I am rejecting this response because: They fixed only a small portion of the damage they caused and did
not replace buckled shinglesThey took money off the bill and sent the same crew to try to fix the damage they caused and he argued about fixing the damageSupervisor was a smart as about how to resolve the issuesHis comment, "What do you want? A dollar?"
Regards,

Dear Revdex.comHere are the facts. We were contracted to replace the missing and damaged tile on the facade of the house - on August **, We did the work on September *, We replaced the rotted wood and pieces of missing and damaged tileI have photos to show the repairsThe roof is very old - and must be maintained we would not guarantee it because we did not install a new roofThe price was + tax.We also told *** ***(the ***) on that day that she needed a new flat roofWe gave her a proposal on Sept *, 2014, for $5,and she would have a guarantee (we have copies of the proposal)When we were called back because of a leak - *** went over and tried to explain that the leak is coming from the flat roof (we have photos of the flat roof also)I know that *** *** keeps saying that *** was rude - However, I heard him on the phone with her and he couldn't get a word kept trying to tell her that it was the flat roof that was leaking and she just didn't want to hea r itHe also dropped the price to give her a new roof down to 3,She insists that we are responsible for her entire slate roof-which we're nis very old and has to be regularly repaired or totally replaced in order to guarantee itHowever, I will send a crew at a no charge to go over the entire slate roof and replace any further missing & damaged tilhas been a brutal winterI honestly don't know what else to say about thisThank you, *** ***

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me

Our General Manager met with the customer at his home and
together they inspected the workIt was agreed that we would return to do some
minor gutter adjustments which will resolve the issues at handAll other
issues it was mutually agreed that work performed was at a fair price
and
complete

We met with the customer, together inspected the work, and pointed out to her in our professional opinion how the job was done correctly and how it is not related in any way to the new gutters we installedWe did agree to send a service tech out on last time to try and caulk her old awning, on a
dry day with no precipitation, so the caulk can sand cure properly, to stop the leaking from the old awning onto her porch

Please add these pictures to the complaint against Able Roofing, MrRoof Contractors Inc. Also there has been been more damange on the ceiling in the living room on 3-01-2017. *** ***The damage is in a different area of living roomNot the best pictures but it clearly shows damange from the roof

I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find the resolution is satisfactory to me Ms*** has arranged for an electrician to come fix the problem next Friday October 13thI told her that once the problem was fixed I would be happy to inform Revdex.com of thisIncidentally, I do not believe I "overstepped myself" Had the project manager gotten back to me as promised on multiple occassions I would not have had tp contact MsCox and subsequently the Revdex.com I also, immediately corrected the email address and resent to MsC**

This Revdex.com complaint was the first
time MrRoof was made aware of any concernsImmediately upon being made aware
of the homeowners concerns MrRoof reached out to resolve any issues

