There are of course
always two sides to every story. Able Roofing has been in business since 1986
with well over 50,000 satisfied customers. Our estimators are customer centric
- we do not approve or condone high pressure – if we did there would certainly be
other complaints posted, and there simply are none! This particular instance
was surely miscommunication between homeowner and estimator, as the homeowner
signed not one, but actually two documents clearly indicating their intent to
move forward with the project with a deposit forthcoming. We have acknowledged
that the customer wishes to cancel the signed contract – and are happy to do
so.

I am rejecting this response because:Several points here. I have less than 0 reason to have another Mr. Roof Lackey come to my home with only their interests to protect. They have proven nothing to me other than their complete ability to botch a job from start to finish. They are lying here. Plain and simple, just like I said they did when they told me I needed a new roof. I bought the Skylight that I was told to buy by their MAN, Jim E[redacted] and I can prove it with my Text Messages from Verizon. I have maintained through out this process that they have misdiagnosed my issue and are now being evasive so that they are covered. They have done nothing but lie to me from the beginning. It is my sincere hope that the good people at the Revdex.com can see through all their deceitful tactics and protect the consumer here. I am the victim here. As far as I can see there is only 1 course of action left, the resolution I outlined in my original complaint. In the Interim I think that their "A+" certification should be pulled as their are not in any way, shape, or form representing the values that the Revdex.com stands for and I do not want another family to fall prey to this extremely corrupt corporation.

While we apologize that there are some items to be corrected it is and has certainly been on the top of our list to get those items rectified in a timely manner. While our Project Managers oversee multiple jobs in a day, we certainly do not want any of our customers to believe that they are any...

less important than the next. We currently are and have been working on rectifying all of the consumer’s concerns.   While hanging up on a customer is not customary at any point, we cannot allow our employees to be cursed or yelled at when we continually ask for the customer to work with us on a professional level as we do with them. We empathize that the construction process can be an emotional or even stressful time period for any customer; our goal is to make it as painless as possible.   All of the consumer’s issues as previously stated are currently being rectified and we look forward to finishing strong with proper workmanship and customer care.

I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find the resolution is satisfactory to me.  Ms. [redacted] has arranged for an electrician to come fix the problem next Friday October 13th. I told her that once the problem was fixed I would be happy to inform Revdex.com of this. Incidentally, I do not believe I "overstepped myself".  Had the project manager gotten back to me as promised on multiple occassions I would not have had tp contact Ms. C** and subsequently the Revdex.com.  I also, immediately corrected the email address and resent to Ms. C**.

We are not sure where the confusion may be with the customer, but we
have tried to explain this several times to him. We believe he either doesn’t
understand or doesn’t want to pay his deductible which is why there is an open
balance on his account.

When we invoiced the customer on 10-31-12, we had to
remove a charge of $1388.52 which was coded as Yard Sign Credit and should have
been coded as waiting on insurance supplement. The customer accepted that a supplement of $1388.52 would
be paid to Mr. Roof if accepted but at that time the insurance company had not
decided whether they were paying for a damaged awning or not and since that
work hadn’t been done we credited that amount. The insurance company then approved the supplement and
the awning was replaced which was then invoiced separately for $1388.52.The customer got their last payment from the insurance
company and sent us a check for $2801.36 on 12-13-12. That check paid off
$1662.84 on invoice [redacted] and paid $1138.52 of the balance on invoice [redacted] (the supplement)  leaving a balance of $250.00

We have re- checked
the insurance claim and the $250.00 balance was the deductible and the
customer’s insurance company noted they paid the claim less that amount.

I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted].  I find the response...

lacking in empathy, as well as lacking an explanation as to why all three appoints were not kept.   Customer service is not their top priority and they use their A+ rating with the Revdex.com to promote this to potential customers.  I do hope this complaint is noted under their business for future customers to review.  Please close this complaint since I have received my refund on 9/24.

I would like to address each
response given to us :
Gutters: Alloy gutters ( subcontracted by MrRoof )after hearing our
complaint came out immediately to our home to address our concernsThe gutters
have been pushed back closer to the house and the fascia that was hanging has
been reattachedThey also took the time to explain the additional hangers that
showWe have had no significant rainfall yet to assess if water runs where it
should but are happy with the efforts thus far since our complaintYou state roofing companies only take liability for the damage that is created
due to the companies negligenceNegligence occurred and the roofer came into
our home to inspect the damage at time of occurance $was received in
accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract which state "in
the unlikely event of ceiling damage on the interior, MrRoof will patch that
area of the homeMrRoof agrees to pay for the painting of that section
only"You knew of no local dry wallers and we had only one vague quote,
so we agreed upon the $as compensation for the dislodged and cracked
drywallWe never asked for compensation for painting the areaThe drywall
issue to us was resolved
Dips in the roof: You state it was after the city inspected and approved the
roof that you gave us a courtesy settlement of $In fact there is no final
inspection on file at all with the city and this was confirmed with a call to
the city as of 5/19/
When we called and had the inspector come out in the fall to help us address
our concerns, we were told no formal inspection could be done as there was no
permit pulled for the jobThe inspector told us he would want to go up into
our attic space to view the board replacement on the NE side of the home after
a permit was obtainedWhen I informed MrRoof that there was no permit on
file, they quickly backtracked to get the permit and it was obtained on 10/9/There has been no inspector in our home or on our
property since the permit was pulledSo the courtesy settlement post approved
inspection is fabricatedAt no time has there been an offer made to us to shim
out the difference in the dip from the old wood to the new woodWe would need further explanation as to what a " feathering out of the
roofing area " exactly means and how it pertains to addressing our
concerns regarding our roof before an acceptance to your offer is given

Enclosed is evidence of water leaks since roof was installed by Mr. Roof in 2009.  Also evidence where I was told by Chris J[redacted], contractor for Mr. Roof that work done would stop the leaks, but it was nothing but false statements.[redacted]
[redacted]Mr. Roof has destroyed my house.

I am rejecting this response because:I do agree with the one answer, of the reps were at our house more than once but we were not told or given any information about what is wrong with our windows if I had known that these so called best windows ever made were made that you cant see out of I certainly would not had them installed.I just want windows that I can see out of with a warranty, and yes  when the reps were here I showed them the window in the kitchen that was getting hard to open at that time.

Customer service is a high priority for Mr. Roof and we didn’t realize our customer was trying to reach us. The calls were going to an employee cell phone and not our office line. We did fail to properly communicate with this customer until the Revdex.com communication advised us there was an issue. We...

contacted the customer immediately this morning to schedule a technician to their home. Our customer didn’t realize there was a ventilation change on the contract to exchange a solar powered attic van for the existing  box type vents on the home. The customer will also communicate with the Revdex.com and add additional comments to their original communication. We appreciate the Revdex.com’s assistance and apologize to our customer for the inconvenience.
