National Check Resolution Reviews (%countItem)

In April of 2017 NCR began contacting me multiple time daily, both on my cell phone and on my work line. After the first call to my work line, I told them that they are no longer allowed to call me at work, and may only contact me using my cell phone. I received two more calls to my work phone after that from the same individual. The calls from this company ceased after I disputed the debt with the original creditor. The calls have begun again. This time I hear from *** twice per day, if not more. On 7/21/2017, I spoke with a manager at this company when I called in to speak to ***. He was very rude, cut me off, and told me numerous times that they would email me a proof of debt as well as payment arrangement options. He also said that I would be served paperwork and essentially sued for this debt. Two charges, one of check fraud, and the other of misleading a lender, were the charges he was telling me I would be served for. I tried to explain to him that without proof of this debt being with their office as the original creditor did not verify it was with NCR, and in fact said that the file I had with their office was closed. I was told I would receive the proof of the debt that I was asking for within 15 minutes. As of this morning, 7/24/2017, I have not received a email with the documents requested. Additionally, I received two more calls this morning from *** Hart indicating that they would have me served with paperwork for the charges filed against me if I did not call her back immediately today. I called her once again and left a voicemail for her explaining that I had not received anything via email as promised. I am worried not only about the continuing threatening and rude phone calls, but also by the fact that this company is unwilling to provide proof of the debt. I filed a complaint with the Attorney General of Colorado's office and received an email from them moments ago indicating that this office is not licensed to collect in the state of Colorado.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) I want NCR to cease all actions against me at this point. Not only is the original lender unable to confirm that the account is with NCR, but the original lender has flat out denied (i have written proof) that a account with my name is with NCR. I would also like them to cease all communications. Upon research I believe NCR has violated FDCPA 15 U.S.C. '' 1692e, 1692e(5), 1692e(10), and 1692e(11). I need this issue to be cleared up as soon as possible.

National Check Resolution Response

NCR is the current owner of the debt Ms. has with Sovereign Advance. Unfortunately, to verify the current owner of debt the chain of title must me tracked. The debt was not purchased directly from Sovereign Advance, so they would not have NCR listed as the company that the debt was originally sold to. This is why the chain of title needs to be tracked by the person that owes the debt.
I reviewed the notes on the file and did not see any request for the work number to be removed. I apologize that the number was not removed from her account. We tried to email the requested paperwork to the ***@gmail.com address, however the email was not delivered due to invalid address per gmail. The paperwork was then mailed.
This account is now closed in my office and Ms. will not be contacted by my office again. Please disregard the letter that was mailed, as the account is now closed.

THIS COMPANY IS A COMPLETE SCAM
After speaking to *** for 30 minutes I was told that I owed Advance.Cash $1153.25. I felt very uneasy when she refused to send me proof. She claimed that they did not have access to that. YET, they were able to provide my SSN and old addresses. After hearing that they knew my checking account number and previous employer name, I thought that they were legit. I gave them my credit card number. I was told that I would receive an email with everything in writing and I did not. I called the number that I was originally was given to call her on and it was "busy" all day (still is 24 hours later). I then called the number that she called me from (which happened to oddly be a Maryland number when they are in Georgia)and was able to get through to her after a person answered the phone as if it was a personal phone. She then emailed me a credit card authorization form to sign. The phone numbers on the form were completely different than what I had for them. It looked suspect so I began doing internet research to see negative reviews. I contacted the original debtor to find out that they were never given my account. They provided the info for the collections agency that had my account. I contacted them and they verified that NCR was indeed a scam. They have had several calls in the past few months of people in my same situation. I have emailed NCR telling them that I do NOT authorize them to charge my account. Should they do so, I will sue them. I have written information from both Advance.Cash as well as Midwest Fidelity (collections agency) that proves that I, in no way, am obligated to pay NCR because they do NOT have my account to legitimately collect money from me. This company needs to be shut down!!!

Desired Outcome

I want a guarantee that my card will NOT be charged at all, not even for a penny. I also wish for this company to lose my information and admit wrong doing.

National Check Resolution Response

NCR is in no way a scam. It was explained to Ms. (*** per the debt) in my email response to her email on 7/12/17 that she was given false information about the location of her debt. My client Rocky Mountain Capital Management purchased her debt and researching this situation with Advance.Cash. Debt can not be sold to more than one company at a time and it appears that her debt was sold to 2 companies in error. I provided Ms. with my clients name and phone number to contact them directly about this discrepancy of who owns her debt. I explained that her account was being closed and sent back to my client. I do see how this situation looks from her perspective, but Advance.Cash should not have sold her debt to two different companies. We do not have a Maryland number and I'm not sure what number that is, as we give out 800 numbers. The phone number on the form Ms. is referencing is our main company number that is provided on all paperwork.
This error does not make my company a scam. NCR is not the owner of the debt, as it was placed in our office by our client. As per my email confirmation on 7/12/17 her credit card will not be charged nor will she be contacted again by my company. Her file was closed and sent back to my client Rocky Mountain Capital Management on 7/12/17 to again, research how Ms. (***) account was sold to two different companies.

