Heartless
I learned my lesson from these scam artist starting from the sales person Ulises Apanteco, Delivery Manager Mason Schweinzger to the finance lady. I agreed to the purchase price of a new 2021 Jeep Gladiator Overland at the price of 41,000 plus tax and fees. Once at the signing table I asked the finance lady how much was the price she showed me on the computer to be 41,000 dollars so I did not think they they would change the price of the vehicle to 43,888 and then added the dealer installed options and or services fees without telling me. I should have inspected it but I just never thought that a dealer like this would do something like this to a customer. After signing I spotted that they had added 1400 dollars option that I specifically told them I did not want. This option was the under spray and special wax that Delivery Manager Mason Schweinzger insisted on me to sign. He kept asking me to sign approximately 3-4 times and I refused to sign it. Well I guess the finance lady slipped it in on me. I complained to her and told her I never authorized that but they are very sly and heartless. At least I was able to get that removed but when I got home I revised the sale and realized that I was scammed into all the other fees and crap I was never told about. I called the General Manager approximately 4-5 times and was too busy. Left voicemails and has not called me back. Do yourself and me a favor don't give this dealership your business and if you do beware. Well Social Media and I will contact channel 7 eyewitness to investigate this scamming.

I purchased a used Jeep from Napletons on a Saturday and while driving 20 miles home experianced an issue with the car shaking and imediately called the service department for a Monday appointment. After looking at my car they could not find anything wrong with it and said I was ok to drive. A week later I still experianced the same issue but took it to a closer dealer in which they found $500 of work that needed to be done and it has worked ever since. Napleton offered to reimburse me a $100 but 3 phone calls with promises and 6 months later, no check. I will never recommend buying car here to anyone. Poor service all around

Doug, Irving and Grayson made buying a car a great experience ! Doug went above and beyond. I would refer everyone to your dealership.

