Move Central Moving & Storage

Move Central is horrible! Do not use this company. We chose them as they came highly recommended, but our experience was beyond terrible.
We moved from CA to ID. The estimator came to the house and did his job, seemed like a nice enough young guy. I spoke with the main office afterwards and placed a deposit to secure the date.
The day before the move, the packers came out and did their work. Again, things seemed to be going smoothly. However, some of the furniture was not packed that day. The following day, the movers arrived and finished packing the furniture.
With most moves, an inventory is done. We did not get an inventory from the packers. The boxes didn’t have stickers or anything indicating what was in the boxes.
When the moving crew arrived, the supervisor had to leave due to a family emergency. There was nobody sent to replace him. One of the movers was selected to be the supervisor, so in essence there was no supervision.
The first thing that was said by lead was that the job was underestimated and that we would be charged for an additional truck, $3300 per truck, we had two there. By the way, one was a rental tuck as the Move Central truck had broken down, reassuring….
They managed to put our things into the two trucks and left. After leaving, they left a large amount of trash, unused boxes and other packing materials in the driveway. I ended up having to clean up the mess. It was also raining, so that made the job that much more fun.
Unbeknownst to us, the movers had damaged the water valves the washer had been attached to. That damage was found several days later when we had an inspection done on the house as part of the sale. Move Central refused to acknowledge they caused the damage, although no other people had moved the washer prior and it was working and not leaking. Additionally, one of the movers had stuffed a towel around the valves to either hide the leak they had caused or soak up the water. We paid for that repair later, and again, Move Central would not pay for the damage caused by their employee(s).
Two days later, the movers pulled into the driveway at our new home. The first thing I saw when the door was opened on the truck was my bandsaw leaning over into our refrigerator. Both were damaged extensively. The fridge was about three-year-old and did not have one scratch on it. Now, three out of the four doors had dents and dings all over them, and the sides as well. No moving blankets had been used at all on the fridge or a lot of the other furniture.
The same “lead” apologized and said he would take full responsibility. Well, to this day nobody at Move Central has taken responsibility for any of the damage done to our things or the damage at our previous home.
We had a two-month-old washer and dryer. Those items came off the truck looking as though they had been through a war. They were scratched and dented and had not been wrapped in anything other than plastic wrap. No moving blankets.
Several calls were made to the corporate office that day. The day ended with the crew refusing to put together the dining room table, which they had disassembled. Another call to the office and they were told to go buy hardware if they needed to. The lead’s excuse for not putting the table together? “We don’t know where the hardware is.” Remember, no inventory was done.
We found several pieces of furniture, which I made, had been damaged. There was a cut in an oil painting, $3500, the list just went on. Easily, over 100 items were damaged. A brand new $1000 rolling tool box was all dented and scratched up.
I hope nobody uses this company ever again and they go the way of the Dodo.

The very best movers as usual, our family and friends are frequently using this Move Central for our moves. Me personally, I used this company for the second time and they are brilliant!! I moved from a three bedroom house to a new one. The office workers were very explicit and offered me patiently answers to all the questions. The provided quote was very affordable and the estimate was very close to the actual amount of work done. The crew arrived exactly in the expected time, and got to work right away. They wrapped everything really well and treated our belongings with a lot of care, everything arrived in the exact same condition they left the house!! They were moving fast and efficient but yet very careful close to walls and everything that can be damaged. I am very thankful to this company and I really think that the money they ask for the amount of work, attention and dedication they offer is just perfect!!! Highly recommend Move Central!!!

rip offs. moved an arcade off a pick up truck onto my concrete drive and the original quote was 110.00 because they had movers at another job in my area. 10 minutes of work. and after they unloaded the arcade machine they tried to tell me after that they had a 3 hour minimum 300.00 minimum plus 50.00 for gas. they did not inform me at the original call that there was a minimum---it was a flat 110.00 quote. they record you and turn your answers around to their benefit. I never would have agreed to to 380.00 for a 10 minute job. Victor gives you the run around because of his mistakes. I am a woman and I feel that they took advantage of me. I would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE.

Excellent moving company! Very, very affordable as well. The crew was super friendly and efficient. Moving is always stressful but this guys made it simple and smooth. Thank you Move Central for helping me!!!

Amazing experience, this guys are professionals!!
I contracted this company for a relatively small size move, one bedroom apartment but still this would be a hard to finish project without such a well prepared moving crew. They arrived on time and did everything in a very fast pace without any unnecessary breaks. I received everything in the new place in the same condition as was before the move, not a single scratch!!! In addition they have really good prices for the amount of professionalism and service you get from the crew. Definitely recommend this company. Well done Move Central.

This is an amazing moving company.
I had a fear that moving a four bedroom house will be a nightmare but it was mych more easier then I expected. All the moving process was very easy ( for me and my family ). Move Central offered me a very concise and precise communication from the very first call, the sales person explained everything in details and offered me a very fare quote. The crew arrived on time and did a great job, they got to work right away and were very polite and courteous throughout the whole process. This was the right decision to hire Move Central for this job and this is what I recommend to each and everyone who is looking for moving services.

