National Theft Search & Recovery Reviews (66)

My yr old father and I, 41, brought a new carAbout weekso later this company sent me this letter, just about convinced my dad or myself had an agreement with them that was expiringIt's a good thing my father has a good memory and we communicate continously, or I probably would have assumed he got this serviceIt's definitely not nessary for us to have this serviceButt what's really irritating is the fact that the way they imply that you're already affiliated with them in some way so they have an automatic ability to communicate there sales, offers, savings or whateverThis is a form of sneaky intrusiveness!! The crazy thing is they continue to do it even though every person who has decided to write a comment about the company has been negativeHas something to say about what kind of service they're going to provide and the kind of morals practiced in the businessDefinitely not a nice way to offer a service to a prospective customer

I just received NTSRD "Immediate Response To This Notice Requested" mailing and I agree with all other reviews (there are negative and positive as I write this) This business' tactic is highly deceiving The Notice states "We hope you have enjoyed your vehicle so far You have not yet contacted us to receive your anti-theft protection DNA Label and Decals Without an active DNA Decal...." etc Moreover the notice calls itself "Anti-Theft Tracking Expiration Notice", suggesting there is an anti-theft device built into the new car I bought, the coverage from which needs to be renewed The notice shows my make, model and year of the car I just bought and it is only logical to assume whatever this anti-theft tracking is, came with the vehicle There is a problem with this website's security certificate or I may have pursued this a bit further and maybe fell for their scam Deceptive Total deceptive

I also received this offer shortly after buying a new vehicleI'd like to know where they steal my information and why they don't get a real job and make an honest living rather than ripping off people that think everyone is honest

Utterly disgraceful mail tacticThe way they format their mail so soon after you purchase a car is to make you think it's related to something you bought with the carprotections, LoJack, etcIt says, "You have not yet contacted us to receive your anti-theft protection DNA Laberls and Decals." The way that is phrased ("You have not yet') is implying you WERE SUPPOSED to contact themThat is deceitful and someone should clamp down on themIt would be easy for someone to fear that they were supposed to register and missed that in the reams of documents one signs buying a car and protections/warranties If this business was aboveboard and legit, they would not have to use this deceptive and misleading type of mailer This company using this tactic is, imo, unethical and should be ashamedI frankly hope they get sued for thisThis should not be allowedIt's like a car- chaser con jobA pox upon their business and may rust eat up their carsDisgraceful I urge you to stay away from themSTAY AWAYA decal won't stop a thiefTrust me, they probably already know this is an iffy businessGet LoJackThey don't use decals anymoreThey know better

My comment is directed only to the reviews I have read here Those reviews have clearly supported my earlier skepticism about the notice I received in the mail This company may be perfectly legitimate However, the notice had an odor I did not care for Moreover, the only hit I had online was with the Revdex.com hardly a ringing endorsement of an up and coming company Kudos to Revdex.com I found the site to be very useful

Received the notice today - our car is less than than months oldIt has all the earmarks of which to beware I never purchase anything that is marketed in a deceiving way The form is already in the recycling bin

First, THANK YOU Revdex.com for making this site available! At first I thought this notice was something generated through the dealership or manufacturer of my vehicle then I read the very, very small print and realized this was some obscure direct mail that I received through some marketing company - ugghhhhhh! Very deceptive because this mailer does not mention the additional fees this company charges to use their system I'll pass Ridiculous how everyone has to be so vigilant in their own detective work but grateful for this tool on the Revdex.com Site - Have a blessed day everyone!

National Theft Search & Recovery solicitationI was suspicious of this letter so did a websearch and came to this site, To me the bottom line is that nowhere in the letter does it say how much this is going to costI agree that the waiver of the $fee is meaninglessOnly when the operators of this operation attempted to justify the solicitation on this site did they first mention there is a $per year feeFailure to disclose any fee is the solicitation is they last nail in the coffin as far as I'm concerned

