National Theft Search & Recovery Reviews (66)

I received a letter from this company The letter was very vague and misleading I called the company to see if there was any fees, involved with the service The operator was not forth coming with any information After I questioned him about the letter, he hung up on me I agree with all of the other reviews The letter is a scare tactic to get money out of unsuspecting car owners, especially new car owners

I don't know why I got this if my car already has anti thief service for the first years which was purchase at the dealer shipI never requested info about their service so how they got my info?! Fishy very Fishy why do they as billing info if it's a ".org" website last I knew .org websites are non profit

NTS&R Rep:
Rather than using this Revdex.com forum to try & put a positive spin on your BS service, why not give us statistics on how many cars your service actually put back in the hands of their rightful owners in the same condition before they were stolen
There's lots of ways to permanently ID a vehicle, which is all your service does The real trick is to recover the vehicle before any damage is done to it, something your service can't do anything about
Like many others that have provided negative reviews, we're all complaining about the same thingsThe way you try & make the letter look official, the number of days left warning and the BS $savings are all classic 'prey on the non-suspecting' marketing tactics
Face it, if it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck and walks like a duck, then it's probably a duckSame can be said about your serviceHowever, I don't mean to insult ducks as they have more integrity than NTS&R

Complete scam Using Vigilant system Piggybacking on their infrastructure Really trying to screw you by saying "Expiring" You never had it Don't give them a dime!!

Add me to the list of dissatisfied "marks." They make it sound like the service I purchased with the car, but it is notThey make it sound free, because they wiave the fee for the decal cost (of course you presume that the $fee being waived is the entire cost, because the decals clearly cant be$399, right?) WrongThey never mention that there is a"registration fee" $in the letter, and annual monitoring fees This is a waste, and if this was alegitimate service it wouldn't nned to use misleading mailer tactics Toss this mailer

I bought a new car one month ago and received the same letter as other reviewers did
I am not sure how effective the service is but the "ANTI-THEFT EXPIRATION NOTICE" on the cover of the letter and "ANTI-THEFT TRACKING EXPIRATION NOTICE" in the middle of the letter are misleadingWho provides the protection in the first place when I bought the new car? This is first time I have heard there is a anti-theft protection when you buy a new car which is totally non sense
Personally, I believe NTSRD uses fear to scare consumers to buy their services
The dealer and its finance affiliate are the most possible suspects sharing my information with NTSRD.orgIt is "common" practice to buy/sell consumer information among companies if consumers didn't opt outSometimes, before your opt out was put into its database, they already sold your contact info to other companies

I received a letter from the "National Theft Search & Recovery" with a highly deceptive message that I "have not yet contacted" them to receive their product, and that without their special DNA Decal, law enforcement would not be able to recover my vehicle in the event that it is stolen This company is attempting to exploit unsuspecting new vehicle owners by masquerading as a requirement from some "authoritative source." The letter arrived in a special security envelope with tear-tabs The letter had "REQUIRED" in bold, information about my vehicle, and an expiration date within two weeks upon receiving the letter The letter was aggressive in nature in it's attempt at pressuring me to make a sale for a decal that would not deter vehicle thief
This company needs to be stopped because they are attempting to prey on unsuspecting new vehicle purchasers
IF YOU HAVE RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THIS COMPANY THEN PLEASE KEEP YOUR LETTER AS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IS POSSIBLE

Shame on this company for using scare tactics to try and sell a BS product Who cares what police can get to "your data base" My OnStar will track it faster and talk to any law enforcement for me And gives me an app to do more than what you want me to pay for! Sheesh, how many people have fallen for this deceptive practice? You seriously need to stop your scare tactic advertisements and lose my address, my vehicle information and anything else you may have about me or my new truck Is there a "do not mail advertisements" registry? I want in Apparently the "do not call" registry isn't enough!

