Moishe's Moving Systems Reviews (24)

Hello,
This file was settled for $ 360.  Attached is the e-mail correspondence with the customer and the print out from out accounting software showing we mailed a check for $ 260 on 7/2/2014.  Moishe's is not offering any additional compensation.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Regards,
[redacted] and where do we stand now as I need payment from Moishe's soon-Eventhough they are not honest, I $139 every month to Moishes for my furniture stored at their storage in LIC since 1 Oct 2013. Some of the reviews are negative that they have bugs and
moths that eats up people's furniture etc. I pray to god they first reimburse me for the bed, moreover I hope my furniture is not rotting in their storage. I thank you
I would like to inform Moishe‘s for the last time after all the details provided in the initial complaint has been overlooked and you are in total denial. IT WAS NOT MY DECISION TO LEAVE MY BED BEHIND but IT WAS YOUR MOVERS WHO WENT ON STRIKE AND REFUSED TO MOVE IT VIA STAIRS so it was your staff who pushed me to abandon my bed. This is simple English, so why are you repeatedly accuse me faser instead of accepting your mistakes and bad behaviour. I did not get any help from [redacted] when l was desperate. He refused to answer my calls. I am honest and I stand by my words unlike you.
Your flowery language on your website is contrary to what I experienced. There is no truth on your website. Your staff are unprofessional, not skilled, do not know how to wrap furniture and do what they want to do. where is the justice?
People are not stupid. All this will go public and as a result tarnish your reputation.
[redacted] and [redacted] told me that your movers are specially trained to do everything and anything and moving it via stairs is what they always do. When I was desperate, [redacted] refused to answer or reply to my calls. I was flying out the same day.
What in your mind was I supposed to do with it, throw it down via the windows??? there is no justice in your answer. For god's sake why don't you accept the facts instead of ducking, circumventing and hiding behind your guilt.
I am outraged and fed up because I am still renting storage from you paying $139 a month since September 2013. don't you have any respect for your customers?? In Honesty I am not comfortable keeping your storage anymore with this kind of false accusations, lies and dishonest business.
[redacted] is very small and word about your behaviour will flare like fire and this is a fact. They are your biggest customers.
Having said that for you to repeatedly blame me and accuse me falsely that it was my decision for leaving it behind IS A TOTAL LIE. All your replies are consistently packed with lies. Shame.
For you to offer token $250 is not acceptable. New beds of the same kind costs $5,000. From the beginning I was reasonable by asking half the price so your token offer adds insult to injury. For you to say in good faith?????? what faith?
I need my total reimbursement to settle this dispute.

Hello, We are sorry however we waived the $125 fee on delivery and spoke to your husband on the day of the delivery and he was ok with it.  We are not offering any additional refund as the services were provided.

Hello,
The items were delivered timely and within the transportation window promised.  I spoke to the customer and there was a lamp missing, everything else was ok.  Moishe's agreed to pay for the lamp.  The check for $60 for the lamp will be mailed within a week.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Moishe's purposefully deceived us and lied about promised services.  Simply delivering our goods (some of which were missing and many of which were broken) does NOT fulfill their contract.
Regards,
[redacted]

High Tide Helicopters is a professional, safe, and courteous aviation business. The owner/operator of HTH (Jessica), is very knowledgeable of the Oak Island/Southport area, as well as an outstanding helicopter instructor pilot. I highly recommend taking an aerial tour of the beaches and islands if you are in the area. If you are looking to learn to fly a helicopter, this is the place! You will not be disappointed!

Hello,
We settled this and mailed a check for $400.
This was agreed on, Moishe's is not offering any additional compensation.

Hello,Sorry to hear of the issues.  We do not have any claim form filled out for damage/missing items on file.  If you feel you were overcharged for the storage you can call the storage facility directly and speak to them about the charges.  In reference to the issues with the...

move we can offer $400 to settle the matter.

Hello,
There are 2 inventories.  One inventory is from the residence to storage.  When you book a long distance job they create a new inventory.  2 boxes are sometimes packed into a larger box and items are re wrapped.  Stuff can be loose in a storage unit, but to go long distance the items need to be packed differently to be stacked.  This is why the inventory is different.  in an effort to resolve this we can offer $500 to resolve this.  This exceeds the legal liability of 60 cents per pound.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I am rejecting this response because:I had contacted immediately about the damages and have emails responding to my inquiry. I was never asked to fill out a claims damage form. 400 dollars doesn't even begin to cover the damages done by your horrible moving company. I demand the full full from what I paid for storage as well as what I was overcharged to be paid in full. IF the full fee is not paid, I  be taking this matter to court and sueing for a lot more. I would be happy to fill out a damage form of it means I will be reimbursed faster. Again, if I am not reimbursed, you will end up paying far more in damages and I will make sure to spread this story in every social media tool, local news broadcast. I'm already in touch with individuals from my 9, new York times and huff post. This is horrible business practice! Shame on you for calling yourself a business and just swindling people!

