Horrible Customer Service
Ive had horrible experiences with Navient. They not only have harassed me to where Ive had to block their numbers, but the reps speak to you as though you are their peasant. One woman called to advise me I was behind on my private loans. I told her I am aware and I made an effort and paid half. She had the nerve to ask me if I would pay half my mortgage. If it were a choice between my mortgage and student loans, Id pay my mortgage first! I had another woman just today call me to tell me I was 88$ behind on my private loans. I told her it was a little early for her to be calling. She said its ten after 8 (am) its not early at all. Than I told her if she would look at her records all my student loans are on hold due to ED review. She continued to be nasty while she looked into it and I ended the call. I pray this company is put an end to. Im sorry if the understandably nice people will be put out of jobs but this is not a way to run a business. Our livelyhood and those of our families are more important and we should not be made to feel guilty for providing for them over paying their student loans!

I just called to let this rotten fake company that steals all of your money. (NOT MINE) I have been paying my student loan to the US Dept of Education and have been for a while yet they still bug me and send a letter to threaten wage garnishment, etc. So I'm trying to tell this thing on the phone that I'm paying already and she still says, "now there's a way to pay...…" dah? I said "YOU ARE NOT LISTENING TO ME!" and hung up. I see all this BULL that people are stealing money from loans and they are SHAMEFUL! There should be a way to do something about this company!

At first, six months, Navient seemed legit...one month I paid extra to one of 5 loans and it went to all loans and increased monthly payment! No notice! I called to find out the issue and got a person who did nothing but stall, tell me to hang on, went over the first payment with no telling me what for and I hung up!
These guys own you! They report every payment and recalculated my loans due to the extra payment! I am outraged that this is allowed for student loans that a flat rate gets altered by a company whose business is to keep stable relations across the board. They have my debt but it still goes to the Federal government, not Navient to play games with!

Naivent has set me up on a payment plan with the Rate Reduction program and the payments have been automatically deducted from my checking account since June 2017 as set up with the organization. I was told that if I did not enroll that they would report my non-payments to my credit bureaus. While checking my credit score in January 2018, it was found that Navient had been reporting the account delinquent still, even though I'd been making the agreed upon payments. It doesn't make sense to me for me to enroll in the program to save my credit report yet I still receive delinquent reporting. I have both spoke with a representative with Navient and will send in a letter to

Credit Bureau Dispute Department
PO Box 9500
Wilkesbarre PA 18773-9500

as instructed by the customer rep.

Desired Settlement: I would like to have the previous delinquency status (was reported up to 150+ days delinquent) removed from my records considering I have been faithful with my payments under Navient's Rate Reduction Program.

Review: My fiance and I both have student loans through Navient. I have been able to apply and getting my student loans on the income based repayment schedule. We have been trying for over 6 months to get his on the income based reschedule payment. We have sent in the letter four times and paystubs on four different occasions. They said each time that they are unable to determine the frequency he gets paid. We write on their every single time he gets paid every two weeks and we send in two checks so they can obviously see the date on them. Now, we just received a letter stating that we have requested to cancel the income based repayment schedule. What? Not at all. I called on his account today and I have been magically taken off his account and they have "no record of me being on it." I just called Monday and talked about his account. This is a nightmare. And absolute nightmare. Then on top of that it takes ten days to process any request while the interest just sits and ticks higher and higher.Desired Settlement: I want the income based repayment schedule to be accepted and not be told that I have to wait to hear any answer. These are destroying our life. We can't get a mortgage, we can't get any type of loan because of these students loans.

A representative from the Office of Customer

Advocate contacted the customer by telephone on August 6, 2015 and resolved the

issue with the customer.

Review: I am enrolled in Navient's Rate Reduction Program. Every single month for over two years my payment has been allocated incorrectly between my nine loans. After the money is withdrawn by Navient from my checking account and incorrectly allocated, I begin getting phone calls and emails saying that I have missed a payment and must take action immediately. Every month I have to take time out of my work day to leave my office and call Navient to attempt to resolve the problem. Every month I get a different person on the phone who gives me a different explanation as to why my payment has been misallocated for THAT month. Every month I explain to them that this has been happening for over two years and every month I get a different explanation as to why it is happening. There typical response is, "Well I have figured out the problem and I have resolved it, so it will not happen anymore". I get this general statement every month. And every month, I have the same problem again.

