying to do the right thing.Sincerely Clay [redacted]

I am still waiting for her to come buy with the vehicle and receipts.

While we regret that you are having a problem with your [redacted] it has been well over a year since we installed the [redacted] and your warranty has expired. Even though your warranty has expired we offered to repair the [redacted] at cost but you decided not to accept our offer. We of...

course have no way of telling what failed on your [redacted] without seeing the [redacted] this you have not allowed so who's to say if your problem was related to the work we performed or possibly lack of maintenance, abuse or failure of a part not supplied by us such as a transfer case or drive shaft. Asking for a refund after your warranty has expired is not really reasonable I will offer once again to evaluate the [redacted] and repair it at cost if you are interested please give me a call. Sincerely Clay Whorton