With this review I am not trying to profit or get something out of Napleton Dealership in Arlington Heights but for the customers that are shopping for a car I want to explain to you guys the worst experience I have had with not just a car dealership but with any place that I have bought something. This Dealership and company is dangerous and very manipulative and are all about ripping customers off. I was shopping around for a used car. My preference was a [redacted] make and model. As I was searching for the perfect car that fit me, I saw that Napleton in Arlington Heights had a [redacted]. I decided to check out the reviews that people had left for this dealership. As I checked out their website reviews there were some good reviews. [redacted] reviews were so so because they have a rating of 4.0. But I never checked the Revdex.com reviews before purchasing the car because if I would have, I would have noticed that there was 6 negative reviews in Revdex.com. The car was listed online for $6000 but when I went in and spoke to Mr. Irving [redacted] (one of the worst salesman ever) he decided to raise the price up to $10,000 and his reasoning was because I didnt have any credit. Mind you I test drove the car and the car was cold because it had not been turned on for while. Again we are talking about a 2006 [redacted] C280 4Matic with 102,000+ miles. After going back and forth with Irvin about price being ridiculous Mr.Irving [redacted] statement was its about being a want not a need. So his idea of selling a car was being rude with his smart comments because he was telling me when you buy a car its about a want not a need. I told him thank you I know its a want not a need because if I needed a car I wouldnt look at [redacted] but get something that will drive me from A to B. So since Mr. Irving [redacted] didnt want to work things out I decided to leave. As I was walking out Irving [redacted] walked in the Managers or finance guys office Mr. Ray [redacted] and said hold on. BECAUSE I DIDNT HAVE THE CREDIT THEY TRIED TO RAISE THE PRICE TO MAKE AN EXTRA $4000 AND USED THE EXCUSE THAT ITS BECAUSE OF NO CREDIT AND THE BANK WILL FINANCE FOR THAT MUCH. So my payments were going to be about $295 a month. So as I was about to walk the Finance manager came out Mr. Ray [redacted] and said "hey where does the problem stand"? I said the price is ridicoulous for that car and you raised it by $4000. He said " Hold on let me check something". RAY went in his office for no longer than 3 minutes and came out with some other paper work and said " hey man I got the price down to $205 a month. After doing the math the car came down to the price which was listed before at $6000. I was like ok that fine but after 10 minutes I was like WOAH IN 3 MINUTES HOW TO HELL DID THEY JUST COME UP WITH 2500+ less for the car. HOW DID THEY GO TO ORIGINAL PRICE WHEN MR.IRVIN TOLD ME WE CANT GO DOWN ON THE PRICE BECAUSE OF YOUR CREDIT. AND I DECIDED TO ASK THE FINANCE GUY AND HE SAID I FOUND A BANK TO APPROVE YOU, HOWEVER IT WAS 9:30 PM AND THAT WAS THE ONLY BANK THAT HAD APPROVED ME THE WHOLE TIME AND THE ONLY ONE THAT WAS GOING TO APPROVE ME BUT IT IS BECAUSE THEY WERE TRYING TO MAKE AN EXTRA $2500 ON THE CAR SO NOW THAT THEY SAW ME WALK AWAY THEY HAD ROOM TO GO DOWN TO ORIGINAL PRICE. THEY JUST WANTED TO TEST ME TO SEE IF I WOULD FALL FOR IT AND IF I WOULD HAVE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT NIGHT. THERE WAS NO OTHER BANKS IT WAS ONLY ONE BANK AND IF THAT BANK APPROVED ME FOR THAT MUCH AT THE END THEY HAD APPROVED ME THE WHOLE TIME IT WAS THEM TRYING TO "SCAM" ME AS MUCH AS THEY COULD. I decided to buy the car and at the price was included a $700 fee where they use to fix any car problem, but they had to charge the customer. When I requested to see what they had fixed for this car since it was use they refused to give me the work that had been done by them. I needed this paper to see what they had done. So I took the car and drove back home at 10:30 pm. 20 minutes into the drive with the [redacted] I started to hear some loud knuckling noise and it the noise came from the middle of the car. It was late so I couldnt go back to the dealer because they were closed. So I decided to take it to the [redacted] Dealership for whole check up. After they did a check up on the car they came out with multiple issues in the car. The main issues on the car were INTAKE MANIFAULT IN THE ENGINE AND TRANSFER CASE ON THE 4MATIC SYSTEM OF THE TRANSMISSION. Other things were minor. The [redacted] dealer declared that this CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. So I decided to go back to Napleton Dealership to