When I call, they do supposedly re-allocate the money to the correct loans while I am on the phone. I say supposedly because I literally have no way of cross checking what they have done. The only means to cross check would be my monthly statement, but every month my statement shows the payment misallocated. I have been paying these loans on the Rate Reduction Program for over two years and have never had an accurate statement!Desired Settlement: I would simply like Navient to fix the problem of my payments getting misallocated. I would like my payments to be allocated correctly every month for now on and therefore have statements that I can actually reference and check for accuracy.

Review: Naivent has set me up on a payment plan and the payments have been automatically deducted from my checking account as set up with the organization. While checking my credit score, it was found that Navient had been reporting the account delinquent even though the account was current. I started dealing with Navient on 8/31 to get this issue resolved and the negative reporting was retracted about 2 weeks later. The account has yet to be brought current and there are now late fees being applied to the account. I don't know if they have reported the account delinquent to the credit bureaus after retracting the initial negative reporting.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the account status brought current showing no past due amounts, the late fees and charges taken off and credited back to the account and to ensure this account isn't reported delinquent to the credit bureaus because of Navient's failure to rectify the situation.

Review: I am tryig to buy a house and I recieved a copy of my credit report, when I was notified that I have an outstanding student loan with this company South West Student Services Corporation (telephone [redacted] They used to be part of Sallie Mae, but then they split. I have tried contacting them by calling, emailing, and I even searched for possible websites leading me to them. I called the national student services, with no luck to updated information on this company. The contact information is invalid. I even called Sallie Mae and they gave me the same phone number as above that is disconnected. I have exhausted all the avenues. This is having an impact on my record score, and affecting my ability to rent or purchase a home, and I would like to get this issue resolved. I need your assistance.Desired Settlement: If I owe this company I need to have updated information on the account, the date of the loan, amount owed, and the payment arrangements. I would like for them to contact me so we can resolve this issuse as soon as possible, or even an updated phone number to contact them. If this student loan is a duplicate loan that has been paid already under Salle Mae I need them to take it off my credit report immediately.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: From 10/2008 thru 10/2013 my student loan was paid monthly thru the Federal Bankruptcy Court Trustee [redacted] These funds were taken directly from payroll deduction. The original claim was for $23,331.83 from Sallie Mae and $14,565.78 was paid thru the court appointed trustee, leaving a $8766.05 balance. Navient never contacted me until Oct 2014 at which time they had my account balance at around $16,000. I have been in contact weekly with reps via phone in an effort to resolve this balance. I have provided the payment records from the court appointed trustee proving the total amount paid. $2000 in interest charges has accrued on the incorrect balance and I'm told weekly that they are trying to locate the payments. They are ruining the credit report that I have worked so hard to rebuild.Desired Settlement: I want my account balance corrected including the interest charges removed, also I want this matter cleared up on my credit report.

Review: I just recently was hired as a Part-Time Computer Teacher under an Educational Grant. My Student Loans have been on deferment since 2011 when I lost my Federal Govt employment. Under Sallie Mae this was never a problem. This new company has acquiered Sallie-Mae

and they have turned down my request for continuing deferment. I have already provided proof that we had been receiving Food Stamps and Medicaid State Assistant for a while now. This was recently terminated with no explanation. My spouse works full time but under

National Guidelines our total income still falls under poverty. My Wife and myself do not even make $30k a year. I received for the PT teaching $450 a month. I just recently had a banruptcy discharge (12-31-14). Now slowly trying to come back. I owe over 2 years

of Child Support and have other debts, including transportation costs from the job that are not reimbursed plus the regular debt. About to incur into a new deb, my spouse and myself will have to purchase health-insurance under the Obamacare law because neither one

qualifies where we work for some.Desired Settlement: Navient needs to approve Loan Deferment and continue it until I am able to secure Full-Time employment, and stop harassing me when I have already explained my situation, the moment I am able again to pay that loan I will.