Today I received a very official looking piece of mailWhere the return address is normally found was" NTSR", second line "FORM: GML-470" third line: "ANTI-THEFT EXPIRATION NOTICE"Below that "2016" in a box with in white with a black background and in black with a white backgroundBelow that TOYOTAIn the middle of the mailer is a bar code with the words "IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE REQUESTED" immediately beneathThen, of course, my mailing address Inside a 1-844-638-Extphone number, a PIN#: GVand a notice date of 9/9/( today is 9/13/2016) and an expiration date of 9/19/I've already lost days by the time I opened the mailer They go on to explain that my new car has not been registered to the National Theft Search and Recovery DatabaseI am to call the phone number to register to receive my anti-theft Police Traceable Labels and DecalsThen I am told I am leaving my vehicle "AT RISK" of not being recovered if stolenThen I am told they will waive the $fee the decals cost when I register before the expiration dateNo further fees are mentionedAll the foregoing would lead someone to believe they are just renewing an expiring service for free if done before the expiration date Upon further research, I find they also want extra feesA, one time, $registration fee plus an annual $maintenance fee Finally, I had to get my magnifying glass to read the fine print paragraph at the bottom of the pageThis is the first I learned "this is an advertisement for anti-theft deterrent" I have always made a living without deceiving peopleHow can "outfits" like this operate with impunity?

I too received an official mailer, requiring immediate response, as a result of my recent new car purchaseMy friend looked it over and said to be careful, that it might be free the first year, but following years could be priceyWhen I started the registration process, to my surprise (not) it wanted my credit card information and an upfront fee of $ Whoa! The flier said nothing about that, only that I would avoid a $fee if registered by their deadlineScam? Probably not But worth the suspicion and worry that I just gave away my credit card number to be pinged annually and who knows what else? No Been there, done that, and bought the t-shirt

This "NTSR" is a bunch of bull people do not do it You already have a number that law enforcement uses to track your vehicle in the event it is stolen, it is called your vehicle VIN We have a National Data Base that all stolen vehicles are entered into, it is the "NCIC" nation wideSo every time an officer or a license plate scanner scan your license plate it will alert the officer if your vehicle has been reported stolen You want to spend money on anti theft device, go LOJACK, 100% recovery

This has the appearance of a marketing ploy perpetuated upon car buyers by auto dealers and the National Theft Search and Recovery entityLike others receiving this marketing mail, I too, received the National Theft Search and Recovery (NTSR) notice after the purchase of a new carDespite claims that NTSR and the auto dealers are not in this together, I am convinced otherwise I suggest that others check their bills of sale from the dealership for a $charge hidden amongst the taxes, doc fees and other items contributing to the cost of the vehicleWhile negotiating the price of my new car, I discovered a line item listed as "THEFT GUARD"Interestingly, the price of this item was $(the same fee that was being "waived" in the "THEFT SEARCH and RECOVERY" mailing)Very curious coincidence indeed When I asked the sales staff what "THEFT GUARD" was, I received vague references about vehicle "etchings" that was supposed to provide theft deterrence and/or theft recoveryI was given no brochures, paraphernalia or other paperwork that would provide insight into the "product" Perturbed that the dealer would add a cost item to the car without asking me first, I demanded that the "THEFT GUARD" line item be removed from the price of the carAfter some resistance, the dealer did remove it Had I not noticed and disputed it, the dealer would have gained $of pure profitAnd the only thing I would have bought was my way into the records of NTSRWith the benefit of hindsight (and some deductive reasoning), I believe NTSR and the dealers have a relationship, disguised or not, and that the dealer somehow relayed my information to NTSR whether I paid for that "product" or not Check your bill of sale for a $charge and find out what you bought with that moneyI'll be tossing the National Theft Search and Recovery's "advertisement for anti-theft deterrent" mailer in the shredder

Im a veteran of the United States ArmyUpon seeing your correspondence and the eye catching Bald Eagle stamp I agree with all the reviews in this forum as they are all negativeI see through your trick and deceitfulnessadvertisment stems exactly from your mailerANTI THEFT EXPIRATION NOTICEYour company was not affiliated with zero of our purchases of new cars regardless of locationNPI and HIPA laws are there for our protection however they can be compromisedI nor has anyone else in the forums I read ever had a binding contract for your fictional EXPIRATION NOTICE as such an agreement was obviously never executed or consummatedAn EXPIRATION NOTICE implies we have a binding contract with said Comany NTSRI copied this response and forum to the Revdex.com and FACEBOOK

