NAC Auto Body & Collision Reviews (22)

I was involved in an accident when another driver failed to properly yield at a stop sign, and made a faulty left hand turn right into my path on main street that is always busy while I was driving 35mph, and was able to brake a few seconds before impact which means I hit on impact going approximately 30mph. The majority of damage was to my 9-month old car, and to myself since my airbag deployed, and I was the one who took the full force of the impact of the collision. The collision caused front-end and side damage to my vehicle. This was the first serious accident I had ever been involved in. I was in a complete state of shock and was completely upset and was in instant pain from my accident. I filed my claim with my insurance company within an hour of my accident. After speaking with my claims adjuster two hours after my accident I was very upset, distraught, confused, and panicked at times not knowing what to do. My insurance had informed me I did not have rental car coverage, and kept telling me once they found out the other driver's insurance information I could file a claim for a rental car against his insurance if they accepted fault but that didn't mean it would happen. I was completely distraught because the accident was his fault and he was cited for his violation. Soon after my car with my claims adjuster I received a call from a woman named Debbie who said she worked with my insurance company with a shop named National Automobile Club which is a reliable name and in my state of confusion I knew my employer used National Automobile Club for roadside assistance so I assumed it was the same company. This Debbie woman stated that she had a car that I could use until the insurance gave me a rental car and even if they didn't sort that out it would be okay. She acted like she cared about me and was being much kinder than my insurance company had been to me. She was completely playing into my psychological state at the time. I had no idea the process of collision repair and they knew it. Debbie knew so much information about me I thought she had to know my insurance agency, or how else did she have my phone number and know all about my car and know I was the victim and show me so much kindness. Little did I know NAC Body and Collision is a predatory shop that preyed on victims such as myself that knew little about collision repair, but had good insurance that was going to pay for large claims. My insurance wrote a claim estimate for about $9,700 or $9,200 minus my $500 collision deducible, and wrote for mostly OEM parts. NAC Body & Collision has their customers write what they claim is an authorization for repair which is how I understood and what I read. They later added to the authorization wording that allowed them to put whatever parts they saw fit on my car without my consent or my insurance consent. When my car was returned to me it started to become very apparent to me that nothing fit right on my car or looked right. The owner of NAC made every excuse and had a story for everything since he's a career criminal. A list of his offenses are viewable to public in Hamilton, Ohio on their municipal court website. When I confront the owner that I knew he used cheap aftermarket parts on my nine-month old vehicle, at first he continued to deny and blame my insurance company until he bought out a paper that he had handwriting all over which meant he wrote on the authorization after it was originally and legally signed which is illegal to write on legal documents after they have been signed. He finally admitted to putting all aftermarket parts on my vehicle and pocketing what the insurance company had paid him for OEM parts and for high grade NON-OEM parts. Of course, he bought low end aftermarket, so he could make a profit off the $9,200 my insurance company paid him. He admitted to me and in front of a witness that he has done the same thing to every customer that has ever stepped foot in his door and said that’s why he moved his business to Columbus, because according to him it’s even easier to scam individuals in central Ohio than in other areas in Ohio. He committed insurance fraud, and he excuses his behavior, because he thinks he's getting one over on Big Corp. America insurance. White collar crime is not a victim less crime, and I am the victim that he preyed on after I already was the victim in a traumatizing car accident. He continued my pain and suffering from my accident, because I work hard for the things I pay for, unlike the scamming owners and employees of NAC, which include my brand new car (which was my first brand new car), and my insurance company wanted my car fixed which meant to its pre-accident state not the state he put it in. I do not want someone else to go through what I've had to deal with for months. There have been similar complaints as mine on Revdex.com,” and to the Ohio Attorney General. I unfortunately saw those complaints too late, because there are positive reviews online about the business written by naive “victims” and friends and family members of NAC Auto Body & Collision. If I didn't have an eye for detail which honestly it wasn't difficult to see the [redacted] poor quality of their work at all. And if the owner of NAC hadn't become so defensive, unprofessional, childish, piggish, try to intimidate me, and look like a common low-grade drug addict I wouldn't have started asking more and more questions, and looking more and more into their work, and they just may have gotten away with what they did. A reliable, genuine, honest, and truly trained collision repair shop would never have returned a vehicle in the state they did, committed insurance fraud, or conducted themselves in the manner they did. Because of the distress they caused me I actually returned my vehicle, and had to pay higher for a newer safer car, because I did not and could not trust the quality of NAC Auto Body & Collision repair work or the parts they used since they were not the parts they were supposed to be used, because they had the highest or higher safety standards. Not knowing where my parts came from caused me a lot of distress since I had already been in a collision, and safety features on my car had saved me from more serious injury. It also caused me great distress because the vehicle I had owned prior to the new one in the accident had serious safety flaws that kills and injured many drivers which is one of the big reasons I upgraded to a newer, safer, more reliable car. NAC Auto Body Collision took all that peace of mind away from me, so that they could pocket a few thousand dollars. Insurance fraud hurts the customer in more than one way. I ended up losing thousands on having to buy a new car, and having a higher car payment. I am fortunate that I am able to do that, but I should have never been put in this situation. Do your homework into businesses, ask your dealership for certified, reputable body and collision body shops for your car make, and visit those shops. Look for their certifications, the cleanliness of the shop, employees, make surprise visits, and professionalism and intelligence of the owners and employees. Trust your intuition. I knew something was wrong when I took one look at the co-owner and the loaner car they gave me when he arrived at my house, but I thought I was being judgemental. No, trust your judgement! Also, don't do business with any business offering you a loaner car or to "save your deductible." When I visited the certified body shop recommended by my dealership I was blown away by how professional and clean the facility looked compared to NAC which looks like your uncle's junkyard behind his house. The employees were also clean and professional. The owner took his time with me and answered my questioned like where they ordered their parts from. He also taught me if someone offers you something free, you tell them you can't afford it. And never ever do business with a business that calls you after an accident, because it just means they bought the accident report. The biggest mistake I made was answering my phone when NAC called me. I normally never ever answer unknown calls. I never will again. I now have rental car insurance, so I will never fall prey to shop like NAC again, because I never cared about saving $500 especially since I wasn't the at-fault driver, and it would be reimburse to me at a later date. I cared about having a car to get to work (where I actually help people and not victimize them), and they preyed on my valuable state.

I am rejecting this response because: they have addressed the issue with the paint but have not said about the exhaust. Before I agree to the settlement I need to know what they are willing to do about the exhaust since it was not completed as they stated and is getting louder. That is the big part of the issue since the car being with a damaged exhaust is not pre - accident.  If you need the pics to show them I have included them as well.