tell them this car was sold to me in a non working condition and non driveable condition which has to do with my safety. This was within 3 days of buying the car. When I went to Napleton the used car manager MR.Lou Porretta came up to me and after about 5 minutes of conversating and me explaining the issue he started to yell and became very defensive and rude. HE STATED THAT THE FAULT IS MINE FOR CHOOSING THIS CAR AND HE DOESNT HAVE THE RIGHT TO SAY THAT BUT BECAUSE I HAD ALREADY BOUGHT THE CAR AND SIGNED FOR IT NOW ITS MY FAULT BUT BEFORE I BOUGHT THE CAR THEY WERE TRYING SO HARD AND SO NICE TO SELL ME THE CAR BUT NOW ITS MY FAULT WOW GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE NOTTTT! After talking to him for about 2 hours of explaining that the car was sold to me in bad condition I couldnt even talk to him because he would yell raise his voice rude and even disrespect me by saying " sucks to be you now". LOU EVEN TEST DROVE THE CAR AND ADMITTED THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. "HE SAID THAT THIS PROBLEM HAD TO HAPPENED AFTER AND THAT HIS GUYS CHECKED THE CAR AND THIS WASNT FOUND THERE BUT ALSO MENTIONED THAT HIS GUYS THAT FIX CARS IN THE DEALERSHIP ARE NOT CERTIFIED FOR GERMAN ENGINEER CAR, SO THEY MIGHT HAVE MISSED IT. HE CLAIMED THAT THEY DO SOME CHECK UP IF OIL IS OK BREAKS OK AND TIRES OK THEY MAKE THE CAR SAFE TO DRIVE IF ONLY THIS THREE THINGS ARE OK. SO IF ENGINE IS BAD AND TRANSMISSION IS BAD THAT CAN BLOW UP OR LEAVE YOU IN THE MIDDLE SCREEN THAT IS NOT A RED FLAG FOR CAR BEING UNSAFE OR UNDRIVEABLE ACCORDING TO MR. LOU [redacted] OF NAPLETON ARLINGTON HEIGHTS. SO HE MENTIONED TO ME THAT I SHOULD TAKE THIS CAR TO HIS GOOD FRIEND THAT FIXES [redacted] AND KNOWS [redacted] WELL BECAUSE LOU CLAIMED THAT [redacted] IS SCAMMING ME BECAUSE OF HIM YELLING AND BEING RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL AND NOT EVEN HELPING ME OR COMING UP WITH SOLUTION I LEFT AND DROVE THE CAR FOR COUPLE MORE DAYS BECAUSE I WAS STUCK AND DIDNT KNOW WHAT TO DO. CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I TOOK IT TO HIS FRIEND AND HIS FRIEND STATED THE SAME ISSUES THAT THE [redacted] STATED AND HE ALSO STATED THAT THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE TOO. LOU EVEN CALLED HIS FRIEND TO VERIFY THIS AND HIS FRIEND TOLD HIM THAT YEA THAT [redacted] HAS ISSUES WITH THOSE PROBLEMS AND IS NOT OK TO DRIVE. AFTER 10 DAYS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THE PISTON STARTED TO MISFIRE AND THE INTAKE MISFAULT WAS BAD. I DECIDED TO GO BACK TO GIVE IT BACK AND GET ANOTHER CAR AND THE DEALER TOLD ME WAIT UNTIL WE FIND A CAR FOR ME BECAUSE THEY DIDNT HAVE ANY. AFTER I WENT BACK COUPLE DAYS LATER THEY HAD VW CC AND ASKED THEM FOR THE PRICE AND ASKED MR. ROB FOR THE PRICE OF THE CAR BECAUSE IT WASNT LISTED ON THE WEBSITE AND HE TOLD ME THAT THE CAR IS BETWEEN 14,000-15,000. The thing is that they also had a [redacted] that was in their stock that I believe they were trying to get rid of and sell so they were forcing me in this car. Anytime I would ask for another car and the price of that car they would say not for you because it to high for you and the bank wont approve more than $13,000 but the [redacted] was the only one for me. COME TO FIND OUT I CHECK ONLINE 2 DAYS LATER THE VW CC IS $10,000 AFTER I HAD BEEN SUCKED IN THE [redacted] THAT I AM DRIVING NOW. THE [redacted] COST ME $13,000, AND WITH INTEREST $17,000. YET THE VW CC THAT IS $10,000 WAS NOT FOR ME BECAUSE THE BANK WOULDNT APPROVE LESS BECAUSE NAPLETON AND LOU WANTED TO GET RID OF NISSAN BECAUSE IT HAD BEEN SEATING IN THERE LOT FOR MORE THAN 30 DAYS IN WHICH IS KNOWN THAT DEALERS LOSE VALUE ON THE CAR IF THEY SEAT MORE THAN 30 DAYS. SO LONG STORY SHORT I GOT SCAMMED INTO THE NISSAN [redacted].
MORAL OF THIS IS
1. SCAMMED INTO BAD [redacted] WITH MAJOR ISSUES ENGINE AND TRASMISSION
2. I WAS LIED ABOUT PRICING IN THE BEGINNING BECAUSE OF NO CREDIT
3. EMPLOYEES LIKE LOU [redacted] AND IRVING [redacted] SCAMMED ME INTO BELEIVING THE [redacted] IS OK
4. RAY THE FINANCE GUY TRIED TO RAISE THE PRICE TO MAKE MONEY FOR THE COMPANY OR MAKE HIS COMMISSION BUT WHEN I WALKED HE CAME BACK TO NORMAL PRICE
5. LIED PRICING OF ANOTHER CAR I LIKED SO THEY CAN GET ME STUCK WITH NISSAN THAT THEY NEEDED TO SELL
[redacted] IF YOU WANT TO BE SCAMMED GO HERE. IF YOU WANT A GOOD CAR AND LOOKING FOR SOMETHING YOU LIKE AND WANT TO BE HELPED DONT GO HERE. THEY ARE TROUBLE, LIARS, CHEATERS, SCAMMERS. I THINK THIS WHOLE COMPANY OF NAPLETON IS A SCAMMING COMPANY READ Revdex.com. TRUST ME IF YOU GO HERE YOU WILL BE SCAMMED AND THEY WILL GET YOU IN A CAR THAT IS NOT SAFE NOT DRIVEABLE.[redacted]