Our records indicate that you disputed 2 months on your credit card for the storage and received the money back on your card.  In an effort to resolve this matter and in good faith we will not argue the 2 months you disputed on your card and can increase our offer to $500. Please note the standard coverage is by the weight of the items.

I am rejecting this response because:
It is completely unsatisfactory. I have not cashed Moishe's check.

The customer stated they had a piece that was damaged and a box missing. The coverage is 30 cents per pound and the total offer would have been an offer of about $100. We paid for the restoration of the damaged furniture and have offered $600 for the missing box.

Review: I hired Moishe’s to move my belongings from NYC to CA for $2,700. As I could not be in CA to meet the truck, I arranged for a friend to pay the driver upon delivery. I informed Moishe’s of this arrangement.

7/4/13: I did not request an exact delivery date. However, Moishe’s agreed by e-mail to give me 24 hours’ notice of delivery. I requested that they call either the drop-off location or my friend (who had the check).

7/22/13: They called neither.

7/23/13: They called me when they were about to deliver my property. It was impossible for me to get them their payment without notice.

7/25/13: Moishe’s refused to deliver my property unless I paid them $520 extra. This was extortion. Even after I produced proof to the contrary, they insisted that their driver had called me 24 hours before the move. What’s more, their sales rep was verbally abusive on the phone.

7/29/13: I paid Moishe’s $100. I did so only because they refused to deliver my property unless I paid them something. They extorted this money from me.

My friend photographed the damage, and when I returned to CA I saw it. The nature and the extent of the property damage suggest that it was intentional. All 5 dressers and both lamps were badly damaged. One of the dressers was “keyed.” The holes in the dressers were the shape of shoes, suggested that they had been kicked in. The estimates I received from furniture and lamp repair companies totaled $4,115.

4/25/14: I submitted my claim.

June & July 2014: I had to request the check twice. I did receive it (after the promised time).Desired Settlement: I am seeking a refund in the amount of $2,700 + $100 = $2,800. Upon receipt of payment by check, I will return the insurance check without cashing it and will take no further action and pursue no further remedies.

Review: The movers moved us to a storage unit.We were there for 2 weeks because our home was not ready. When the new movers came to move our furniture out of the storage unit, they called us to see how the original movers(Moishe's) neglected to properly pack and cover our custom made $1035.00 kitchen table. It was cracked, split, and gouged, because they put other furniture on top of it without covering the table. We called them and even spoke with several furniture companies that said this damage could not be repaired. We spoke to the claims person [redacted] S. who had us fill out a claim form and send pictures. We did and this and this went on for weeks, Then we were told we had to fill out claim forms with the Roanoke Insurance company that they recommended for us to take and we did. Well it is now 2 months and we just got a letter denying the claim saying it was not covered by the insurance. We have all the paper work showing that it is covered. We have no problem taking them to small claims court because after phone conversation with [redacted] from Roanoke Ins she said they should have not covered or written the table in the contract. That comment further verifies the damage they did. We are eating on a folding table. They did wrong and need to rectify their error. We now have a buffet that was customed made with this table that we can't use anymore either but did not ask for a claim inclusive of that. Please helpDesired Settlement: They need to give us the cost of the table minus the 250.00 deductible which would be a check for $785.00. We have to buy another table that we never would have needed to do had they done their jobs correctly.

Hello,

I spoke to moving insurance and spoke to the manager there. The damage was not covered. I spoke to moving insurance and they came to a settlement with the customer. the dispute was an insurance issue with the customer. We still got involved and helped get it to resolution. Attached is the release between the customer and movinginsurance. Moishe's feels this complaint should be removed from our record as it was an issue between the insurance co and the customer.

Review: Moishe's Moving Co. picked up items at apartment 2D, 101 Lincoln Avenue, Mineola, NY, for delivery to [redacted]e. There were 16 large cartons that the owner packed and 8 pieces of furniture. that the mover packed. Items were picked up on August 27, 2013, and delivered on September 22, 2013. Items packed by homeowner were delivered in perfect condition. 5 out of 8 pieces of furniture packed and delivered by mover were severely damaged. One of these items is an antique curio cabinet, which was not only damaged but also missing 4 shelves. Company has failed to admit responsibility or offer compensation.

