We had a bad experience with National Moving Group - we list the problems here as an alert to others so that they can avoid the problems we had: First, when National begins the sales pitch they misrepresent cost, time to delivery, customer service, and all of the activities covered by the paymentNational Moving does not have trucks of their own and they contact other movers after you sign with National and give a hefty deposit - greater than 1/of the total costthat price is likely to go up before pickupYou have no choice in who they choose to contract with - indeed they leave the information that they have no trucks out when they are contracting with youSo for example for our coast to coast move, they indicated that we would pay by weight: here was their conversation: "I am going to overestimate the weight so that if you add a few things you will still be covered, but then you can go to the weighing station with the truck - many of our military customers do because they want to see what they are paying for - after we get actual weight we will adjust the price."
None of that happened: They did not tells that the industry minimum for moving is lbsThey estimated our weight at lbsWe have yet to get the results of our weight, and National would not answer questions about whyNational also stated that the time of delivery was "on average to days." I asked "to the West Coast?" I was assured yes that was the average "barring any weather catastrophe." Well there was no weather catastropheIt took days with no word along the way of any progressIndeed, days after pickup we were told that our stuff had not been loaded on a truck! National also assured us that we could talk to the driver and see the routeagainThe movers they contracted with for our load was Excellent Choice MoversThey came in a box truck, argued about the cost, and then never called about progress of the moveWe checked in at days and were told the truck was days out : "Didn't anyone tell us?"
The National Moving Group's contract indicated that whatever the movers dissembled at pick up they would reassemble at delivery - wrong againThe contract with National Moving Group said the first flight of stairs was free and that a flight equalled stepsHowever, the Excellent Choice Movers define a flight as steps so on delivery we had to pay an extra $for our step flight of stairsNothing was reassembled
Customer service at National is nonexistentAfter we signed the contract and paid the money, front eh day of pion, we no longer could get in touch with our representative - who was to be our contactWhen I called customer service, they were not helpfulWe were essentially dumped after we paidThey answered no emails and would not put us in touch with supervisors
Through our experience, I have learned that moving companies who have their own trucks offer better serviceNational Moving Group sells a contract but cannot deliver because they contract with other companies who do not accept their termsNational tricked usWe are alerting you so that you are not a victim of artful selling with no substance There are many other companies to choose from

This has been the worst experienceWe discussed the terms of agreement with GregHe said that his company was not a broker and they were the direct moving companyCome to find out, they are a broker and the first $down payment goes directly to themHe also guaranteed us that our payment would not exceed a certain amount since our inventory checklist matched upOnce the movers looked through our items, which were the exact same on our inventory spreadsheet, our price was not guaranteed, which come to find out he does a lotSays that the price is guranteed without sending someone out to the place to take a lookGreg lied to us and was not forthcoming about his businessHe should be shut downIf you are looking for a moving company do not go through themHe is not honestHe also was very available to us before the movers got here, but once the movers arrived he disappeared and would not answer the phone or call us backThis is a terribly run and dishonest business

National Moving Group were absolutely wonderful! As busy as they are, they were there for us at the last minute to help us make our move into our new homeEveryone was especially friendly, caring and quick to do their jobThey were very careful about making sure all our belongings were handled with careWe were very pleased with their feesI would highly recommend National Moving Group to anyone!