Review: Took out a loan in 2005. Paid off the balance due in 2009. They applied the amount as monthly payments until 2015 instead, never sent an invoice for 6 years, and now claim that with interest the loan remaining is 300 and some dollars.leaving me to wonder, if I paid they $300 if they'd come back in 6 months and demand the interest on the remaining balance....cause you can never pre pay a loan with these jackwagons apparently.Desired Settlement: The loan was paid in full in 2009. By applying it to pending payments rather than principle, they're basically stealing. And by waiting until just before the 7 year mark to ever send an invoice, it's pretty clear they knew what they were doing to avoid the statue of limitations.

Review: I began calling Sallie Mae/Navient back in early October to find out if there were any options availabe to me for lowering my payments. After many calls answered by those barely able to speak english, I finally got someone who told me there was nothing they could do until my account was deliquent. I called back 6 days after the payment was due and spoke with a gentleman that told me that he was putting his job on the line, but I qualified for a loan extention and interest rate reduction. He gave me the monthly total and I had to agree to have it automatically withdrawn from my account on the Nov 13th, this amount was taken out of my account. On Nov 14th he called to tell me that I do not qualify for that program after all because my FICA scores are too high and there is no stress on my credit report. He offered me another option to extend my loans by 4 years and no interest rate reduction. I explained that I would not be able to make that payment. I make $10.00 an hour, have a car payment and car insurance payment along with 3 other college loan payments. He said there was nothing he could do. My mother is co-signer on these loans, and she rec'd a letter stating that there was nothing that they could offer to help us. She recently spoke to a gentleman who finally returned her calls after she left 4 messages and he kept telling her that they don't have to offer us any options because there is no stress on our credit reports. She kept explaining that I make $10 an hour and she is unemployed and if they could just lower the payment or extend the terms longer then we could make the payments. He kept repeating that there was nothing he could do.Desired Settlement: I need a payment I can afford until I can get a better paying job. I want to pay this debt and keep my credit report in excellent standing.

Review: I received an email of a snapshot of my monthly statement of my student loan from Navient. However it had the wrong due date of when my student loan. The email stated that the due was 10-11-15. Therefore I called their customer service line to figure out the situation. When I called, I was told by a woman at 5:30PM on 10-1-15 that I was correct that the actual start date of my student loan was 12-11-15. Then I asked if they could she could send me an email confirming the new date. I was then told that they couldn't and wouldn't send me a new email with the new date confirmation. Next I asked talked to a manager I was transfer to a manager name [redacted] at 5:45ish PM 10-1-15. [redacted] also confirmed on the phone that my actual start date was 12-11-15. He also refused to send me an email confirming the new due date of my student loan. I asked to talked to someone who could help me [redacted] put me on hold for 10 minutes twice and then I was hung up on. I called again that night and the process repeated itself. All I want is a simple email confirming that actual due date of my student loan so that I am not charge extra money. I don’t feel this is asking much. Can someone please help me.Desired Settlement: All I want is an email confirming the new date of my student loan.

Review: I had contacted Navient to restart my payments after an unemployment deferment and the next day I started receiving phone calls on my cell phone with an automated advertisement saying I was eligible for loan forgiveness/consolidation, which I most certainly am NOT and Navient knows this! The company is now harassing me with phone calls. Their number is in the Los Angeles area: [redacted] and they give another number, [redacted]. I did not return their call because I am savvy enough to know that my loans are already consolidated years ago and once you consolidate, you cannot ever do it again so I have not called back this number but I am sure there are people out there who are getting ripped off!....These calls did not start until a day after I reactivated my loan payments on the Navient website!Desired Settlement: Navient needs to stop their predatory practices!Shame on them!

