Purchased a 1969 Roadrunner from MJC Classic Cars for $35,000 on 12/5/18. The car supposed to be shipped from Florida.
When we try to find shipping date or status of the car we hear excuses or we will call you back and we never hear from them.

Desired Outcome

Delivery of the car in good condition as described on MJC Classic Cars, LLC web site.

MJC Classic Cars Response • Dec 20, 2018

I have talked to the buyer almost every day since this car was purchase 10-14 days ago. We are completing repairs an he has a ready to ship date. I have spoken with him by email and he says all OK... I did not talk to him for two days and he filed this complaint. If you ask him, you will see no issues... hopefully a quick complaint closing...
I am sure he will withdraw it.

Customer Response • Dec 29, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We are still waiting on delivery date of car. Owner did contact us indicated he would send us the information. Would like to keep the complaint open until we receive the car since its been over the time he indicated.

MJC Classic Cars Response • Jan 04, 2019

The car haas been set up for shipping and client knows it... I do not control pickup and we just crossed two holiday weeks.

MJC has kept their promises and timetable. I do not feel the client is being realistic. The timetable was discussed prior to purchase

I ahve talked to this client at least 15 times on the phone and another 15 emails and text messages. to say we are not communicating is not fair. at least 30 contacts in 30 days !

Customer Response • Jan 12, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
The owner addressed our concerns and has been responding to our inquiries. We did not realize it would take over a month to receive the car and we were concerned when we read previous customer's feedback. We would like the complaint closed.

I purchased this vehicle on 5-25-2018, I took delivery on 8-10-2018. Vehicle condition was misrepresented dealer agreed to take back and resell.
On 5-25-2018 I wire transferred 19500.00 to this car dealer for full payment of the Classic car of my dreams his ad for the vehicle stated all restoration was completed and ready for new owner. I was told after he received funds that vehicle needed just a couple of loose ends completed and after 100's of emails, text messages and phone calls and waiting over months I finally took delivery on 8-10-2018 in Kentucky. It was no surprise the vehicle was not as stated. I called Michael C on 8-10-2018 and asked him if he would resell this vehicle he said yes and gave me a price of 17500.00 and he pays shipping cost for return to Florida. I agreeed to take over a 3000.00 loss because I trusted this man and his inaccuract description of this vehicle and I did not have the car inspection prior to purchase. He sold the car on 9-5-2018. He has made me sign 3 different "buy back agreements" that he has written up and dated himself all have expired and he will not give me the agreed amount in his agreement. The last agreement he said that he did not have the money to pay me because he had to pay his rent and payroll therefore he could not meet his oun deadline and he offered me 500.00 more for being patient. I have emails and text messages for documentation

Desired Outcome

I would like refund as this dealer has promised for 17500.00 plus 500.00 for delay in payment as he has offered. He has made me sign 3 different dated "buy back agreements" each time changing the dates which he has never met.

MJC Classic Cars Response • Oct 08, 2018

's refund is in process. He will receive it by the end of this week.

The vehicle was not misrepresented. The buyer expectations were not realistic

Refund for repairs after receiving the vehicle okayed by MJC.
My wife and I purchased a 1972 Chevy Nova from Mike C at MJC Classic Cars Lakeland, FLA., April 2017. When I spoke to Mike I told him I wanted an inspection. His response was, use my inspector @ *** They will sell the inspection to you for $100.00 not the $300.00 normally charged. Per Mike the inspection was just done for another person who originally wanted the car but his financing fell thru. Save yourself $200.00. I did that but I probably should not have, as later I realized this was shady. We had a verbal agreement that there was to be a brand new vintage air conditioning system installed as well as items that would pass inspection in Pennsylvania. Mike said the car would be ready in 4 weeks. So after many phone calls and text messages to Mike and his mechanic over 3 months the car finally arrived, July 2017. There was little to no brakes, no working air conditioning, a transmission leak and improper paper work to get the car registered. When I spoke to Mike about the issues, the paperwork was handled promptly, and he assured me I could have the car repaired. Now 1 year later, no responses. I am still waiting for the $3200.00 it cost to have the car fixed. Many excuses have been given from hurricanes to *** fraud. I am no longer waiting, the complaint is being sent to the Revdex.com.