Several calls have been made to the company and 88 photos of damage were sent.2Desired Settlement: Refund Moving Fee and Repair Damage.

Response:

Hello,

We reviewed the complaint. The move was completed. After the move the customer called of damages. We have e-mailed a claim form and are waiting for the claim form to be filled out so we can have it processed and make an offer. Once we have the claim form we can look to resolve this.

Review: On Thursday, December 5, 2013 I emailed a Relocation Specialist with whom I had been in contact with for about a mouth to inquire, "About the long-haul moves, that's in your guys' truck or is it contracted out? Are the drivers Moishe's drivers?"

A few hours later, the rep responded with, "OH sorry, I thought I answered that question in my last email. No we do not out source our moves. We are not brokers or van lines. Moishe's begins the move and we will finish it as well. Plus we have an main office in Chicago as well. No worries [redacted] you will be well taken care of."

Fast-forward to my move from Brooklyn on January 31, 2014 and the Moishe's movers arrived and packed up my tiny apartment in under two hours. I signed off on a total charge of $1,000 and laid out a $500 deposit via credit card.

My items arrived in Chicago on February 7 transported by two gentleman who did not work for Moishe's. The driver and I spoke: I leanred his name is [redacted] and he's from Arizona. He was in New York and drove his way through to Indiana. Moishe's did not provide any information as to who this driver was. Even on the invoice there is no name of this man's trucking company. Neither man had any affiliation with the company, did not know the dispatcher, and were unequipped to handle the balance of my payment: an updated total of $1,266, not less any deposits.

It took almost 1 hour to get in touch with Moishe's dispatcher, who then wanted me to text (using the driver's phone) my credit card information to him. I told him that was unacceptable and that the movers were not even Moishe's. I had no choice but to read my CC info off over the phone and pay the balance on my account: $766, plus the $300 in cash for the shuttle service.

One day later I had unpacked my boxes to find a tall, standing lamp missing from the lot. I have been in touch with the company three times in the last three days and have not been able to speak with a single person who can help locate the lamp. It's unacceptable.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a refund of $1,066; the second-half of my payment for when my items were transferred from Moishe's care into the services of another company whose name I was never even informed of.

The items were delivered timely and within the transportation window promised. I spoke to the customer and there was a lamp missing, everything else was ok. Moishe's agreed to pay for the lamp. The check for $60 for the lamp will be mailed within a week.

Response:

The delivery was complete. The shuttle service is on the contract and was needed. There were no issues noted on the move or any phone calls regarding this issues until after the move was complete. The customer received what was promised. No refund is due to the customer. Moishes is good faith is offering $ 100 back to the customer.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me, though it does not absolve the company from its deliberate vagueness in its contract or communications.

$100 good faith credit is appreciated within 10 business days.

Review: Firstly, I was double charged the first month than every month from that, I was over charged. I contacted [redacted] (the costumer service rep) many times about this matter and have yet to be reimbursed. Also, we vacated the storage the first day of December but I was still charged for the full month even after being told over the phone that this wouldn't be the case. I have emailed and called about reimbursement and have never gotten reimbursed.Secondly, EVERY SINGLE item that we stored with them was broken and damaged beyond repair. We tried to repair but had to throw out. These items included: two wardrobes which totaled about 2000 together (one of the wardrobes, the moving guy broke in front of me!!!!!!!), my daughters mattress was folded in half and couldn't be unfolded, despite placing heavy items on it to straighten it out, our kitchen table had a corner broken off, was tended and scratched and had a sticky substance spilled on it which smelled chemical based. THEY LOST the following irreplaceable items: four kitchen tables, four boxes containing our wedding video, my university diploma, my daughters birth certificate, our wedding album, expensive purses, shoes, dining ware and silverware and books. I have requested the items back and have not been contacted. I wrote countless emails and called countless times to get reimbursed in full for the damaged furniture and lost items, but Moisha's storage company will only get back to you if they are about to get money from you. Horrible experience. If they refund me in full for all the months than I will not take legal action. If they do not, I have contacted an attorney and am prepared to resolve this issue (and request money for the damaged items which are all photographed). this is a horrible company that are cheats and commit horrible business practices.Desired Settlement: $1,301
