Review: I have been attempting for over a week now to collect my payment history amount and information from Navient unsuccessfully. My initial request yielded an answer that had only the last 6 months payment for only 3 of the 7 loans they service on my behalf. They told me they were unable to send me the rest of the information but that it was available online for viewing and that there is a print option. However, the print option only allows printing back to 3/6/13. My loan repayment history goes back to 2008. I then tried to copy paste the information to make my own document, but the information did not transfer well and became garbled. After being very unsuccessful in trying to print the history, I called again. They were able to tell me the total amount I have paid thus far, but after doing the math the amount they gave me are too small because the number is not big enough to cover the two loans I have already paid in full. I have no way of checking for their error. I believe they are intentionally keeping this information from me in order to keep me on the repayment treadmill indefinitely and illegally.

Original total loan amount for all 7 loans: $23,690.00

Total amount towards principle and interest Navient said I paid: $15,653.15

Current total amount as of 5/6/15(w/ loans 1-01 & 1-03 PIF): $21,207.70

PIF=Paid in Full

Generally, not always, but for 8 times out of 10, I have paid above the amount requested by Navient and their predecessor, Sallie Mae. I usually pay $250 per month total to Navient. Using the extra money to target one specific loan, which is how I have managed to pay off 2 of the loans already. On occasion when I found myself with extra funds, I would make a double payment in a month or purposefully take a sizeable chunk out of a specific loan.

Now $250 x 12 months x 8 years = $24,000

I believe my total payment amount is closer to this $24,000 figure, if not more because I have made double payments on occasion, than to the $15,653.15 they have quoted me.Desired Settlement: I would like a full list of my entire payment history for all 7 of the loans serviced by Navient. The numbers for my 3 private Signature Student Loans are: 4222, 4230,4248. The numbers for my federal Stafford loans are: 1-01, 1-02, 1-03, 1-04. Thank you Revdex.com for your help in this matter.

Review: I had over over $7k taken out of my account by Navient and I was not given any information on it because they said my account was closed.

I went to get some gas at the gas station on Friday 4/17/15 and my card was denied. I immediately checked with my bank and I saw that there was a withdrawal of over $7000, from a company called Navient. I had no idea who this was. There was a number associated with the account so I called it to find out what was going on. They told me that they were now the company that is taking care of collections etc for student loans and that they had taken that money for loans that I had. Here's the problem: I have never taken out student loans. I've only used FAFSA, which was around 10 years ago. They finally gave me information to logon to their site and it had 2009 as the year of the student loan I was married and pregnant with my second child by then and not in school. Navient would not give me any information because they said that the account was closed and they couldn't do anything with a closed account. They said that they had sent 2 notices to our previous address and 1 notice to our current address, which we have never received any of them. Other than those supposed 3 attempts to contact us we haven't heard ANYTHING from them and then all of the sudden basically all of our money is taken out of our account leaving us with NOTHING!! We have small children and now all of the sudden we have no money, not even for food, gas or anything. They would not allow my husband to be added to the account in order to get a better understanding of what was going on. They just said that they could not speak with him because he was not on the account and the account was already closed. The only thing that they could do is send us some type of documentation that we would have to fill out and get notarized and send back to them,,and all the meanwhile we are completely out of money. HOW CAN THEY DO THIS?!!!! They can take money out of our account but can't explain why or where this money originated from?Desired Settlement: 1. I would like an explanation of the charges

2. Upon explanation of the charges, I would like a refund.

Review: Navient (formerly Sallie Mae) has repeatedly changed the title of my student loan form federal, to personal, to private, and back and forth between the three to avoid this loan being discharged due to disability hardship even though I have already paid them more than the loan was originally for due to outrageous interest rates. The main complaint is that they repeatedly call all day and evening and send threatening letters about garnishments.Desired Settlement: This loan should be discharged since I have already paid more than the original loan over the period of almost 9 years (though I paid for 7 years straight).

Business

Response:

Navient requires more time to review the concerns addressed in the inquiry. A letter will be sent shortly addressing the issues.