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/02/19) */
The customer has been in communication with the service manager. His car requires multiple repairs in order to try to rectify his issues. On his last visit, he approved 1 repair but declined the 2nd repair. We would be willing to work...

on a discount if price is what is stopping the customer from approving this repair.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/02/21) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The service manager promised to call me back buthe never did. The repair that he quoted me accoeding to him is not a guarantee of fixing the problem, so what is the point of having repair if it is not going to fix the issue.I would take a "refund"
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/02/25) */
The customer was explained why and what was being done to his vehicle. The service work that was paid for was performed. We understand the customer has taken his vehicle elsewhere for service at this time.
Thank you.

They were very condescending, rude, and combative. We hadn't talked about the price of the car yet and the sales associate Adam had come over telling me that there's nothing he can do with price and asked what I was doing. He was also rude in the way he spoke to us and condescending when we asked questions. We then agreed upon a finance option and he came back with a higher price. After we got that cleared up, we told them that we'd like to sign that offer. Then he came back and told us that someone just walked in and was interested in the car and that they're just going to see the car to them - this was at 8:55pm and the dealer closes at 9pm. Being frustrated with what Adam did and the way they treated us, we spoke with the manager Cristian and he said he was going to honor that deal and that he would find that car for us from another dealer and get it for us. Throughout the week, Cristian never called me back and told me that he probably wasn't going to find it. I asked to speak with the owner who we had met when we were in the showroom and they kept telling me that he would call me back as well. It took a week for him to finally call me back. He also didn't apologize for his staff and told me that he was however sorry that I thought that they were rude. We went back to see if the car was still there and it was, so they not only lied about that, but they continued to lie about finding me this vehicle that they said they would honor for me. The sales staff, managers, and owner were very unprofessional, rude, condescending, and lied many times to me.

The dealer was [redacted], lied to us and wouldn't respect the price the car was offered for on the website. He was trying to charge us $800 more than they advertised without him adding anything or doing anything to the car.
I found a deal on [redacted].com for a per-owned 2012 toyota camry for $10000 at napleton's arlington heights chrysler dodge. we went to the showroom in the eveing, and the car they brought up front was filthy, had garbage and papers all over the car. we asked the salesperson to at least have it cleaned so that we could take the car for a test drive, which they did but didn't even vacuum. The test drive was ok. When we got back to the dealership, the salesperson asked us what our ethnicity was, and started being rude to us. The car had scratches on the side (which they didn't mention in their ad) and a hole in the rear bumper. With all these things that were wrong, the dealer increased the price and stated that the sale price listed on the website is wrong and he will sell it for 10800 without fixing anything or even vacuuming and washing the car.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: The dealer claims the vehicle no longer needs service. This dealer repaired the vehicle for the same issue recently and has since broken down 300 miles from home. They have been courteous, but have insistently pressed me to drop my complaint BEFORE repairs are completed. I realize they are sales oriented at heart, but I will continue to bring attention to this matter in additional forums if needed until it's resolved. I'd be willing to listen to ANY independent arbritrators opinion as to whether or not might complaint has merit.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

