Mountain Air Duct & Carpet Cleaning Reviews (28)

Review: I originally contacted [redacted] to have my air ducts cleaned. The company that came out was Mountain Air Duct Services. They told me that they were the sister company of [redacted]. The came out and with in 20 minutes said they cleaned out the duct vents on my main level. They did not even clean every vent.

They immediately told me that I needed additional services which would total $500. I told them that I was not going to pay that and they continued to tell me how important it was. The man then took a picture using his cell phone to show me how dirty it was which there is no way that a cell phone camera could show my ducts. I then told him that I wanted the return cleaned and he told me it would be $250 additional. I told him that I was going to call the owner and of which I contacted [redacted] and they told me the owner would call me right back.

The man's cell phone rang and when he got off the phone he said they would clean the return for no additional charge. AS soon as I told him that I was not going to pay anything additional, they were quick to pack up their tools and leave. I heard him tell one of the workers in spanish to clean quickly and to not be thorough. After they left I noticed they did not even clean all of the vents because the one in my bathroom was caulked and the caulk was still in place. As they were leaving he told me that I should call him to come back and he would clean the blower motor for $200.Desired Settlement: I would like the payment of $49 refuned as the job was not completed as advertised.

Review: Purchased 5 [redacted] local vouchers. Made appointments for service at 4 different properties on two different dates. Both dates were a no show no call. I of course followed up since I paid in advance and had taken off of work twice. The first date they rescheduled and arrived late. They provided what I thought was complete service. But upon checking today (today is the 2nd date of no show no call) the work was not in fact completed satisfactorily ($571.00) with no surprise given their obvious lack of customer service. Upon calling them today they refused to tell me why they weren't coming and referred me to parent company they sub-contract for ([redacted]) and then hung up on me. That persons name is [redacted]. The parent company is now having another company come on another day because I refused to have Mountain Air provide service and now I have to take yet another day off of work. Not only do I feel the work they did do was unsatisfactory but fear what damage they might have done to my system given the lack of professionalism. I am having a heating and air conditioning company come out to check the system and repeat the work at my cost. They estimate $500 for inspection and service.Desired Settlement: Refund of the $571 and $500 for another company to come out and inspect and repeat service, and $500 for days missed of work totaling $1571.00

Response:

Ok, I understand that I cannot be compensated for any "concequences." That being said, please ammend my complaint to only relfect the dollar amount I am out because of thier substandard performance in the amount of $571.00 and I thank you in advance for your assistance.

Review: I contacted Mountain Air based on a coupon on 59 dollars to clean all of my air ducts, 3 rooms of carpet and a dryer vent. Upon entering my house "[redacted]" began to open my vents while his assistant began cleaning the downstairs ducts. I told [redacted] I had three returns - he said he would check them all. While opening the downstairs return he told me in a fake voice of fear "you have fungus". He then went on to tell me that they would have to do a myriad of things and long story short he would give it to me for an additional 139 dollars. I told him no thank you, I will do basic maintenance on the home as I am renting it, and I will forward his findings in writing to the landlord and he can get his people to clean it if he believes it needs to be. I told him I wanted to do what was on the coupon only. He then told me he would not clean the returns then because it was not going to make a difference. I then told him he needed to pack his items and leave and I would not pay him any money and I wanted to speak with his supervisor. He tried to upsell me again, and again I told him to leave. He said he was calling his supervisor and ten minutes later he came back and said "they told me to tell you you were warned about it". He then set about telling his assistant to clean the carpets. After they left, I noticed our home had a weird smell. I also noticed that the carpets looked like they had "dirty" water steamed into the carpets. My home wasn't that dirty. Today, after they are dried, our home smells like sludge. The carpets look terrible and a small stain we had on the carpet looks ever darker and nastier than before. When walking through the bedroom, I noticed an air return was not cleaned. I paid 262.60 for the service after add ons like scotch guard etc and I feel I did not receive proper service. I have to have another company come out to repair the carpets that this company dirtied and ruined.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back - if not all, but partial. At least for the carpet cleaning. They added just about 200 dollars for larger room, scotch guard and stairs. I will have to pay that much at least to another company to have it recleaned. I will not use this company again. I also would like this company to be reminded that using fear to add revenue to the order is uncalled for.

Review: This company did the duct air cleaning at my house. They charged me for pull down air registers to install. After they already processed my credit card payment they proceeded to tell me they were out of the pull down registers and ordered them or me and would install within a week. That was on 3/23/13, it is now 5/25/13 and they have not called to schedule a time to deliver or install. I have called several times to see if vents arrived and to schedule date to install. The female who answers the phone always reports she will let someone know and they will call me back. I have also left several voicemails with technicians name, date of service, my contact numbers. They have already taken payment for the product and service I did not receive. I let this company know if I did not hear from them I would file complaint for taking my money without providing product or service.Desired Settlement: I want delivery of service and refund. I want the product installed and refund for the inappropriate actions of this company and unethical practices.

I am rejecting this response because:

They did not have my information to discuss problem. [redacted], apparent supervisor yelled, made deframatory remarks. Nothing was solved. Only agreement was work had not been done. I asked for a person and number above [redacted] he refused to provide. I found out information for headquarters myself and sent email. As of this date I have paid for product not received and products that were faulty. No longer trust this company want refund or both.