Review: Navient sent an urgent notice to pay my loan bill by April 17th or else my file will go into collections. I have been extremely stressed about making this payment especially because I already made my monthly payment. When I contact Navient, they tell me that my file is already in collections and provide no further way to resolve this issue. Obviously, this has caused added stress especially because I am making every attempt to improve my credit score. When I contact the federal loans office, who has access to Navient's system, they said the notice is inaccurate, they can see that I paid my bill on time and in full, that no additional money is owed this month, and that my account is not in collections. I am furious about Navient's poor customer service, inaccurate information concerning my account, and complete unwillingness to assist me.Desired Settlement: I want Navient representatives to learn how to do their job correctly and to provide accurate, helpful, and courteous service. I don't ever want to receive an inaccurate urgent payment or threat of collections notice again. I also have a second account with Navient (formerly managed by Sallie Mae) that I have been unable to pay because Navient incorrectly sent that one to collections. I want that mistake rectified so I can continue to pay my bills on time. This company has the most incompetent customer service I have ever encountered and should be ashamed of themselves for the unneccessary stress they are causing student loan borrowers.

Review: My account repayment is current and the account is in good standing. I made two payments that were above and beyond my scheduled monthly payment, and specified that they be applied to principal. When they were also applied to interest, I called to rectify that situation. The first person with whom I spoke said he fixed the first payment and applied it entirely to principal. He said he could not do the same with the second. I called again and spoke with an account manager. She informed me neither payment could be applied strictly to principal as that is not how their system works. She apologized for what she called "misinformation."Desired Settlement: I would like the entire balances of the extra payments I made on April 14, 2015 ($1600) and April 24, 2015 ($1089.62) to be applied strictly to principal.

Review: I originally had undergrad student loans through SallieMae, but they were transferred to Navient at some point during my graduate training. these loans were deferred and not being paid on. I had a total of 3 loans, 2 of smaller amounts <2500 and one >7500. I decided to pay off the 2 smaller loans during my graduate training, and left the other alone to begin payoff when I graduated. I graduated in May 2015 and checked on the larger loan to begin payoff (more on the larger loan later). \When signing on to my account, I noticed a small amount was left on BOTH of the loans I thought I had paid off. I contacted the comany regarding these loans who told me I indeed had not paid off the entire amounts on th smaller loans and still owed around $60 combined to pay them off. electronically paid off the remaining amounts on each of the 2 smaller loans according the the amounts listed. I checked my account information a couple days later to verify complete payoff on the 2 smaller loans, but my account showed +$0.05 on one and -$0.06 on the other. called the company, they said something along the lines of it could take a while for the balance to be straightened out. waited a week or so, signed back on to look in to paying off the larger loan. in order to not have the same mistake this time of not completely paying off the loan, I asked to speak with a manager. made the payment over the phone with the manager to completely pay off the loan. he stated because the loan gains interest daily, my payoff amount would be more that what it shows online because it could take 24-48 hours to process. paid that amount over the phone with the manager. a week later (today) I sign in and my account shows the payment I made was in fact paid on to one of the smaller loans which now has an overpaid balance of $10,000, but nothing was paid to the original loan and it has gained interest over and over again. I spoke today on the phone with a customer service rep who transferred the balance from the overpaid loan to the larger loan and said again, it could take 24-48 hours before my account would show changes.

I am a recent grad, trying to payoff my loans. these are the only private loans I have used for student loans. It has taken at least 5-6 phone calls to this business to try to gt this resolved, but I still keep getting the "run around".Desired Settlement: I would like to have my 2 smaller loans and 1 larger loan finally show a balance of ZERO. I am tired of having to call this company to get this accomplished. I know interest has been increasing as time goes on and on to get this resolved and it would be nice to be refunded for that. regardless if nothing monetarily is paid back to me, I would like this company the be investigated for its poor service and wrongdoing

Review: I was informed today by Navient, who now holds my Sallie Mae loan that I had a second Sallie Mae loan that went into default, and Navient has now withheld the $ 678.70 out of mine and my husband's federal tax return. SALLIE MAE NEVER NOTIFIED ME THAT MY LOANS WERE SPLIT OR THAT THEY HAD BEEN TRANSFERRED TO NAVIENT. Sallie Mae was supposed to be doing automatic drafts of my payments, and had my checking account information as when I finally got up with Navient and got online they had my bank information on file. My complaint is that my loans were always together and my payment has always gone against both loans. The man I spoke to even admitted that the loans were together until some point when they were separated. I WAS NEVER CONTACTED BY ANYONE, OR EVER INFORMED THAT THE LOANS WERE SEPARATED. It is apparent that Sallie Mae is incompetent to handle student loans as they never inform individuals about anything with their loans and you cannot repay what you do not know you owe. If this is the quality of work government affiliate programs are capable of then it is no wonder that our country is struggling.Desired Settlement: I want a full investigation referred to the Department of Justice against Sallie Mae and Navient regarding their failure to adequately service the loans.