New management/ownership is awful and liars!
I went in to purchase my third Jeep in less than a year and they lost my business.
1. Napletons lied about rebates. First they said they did not exist. I pointed them out on the Jeep website and then they changed their story to "you aren't eligible, those are for military members." I called a Jeep dealer down the street which informed me that was not true. I then called the corporate office to confirm which they did. Napletons then said they could do one of the rebates but not the other. I told them that it was not a military rebate and they still argued. They were trying to play the numbers hiding the rebates/overcharging.
2. Napletons tried to only taking a few bucks off the sticker price. A manager then stated that if I financed through them they could take a bit more off, but couldn't go a penny less. The vehicle was listed on their website for $2000 less than their "very best price" in person. Another lie and scam. THEY WILL NOT HONOR THE ONLINE PRICES!
3. When I purchased my last Jeep a few months ago the salesman, sales manager, finance manager, and multiple other managers told me that If I gave them perfect reviews on the NEW VEHICLE PURCHASE SURVEY that corporate sends out Napletons would give me a coupon for $2500 off my next vehicle purchase. They did not deserve perfect ratings but a $2500 coupon swayed me to oblige. The only stipulation on the coupon was "This coupon has no expiration date." NO OTHER STIPULATIONS.
4. I went in to purchase my third jeep and they refused the coupon:
First Excuse: This coupon cannot be combined with any other offers including rebates
Second Excuse: We gave you a good deal on your last car we can't do another "Stink deal" you are ripping us off. (Blame the customer for YOUR coupon)
Third Excuse: We can't honor the coupon on this vehicle but can if you choose another vehicle. However, every vehicle I chose they would find another excuse.
Fourth Excuse: The coupon was a misprint and is invalid.
Fifth Excuse: The coupon is only valid if you have a trade in.
5. I dealt with multiple managers and eventually Jody [redacted] the owner and his brother Doug [redacted]. Both of which kept changing their stories, not backing up their promises, and jerked around about vehicle prices and the coupon. They do not honor their own website prices, their coupons, corporate rebates, or their customers.

I love my car ! It's my first car , a [redacted] ! My dad speaks Spanish and little English and Ofcourse I knew nothing about purchasing a car . Q helped us out . Totally tricked us into getting a warranty after asking many times if it was a warranty to begin with , they said no it's not . Even called a financial advisor so reassure us . So angry!!! I put in a cancellation request on 10/10 , 9 days later sent an email out after calling the dealer and no answer . Got a reply right away saying that the warranty cancelation was then being processed to find out that it hasn't been sent out!! I called where I have my warranty and the . So upset ! It has already been more than a month . So sad that they lied to us to begin with after asking many times

Don't buy a car here!!! Literally go ANYWHERE else.
The ONLY reason they got 1 star, is because I can't give them ZERO STARS.
I have bought lots of cars in my life, and never have I had such a miserable experience. Let's be honest, no one likes buying cars. The whole process sucks. Napleton however has taken this terrible experience, and found a way to make it even more painful.
To say the sales team is below average, is an insult to below average sales people everywhere. They are not knowledgeable about the vehicles on the lot, are incredibly slow to find out answers, and my favorite part, is that they try to help more than one customer at a time.
Now maybe I'm just high maintenance, but when I am in a car dealership ready to drop $40,000 on a new car, I expect 100%, undivided attention from my sales guy. You don't get that here.
If you like being ignored, lied to, and sitting around for long periods of time just waiting for answers, than this is the dealership for you!
The ONLY reason I bought the car here, is they had the car I wanted at the right price.
And now after 2 weeks, it seems as though the transmission is already shot. It's a 1 year old car, so they had to know this. Again, just another trick to try and move a car.
Here's a crazy idea guys - train your sales people so they know their [redacted] from a hole in the ground, get people timely answers, pay attention to potential customers when they're STANDING IN YOUR SHOWROOM, and tell people the truth.
Oh, and stop trying to sell so much ** to customers after they buy the car. If I wanted to add an extra $4,000 worth of ** onto my purchase, I would have told you about it. I don't want tire insurance, paint protection, gap insurance, wheel coverage, or any of the other non sense that you tried to shove down my throat, when I just wanted to get out the [redacted] door.
I've never wanted to see a business permanently close their doors so badly in all my life. These guys have no business being in the car business. Or any business for that matter.
Thoroughly Disgusted,
Mike