We value every customer and
customer service is very important to usNot only do we strive for excellent
customer service, but we keep specific records for everything we do
We believe that there is some
miscommunication here & we are thankful that the customer has made contact
with
the Revdex.com as we have had some trouble getting in contact with the customer
& would like to resolve this matter as quickly as possibleOur timeline on
this situation is as follows:
On 11/03/we
received a call from Mr*** stating that he had a leak in his closet that
had apparently been leaking since the roof was installed; a Repair Tecwas scheduled
for the next available date of 11/05/Our records indicate that this was
the first report of a leak at this property since installation on 02/01/
The customer reported that he had not been in this closet since the roof was
installed nearly years agoIt is undocumented how long it had been since the
customer was in this closet prior to the install however our pre-start document
which is an addendum to the contract indicates that there was a pre-existing
leak “around vents on side”On 11/05/our
tech *** *** visited the property to conduct an inspectionUpon inspection
*** found an area around a vent directly below the closet*** reports this
area & the drywall below it had been affected by water at some point
however at time of inspection was dry to the touchTo ensure this issue was
resolved *** replaced the roof vent as well as the effected wood sheathingOn 11/12/***
returned to the *** residence due to the customers concern of moldA mold
fogger was run in the attic as a proactive measure with a dilute fungicide
common to residential use & standard application in the industry under the
provided specificationsOn 11/13/Mr
Roof Scheduler *** *** scheduled an appointment with Mr*** to address
any interior damage for the date of 11/18/This conflicts with Mr
***’s date of 11/21/& may be where the miscommunication occurred
However our Shoretel (3rd party phone service) records show that
calls were made to the *** residence from the MrRoof scheduling department
on 11/17/at 8:09, 8:& 8:41AM to confirm the appointment for the
following day Scheduler *** *** reports that one voicemail was
left, all calls rang once then went to voicemail; no return calls were recorded
In addition ***
*** & Project Manager *** *** visited the residence that date at
approximately 9:40AM (confirmed by 3rd party fleet tracking company
Fleetmatics) to see if they could get into the property to prepare a material
list for the following dayWhile at the property *** attempted to contact Mr
*** via his cell phone & left an additional message; no return calls
were recordedOn the presumed
scheduled date of 11/18/another call was made from the scheduling
department at 8:18AM to confirm but was not answered; Scheduler *** ***
reports that a message was left requesting a call back to deploy *** to begin
the interior work
MrRoof holds job quality &
customer satisfaction as our number one priorityThis is likely some form of
miscommunication or potentially a phone issue at the *** residence, however
we would still be happy to complete the interior work requested by Mr***,
we just need a responseSince receipt of this complaint on 12/01/we have
left two messages & made two trips to the residence to see if we could
immediately address this matter & are awaiting response

Our vice president reached
out to the customer through email and offered up a couple of solutions
regarding the crack in the patioThe customer accepted a settlement of $
The customer was satisfied with the new roof he purchased from us, but to go
above and beyond the agreed settlement for the crack in the patio, on behalf of
MrRoof, we have purchased an umbrella guarantee for the customer which will
cover all labor, material, and accessories on the lifetime shingle for a period
of yearsWe stand behind our products and services; happy customers are our
top priority

Please be advised that in Baschnagel Broswas called to look a the roof at *** *** *** *** *** ** ***The roof has a mansard of Slate on the front and a Flat Roof on the rest of the houseWe gave (2) proposals:To Remove damaged slate - to Install new plywood and 30lbFelt
and to install new slates to match existing as best as possible on the mansardThe price was $+ TaxIt was repair - not a new roofWe repaired a section that was rotted - not the whole roofSlate roofs have to be maintained. To Install new Flat roof with a Year Guarantee was $5,They need it - the existing roof is in very bad shape. They chose to repair the mansard and to do nothing with the flat roof.We went back recently to see the leak - and it was determined that the leak is coming form the flat roof.We gave them a lower price of $3,to install a new flat roof. The repair that we did in 2013, does not cover the flat roof.Very truly yours,*** ***

Mr*** signed a lifetime economy system contractThis economy
system is our least expensive system and is stated as such in bold point
type on the top of the contractEverything per the contract was completed
above and beyond the contract specifications This includes the extras
the inspector added to the contract which can be found in our better systems
MrRoof puts everything in writing to remove any grey areasMrRoof was so
confident this has been accomplished above and beyond, that we have offered to
have a third party inspect the work, or go to binding arbitration
It should be noted that a settlement was offered by Mr*** in
writing and accepted by MrRoofIn a gracious post settlement offer, that we
completely did as a courtesyMrRoof took the high road and reaffirmed there
were no hard feelings and offered a direct pipeline to the V.Pof the company
if there were any future concernsAdditionally above the standard limited
lifetime warranty on material and labor an umbrella coverage of years was
offered to cover incidentals like animal damages, or almost all other damages
caused outside the range of defective material or workmanship warranty
Enclosed is Mr*** own photo that he sent to MrRoof via email
This photo is in direct conflict that trash was everywhere and MrRoof did not
protect the home