Desired Outcome

Refund the $3222.10 I spent.

MJC Classic Cars Response • Jul 30, 2018

it has been over a year since this car was delivered. I will pull the paperwork and the file to assess and refresh myself on the purchase.

We will always help and get involved in assisting for missed repairs but would never authorize a client to have a car fixed and send us a $3,200 bill.

We always stay involved in the process and not sure of the circumstances on this complaint. Will respond in the next two days as we understand the details.

Customer Response • Aug 17, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
It is understandable that you would have to pull our file. Since you never returned phone calls, etc., I was left with dealing with your service manager Mark.

If Mike had honored the agreement I would not have to embarrass him with a Revdex.com complaint. So if Mike is ready to honor the past agreement of $1500.00, that is fine. I will not sign anything until I have a cleared check. As I no longer have faith that MJC Classics will keep their word.

The car was sent to our regular mechanic shop that we use on all of our vehicles. Mike had a chance to rebuff the bill before the work began and we paid the bill. Again, no response. The cost of living in the east coast is higher for everything. Mike being a traveling business man I am sure would know this.

I personally believe MJC Classics thought they would just keep putting us and we would give up and go away.

MJC Classic Cars Response • Oct 01, 2018

we have accepted teh settlement, agreement and have it in out possession. Client's reimbursement check is in process. We have brought this matter to a conclusion.

Customer Response • Oct 08, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
E-mailed form to mike on Wed 9/19 asking for conformation that he received it, no response. E-mailed Mike for an acknowledgement on Fri 9/21, He did E-mail me back that the check is in the works. Again waiting on Mr. C to make good on his word. I will agree after I have a check and it clears. Again this has gone on far to long and it appears as if he does't want it to end

I purchased a car from MJC Classic Cars on Jan 3, 2018 and have yet to receive it. One excuse after another, a total run around.
I purchased a 1967 Oldsmobile 442 on Jan 3, 2018 and paid full price in advance plus more for custom work to be done. I was told it would be about 6 weeks but have been getting one excuse after another for the past 2 months. Today I am trying to arrange delivery of the vehicle but the delivery company MJC has offered seems suspicious and is already giving excuses for this and that. I have yet to receive a straight answer from Michael C about anything that I can confirm.

Desired Outcome

I would like for Michael C to follow through with the documentation he promised so that I can arrange for delivery.

MJC Classic Cars Response • Apr 18, 2018

The client filed this complaint because he said I did not keep my promise to send him updated paperwork. When I challenged him as it was sent, he found it in his spam folder.

The client as agreed to withdraw this complaint and he will be contacting you tomorrow.

Customer Response • Apr 19, 2018

Thank you for your assistance with this matter. Michael C/MJC Classic Cars has convinced me that my problems were a result of misunderstandings and he has agreed to follow through on his obligations to me and correct the problems.

Consequently, I would like to withdraw my complaint as of April 19, 2018.

Thank you again for your assistance in this matter. Revdex.com has real value.

The car that my wife and I purchased from MJC classic cars is not as advertised.
It was advertised as being rust and accident free, newer repaint, rebuilt engine, rebuilt transmission and was promised everything on the car would work as it should. We also paid $1,000.00 for new tires.

When the car was finally delivered on 3/10/18 it did not have the new tires that we had paid for .
the car also has rust throughout the body, very old paint job with rust bubbles underneath the paint, Also the engine has NOT been rebuilt, it shakes severely, the transmission has a loud squealing noise, the driver's door will not stay shut nor can you lock it, back-up lights, choke and defroster do not work and the heater coil has been removed.

The new carpet was poorly installed , the jack in the pics was replaced with a rusty partial one.

MJC Classic Cars Response • Apr 10, 2018

We are aware of this client's unhappiness. We dispute their claims but have offered to ship the car back and resell the car for them at no charge. The client had us install new air conditioning which was completed properly.

We have also offered to help with any needed repairs and send the new tires to them direct as we did miss those.

This car is a 64 year old 1953 Packard Sedan. The client's expectation was unrealistic for a car of this price point and age. They also chose not to have a pre-purchase inspection completed. They signed AS IS documents and understand there is no warranty.

Our offer stands to resell the car for them and they hold the title until it is resold and they are paid.