I priced out several movers and Move-Central was the priciest but their reviews were impeccable. I failed to do adequate research and have learned so much about them since my move was completed.

On paper I was supposed to have 4 packers one day. The following day was a simple load, drive, and unload day with 4 people. Only 1 person returned the following day from the original crew. The job estimate was supposed to be between $2K-$2500 TOTAL. I allotted an extra $500 just in case for a max budget of $3,000. I wound up spending close to $6K after completion, which wasn’t actually completed.

The packers on day 1 apparently didn’t complete the packing job because the movers wound up packing and wrapping furniture for about 9 hours. This was at an inflated rate ($190/hr on packing day & $230/hr on moving day). There was supposed to be 2 x 26 foot trucks for moving day but one was a shorter 16 footer. Needless to say, not all my items were moved nor was my wife’s furniture moved on a second pickup point because there was no room. What was estimated as a 4.5-6 hour moving day turned into 14.5 hours.

I obviously complained and after some back and forth they counter-offered me compensation of $1,207 in exchange for counting the dispute as resolved. They took off the charge for additional packing materials I was told by the packing crew I wouldn’t be charged for and reduced the $230/hr rate to $190/hr for the hours spent packing. I asked for $1,607 based on the fact I had to schedule a rental truck that took me 4-5 hours of my own time and some helping friends to get my wife’s items. They rejected my $1,607 and I told them that I was going to consult a lawyer because I don’t know what my options are. They have since rescinded their offer and will only do the bear minimum in complaisance with the law, which I believe is $.60 cents/lb for any damaged/lost items.

I am simply trying to protect myself here and grossly unhappy with the service received and how they are handling this as I don’t feel I am being unreasonable. The crew drank half a case of my apple juice and I bought both crews lunch and offered them plenty of water throughout both days. Some workers were more on the slacking side and I don’t want to take away from the harder working one that were great. There was also a couple of really young kids, one was 17 I was told, and were inexperienced. That led to some damage to my new home and some poor packing methods as well. I will never use this company again and I will encourage people to stay way. I get that things happen and as a disabled veteran who has moved around A LOT when I was active duty I know how these things can go. This is not a great experience and it saddens me that estimates grow so quickly. My wife and I are very unhappy but have a feeling we may spend more money just to get this dispute settled and resolved.

There are some other problems we had but for the sake of my sanity I have highlighted my major issues with them above. I hope this helps future movers be more informed than I was when researching this company.

Move Central movers were wonderful. Me and my family had a great experience. No hidden costs. Will use again.

I started to price out movers and reached out to Move Central. But they keep texting and calling me daily and relentless. I told them to remove my number and they still texted and called me. Needless to say I won't be going with Move Central.

We do not recommend using this company for storage. We did receive some compensation for damage though, hence the 3 stars.

We used this company for 2 moves. The first move was from our old home to storage to our new home. This move was a disaster. We also used the company for packing and then for about 5 months of storage. There were many damaged items, including our king mattress. We suspect the mattress was stored vertically as it was severely lumpy, slanted to one side, with the coils inside being shifted to one end. We had to purchase a new mattress. We also discovered while replacing the mattress that the bed frame was not put together, missing all the screws and the support blocks. The move from storage to our new home used 3 movers and felt rushed so we were not able to catch this mistake during the move in. Other broken items included: our daughters Pottery Barn toy kitchen, 9 plastic bins, and 6 glass or ceramic bowls/platters, 2 of which were custom made for us on our honeymoon.

The second move was from our apartment to our new home. This move was a positive experience, hence the 2 stars (instead of 1.) The lead mover was Frank. They moved our 2 bedroom furniture to our new home in about 3 hours. No problems at all with this move.

We put in a claim to the company for reimbursement. We asked for approximately $900. We actually felt that this amount was modest. The worth of the damaged items far exceeded this number. The company originally offered the minimum of 60 cents per pound ($135) but then agreed to a higher amount after discussion ($400.)

We appreciate the company’s willingness to compensate at a higher amount. We would consider using the company again for a single day move, but would look elsewhere for storage options.

This is the WORST experience of my life!!! DO NOT hire especially if you're a woman....Victor, Frank, Dan, Igor, and many others gave me the run around because of mistakes on THEIR part. Now, Victor won't STOP reaching out to tell me what? Sorry...All I needed was a REFUND, that's it! TERRIBLE, they don't even deserve one star.

Worth every penny! It was impressive watching them haul heavy, boxy items! At the new house, they brought everything to the designated rooms, including multiple trips to the basement. They hustled!!

Top notch movers. Great communication from owner and movers on day of moving. Took great care of our stuff. Very polite and professional. Absolutely recommend.

These guys were excellent. Showed up on time. Worked hard. Very professional. I wish they were placed where I'm moving. I would use them to unload! I would recommend them to anyone.

These guys are awesome. They were fast, efficient and very considerate of our belongings. They had a very cool and calm energy about them as if they were totally present with what they were doing. Nothing else mattered but the task at hand. Thank you guys! Wishing you all the success!

Outstanding service; these guys did an amazing amount of work in just a few hours, and there was no damage to the contents or the walls or either home. A pleasure to work with; if I ever move again, they'll be my first call!