Please trust when I say that this place is a joke and go with a reputable mover like Mayflower or UnitedIn the end you will end up paying the same and your items will be delivered, picked up and shipped in one piece with an accurate price from the beginning
I called back in April and received a quote of my stuff, I talked to *** and even emailed him our conversation to make sure I understood correctlyI was originally quoted $2k and at the time thoroughly explained what was comingItems in a 5xstorage unit, plus additional items from a bedroom aptInstead of listening to me, the customerHe severely underestimated my belongings and quantity of items so when the final inventory list was given the number of items was double (as I tried to explain to him in the beginning) when he kept telling me I was "overestimating" the quantity of items and their cubic feet and weight
I explained I would rather estimate high than be in a situation in months where the price doubled (as I've heard of that happening then people are stuck) he was so nice and helpful at the time and said "that doesn't happen with our company"Well low and behold, I've been calling for over two weeks to update the inventory and go over the final details and *** was supposed to call me backAfter two phone calls today I spoke with Todd who is a manager in the QA dept and guess what?!?
My 2k quote just came to over 8500k!! Surprise surpriseTodd knowing that I was upset told me how ***, who I originally spoke with was incorrect in telling me the cubic feet was the issue and it goes by weight and supposedly my stuff went from pounds to now over so my price QUADRUPLEDApparently some extra boxes, a few dressers and an air compressor weighs over pounds!!! Who knew?!?!
Meanwhile they have never come out to look at or estimate my items, I've done ALL the legwork and they've got over $1k from me I will never see
I called Mayflower and explained the situation and got ahold of a manager there that not only was extremely helpful and explained that these practices are common with "brokers" who basically steal your money and most of the time do not even deliver your goods on time or in one piece if you're lucky to receive them at all!! After looking at reviews online I am NOT the only one this has happened to and seems to happen frequently with this company! The reality is I could've called the company transporting my items directly and not even dealt with National who did nothing but steal over $from me basically
It's a $mistake on my part to learn, please don't make the same one as me and go with an honest and reputable company from the start, one like Mayflower who will come out from the start and give you an accurate estimate and not charge you a dime until your items are packed, shipped and unloaded safely at their destinationTHAT is how a REAL AND REPUTABLE moving company is SUPPOSED to work!
Now I have to fly across country at the last minute, take time off of work and haul my own items across country with U-Haul because of all thisNot to mention I work nights and have spent ALL day on the phone scrambling to make it come together at the last minuteMeanwhile those who have stolen over $from me can only say "I know you are upset over your price more than doubling but respectfully maam, you doubled your items." So moral of the story is explaining to their estimator what I had and him underestimating to give me a low ball price which caused my items to doubleQuadrupled my final price

National Moving Group has various departmentsYour point of contact will change throughout the experienceSadly, their sales team is looking for sales onlyMy experiences is that they will offer you reassurances and services that run contradictory to the fine print in their agreementsThe date of pickup carries a hour period on their estimates; however, there is no obligation for them to meet your date of pickupWe've waited days after the hour window given, only to find out we must wait moreNMG is unprofessional in their call center, their management lacks oversight of the process and their employeesWe will never use them again

I went on line to seek a moving company and National was the first to contact me *** wwas my contact and he was very nice until he got his deposit and then he basically forgot who I wasI also talked to *** *** who I thought was ***'s boss and had no better resultsBoth told me lie after lie about dates of pickup and delivery and I had to pay an additional for expedited deliveryThis company is one of the worst that I have been associated withNeeds to be investigated and closed down because of the way they mislead people

This is by far and away to most horrific experience My family could have hadWe paid them to come and pack our things and move them cross countryKnowing this we still packed % of our itemThey showed up and didn't lift a finger so we were left in shambles to packWe needed up paying four times the costWhen our stuff arrived to our new home Otha's broke with over $30,dollars worth of stuff missing and never foundThat being saidI wish I had just paid for an expensive and reliable moving companyDo not use these peopleAlso....they don't give a lick about your stuff going missingIt's pretty amazing how much they don't care on the phoneDO NOT USE THEM!

Do Not Use This CompanyThey low ball you on the quote, then when the mover comes, big surprise on the priceOur mover didn't send a truck that is big enough had to come second time, this broker charged us twice the brokerage feeThe moving company they send wants the whole amount, so we got charged twiceWe have waited for days from the pick up, nothing was received, the mover would not call back or answerBroker keep saying it will be here next week, all the estimated dates they gave have past, we had no idea where our stuff isBad Bad serviceTheir customer service will yell at usDo not use them

