I am still unsatisfied with the services I have received I keep having the same conversations everyday with the business I have been making the best attempt to provide the business with any information that they request (new owners at previous address real estate agent and contractor) I had a bar that I gave the employees and stated that the item would be last on the truck as long as the other contents were loaded I did not want to pay extra money ($170/hr) for the movers to drive about minutes one way to pick up the additional items when I was assured everything would fit in the truck based on my conversation with the employee when booking the business The new owners of my previous address are requesting the floor to be replaced due to the damage that was occurred by the business I have contacted a contractor and was quoted $in labor This does not include materials that need to be purchased for the floor to be fixed I will also have to purchase brand new remotes The sports cards and sports memorabilia is still missing and gone for good

[ am not satisfied with the business response Based off of the prior reply, A foot box truck was provided The business offered to take standing lamps in the truck, but could not guarantee the safety of transport I declined the offer to transport the lamps However, there were other items that could have been moved that were not taken Some of the items could have been loaded and did not require a box or would not fit in a box Some of the items could not be loaded due to the fact they were not in boxes The move did take hours However, I had to drive back to the original address times and fill up cars with contents due to the items being left These items could possibly have fit on the truck if the bar was not loaded on it first The bar was only supposed to be loaded if all contents were loaded first The company did offer $ However, I countered the offer and have not heard a reply of my counter I countered the businesses offer with $and for the business to be 100% responsible for fixing and paying for the floor that was damaged at the original address Trained and responsible movers should know how to properly lift heavy objects on floors to not allow damage to the floor I believe my counter offer is fair for the issues stated in this complaint

First, we are sorry Mr [redacted] is not satisfied with our servicesWe have tried to be as fair as possible considering his claimsHowever, there are several discrepancies in Mr [redacted] s claimFor one, the truck we sent was a 26' box truck (the largest box truck under a semi trailer offered by all moving companies)There was still space on the truck when he told his crew to head to the unloadThe items that were left behind were all loose items that needed to be packed into boxesHis crew offered to pack the items into to boxes and he declined stating that he can just grab the items laterHis crew did not leave the origin address with out doing a final walk through to ensure everything that Mr [redacted] wanted moved was in fact movedSecondly, attached you will find Mr [redacted] s estimate that was sent to him via email on April 5thYou can see that we estimated his move to take 6-8hrsHis final bill is also attached which shows we completed the move in 6.25hrsHis claim of the move taking longer because the truck was too small is false.Third, Mr [redacted] agreed to cents per pound reimbursement for damaged or lost items which you will see on our bill of lading that is attachedHe agreed that we are not responsible for his floors which is also on our bill of lading that Mr [redacted] signed and initialedThe true value of his claim is $for minor damage to the base of his china cabinet that can be repairedWe believe in taking care of our customers so we went above his actual claim amount and offered him $ We have footage of his crew arriving back to our office and cleaning out our truckNothing matching the description of his "bins of missing baseball cards" were seen being unloaded from the truckWe are confident that our employees would not steal anything from anyoneWe conduct background check on all of our moversMr [redacted] had one of our most experienced movers on his crewA guy that has been with our company for yearsWe told Mr [redacted] that if he truly believes that we stole his cards that he needs to make a police reportWe will hand the footage over to themOur movers will also take a lie detector test

Absolutely fantastic moving experience! My original move date was delayed because my family became ill, and Moving Ahead Services, LLC managed to schedule us on very short notice and handled all our items with care and efficiency. I definitely recommend them to anyone moving; I wish they'd moved me previously!!

What a fantastic company to do business with While many companies will do what they say they will, Moving Ahead Services exceeds expectations! Dealing with them was an absolute pleasure from start to finish They were on top of every aspect of my move and were willing to deal with several unexpected and last minute changes that had to be made to the plan They also make available a wide array of additional products that can make your move easier They arrived on time and were professional, thorough and careful with the items being moved--this shows a commitment to providing excellent customer service from the CEO to the great guys doing the actual moving They were really wonderful to deal with and I'd like to recommend them to everyone looking to schedule a move of any kind

