Review: A debt which I owed for a surgical procedure was turned over to a collection agency. There was no attempt to do an automatic withdrawal as I had authorized from my bank account. They said that I had no account, which is not true. I do, and I had plenty of money to cover the payment. In all probability, they entered the incorrect routing and account number. When they did not find my account at Bank of America, the company should have called me, but they did not. In the meantime, my credit rating has taken a hit due to no fault on our part. I will pay the total amount due ASAP, but the company needs to improve its practices.Desired Settlement: They must withdraw a bad report to credit rating agencies. I want evidence that they have done it.

Hello Mr. [redacted],

On 8/6/14 we attempted to run the payment with the information provided on your signed MedDraft contract with Memorial Hermann Surgical Hospital Kingwood. The payment was returned "unable to locate account". The account then defaulted to our Pre-Collection Customer Service department and we attempted to reach you by phone on 8/12/14. The account was reassigned to us in error on 8/11/14 and that account has since been closed. The balance due is $883.70.

This account has not been reported to the credit bureaus.

We have sent validation of the debt via US Mail.

Should you need anything further, please contact our Customer Service Department at 888-816-5944.

Thank you,

Mnet Financial Inc.

Very friendly and helpful for a collections agency. Though. I wish they would stop reporting to transunion once accounts are paid in full. The customer service girl gave me advice from personal experience on taking care of the transunion report which was refreshing and unique for collections account managers. Thank you!

Review: I admittedly lost track of a bill from a surgery performed last year. I am not disputing that the bill should or should not have been sent to collections, I had many bills from the surgery and thought I was paid up. I am disputing the matter in which MNET Financial notified my of the collection filed against me.

I received a letter in January 2016 notifying me of the collection against me, the letter also notified me that there had been several attempts to contact me. This letter was the first I had heard of a debt collector. When I called to determine the attempts that had been made to contact me, I was informed they had called and left a couple of voice messages as well as sent another letter that I never received.

I usually do not answer phone calls from numbers I do not know, if a voicemail is left I will return the call. Having learned all this, I went back and looked at my voice mail box and the messages are still there. The voice mails that were left were very vague, they did not identify me by name nor did they give any information that made me think I should treat the call seriously. Therefore, I can see how I ignored the messages when they were left. \

I believe it is the responsibility and duty of MNET to properly contact me immediately once I had entered collections to alert me to the matter. They should have sent a letter, immediately, addressed to me by name so that I was aware. Phone calls, should have addressed me, by name, so that I knew it was a legitimate issue. I had no issue paying the bill, the issue is I did not know I had the bill. The bill has now been paid. Now because of MNET's poor communication, my credit has suffered. They should be held responsible for bad business practice.Desired Settlement: I want MNET to withdrawal the negative credit feedback that was applied to my credit history.

Hello,Our records indicate that we received the account in September of 2015. Statements were mailed to the address confirmed by the consumer in this complaint and mail was not returned by the US Post Office. Additionally, calls were made and messages left in accordance to the FDCPA laws. Thank you for your payment made on 2/9/16 . Your account has been updated as paid and satisfied with the credit bureaus.

Review: Acct# [redacted]-I was referred by my doctor to Texas Radiology in Flower Mound, TX in May of 2012 for a standard procedure. Texas Radiology accepted my insurance and copay. Approximately one month later we receive an additional invoice for $109.19 for undefined charges and we contested these charges. We later receive notice of collections from MNET Financial. I made several calls to this collection agency and agreed to pay the outstanding amount (under protest) with one condition suggested through legal advice. That condition was that the account number assigned by MNET be deleted. MNET refused only stating that they would display a $0 balance. Why do they need to hold the account open if the balance has been paid in full? We certainly do not intend to solicit any product or future transactions from them. Please offer any assistance to alleviate this matter.Desired Settlement: As previously stated, we will pay the outstanding amount under protest if our account is deleted from MNET files and written proof is provided to our satisfaction that this task has been accomplished.

Mnet Financial received this account in September of 2012. We made multiple attempts to resolve the balance with the consumer to no avail. We allow a 90-day grace period before credit reporting occurs and consumer failed to pay within that 90 days. If this is paid, it will be updated as paid and satisfied accordingly with the credit bureaus.Thank you,Mnet Financial Inc.

Review: This company is a collection agency. However, the [redacted] supervisor([redacted])has advised them since October 2014, that the account balance is $0 and should've never been on my credit in the first place. Instead of them removing the account, they are ignoring everyone; this should be illegal!! I did an online dispute, mail-in dispute, and am now doing a complaint because this company has to be held accountable for their actions.Desired Settlement: I'd like the account to be removed from my credit report, and I'd like it retracted to the correct date. I can't purchase a home until this is removed from my report. It's killing my credit score!!