This was absolutely the worst move ever National is only a broker and while they claim to have their own trucks, I never saw one They are very good on the sale side, contacting you, following up and making all kinds of promises I booked thru them including $extra for a defined 3-day delivery window with a flexible pickup window Later they advised they booked with one of their best movers, Royal Moving & Storage from Dallas to do the delivery Royal picked up on the 9th of December and later called to ask if I could accept delivery days earlier than stated in the contract, as a truck was going to Denver I said no because the house did not close until the 16th and I booked a defined delivery date of the 16th - 18th They said OK and I heard nothing more On Friday the 16th, when I had not heard from them I called Royal who said the driver told them the "truck broke down" but would be fixed and leaving Dallas on Saturday the 18th and should make it by Sunday Long story short,Royal subcontracted out the delivery to a Russian company ITX and its Russian driver Thus commenced a series of calls to National and Royal logistics, each of which claimed this was their driver but neither of which could tell me where my goods were Finally I got the drivers number and started calling him and asked who he worked for...the answer was evasive Finally after promising delivery on Wednesday the 21st as he was only miles away and had a small load to drop, would be here by pm Just before pm the driver called and admitted he had no helpers to drop the small load and it took longer because it was stories, so would not make it that day He also said that his company re-routed him to make a pickup and delivery during transit After days of talks with Royal and National, Royal agreed they would refund the $delivery date fee and I told them no way, I would deduct it from the final payment to which they agreed So I took the Cashiers check back to the bank to deduct the $and get a money order for the balance because Royal would not accept a Cashiers Check However, they did not clear it with their subcontractor and it was a big mess when the driver finally arrived on the 22nd hiring helpers off Craigslist to move the stuff in Unfortunately ITX would not accept a bank money order, now the 2x I had to change method of payment as I was not giving cash So I had to set up quickpay and transfer the money to the ITX account before the movers would start to unload
The goods were intermixed with other loads, boxes marked fragile were crushed, goods were broken, and the driver had no idea where all my stuff was located on the truck Large picture boxes marked fragile were laying at a degree angle with other boxes on top, and I still have not located at least one box The driver would bring boxes in clearly marked for the correct room and just drop them...large wardrobe boxes in the dining room...but the guys hired moved them for me The re-staging of the furniture was abysmal as legs were not properly screwed back on, and the legs of stacked chairs are broken I am still going through and trying to get everything put back together that I can
I'm now trying to do an insurance claim and am getting no response from the ever helpful sales guy Never use any of these movers

Amazing experienceMy move started in Washington and received my stuff in Florida within the exact window they told meThe first person who called me was TomThis coordinator was completely upfront and transparent about every single aspect of the move I know now, after terrible moves with other companies, that going for the lowest quote is not a good ideaThe entire company explained to me about how to receive quotes, how to pack specific items, and they even gave me time stamped weight tickets from a state official that showed me exactly how much weight I was movingThe best thing about this was the weight was much lower than estimated at, so my price dropped $957!!!! This carrier is amazingBest moving experience I have ever hadThey were a couple hundred dollars extra than other companies, but the driver told me that his crew gets around $an hourMost companies pay $an hourTom explained to me, that by paying the drivers what they are worth, you get a better experience all aroundMy initial thought was, I need a service, so I am going to shop by the best priceThey explained to me that moving companies prey on people who shop by priceMy previous moves I took the lowest quote and was charged DOUBLE on move day plus I had to pay for my tv and glass table top to be wrapped and packed. The drivers were rude and my things were damaagedNow I understand that by using a little more expensive company, that explains how to pack things, and quotes by weight is a better betThey pay the drivers more and by basing the price on weight, the whole process becomes verifiableThe entire process and the entire team at National Moving Group, was professionalized from start to finishI never knew a move could be stress freeAmazed

Buyer BEWARE! I am on day 31 since my belongings have been picked up. No response from management or anyone at the moving office. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! BEWARE! They can't even bother to call you back. They have lost my items and can't even call the customer to update them on progress. DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY

Ordered a moving truck 9/24/16. They came to pick up my things on 9/26/16 which I am not complaining about. Have been trying to get ahold of someone since 10/08/16 and no one can seem to tell me where my dang truck is! Today is October 12th, 2016, it is a Jewish holiday and apparently the dispatcher for my job is unavailable due to his observation of this holiday. It's like excuse after another with this company or transfer of a call to someone else telling me whT the previous 2 people said.....No one can tell me where the truck is with my stuff. The lady told me the truck could get here 6-12 days. It's been 16.

I trusted these people to do what we were told they would do BAD CHOICE. It is now going on 6 months and we still don't have all our things. We have been lied to countless times . They put us with a moving company that is now under investigation and I'm assured will be shut down .Don't trust them.

Excellent service! Move was done in a very professional, efficient and expedient manner. Still am amazed and wondering how they managed to get it all in a small storage locker in the interim. Move was done in less time than what was quoted. Well done! Will use again and recommending to everyone!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They brokered my move out to 8 Mile Moving and Storage company which has nothing but terrible reviews on Google and an F rating with the Revdex.com. Had I known National was brokering my move with 8 Mile Moving Company, I would've taken my business somewhere else.

