I wish I had read the previous filed complaints before calling this company for an electrical problem in the main circuit breaker panel at my home.
My complaint concerns the amount of money the company charges for services.
After technician arrived and checked panel he immediately stated that the main power and A/C circuits needed to be replaced. He determined this by pushing on the circuits and seeing what appeared to be overheating on the one for the A/C. He said something was causing the A/C circuit to overheat and recommended that their A/C company come and check the A/C. I just had the A/C checked about a month ago so I declined his offer.
My main complaint is what this company charges.
To replace the A/C breaker would cost way over $200.00(I think he quoted $280.00) but the main line breaker could go anytime and there would be real problems.
The second option would be to replace both main line and A/C breakers at a cost of $1400.00 (This option would require obtaining a permit from city and [redacted] to interrupt power so the main breaker could be changed). I agreed to this option, but I think the cost is way to excessive, even if the new breakers cost about $100.00 each, which I doubt after I checked prices in [redacted] for 50amp breakers.
The last option would be to replace the entire circuit breaker panel at a cost over $4000.00 which would not include mason repairs after new panel was installed. Needless to say I was floored.

I contacted this business because a gfci to some outdoor lighting and a fountain was tripping. They sent a technician who told me that he repaired the problem. In doing so, he added a light sensor, and a junction box for a total of over $1200. That night the gfci tripped again. The tech returned and replaced some wires in a junction box and stated that the problem was fixed. There was no charge. The gfci continued to trip and the technician returned again and stated that he could not figure out why it was tripping and wanted to return with another technician to figure it out. On the fourth visit, a single tech arrived and after a short time told me that there was a grounded wire running to a light, but because the wires were cemented into a wall, they would have to chisel out the wires requiring another contractor and several hours of labor. He gave me a quote of $700 for the wiring alone and stated that I would have to find a contractor to chisel out the wall and perform the subsequent repair. I decided that I would use my own electrical experience to find the problem and after isolating just a small number of wires, found a grounded wire going to the fountain(the wires going through the cement were, unequivically, NOT grounded!) To prove that I found the problem, I left the wires open and call Mister Sparky again. Then sent a different tech out for the fifth visit. I showed him the grounded wire, but he stated that it was not the problem. He could not however, state that there was some other reason that the wire was grounded and simply ignored it. He performed some further "diagnositcs" and stated that he needed to return with another tech to sort out the problem. He returned with tech #2 and another tech(a boss perhaps) and I showed them the very clearly grounded wire, but once again they ignored it and said that it is not the problem. Finally, they left stating that the pump(brand new and disconnected from the grounded circuit) to the fountain was the problem and that they "did not do pumps" so after I replace it they could return. Once again, I resorted to my own skills and rewired the grounded circuit. I pulled the old wires and discovered the sheath of the white wire completely eroded in one circuit and wires spliced and covered with only tape in another. After reconnecting everything, it worked fine and no gfci tripping occurred. Subsequently, I hired another electrician to reconnect the wires in a switch box that were open in my house and to ensure that what I had done was up to code and appropriate. [redacted](Local 640 IEW) stated that the work was excellent and up to code and there were no grounded wires. He evaluated the pump and it was fine. After he connected all the wires, the system worked fine and after 7 days, the gfci has not tripped. I asked Mister Sparky to refund my money, minus the cost of the light sensor and junction box that they replaced. They agreed, but I have yet to receive a check. This represents a negative experience and highlights the problem with contractors and ratings by Revdex.com. I chose this contractor from Revdex.com because of a rating of A, but they did work that was below standard and did not fix the problem. Also, they wanted to do work that was not going to fix the problem. This type of dishonesty further fuels the problem.

Would highly recommend Mister Sparky over others I have dealt with in the Phx arear.

I wish to offer my Highest Praise for Mr Sparky, especially my electrician Ryan, for the rapid response, professional work, reasonable fee and easy-to-deal with telephone contact center team. I am the president of a large condominium homeowner's association in Scottsdale, AZ, and we needed work done fast - Mr Sparky was the only electrician that was able to come out the next day. The have a very reasonable fee to come out and Ryan very quickly sized-up the situation and quoted the work and then completed the work very professionally. We have used many electricians over the years, but from now on, I will call Mr Sparky every time. Thank You Very Much!

Review: FAILURE TO SOLVE PROBLEM WITH REPAIR SERVICE. CONTINUE TO HAVE SAME PROBLEM AS BEFORE. MY HOME OFFICE AIR CONDITIONEER STOPS (SHUTS DOWN) WHEN IN USE. SPARKY EMPLOYEE'S CHECKED AND DECIDED THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THE 15 AMP AC BREAKER IN MY ELECTRICAL SERVICE BOX THAT KEEPS KICKING OFF DURING USAGE..

THIS HAS NOT RESOLVED THE PROBLEM. IT CONTINUES TO SHUT OFF WHEN TRYING TO USE THE AC.

THE PRICE OF $177.00 TO PULL AND PLUG IN A $10.00 ELECTRICAL BREAKER IS A LITTLE EXCESSIVE.

THEY WANTED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SERVICE BOX AND REWIRE AT A COST IN EXCESS OF $2000.00 ALONG WITH THE PURCHASE OF WAARRANTY SERVICE CONTRACT THAT WOULD SAVE ME A LOT OF MONEY FOR SERVICE IN THE FUTURE. THEY WERE MORE INTERESTED IN SELLING THEIR WARRANTY SERVICE CONTRACT THAN SOLVING MY CURRENT PROBLEM. A LOT OF TIME AND HIGH PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO ACCOMPLISH THE SALE OF SAID SERVICE.Desired Settlement: ISSUE CREDIT TO MY CREDIT CARD FOR CHARGE OF $177.00 THAT DID NOT SOLVE MY PROBLEM.

Our home was hit by a microburst that knocked over our huge pine tree, which destroyed our patio, the back half of our home, and ripped out all power lines to the house. We had such a great experience with Mister Sparky. Thanks to them, we were able to move back into our home ahead of schedule. We had to move our panel since the patio was being rebuilt and it was no longer to city code, and they were so timely working with the city of Scottsdale for permits and inspections, SRP to restore power, the contractor and our insurance company. The staff was extremely professional, nice and understanding. This was such a stressful time being displaced, and we were so grateful for the staff at Mister Sparky going out of their way to get us back home.

From the initial phone call to book the appointment all the way to when the technician left my house things were awesome! The call taker who booked my call was courteous, informative and got me an appointment for the very same day! The tech who came out was very professional and knowledgeable. I was offered a couple of different options for what I had requested to be done and we ended up having same day repairs done. The price may be a little higher than some other companies but the service was excellent and well worth it. I would for sure us them again; you get what you pay for.

Excellent service! Robert and his associate were very professional and friendly. Robert explained everything that was being done and even went beyond what was necessary to provide additional information to us regarding other electrical issues in the house including the state of the wiring (house was built in late 70s). He was very informative and I never felt like he was trying to "sell" us. He was also very comfortable to talk to as he did not "talk down" to me (someone who does not have a lot of understanding regarding older electrical issues.) That is very important to me! In future I will always request Robert and will recommend his services via Mr. Sparky to all of my friends and family.