Harassing Phone calls that begin at 7:45 in the morning.
This company who claims to be Rocky Mountain Capital has now turned out to be National Check Resolution. They have harassed my family along with myself. They have now started to call my phone to harass me beginning at 7:45 in the morning than arguing that it is after 8am. I think I know my time zone and what time it is. He told be that he was based out of Phoenix, AZ but refuses to give me information of their office location address. They will not send me any written conformation of anything owed. I now have an attorney looking into the validity of all this. When I began to ask them questions, Settlement Director, *** got very agitated and hung up on me.

Desired Outcome

I want them to physically mail me information on what they are saying is owed if they are unable to do that they need to stop contact with me.

National Check Resolution Response

This complaint was filed against the wrong company. A file for Ms. was placed in my office by Rocky Mountain Capital Management in 2016, but the file was closed in my office on December 26 2016. My office has not tried to contact Ms. since mid December of 2016.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
That is totally untrue a person by the name of ***, who said he was with National Check Resolution called my phone at 7:45 am on the morning of July 3rd. He was rude and acted like it was a joke. I asked for proof of the claim against me and nothing was ever sent. He said he would email me something and I said that was unacceptable. Something needed to be physically mailed to me. They have also harassed my family members which has caused undue stress on me and them. To now deny that they contacted me is crazy. I also have saved the voice mail from the 3rd when he called at 7:45 am.

National Check Resolution Response

Ms. account has not been in the office of National Check Resolution since Dec 2016. My client Rocky Mountain Capital Management recalled the account from our office. Ms. will need to call Rocky Mountain Capital Management *** to resolve her issue, as we do not have her account in our office, nor do we have an employee named ***. I'm sorry, but she has the wrong company.

Received phone call from Unknown caller ID threatening to serve papers for a debt. Left the number *** with a file number to reference.
The name of the person on the original voice mail was*** (no last name). They called and left several messages on my cell phone and then called my sister's home phone and left the same threatening message. They also called my human resources group. The callback number they left was *** and reference case number FDA*** They said I had taken a payday loan and never paid it back. The date I called back- same as the date they called my sister- is 5/10/2017. The company they said I borrowed from is Bottom Dollar Payday, but that they don't care about the money. According the Michael (no last name would be given to me) the money Bottom Dollar paid me was from the National Bank of Delaware. I told them that I had once taken a loan from them but paid it. He wanted to know if I was prepared to take care of the loan or if they should proceed with legal action and serve papers at my home and workplace.

I asked for validation of the debt via mail, email or any other method. They said that they have been sending me notices for two years and they were done with that and they wanted payment immediately. I asked him to not be so rude and confrontational and he said he wasn't being that way. I told him that I would not give money to them as they would not provide documentation on the debt. I told him I would call Bottom Dollar and ask for validation. He said that Bottom Dollar and the bank do not want me to call because it is too late. They want their money or legal action will be taken.

I reminded him that debts are not a criminal offense and if I received any documentation for a legal debt, I would work with the company to resolve it. I believe I paid this debt off but I have no documentation to show that I had a debt or whether it was paid or not.

Desired Outcome

I would like proof of the debt which they did not provide. I would like them to stop contact me, my place of employment and any of my friends and family. If the debt is valid, I would like to work with a professional group that uses fair and legal practices and is not rude or threatening to me.

National Check Resolution Response

This complaint was filled under the wrong company. The phone number listed is not a phone number associated with NCR. My company has not contacted Ms. Woods, as she is not listed in our database.

On May 5, 2017, NCR called stating if I did not settle a debt with them from an old Payday Loan acct, I would be taking to court.
Received a call from NCR on May 5, 2017 threatening to take me to court if I did not settle with them on an old payday loan. They stated they sent out letters to my address informing me of this debt. They said this account was transferred to them and that they would need to get payment on my credit card. I then, requested for documentation of this debt.account to be mailed - they could only email. I never received an email from them and on today, the 9th, I got another call from the manager indicating that if I didn't call before 3pm, they would proceed with going to court or collecting the debt through my bank account. I called my Uncle who is a lawyer - he gave me the following instructions...1) Call NCR back and let them know that you are recording this conversation. 2)Retrieve the date and amount that was transferred to NCR. 3)Get the full name and address of the original creditor. 4) Get in writing on their company letter head, the agreement of what the original amount and account was/ the orignial acct no#/ and what they (NCR) will settle for. 5) Also, get a signature on the leeter of agreement from the authorized manager or representative of NCR. My lawyer also told me to call the payday loan company head office (corporation) to see who now holds/own my transferred/closed account. When I called they said that my account was not given to NCR and that they never inquired of a collections agency by that name - that they wrote it off as delinquent account. Everything that my lawyer asked me to do, I am going to do...and ask that all this information and documentation be provided to me and him before I give any bank/credit card information.

Desired Outcome

Requesting that NCR provide the needed/requested documentation, letter, information and records so that my lawyer can review them properly.

National Check Resolution Response

Ms. emailed my office the request per above on 5/9/17. A verification of debt was printed on 5/9/17 and will be mailed to her today. Per the FDCPA we are not required to provide many of the things that she is requesting. Many people use these types of requests as a stalling tactic to get out of paying their unpaid debts. Her unpaid Check Smart VA Loan was in fact sold to my company. First Virginia wrote off the debt internally to be sold since they were not able to collect the debt. If we do not hear back from Ms. we will simply close the account for being noncollectable.