When my belongings arrived in Austin, several of my brand new boxes were crushed and broken open. Even boxes labeled "fragile" were crushed. My vanity didn't arrive and has not arrived to this day (almost four months later).

While I liked the employees personally, I felt they weren't very professional. My washer was less than 2 years old and it arrived broken on the inside. 8 Mile would only give me .60 per pound which was around $90. It took almost $400 to replace it.

After I unpacked all my belongings, I realized an entire box that contained my intimate items (bras, underwear and socks) were missing.

I have been going round and round with 8 Mile Moving Company and National Moving Co. to resolve this issue. My vanity has still yet to arrive four months later.

I would never trust National again to broker my move again. It's been a terrible experience and I would've been better off moving my things myself.

I have moved multiple times inthe last 10 years. Far and aay, using this group was the worst experience ever. I have pages of notes of everything that went wrong, including timeliness, movers sleeping in my house, didn't have moving tools (no dolly - had to borrow mine, knife cutter to open boxes, etc), lots of damaged goods, inability to get a weight verification on my load (know I was overcharged), lack of follow through over and over, and on and on. They sound very nice when they get on the phone. Once they have their payments, they are history. They hooked me up with a mover in NJ (Most Valuable Movers) who were equally to blame for this disasterous service. I amd still finding damages as I unpack. They are untrustworthy gorillas. Do not go through this broker!!!!!

When I was looking for A mover from ct I went online first, I received so many phone calls I remember speaking to Anthony from National Moving he was very nice and explained everything about how the move would go. The guys showed up on time and moved my stuff it took 6 hours but I understood moving stinks. I am happy it is over with. National moving is a good company dont be hesitant because of a few bad reviews, they did a good job for me.

Whenever I need to move again, I will always first choose National Moving Group (NMG) because of their timeliness, reasonable prices and unparalleled customer service. My job required me to move from South Carolina to Georgia in a matter of two weeks and the only way I was only to make that successful transition happen was because of the representatives at NMG. I researched other moving companies in the area for quotes, but they took days to follow-up with me, weren't polite, and had extremely high prices. When I reached out to NMG via their website, a representative called back in less than 3 minutes to follow-up with my request. I spoke with Erick S from NMG, and after I told him where I was moving and my inventory list, he quoted me at half the price that other companies had. During that same call, Erick provided me with extensive details about the next steps in order to move forward: the three payments, who would be in charge of the different steps of my move and what I could expect on moving day. He also was consistently available to answer all of the questions that I had throughout the process. Four days before my move, Alyssa, another NMG rep called me to confirm my inventory list, give me my pick-up date and time information and answer my lingering questions. Two days before my move, I spoke with the driver in charge of my move, Jeff from Source 1. He called to confirm the time he would be coming for pick-up. On the day of move-in, Jeff called me an hour before he arrived at my apartment. His team of five movers came on time and had everything moved out of my place in less than an hour. Even though it was after their 7pm "business hours", they drove that same night to get my items to my new (3rd floor) apartment safely, with no scratches, no dents and no breaks. The gentlemen were polite, efficient and timely. After my move was complete, the next day, the rep from NMG called back to follow-up on how the process went. Knowing that there was someone to walk me through this entire transition helped to relieve some of the stressors that I anticipated and for that I am truly grateful.

National moving did such a great job with my move from Georgia to Florida I just had to write this review. The person who I spoke to was Brandon we set up my move in literally 30 minutes. Before I knew it a week had gone by and my pick up date was approaching. What a good choice I made the driver Jeff from source one was the best mover I have ever seen.

When I called National Moving Group I was led to believe that they are an actual mover when in fact they are moving brokers. I called back the next week to confirm the pick up date and the customer service rep. that I was dealing with was suddenly gone, and the new guy I spoke with had never heard of him. I was also told my move would take 7-10 business days from pick up to delivery...it was in fact 6 weeks before I received my items. Some were broken, some were lost, some had water damage, and some boxes had roaches on them. The carrier that they had move my things, Most Valuable Movers, arrived 8 hours late for pick up, demanded a tip and told me lie upon lie about my delivery date during the 6 weeks. DO NOT use them!!