Review: When navient loans was under sallie Mae student loans. Sallie Mae switch to a new computer system and the payments being made to my loans was change to only my sister and not being paid unto my loans. Seven months of talking with sallie Mae to have that issue and the negative marks to my credit fix. The system had been fix and my payments had been corrected but the negative marks had not been resolved by sallie Mae to the credit bureau. When navient branch off sallie Mae the issue was still never resolved. Called last week to navient and started a disput. I was told I would have been called for more information by who would lead their investigation in a week time. Called today to check on the status and had been informed a credit disput had never been filed. I had been through this with sallie Mae and navient now with this same issue.Desired Settlement: The issue of the 12 negative marks to be resolved.

Review: I've been trying to work with these people and they don't want to help with a lower payment. There is no more programs I qualify for and I've told them that I can't pay what they want, basically a double payment. They are not taking principal off at all only, interest. I need these people to work with me and they won't I have been trying since 2013. I can't afford to have my wages taken way because my paycheck is what helps feed my family. They need to help their customers I can't have my credit report hurt, my wages gone or lose my family tax refund.Desired Settlement: I would like to have a payment that I can live with.

Review: I had my school loans consolidated and then they got sent back to Sallie Mae, now Sallie Mae is some company called Navient, I begged and pleased with Sallie Mae to send the loan back to the last service company, they refused.

I just found out that the student loans were coming due and that the repayment was like 6,000 which is extreme. I spoke to the customer service agents and we negotiated a payment plan not only when I was with sallie mae that was income sensitive last year when I was out of work for health reasons, so the first 12 payments were $0 now I call in today and I find out that in two weeks, or less I am going to be responsible for 1,000 payment. This is not accurate as I have a income sensitive or driven payment plan in place. I My payments were supposed ot be $16 dollars on te one student loan and another 16 on the other, so my payments are supposed to be 30 dollars a month for 120 months because I filed paperwork for a delaware based non-for profit organization so I qualify for the President Obama special program.Desired Settlement: I already had 12 months no payment due

Meaning I have 108 payments left to pay at 30 dollars a month .

I was promised a document to offer my credit bureaus and my auto dealer so that they can recalculate my debt to income ratio. The total amount due for the loans taking into consideration the income should be 120 payments - 12 payments = 108 payments of 30 dollars = 3240. I would like a document stating this sent via email, as promised AS I have complied with all instructions and have been promised this more then two weeks ago. If this can not be done by the 11th of Junly I will require a extended forbearance. I understand this si a problem because this is part of Sallie Mae a organization I asked to be no part of because I have witnessed how this comapny harasses customers once loans come due. I have witnessed harassment, and illegal activity.

Review: I called to try to make arrangements with the company as I am recently separated from my husband and my mom is the cosigner, only has 1 household income right now. I was told "there is nothing I can do to help you" and then resolved upon putting in a note for a late payment. Then after 10 days past due, instead of calling me, the company directly bypassed me and called my mom, at work and demanded 600 for the past due plus July's payment that is not due for almost 3 weeks! So my mother who cannot afford the payment due to her hardship was very distraught over being threatened to be reported to credit bureaus. After my call stated it would be noted to be made as a late payment to maintain good standing! So now we are both being reported for this late payment and all of this emotional distress was caused due to an error or blatant lie on behalf of the company in addition to the late fees. I will be investigating into my credit report to see what other invalidated reports have been made and contacting a financial attorney. I am completely disgusted with this service.Desired Settlement: I will be consulting with a financial attorney regarding settlement. My report has been severely damaged at first glance by these "customer service resolutions" that indeed were blatantly false. Sufficient documentation is in my person of all instances and will be compared. A copy of such recorded conversations will be required from the company. They will be contacted.

Review: I authorized a payment to student loans within a specified amount a transaction. There was an issue with funding within the account. No call was made to me or notification of such a problem. They changed the payment to enable them to withdraw and have my account charged for non sufficient funds 4 times. I never chose to work with this company. [redacted] switched my account to them. I don't want to deal with these people anymore.Desired Settlement: I want to go back to [redacted]. I never asked to work with this company. I also want to be refunded the money that should be used toward gas and food. Not bank fees.
