This is Shannon from The Motley
Fool People Team again to assist you.  I’ve
taken your complaint about the error messages when unsubscribing to our Web Operations
team.  After our last attempt to fix the
problem with unsubscribing, we’ve learned that the previous fix only corrected
a small subset of errors.  Our Web Operations
team has now made this a priority to fix these errors in its entirety.  We appreciate your input and are working to
make unsubscribing a simple and straight forward action for all users.
As far as our marketing goes,
there is a constant debate internally about what we are doing every day and
many Fools are not crazy about our marketing tactics.  Our mission is to help the world invest –
better.  We’re passionate about that, and
so we’re working very hard to encourage as many people as possible to explore
our newsletters.  Despite many people
knowing they should do something to help themselves prepare for their financial
futures, few actually do it.  We’ve found
that some of these marketing messages work in getting people to hit “yes” much
better than an understated email that just says “here are our results and our
philosophy – let us know if you’re interested,” unfortunately.  We’re testing and learning new methods to
ensure our marketing is aligned with who we are as a company, but as the
internal debate continues, this process is slow moving in finding resolution.  I promise this is something that as a company
we will continue to work towards improvement.