I have been using Moving Ahead Services for over years The very last time they moved me, I made a complaint that the movers had scraped the whole wall coming down the steps, and they said they would make up for it the next move Well...The next move came on 06/11/16, and I called to talk to Jeff the owner and said that we need to make sure the guys they send to move the furniture are strong enough to move the amish furniture I have This was also an issue the last time He promised me that wouldn't happen, but low and behold he sent me a new guy that couldn't lift I called to let them know that evening, but no one was there to handle the complaint A guy named Andrew called me from Moving Ahead Services, and he wanted to offer me a $gift card for my troubles I have been using their services for over ten years, but the last two moves they really didn't care how they treated my furniture The movers seem to just throw stuff around, and didn't handle my furniture with ca

The men from Moving Ahead arrived on time and performed the work we needed done effectively and efficiently Moreover, they were genuinely nice people who conducted themselves in a very professional manner We would definitely use this company again

After securing no less than seven estimates, I chose Moving Ahead Services for my downsizing move into a temporary apartment and storage unitI based my decision on what I felt to be a more transparent estimate, the sense that the many and varied factors of my two-step move were heard and understood, and the company's reputationI had many questions regarding best ways to economize on this first solo and non-company paid moveOther companies pressured, brushed off my more specific questions, and/or offered less valueMoving day could not have gone betterThe crew was hard-working, kind, careful, and competentI truly felt they were working for me and was pleasantly surprised to note a couple of the men running, despite the ridiculously humid heat (degrees), to help me beat the four hour time windowI recommend Moving Ahead Services without hesitation and hope my shared experience will ease the emotional and financial pressure for someone else approaching a similar life transitionI fully expect to use this company again as soon as I locate my next residence

THEY WERE AND DID EVERYTHING PROMISED FOR OUR BUSINESS MOVETHERE WERE MOVES A MONTH AND A HALF APART AND WERE VERY FLEXIBLE WITH THE 2ND DATE

I requested Moving Ahead Services to assist me in a move to my new residence Everything started off very well They were on time and worked hard Unfortunately, they brought too small of a truck and couldn't fit all of my contents This resulted in me returning to my old residence multiple times with my vehicle to load up more contents When I returned to the old residence I noticed that the floor was damaged when the washer/dryer was being removed
When they were unloading the contents from the move I noticed that my solid wood china hutch was damaged The employee would take pictures and report it When the move was done I was rushed to sign the final paperwork and make the final payment I was never offered to make sure nothing was left on the truck Once I unpacked all of the contents I came to realize that all of my electronic remotes were missing along with multiple storage totes stored with sports cards and memorabilia that had contents which were 20+ years old

I am very pleased with the services I received, the movers were prompt, professional, and friendly They took care of my belongings and were really efficient The team lead Scott was awesome he kept the pace steady and directed the other guys wellI have no complaints at all, they even stopped at another location to deliver a stove and took a dresser to Akron from ClevelandWell worth the money, especially to have a great experience I will definitely refer this company to others and if I need moving services in the future they will be my first call