Review: I contacted MNET on February 27, 2015 because I had misplaced my debit card and was behind on a payment and wanted to do the right thing and schedule a payment so they knew that I wanted to pay off the debt. I spoke with a guy and asked the payment be set for March 14, 2015 in the amount of $145.00. I gave him my new debit card number and within a few minutes he said he had a confirmation number for me. This immediately threw up a red flag and I asked him if he took the payment out know because I did not have the money in there now to cover and it would bounce. There was complete silence on the phone. I knew he did so I said "You did didn't you, you took the payment out now." He said he did, apologized and said he would cancel the payment and reschedule it for March 14 while I was on the phone. Great, all was well until I look at my checking account the following Monday to see it was in a negative balance because the payment was not cancelled as I was told it was. So I called MNET back and spoke with a guy named [redacted]. I told him what happened from Friday until this point. He apologized and said they would put the $145.00 back in my account and pay any courtesy fees my bank had charged me due to MNet's neglect. [redacted] said all I needed to do was send them some sort of paperwork from my bank showing the negative balance and that it was caused by MNET. The following day MNET had returned the $145.00 to my checking account and I was in a negative balance of $50.05. I did as [redacted] instructed and emailed (to the email address [redacted] provided) my banking information showing the negative balance. I also called [redacted] after sending the email to ensure that they were going to refund the $50.05. [redacted] stated the money would be returned by Friday and at this point the money is not in my account. It strange they can return the $145.00 within a day but cannot right the wrong the did quickly.Desired Settlement: I would like MNET to give the $50.05 back like their employee [redacted] stated they would since they caused this problem. I am willing for them to pay the last payment I will own them after they deduct the $145.00 from my account on March 14th. The remaining balance owed with be a little under $50.00. Either give me the $50.05 back or agree that the last payment is already accounted for on MNET's part.

Review: This company has been reporting a collection that does not belong to me on my credit files. The account number in question as it appears on my credit reports is [redacted].

This company did NOT send me a notice of this collection or gave me an opportunity to dispute these allegations or request validation of them as required by law.

I have already disputed this debt on at least two occasions through the credit bureaus without success, which is why I am now seeking your assistance in this matter.Desired Settlement: I would like the following:

1. The immediate and permanent removal of this collection from all of my credit reports.

2. That this file be closed and all collection efforts stopped.

Business

Response:

Mnet Financial has never received a dispute validation request from this consumer nor has it been disputed with Transunion according to our records. We have closed the account and will remove it from the consumer's credit which can take up to 2 weeks to be reflected. We will also send the consumer a confirmation letter.

Review: I had a bill of 879.17 from a surgery center. I was put on a 25.00 per month payment plan. I paid my bill on time every month and in march 2014 I paid the full balance of 279.17 that was remaining. This was 10 months ahead of schedule. On may 6 2014 at 7:43 eastern time I got a call from mnet saying I owed 25.00$. I asked how much they showed that I had paid and she said 879.17 which is what the paperwork they sent me in 2012 says was my total balance and I told her this. she was rude and said that must be a typo because I still owe 25. I asked for a supervisor and she said he wouldn't be in till tomorrow and he could not make this "go away". I have 2 bills from them and both say that my total amount owed is 879.17 which they agree that I paid. I want them to acknowledge that I have done my part and paid my debt. I want the harassing phone calls to stop. I have the original bill that shows the balance was 879.17 if I owed more I would have paid it but I don't. I have excellent credit and always pay my bills and like I said I paid this off 10 months early. I would very much appreciate your help in resolving this matter. Thank you. [redacted]Desired Settlement: I want them to admit that I paid all that I owed in a timely manner and do not owe any more money. I want the harassing phone calls to stop and I want something in writing showing that I paid this debt in full.

Response:

The original creditor, Riverside Surgery Center reported the mentioned $25.00 payment on 5/7/14. The account is now closed and paid in full and no longer in collections. We have mailed a receipt to Ms. Eugenia Turner for her records.

Thank you,

Collections Manager

Review: The last correspondence I sent your company on Dec 7, 2013 pertained to a demand for validation. Your company has failed to provide me validation of the account and at the same time persevered with reporting the account on my credit report. This is a blatant violation of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA Sec 809). Hence, I hereby declare my intent to bring suit against your company under the regulations, due to your continued collection activity and failure to remove the account from my credit report.Desired Settlement: I am allowing you a period of 14 days to remove the account from my credit report, after which I will pursue this matter in California Superior Court. I have brought this matter to the attention of the Attorney Generals Office. You may only correspond with me by mail and are to cease all collection activity pertaining to this account.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[ I didn't ask for validation in my complaint.

I asked that the account be deleted in light of the fact that the company

failed to validate the account and kept persevering with collection activity

despite it. Hence, once again in light of this company's violation of the FDCPA

Sec 809 , which gives me the right to pursue this matter in court, I am

demanding that the account be deleted or I will pursue this company for the

violation

Regards,

Business

Response:

Mnet Financial has removed this account from the consumer's credit accordingly.