We pride ourselves on our business reputation. But in this instance the buyer is being unrealistic with their buyer remorse

If we resell the car for them we expect this case to be closed.

Customer Response • Apr 12, 2018

The 1953 Packard that we bought from you was advertised as being a rust free car with newer repaint, rebuilt motor, rebuilt transmission and was promised that everything on the car would work as it should. We also paid you $1,000.00 for new tires.
The car was delivered in the condition as follows: Rust throughout the body and very old paint. The motor has NOT been rebuilt and shakes severely. The transmission roars very loud and the new tires that we paid for were NOT received. Also the heater core and fan had been removed. The air conditioning was NOT properly installed because the heat from it is very minimal and the defroster does NOT work. The driver's door will Not stay shut or locked. The back-up lights, choke and several other things are nonfunctioning.
It is not unrealistic to expect that this car should have been delivered in the condition that it was advertised. Your statement that you would pick up the car, sell it and then give us our money is unacceptable due to the fact that you have broken every promise that you have made.
We own two other vintage cars from the 1940's , which were bought from two different vintage car dealers. We were pleased with both because they were delivered in the condition exactly as they were advertised.
The solution is simple, demonstrate integrity and decency by honoring our request to refund our money and then picking up the car. It is safe and waiting for you in our garage where it has been since it's arrival.

MJC Classic Cars Response • Apr 12, 2018

MJC has agreed to a full refund after the car is resold... including the upgraded AC system. and we pay the shipping back... We will send an immediate refund for the tires at $1,000. We represented the car properly and stand by our reputation. The buyer holds the title until car is resold.

we are not required to do this... we are offering to make a client happy.

the buyer's expectations for the value of car purchased are not realistic. we sold 324 classic cars last year and do not have problems... this is buyer remorse and no pre-purchase inspection was completed.

Customer Response • Apr 16, 2018

Mr. C's statement of "buyer's remorse" is nonsense and no more than
calculated rhetoric to discredit the truth. Our unhappiness is due to the
FACT that he MISREPRESENTED this car in his advertisement and did NOT
fulfill his obligations of the contract. This car is definitely NOT in the
shape that he advertised and promised, thus proving himself the proverbial
used car salesman.
His unsound offer to pick up the car, sell it and then pay us when it is
sold is NOT acceptable. We know by his actions that we would never get our
money back. We want a FULL refund by wire transfer and then for him to
pick up this car. This dispute will then be over.

Seller Misrepresented vehicle as being fuel injected vehicle smog ready. Vehicle is Carburetor with missing parts and will not pass California smog.
I purchased one 1976 Cadillac from Mike J. C site unseen. Paid what he was asking with the assurance that the vehicle was what he said it was... Road ready, not so! received the vehicle three months after purchasing and discovered the vehicle has major mechanical issues. One the vehicle was sold as a fuel injection car, was and is not it has a carburetor and the carb. has missing parts which are difficult to find and will not pass Cal. smog without these parts. Two, the vehicle needed over two thousand dollars worth of repairs. Vehicle had no oil in engine, needed fuel filter, electrical issues such as dash lights does not work, electric seats needed repair and windshield wiper and motor needed replacing. I have reached out to Micheal J. several times trying to resolve issues with this vehicle all to no avil. He would only get angry and continues to make excuses that he has turned the issue over to his mechanics. Mike has ask me to stop calling him. Told me I no longer needed to be involved with the repairs of my vehicle. I has exhausted all avenues trying to work these issues out with Micheal.

Desired Outcome

I am wanting MJC to pay for all repairs needed for this vehicle to be road ready as he stated upon purchasing this car. If car is not able to pass California smog I would like a full refund.

MJC Classic Cars Response • Mar 01, 2018

This client is one of the most frustrating clients I have had in eleven years. We have heard his complaints and offered to assist many times although we not feel most of his complaints are not our problem.

Weeks go by between contact and angry accusations, but no problem solving happening.

He took weeks of time to finally get a mechanic to help him and involve our contact with my shop manager. His mechanic dropped the ball and did not provide needed info for weeks.

*** called and chastised us, not even knowing his mechanic dropped the ball. Their refusal to ask for our help caused much wasted time on their part without providing us the requested info.