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
The response given by Baschnagel lacked the fact that when they were initially called, it was for a leaky roof. They inspected the roof and gave me an estimate of $to fix it. I was not made aware of the quote for the damage of the flat roof which they now found was the cause of the leak until after the job for the slates have been completed. Baschnagel never gave me an estimate for the flat roof and therefore I did not have a choice as they are making it seem. To me, they were neglegent in their inspection of the roof. The new quote that was given with regards to the flat roof of $3800/3900was after contacting them when my roof began to leak again after they supposedly "fixed" it. It took several months to get someone to come and take a look at the roof just to give me a new quote that was not given initially. Their roofing service as well as their customer service was poor. *** (inspector) was rude and downright offensive and abrassive in the way he spoke with me and in handling the matter.
In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above
Sincerely,
*** ***

They did call on the 17th and 18th and left messages stating that since there was snow on the roofs they wanted to get in and take care of this, however we had appointment for Friday the 21st at 9:am since I am off work on FridaysI did not receive messages until Thursday the 20th for I do not usually have my phone on during the work weekThere was absolutely NO miscommunicationFriday the 21st was a nice day so they decided to do roof jobs, apparently disregarding our appointmentAfter filing complaint, I did receive a message at 12:pm on Monday stating they had someone scheduled to come look at the damage, however I Had other things going on which is why I had my phone turned on to receive that message. This guy *** that they stated was to repair damage, had already told me that he does not do inside damage, so I really am not sure what they were sending him out forI do believe they have no clue about mold removal or drywall work, however I kept the appointment to see what his plan was going to be. I am going to call them to discuss what they plan on doing if they do ever show up for the appointments that they make!! Just to have it on record, all appointments with MrRoof will be made on Fridays when I am off since I work hour shifts Monday-Thursday and these repairs will take longer than an hour or soI know the extent of work that needs to be done since I have remodeling experience and know the time line for these kind of repairs

The claim
made by the homeowner is not authentic according to the insurance claims
adjuster who informed us that they had an engineer review the damage and
determined our estimator could not have caused the damageThe insurance
company adjuster sent a denial letter to the homeowner’s
attorney on July 31,
stating as suchWe can supply the Revdex.com with the contact information for
the insurance claims adjuster upon request

I have attached some photos of the roof area the customer alleges our estimator damaged when he fell on a snow covered roof
The damage area is about ftx4ft and there are two layers of shingle roofing on the home
The shingles have been removed down to the felt paper with tools of either hammers or flat bar
Someone has purposefully damaged this roof edge after we measured the roof to provide a proposal for replacement
The customer is stating his neighbor saw our estimator Larry fall while on the roof
We don’t know if this is true, but had the neighbor or any other person seen someone using tools to tear off the roof, I am sure that would have been disclosed and the police would have been called