Review: I am submitting a complaint to you regarding the company Mountain Air Duct Services (I am truthfully not even certain that this is a valid company based on the horrific impression they are leaving me with).

On 04/18/2014 I had purchased a voucher in the amount of 39.00$ through [redacted]. This voucher was for a whole house air duct cleaning for unlimited vents, cleaning of one return vent and one dryer vent system from the company Mountain Air Duct Services. Our original appointment was made in the beginning of May for May 27th 2014. On May 27th 2014 after our scheduled appointment time had passed my fiancé received a voicemail from a manager named [redacted] at Mountain Air Duct Services stating our appointment has to be cancelled because the technician who was supposed to do the cleaning was ill and had called out of work. This was extremely frustrating because of the fact I had already taken the day off from work to be available for these services but also because there is apparently only one technician. It seemed a little peculiar to me that a company would only have ONE technician available. Never the less my fiancé returned [redacted]’s phone call to reschedule our appointment and she advised we would now need to wait another three weeks for someone to be available. When my fiancé voiced his dissatisfaction with the fact that we now will have to wait an additional two weeks due to their error [redacted] couldn’t have cared less. There was no empathy shown and no apology made. My fiancé informed [redacted] this is unacceptable. Not only do I have terrible allergies, but a leading cause of house fires are due to blocked dryer vents. Luckily it is also only the beginning of the summer because we have not been able to turn on our air conditioning. [redacted] was not willing to schedule a sooner appointment so at that point my fiancé asked for a manager. [redacted] informed him she was a manager, so he then asked for the owner. She claimed the owner is in and out of the office but she would leave a message for him to contact us back. His name supposedly is [redacted]. My fiancé took the appointment for 06/12 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am due to the fact we have already paid for these services and it is something we need to have done but he did relay his dissatisfaction to [redacted] and he did advise he would be voicing that to [redacted] when he returned his call. It is no surprise that [redacted] never returned his phone call. As I’m sure this will come as no surprise to you at 8:45 this morning I was still waiting for a technician to arrive at my house. I tried numerous times to contact the number [redacted] had used to contact us with the original cancellation (###-###-####) and there was no answer. Finally at 9:00am I received a phone call where the women stated “Um I am returning the tons of phone calls showing on our caller ID from this morning”. As I’m sure you can assume this was [redacted], she had a terrible attitude and was extremely argumentative. She stated that an appointment was never made and that she had never spoken to my fiancé or myself. (Obviously phone records would prove otherwise). I advised I was extremely dissatisfied with the service that this company has provided and I would like to speak to a manager. Once again [redacted] stated that she was the manager and the owner [redacted] is in and out of the office but she will give him the message I called. I then requested a refund and [redacted] said she would need my debt card to do so. I obviously would not give her this information so I stated I would like her to send in the mail. Her response was “sure” and she hung up the phone. My fiancé then attempted to call the number ###-###-#### and immediately asked for [redacted] stated “I know exactly who you are and you won’t be speaking with NO ONE” (yes, with horrible grammar) and hung up the phone. After this I have had enough, both my fiancé and I have tried to call the number above and our phone numbers have now been blocked. I know this because I can call from my work phone and friends have contacted from their cell phones just fine. I have tried to contact their corporate office where no one will provide me with a name of the owner of their CT office and every individual tells me the office is located in a different town. I have been told [redacted], and [redacted] but yet NONE show an address online. I have been promised return phone calls but little to no surprise have not received one. I work for a Fortune 100 company and hold the position of a Customer Service Operations Expert. I am well educated and extremely successful so needless to say I know a thing or two about GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. My employees would never be allowed to speak to customers in this manner. I have to be honest with you [redacted] wouldn’t last a day at my company treating customers the way she has treated us. My issue is not being refunded although that is also understandable; at this point it is principle. This is not how a business’s should be run and I am appalled at the service we have received. I am looking to be contacted immediately from an intelligent individual who can provide some time of explanation for what is going on and to be compensated for this inconvenience.

Sincerely,

Review: Original request via a [redacted] to have ducts cleaned for $100. The work appears to have been subcontracted to Mountain Air Duct Services and/or [redacted]). When the duct cleaners arrived, they refused to clean the ducts until: 1) signed a form where the signature line of "work performed is acceptable" (should be signed AFTER work is done), 2) that I pay $500 to have two HVAC blowers cleaned due to mold upon their opinion. My home was professionally inspected prior to the duct cleaners, no mold was found (I have the inspection report if needed).

Although they vacuumed floor vents, they used silver spray paint to cover the filth that remained giving the impression that everything was clean. Silver spray paint covers the entire inside of the two HVAC units and floor ductwork on top of the filth they didn't clean. At my expense, the filth (along with the spray paint) will need to be scraped and scrubbed off. It was observed by two of my family members present that no chemicals were used to treat any mold - only a wet/dry vac was used. That we had to sign the "statement of work complete" prior to the duct cleaners working, refusing to do the work orignally paid for, lying about the actual condition of the ductwork and leading us to believe we had a severe mold problem requiring mold remediation for $500 cash is my complaint.

I contacted "[redacted]", one of the duct cleaners, about our complaints and said I did not trust him to do the work compentently to my satisfaction and that I would not do business with him or this company who subcontracted him.Desired Settlement: Full refund from Mountain Air Duct Services ($500).