After the heated discussion calmed down we were reconnected with the mechanic, located the needed parts (that they said could not find) in a fifteen minute period. There are multiple versions of the parts and the mechanic was to take pix and email to us three weeks ago.

The pix were received yesterday, likely after *** bumped the mechanic. He lied to *** and told him he had sent the pix multiple times. He still has not sent the address to direct ship the parts to speed up the process...

This car was not sold as a fuel injected car and *** knows that. I am very frustrated being blamed for lack of requested information from the mechanic to solve this problem. This is $20 in minor parts and it is our opinion the mechanic is not familiar with classic cars or he would have solved the problem long ago.

He has been followed up by our shop manager without response.

The list of repairs in this complaint have been exaggerated and MJC has always offered to help.

MJC is tired of being blamed for problems that are created by ***'s mechanics lack of concern (or ability) to help ***.

The car does not have a run-ability problem, it has minor emissions problem that can be solved for $50 by a COMPETENT mechanic. *** does not have that, and told him he needs to find one.

I have spoken with *** on the phone tonite, we have solved the problem and *** has agreed to retract the complaint.

MJC does not hide from problems. We resolve them. But it takes two way communication for us to solve long distance problems. We did not have this in this case.

I am just happy it is now resolved...

Customer Response • Mar 02, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
***,

Thank you for your quick action on this matter, however this matter has not yet been resolved by MJC Classic Cars and Myself.

Micheal J. continues to blames others for his lack of honesty and integrity in doing business. I am currently into this vehicle for the total amount of $6,932.42 and Micheal wants me to pay for transport and DMV fees to have the car returned. Micheal needs to understand that he sold a car that had been modified and modified incorrectly by whomever replaced fuel injection with carburetor... Unfortunately this is not as easy as MJC would portray the matter to be. The emissions problem and parts are not that easy to find for this year and model vehicle after the system has been converted over. This was a matter that was not discussed in exchange or upon purchases of this vehicle. MJC was deceptive in practice and principal and I believe knew this could be a potential problems.
Micheal continues to blame others for MJC's responsibly and continues to deflect when it comes to trying to resolve this matter.

I am willing to resolve this matter but I will not lose over six thousand dollars over something that should have been resolved by MJC mechanic before this vehicle was sold..

If Micheal J. is willing to come to an agreement on transport, dmv, or repairs that were done on vehicle I will be more then willing to resolve this matter.

I will not be threaten by (as I was) by Micheal J. C to drop or dismiss this complaint with threat of attorneys suing me over slander. I have well documented paperwork, repair orders, and monies I have put out sense purchasing this vehicle.

I stated to Micheal that I will not return to him a vehicle that is in better condition then I received. I am willing to take some lose but he needs to also accept some responsibility in this matter.

I have attached a few documents that may help Micheal understand the trouble I have been dealing with since purchasing this vehicle... If more is needed I will supply.

I paid Micheal J. earnest money Oct. 2017 did not receive the car until Jan. 15th 2018 and it's been in the repair shop til this day... I continue to pay a car note on a vehicle I can not drive and have not had the experience to enjoy! I am truly hurt and fill taken advantage of by MJC as he pushed selling this vehicle.

Micheal assured me that I was getting a vehicle that was road worthy/sound and I would not have to put any money into this car mechanically.

I am taken aback how he continues keep blaming me and others for his business practices. I purchased this car to enjoy, not to repair! This matter has not yet been resolved.

Thank you for your time in this matter.

Attached three docs.

Thank you

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We are currently working with MJC Classic Cars LLC to resolve this issue.

Never return phone calls about a vehicle that they sold to us.
Purchased a 65 mustang online and was not fully repaired and in good running order. Vehicle leaks and has outer mechanical issues. Do not return calls will not answer calls.

Desired Outcome

If he can not repair vehicle then he should return the money we paid to purchase vehicle

MJC Classic Cars Response

The client nor his mechanic did not reach out to us for almost two months. The mechanic was telling the client he was calling us and was not... This was all resolved yesterday, we are assisting in handling the problem. The client will be withdrawing the complaint. Please reach out to him. He called yesterday, our first communication since before the hurricane. After he called yesterday, communication started to flow. Mechanic admitted he did not even have possession of the car to diagnose what is needed to be fixed. He also admitted he had not called us once since before the hurricane.
thanks Mike
