I have spoken to [redacted], the regional manager of New England Sound, Li C, This is the independently owned and operated Miracle-Ear franchise in your area. Mike will refund you the full amount of your purchase, 4780. A check for 2975 is being processed today out of the franchise main office in New York and the balance remaining of 1805 will be issued from the finance Company, Healthiplan. I had the opportunity to work with the franchise owner, [redacted]. I understand you have been in contact with her as well. I attempted to reach you on 2/13/15, leaving a voicemail. I have not received a response.
Your hearing aids were sent to the factory for repair. An analysis was done, which found both wax and foreign material on the hearing aids. Cgrids will be put on the hearing aids to assist in keeping wax out of the hearing aids. The local Miracle-Ear will also teach you how to change these to protect your hearing aids. Your hearing aids are also being completely rebuilt at the factory.
Ms. Lewis would like to continue servicing you, at the Buford location if you are able. They would also like to work with you further to help with any environmental changes in your everyday life. Regular follow-up appointments are necessary to keep your hearing aids in the best working condition. We also recommend increased frequency in visits over the next couple of months to ensure your hearing aids remain in good working order and to have the opportunity to address any questions you may have on care and cleaning at home. With these regular follow-up appointments, we would like to provide you with a one-year extended warranty until 5/15/2017.

I have further reviewed your signed documents and find that the 30 day trial was not met as you had follow up appointments into September. Since Mr. [redacted] feels he can assist you with your hearing. He is unable to process a refund. I would like to thank you for your patience and understanding through this process.

Please re-open this case. Due to technical difficulties, we just received your response. We understand that Mr. [redacted]'s appointments ran into September. This is because, instead of returning the money when requested, Mr. [redacted] "made a few adjustments" to the hearing aid, encouraging Mr. [redacted] to try them further. Then, Mr. [redacted] went on vacation. Upon returning, he "made a few more adjustments." This happened repeatedly into September, leading us to believe that the warranty was extended during these adjustments. In good faith, Mr. [redacted] kept trying the aids, hoping the adjustments would work. They did not. Offering adjustments instead of a refund and then refusing the refund beyond the 30 day guarantee seems to be a fairly common practice for this company, according to some of the complaints I read on your website. Please re-open this complaint. We believe that a refund is due. They have suggested otherwise since we first attempted to return the product.