Purchased my car in July and received the NTSR notice a few weeks later Yep, scare tactic with its language and nothing to say how this notice got started It is just a sales scam to get your to pay $plus $25! each year
I actually called to find out more and the person who answered told me they are not associated with dealers and they get names from people registering new vehicles
I ripped it up and tossed it in the bin

SCAM!!!! Nope out of this as fast as possible if you receive one of their "letters" in the mailThey represent themselves as if they are a government entity requiring that you register your vehicleOut side of the vague wording and conveniently not mentioning the $initial registration fee, it is not a .gov websiteThe way they word the document my initial thought was it had something to do with state registrationFALSE!!! It is not and has nothing to do with any government entity

By way of the mailer sent to me it sounded like the fee for service was waivedI thought it was done through the dealer where I bought the carCome to find out that I had to pay another fee for registration which was not mentioned in the mailerDeceptive as far as I am concerned

I received the letter yesterday As soon as I opened it, I was skeptical I came to this site to see if there were any reviews I've seen what I need to know I didn't trust this the moment that I opened it It had scam all over it!!!!! Thanks everybody

Stickers that melt and become part of the DNA of my car? HA!! Is DNA the same as paint? What a scamWhy would I sign up for something so uselessYou are basically paying for stickersHurry up and buy! Time is running out to get in the data baseYea rightAnyone who is stupid enough to give this company money deserves to get ripped off for being so stupid and naiveAnd this company is based out of Florida - identity theft capital of the worldSorry NTSRDYour days of being in business are overYou'll save more money by closing shopTake your GML-form and shove them up your oranges

I too received this letter. While this company may offer a legitimate service, their advertisement is EXTREMELY DECEIVING and INTIMIDATING!!! That is a very bad way to run a business, and a very good way to run off customers. SHAME ON YOU

While your product may be good, your scare tactic marketing scam is not. I am not "Required" to respond to any company who doesn't represent the government, and the response your company wrote is despicable. Shame on you for wasting good citizen's time and money who are trying to support the local police and government.

If you promoted this like LoJack, it's likely your company would be more successful. Good thing the internet and other intelligent caring citizens have learned by now to look for tell tale signs a fraudulent marketing campaigns when they see them.

I just received NTSRD "Immediate Response To This Notice Requested" mailing and I agree with all other reviews (there are 14 negative and 0 positive as I write this). This business' tactic is highly deceiving. The Notice states "We hope you have enjoyed your vehicle so far. You have not yet contacted us to receive your anti-theft protection DNA Label and Decals. Without an active DNA Decal...." etc. Moreover the notice calls itself "Anti-Theft Tracking Expiration Notice", suggesting there is an anti-theft device built into the new car I bought, the coverage from which needs to be renewed. The notice shows my make, model and year of the car I just bought and it is only logical to assume whatever this anti-theft tracking is, came with the vehicle. There is a problem with this website's security certificate or I may have pursued this a bit further and maybe fell for their scam. Deceptive. Total deceptive.

I received in the US mail a letter from NTSR with vehicle information about my recent purchase of a new car. I was given a PIN number which assisted the client service agent to pull up my information, and let her look into my file. She explained there was a waived registration fee of $399, but in order to complete my membership, she would need an additional sum of $129, plus an annual renewal fee of $20.

Any service provided by this company is dubious, as the department of motor vehicles already has owner information on file. I plan to report this company to the Attorney General's office for the state of Florida for further investigation.

My 70 yr old father and I, 41, brought a new car. About 7 weekso later this company sent me this letter, just about convinced my dad or myself had an agreement with them that was expiring. It's a good thing my father has a good memory and we communicate continously, or I probably would have assumed he got this service. It's definitely not nessary for us to have this service. Butt what's really irritating is the fact that the way they imply that you're already affiliated with them in some way so they have an automatic ability to communicate there sales, offers, savings or whatever. This is a form of sneaky intrusiveness!! The crazy thing is they continue to do it even though every person who has decided to write a comment about the company has been negative. Has something to say about what kind of service they're going to provide and the kind of morals practiced in the business. Definitely not a nice way to offer a service to a prospective customer.

National Theft Search & Recovery solicitation. I was suspicious of this letter so did a websearch and came to this site, To me the bottom line is that nowhere in the letter does it say how much this is going to cost. I agree that the waiver of the $399 fee is meaningless. Only when the operators of this operation attempted to justify the solicitation on this site did they first mention there is a $5 per year fee. Failure to disclose any fee is the solicitation is they last nail in the coffin as far as I'm concerned.

First, THANK YOU Revdex.com for making this site available! At first I thought this notice was something generated through the dealership or manufacturer of my vehicle ... then I read the very, very small print and realized this was some obscure direct mail that I received through some marketing company - ugghhhhhh!
Very deceptive ... because this mailer does not mention the additional fees this company charges to use their system ...
I'll pass
Ridiculous how everyone has to be so vigilant in their own detective work but grateful for this tool on the Revdex.com Site -
Have a blessed day everyone!