SCAM!!!! I too bought a new vehicle and received this notice a month afterGlad I researched it and found nothing but bad reviews on Revdex.com

The correspondence arrived in yesterday's mail The company name is vague, and there is no street address At the same time, there are several demands that are made in bold, enlarged capital letters: IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE REQUESTED Registration is REQUIRED ANTI-THEFT TRACKING EXPIRATION NOTICE ANTI-THEFT EXPIRATION NOTICE There are specific references to the vehicle I just purchased The message is falsely presented as a follto that transaction There is no reference to an "opportunity," an "offer," an "available service," or any other terms commonly found in a solicitation Rather, the message is presented as a warning to the recipient that a previously agreed upon transaction must be completed before a rapidly approaching deadline As I did avail myself of a similar service from another source offered by the dealer, the confusion and uncertainty caused by this "official looking" document was particularly disturbing The $fee waiver is a ruse that is old and tired They could just as easily waive a $1,or even a $1,000,fee A waived fee has absolutely no value What are you asking me to PAY for this service? A couple of stickers and a database entry are worth $- tops This solicitation is an unpolished, unrefined attempt to deceive

I called my local law enforcement agency's non-emergency number and asked them about a NTSR letter that I recieved in the mailAnd the desk office, after having me read the letter to him, immediately said that it was a scam

I received a mailer a few weeks after buying a new car"IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE REQUESTED" on the front of the mailer, as well as "ANTI-THEFT EXPIRATION NOTICE" "FORM: GML-470"These terms are obviously scare tactics used to try to pressure you into not "thinking" about their service and just acting on it in their quick timelines, essentially, trying to trick youThis is no different than a car salesman saying that the deal ends that day and he can't guarantee that price to you if you don't act fast, etcThis company also uses (at least on mine) an eagle stamp, etcfurther trying to "enforce" the idea that it's a government sanctioned businessI opened it anyway, and to my surprise, the deadline expires the very next day, as well as seeing that their website is in fact, not a ".gov"Â It also says my car has no tracking, another lieFirst lines state, "we hope you have been enjoying your new vehicle so farPlease go online to register" blah blah, again, making it seem that this service "comes" with your carHonestly, this could be a great service, I have no ideaHowever, this mailer instantly turned me away from their service and screams "SCAM"Just avoid it, if you really want to get a service like this, do your own research and ignore any of these SCAM/high-pressure type mailersThere is no time limit to get these servicesyour car can be years old and you can still receive tracking servicesjust discard this mailer as soon as you get it, it's not a dealjust another poor sales tactic trying to prey on the uninformed.Â

I received in the mail a very official looking piece on which was printed IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE REQUESTED It listed the new car I just purchased, gave a "Form" number and said ANTI-THEFT EXPIRATION NOTICE That was all on the OUTSIDE of the piece Of course I opened it thinking this was something from the dealership or the actual car manufacturer I read the whole thing EXCEPT the tiniest print at the bottom of the notice and got right on the phone to get this handled As I was on hold because I called the number listed inside I DID read the tiniest print at the bottom of the notice and it says: You may have been selected to receive this special limited time offer from National Theft Search and Recovery because of information in your public record consumer auto data file National Theft Search and Recovery Database is NOT affiliated with any dealership, and works with Law Enforcement Agencies to assist in contacting the rightful owner of stolen vehicles that have been recovered This is an advertisement for anti-theft deterrent National Theft Search and Recovery, *** ** *** Park *** Suite *** *** *** **
Needless to say, I hung up before someone hooked me into this "offer" under the guise of an official registration required by my dealership, car manufacturer or Law Enforcement Wow...you guys are PREDATORY This is not someone looking at public records and using them as business leads in a traditional cold call, upfront way...your piece is designed to TRICK people

Very misleading letter today from National Theft Search and RecoveryThey get basic information from the auto tax office or registration departments and send these letters implying that without their service police will not be able to search an auto theft databaseWhen in fact the database that is mentioned is this company's customer database

I Just received an official looking mailer from Chrysler, but the mailer was actually from a new company from Boca Raton FloridaThis type of ploy to lour customers should be considered unethical and dilutes the importance when a REAL official mailers arrive, such as DMV and Voter informationI was born at night but not last night, NTSR, you will never get my business!!!