MrRoofs response was non-senseTo say no one is perfect is understandable but this wasn't even closeI was never offered to have someone come out and clean the surrounding area of my home, I would have had them do it that day, who wouldn't have? #of the contract I signed states "Job to be thoroughly cleaned up and proper disposal of all debris that day"That never happened eitherAnd sending an inspector out to obtain photos was unprofessional not calling or setting up a time to meet me hereI haven't heard back from anyone from MrRoof since the 14th of October that's why I contacted the Revdex.comThey had plenty of time to contact meNo one was here while the inspection was doneThat was great for MrRoofA good way for them to pick apart any flaw they found in the concreteIt's funny they try and pick apart another contractors workAll I can say is the concrete company never damaged my property and that is what this complaint is aboutI could have provided a copy of my contract for the patio being done by professionals months earlier and the day it was done if I would have known when MrRoof was coming outI tried going through the chain of command from the salesman to *** his boss the buck stopped there and this is why we are in this situationLooks like MrRoofs management is as unprofessional as their guys out working on homes through my experienceEither way that shouldn't make a difference of when it was done they damaged itI did express concerns of the guys using extra plywoodThere was more issues / concerns than that even but I was limited in typing space and figured I had enough to prove my caseThe issues were brought up to MrRoof with pictures and detailsFor the plywood issue MrRoof brought up there was spots replaced that were each like 2' x 2'To fix of the holes the guys cut one piece in half and used piece to fix both spotsThat was what I expressed my concerns about if they could do that in one spot why didn't they do it again for the restThe other spots one whole sheet was used for a 2'x2' section and in the front valley instead of being able to use the other half of the second piece if it was cut down the middle again the guy took out whole sheets to make it easier to fix the 2'x2' section that needed replaced that way he could stand in the attic and work at waist height instead of being bent over on his hands and kneesWhen does the homeowner pay for the workers comfortThat was the reason the cost was droppedIt would have only took the free sheets allowed instead of the extras I was getting charged forThat was my substantial discount they supposedly gave meThen in their response I was told that in my contract it clearly states that the contractor is not liable for any damages to my concrete or the drivewayLooking at my contract I could not find that anywhere(The fine print on the back paragraphs down is were I finally found itThat was NEVER GONE OVER or SIGNED the only part to sign is for cancelations this is were MrRoof was referring toThe salesman focussed only on the front and that is all we went over and that's what sold me and that is all I signed the frontThe back contradicts what is on the front.) I did find that #of my contract states MrRoof is the contractor / supplier therefore MrRoof is reliableWhat I also seen on my contract under #states "Prepare house to have roof removed, (tarp, etc.) to ensure debris does not damage any siding, shrubs, lawn, etc." The etc would include my damage patio surrounding the housePictures proved that the prep work was not done properlyAnd the poor workmanship was what caused the damagesWho throws metal roof jacks of the roof onto any type of concreteIf the debris and materials were removed from the roof properly this would of never happenedWhy have a lifted dumpster if your not going to use it for thatIt's advertisementSo it's nice of MrRoof to offer courtesy settlements to those even when they don't believe they actual caused the damageThis is clear that it's 100% possible that it was done due to poor workmanship so how about you pay meI am asking for the $3,your supplies are marked so it's not like it is actual $3,for MrRoofAlso for the guys doing the work being 100% responsible take it from themWhy should I have to be responsible for their poor actionsHold your guys responsible for their work it might get them to think twice before making simple mistakes and have them preform quality throughout the entire jobMaybe they should be refereed back to #of the contract where it states all installers to have completed MrRoof Master Quality Shingler Program or add something in the program about workmanshipIn MrRoofs case poor workmanshipThis is totally uncalled for and should have never made it this far even

The General Manager of the Grand
Rapids office spoke to this customer this past weekend and they informed our GM that
all concerns have been met to their satisfaction

The following response and information is being provided for your consideration of the above
reference complaintI *** ** ***, the home owner, contend that the Invoice submitted by Mr
Roof in response to my complaint is fabricated, manipulative and without meritMrRoof has been paid
in full
I further contend that MRRoof was paid in full as contracted, see the attached documents:
IApril 3,- Initial Agreement "As per Adjusters Report"
Pre-Start Check list
5/9/- Insurance Estimate
May 30, -Transmission Report
Please do not hesitate to contact me for additional informationI believe that a preponderance of the
information presented will show that MrRoof has been paid in full as initially agreed

Nobody
is perfect and upon learning about the homeowners concerns, we immediately
offered to re-clean the surrounding area to the homeowner’s satisfaction
excluding the saw dust in the atticWe also, sent out an inspector to obtain
photos regarding the cement patio
In
addition to the cleanup and cement, the homeowner also expressed concern about
the sheets of wood that needed to be replacedInstead of using the small
pieces of wood per the homeowner request, we used full sheets and gave him a
substantial discount Regarding the patio, the contract the homeowner
signed is clear; it states the Contractor shall not be held liable for any
damages to concrete or the driveway
That
being said we do offer courtesy settlements even when we don’t believe we
actually caused the damageUnfortunately, this homeowner is requesting an
exorbitant amount for something we feel we didn’t do. Additionally, it’s
hard to believe this stamped concrete was done by a professional months ago
The imprinted designs don’t match up, don’t go to the edges, and the
edges are flakingPlease see attached photos