Pre-move:
With excellent reviews on Angie’s List, I called what appeared to be a Cincinnati office of Moving Ahead Services moving company, and after speaking with them, agreed to book Sat June At that time, we reviewed the layout of the apartment we were moving from:
-Two floor 3-bedroom apt with one car garage Many boxes from July move
-Garage filled with items to be moved-Specialty items included upright piano, freezer, armoires
-The apt address, my email address and phone numberI made sure to spell our street and my email carefully-During the call, I also described the layout of the condo we were moving to: Two floor bedroom condo with basement and two car garageTo benchmark our June move, I described the move into our apt, including the number of men and trips takenBased on this information, the company representative suggested and I agreed that two trucks would be best for our moveI understood their would be a mileage chargeBecause Moving Ahead has a Cincinnati phone number, it appeared there is a Cincinnati office and would be sending Cincinnati drivers, and I was not told otherwiseI was told to expect the movers to arrive at 9:00am June I heard nothing further from them, so I called and spoke with the Moving Ahead Services Cincinnati the week prior to confirm our moveThey confirmed our move as per our original phone conversationTheir arrival:
The movers called at 9:20am to say they had one truck, three (not four) movers, and had just left ColumbusThey expected to arrive in Cincinnati around 10:30amAt about 10:40am, I called the movers, who said they were on their way to northern Kentucky to a street with a similar name as oursWe gave them the corrected address and they turned back to locate our Ohio addressThey arrived two and a half hours late at 11:30amThey parked squarely in front of the driveways of two of our neighbors, and didn’t seem to understand that would cause a problemThey actually did this for two of their three tripsIt took the driver multiple back and forth maneuvering to get the truck in front of our aptThis was not a problem for the company we used in 2016, nor other companies our neighbors have usedThe lead mover presented us the company liability options, which were not discussed during either phone callThey showed us the paperwork they received that listed both our misspelled street and email addressesMove:
-They were instructed to wrap our white upholstered furniture to keep it clean, and not to carry out sofa or chair cushions unwrappedOne man started to carry a white upholstered chair out, and we saw he had created brown marks on it in the processIt will have to be professionally cleaned and hope the stains will come out-They had enough wrap for only some of the upholstered furnitureWe happened to have extra large garbage bags, and used them for some of the pillows and cushionsIf we hadn’t provided these bags, our cushions would have been placed uncovered into the truckOther upholstery did go into the truck without any protective coveringThey did not have any wrap products for our mattresses or box springs, so they went into the dirty truck and came out dirtyIn a post-move phone call with the company, they said mattress covers are an extra chargeWe were never offered this option, which we would have takenConclusions:
-We were told by phone to expect the final amount to be around $Instead, it was $+ $insurance on damageAlso, while we understood their would be a mileage charge, the $mileage to/from Columbus instead of Cincinnati was a surprise-The men need coaching on professional behavior They left their trash lying around throughout the day which we had to pick upThey asked us what we did for a living, and commented on how much we ownedWe observed one man’s preference for carrying a single small light-weigh items, and doing so slowlyOne man spent a tremendous amount of time on his cell phone throughout the entire jobWe provided Gatorade and bottled waterI don’t know what they’d have done without itThey seemed to not want to move large items to the basement, saying they wouldn’t fitBased on previous owner’s furniture, we knew our furniture would fitThe apt driveway has a small patch of blacktop that remains gooeyWe put white powder on it as a visual reminder, and asked them to avoid stepping in itThey repeatedly walked through it(What a contrast to our cable installer, who wore bootie covers to keep our floor clean.) One man told us this his first ever move jobIf it wasn’t bad enough that we were understaffed, we also had an inexperienced team-Moving Ahead misrepresented the presence of a Cincinnati office and moving teamAt no time was I told it is a Columbus-only office and that drivers would coming from that area-As the evening grew late, we felt we had to step and move items ourselvesEven with our help, the job ended at 1:15.AM This is unacceptableWe are now going to have to hire another local company to move several large items, because the movers were exhausted and couldn’t be counted on to move items upstairs or to the basementIn summary: It was an unprofessional move from a very late 11:30AM start to ridiculously late 1:15AM finish---We feel Moving Ahead misrepresented their company, the service they would provide us, and the chargesMoving Ahead staff were not professionalI called Moving Ahead 6-5-to lodge our complaints, was assured I would hear back from them After posting negative reviews online, they contacted me 6-12-and offered minimal corrections, including $refund for the second truck, for which we were erroneously charged

Business is not returning calls
Lead mover told me I did not have to purchase additional insurance
Lead mover was aware of damage to furnitureNumerous custom frames were damaged beyond repair
Several wood door frames had to be replaced due to gouges by movers and others door frames were repainted from nicks caused by movers

The movers arrived on time, despite the storm that was taking place that dayThey were quick and efficient and were very careful not to hit the walls or leave any damageI had only paid for hours because that was a specialThey made sure I stayed within that time restrictionOne item was left in the truck by mistakeThey quickly returned once I calledBoth men were friendly and professionalI would recommend this company to all family and friendsMy stressful day went smoothly and you can't put a price on that

Their services were clearly unsatisfactoryCons:
Packed many boxes with no cushioning and damaged multiple items
Used unusual packing practices like using our own throw blanket to tape over and cushion mirror
Damaged several items temporarily-stored in their warehouse
Exhibited lack of customer service at times (see below)
Pros:
Good estimate process
Friendly staff
Packed kitchen items well
Delivered items on time and in courteous manner
Most troubling was that they focused more on not exceeding projected truck space than completing our move We were consistently clear that they were to move ALL items and we could not stay after to attend to anything left behind When they went to leave, we were exhausted and didn’t notice that they had not removed all items And, we didn’t think it was our responsibility to check their work since we were consistently clear about them moving all items The moving team left to add items we paid them to temporarily store at their facility Then, they would not commit to returning to pick up the remaining items at our house until they knew that they would have space in the truck! We had to delay leaving for our new out-of-state home until they finally committed to return...inexcusably bad customer serviceWe certainly would not contract for their services again and cannot recommend Moving Ahead Services