I found a used car that I have been looking for on their website. I called to make sure that the car was still available. They said yes and I made an appointment to see the car and test drive it. The called me the next day as well as the day of to confirm that I was coming in to look at that car. I confirmed and when I get there after an hour of a run around that they can not find the car on the lot they inform me that it got sent to action. I should have walked away right then and there. But the sales person said there are three cars that are same type but different makes on the lot for the same price. I look at the cars pick out the one I like best and then when they brought me the paperwork that car was over double the price. They were very rude and nasty to me when I said the price is over double I thought that you said that it was the same price of the car that I came to look at. After 3 hours from start to finish I left without a car. This dealership are complete scam artists and I do not recommend anyone to ever go there.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2014/08/18) */
Ms. [redacted] gave us the needed references, which were required for financing, on Friday. Once her deal is funded by the bank, we will provide her a refund of $300 for the radio issue. We felt she understood this when she left...

Friday.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2014/08/19) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
the I owe from the dealer has no set amount nor was one discussed on Friday . attached is the I owe you from the deaLER AND THE RECEIP FOR PAID REPAIRS, I FEEL I SHOULD GET THE TOTAL AMOUNT I PAID FOR THE REPAIRS. AND NOT JUST $300.00

Our customer service manager has reached the customer and they have come to a mutually agreeable decision.

Ms. [redacted] is not a customer of this dealership.  Any concerns related to a deal finalized by her husband, [redacted], and this dealership have been resolved to his full satisfaction.

My boyfriend and I were looking into trading our car in and I started out looking at St Charles CDJR but was throughly disgusted with how they did business. I was disrespected In so many ways. Unfortunately my boyfriend had to work but he was able to be on the phone with me through everything I called him and told him how angry I was with my experience there. He mentioned looking at Napleton's CDJR in Arlington Heights because he heard they have wonderful customer service. He made a phone call to Lucas and explained to him my prior experience and how angry I was with the previous CDJR dealership I visited and Lucas apologized for what had happened and said have her come in and we'll take care of her. The moment I walked in to Napleton's CDJR in Arlington Heights I was greeted with friendly and smiling faces. And within a minute a salesmen named "Q" figured out what I was looking for and we were on our way to looking at cars. He was sooooo friendly and extremely knowledgeable. While I was waiting for him to get keys I had a handful of people including managers ask me if there is anything else that they could do for me. It was so refreshing. Positivity is definitely contagious. Q showed me all the cars in my price range and let me know everything I could possible know about them. When it came to figuring out numbers I felt like he really had my back and wanted to make it work out to what my criteria was. They gave me a very good offer on my trade in which was really nice! Once we agreed on numbers and I was waiting to sign the final papers he showed me around the service department for when I come back in for oil changes, free car washes, etc. He introduced me to all the people who work back there and where to go when I need help. Once I had my papers signed and was ready to drive away, Q had my new car all ready! Every person I came in contact with during my trip there was so pleasant and accommodating. I've had great car buying experiences before but Napleton's CDJR in Arlington Heights set a new standard for me here! I will definitely send anyone I know here!! Thanks guys for the awesome car buying experience. I love my new car!

Eric [redacted] is the worst service consultant that works there. Never offered me a shuttle bus or a loaner and told me my car would be ready by 3pm. When I arrived to pick my car they haven't even started on it and I had dropped off my car at 8am. Eric [redacted] had a careless attitude blamed other people for his mistakes. He was very unprofessional. When I told him I was going to make a complaint he said he didn't care. Just want the owners of this dealer to know what type of people work for them.

Complaint: 11689336
I am rejecting this response because: their response is a fabrication and an outright lie.  The repair takes seven hours and they had the car for three and a half days.  Additionally, the car was returned with both the interior and exterior dirty.  Pearl property in the interior was rearranged and disorganized.  An overall poor job on the dealer's part.
Sincerely,
Charles [redacted]