Review: This month, Navient auto-deducted all of my loans twice, causing about a 400 dollar overdraw. This resulted in me having to borrow money in order to pay rent.

When I emailed them asking them to correct the issue, they told me that my auto-deductions had been processed for that month, not addressing the issue at all. After that, I called them and they told me they could do nothing over the phone, and I had to screenshot my bank account information and submit via their document portal. However, their document portal only has pre-set documents, and has nothing to upload this to.

I called back again, and they claimed that I made the auto-deductions myself, and tried placing the blame on me. I told them this is not the case, and they agreed to refund my bank account money. Now, it has been over the 10 days they said it would take to refund me my money, and by the time I receive the funds back, it will already be time to withdraw the funds again.

When I asked why this could happen they said "Oh, this is a glitch, it happens sometimes". This doesn't work like that, and they should look into this more and have a little quicker resolution to these issues. They can't just take money whenever they want from us, and then take two weeks to refund it.Desired Settlement: I want to be refunded my money, even though by the time it happens, it won't happen anymore.

Review: Navient has placed a lean on my financial aid without notifying me about the over borrowing being applied to my account. I received no letter or phone call about this payment issue. The lean is in the amount of one dollar. I have submitted the paperwork they requested five times and their claim is that they either can't read it or they don't see a signature. This is their error because on my end I can see both check marks and signatures. It is also their error because I have no control on how much the loan amount will be, all I can do is accept or decline.Desired Settlement: Release of the hold on my financial aid account , so I will be able to start my classes on time.

Review: My student loan was sold from Sallie Mae to Navient. On 12/4/14, I made a split payment on two student loans. One payment of $220.10 on loan #1 and another of $279.90 on loan #2. A total of $500 was deducted from my bank account and I received an email receipt that a $500 payment was made. When I checked on my loan at the beginning of January, I saw that only the amount of $220.10 was credited to my loans, and my loan total had only decreased by that amount. I emailed customer service and was given a letter stating that the proper amounts had been credited to both loans, however my transaction history and loan total on the website still are showing that I only paid $220.10.Desired Settlement: I expect that my payment of $279.90 should be properly credited, and that any interest accrued on the 2nd loan should be adjusted to reflect the payment of $279.90 at the beginning of December. I would also like to be told the proper payoff amount, once this has been adjusted, as I would like to pay off this loan in full, and avoid any further interactions with this company.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: This is the 2nd time I am filing this. I have rejected [redacted]s lies for every letter they sent me. I never got the last letter and so it was supposedly assumed to be resolved. [redacted] is a scam and never resolved my issue. They continually sent condescending letters pretending they have mailed me statements over a period of 8 years. They got into the semantics of it all claiming they aren't "statements" but "interest statements". Bottom line is, they have NEVER sent me ANY correspondence until I discovered myself that they were on my credit report with an astronomical amount of interest. They mailed me copies of supposed statements that they sent me, however that is a BIG LIE, the girl on the phone told me flat out they don't mail anything while in deferment. I want at least 50% of my $4k in interest refunded. Here is my original complaint that Revdex.com marked as resolved and it most certainly is not. [redacted] has been scamming and lying for far too long:

In 2006/2007 I obtained student loans through [redacted], I knew nothing of the process, the school at the time did everything and I had been in deferment all these years so I had not started paying yet. In 2007 I found out [redacted] was doing some sneaky practices and called them to fix the issue. They had me on the phone with India for 3 hours and refused to help me. I took matters into my own hands and consolidated my loans with fedloan.gov to completely wash my hands clean of [redacted] ended up coding one of the loans as "private" which I was completely aware of, while all their other loans were federal. So, fedloan.gov had not consolidated that one because it had not qualified. After the consolidation, [redacted] made absolutely no contact with me, as far as I was concerned, the loans were gone and I only had one lender (fedloan.gov). I came into an inheritance from a life insurance plan and paid half of my student loans off. This was exciting to me because I felt my loans could be under control. A few months later I got a copy of my credit report to see how the loan reduction balance had impacted my credit. To my absolute surprise, I saw $12K loan from [redacted]. I immediately began making payments on it because the loan was so large and I wanted it off my books. I noticed NONE of my payments made a dent in the balance, in fact, my balance continued to grow above and beyond the $100 I was paying per month. Which, I might add, it only asked me to pay $50, so I thought I was doing well by paying double what they asked. [redacted] has sneakily kept this loan from my knowledge, and now has it to where it is nearly impossible to pay it back. I researched [redacted] and found out they are widely known for practices which make it nearly impossible for consumers to pay it back. I called them and asked them what I could do to negotiate my interest because they had NEVER contacted me to inform me that this loan existed. They claimed they are not "required" to send statements when someone is in deferment. However, I received quarterly statements from both fedloan and nelnet. I also receive annual privacy statements from both of those lenders. However, [redacted] kept themselves very secret from me all these years. They refused all help with me on the phone and said they were in the right for keeping statements from me. The "supervisor" (in India) that I spoke to yesterday was "Melody" which I am sure is not her real name. She ignored all my concerns and tried to tell me from a broken English script that they did nothing wrong and that I must pay them everything. I am seeking interest reduction and/or elimination. I would be satisfied with no less than 50% interest reduction. However, I would think I deserve 100% because they used sneaky practices to hide this loan from me until it was "due" in order to rack up outrages interest.Desired Settlement: MINIMUM of 50% of the interest refunded to me. $2398

Review: Despite half a dozen requests to be removed from a call list, the company calls my home 3 or more times each day looking for someone who has never lived here. I've explained this each time I called and was told that my number would be removed from the database, twice the agent just hung up on me and several times they transferred me to an automated system with a survey. Review: I joined a program to bring my loans current. However, there is a 3 month qualifying period before your loans are brought current. Navient sent my loans into collections during that 3 month period while I was paying on the loan. My issue is that no one informed me by phone or e-mail that the loans were being sent into collections during that time. There was a letter sent out about joining the program and that I was in the qualifying stages (the 3 months) but it doesn't say ANYWHERE on the paper that it was being sent to collections during that time. No they refuse to take it off my credit and my co-signer. My co-signer (on one loan and I have 3) was trying to get a house and not can't due to this issue.Desired Settlement: I want the delinquency deleted on my co-signers credit report since that loan is now up to date and it was neglect on Navient's part for not providing that information correctly.

Review: I've been receiving calls from Navient anytime of the day even on the weekends. The reason for their calls is that I failed to make a payment in september/2014 which isn't true. I spoke to a representative March/2015 and I was told it was a mistake on their end, they didn't combine my payments etc, and they will fix it and my account would be back in good standing. After this was handle the calls started three weeks later in due time for my next payment. While speaking to a representative once again they told me I missed a payment in which was again the september payment. I let them know that this problem should've been handled and I still made the payment that was due in april/2015. Now May/2015 comes around and I'm being told the same info. I ignored it and just made my payment for May/2015. June comes around and a representative tells me my account is delinquent and I've missed a payment. I told him that this problem was suppose to be solved. So I go ahead and ask him which payment and he says your May/2014 payment so after hearing this info I told him to check my september payment he said it was there! So I sent my information over for the May/2014 payment showing that it was made and taken out of my account. I received a letter stating my account was in good standing. But for some odd reason I still received the phone calls about my account being delinquent and my co signer was also sent a letter stating my account was delinquent a day before I received the letter stating my account was in good standing.

I'm complaining against this company due to the fact that they're saying they are not affiliates with Sallie Mae and they don't understand why my checks are being cashed by Sallie Mae. I write my checks out to Navient when I make payments and when there is an issue they tell me to check with Sallie Mae. From my understanding Sallie Mae no longer has control over my loan/ payments and Navient does. Each representative Ive spoken to gives me different information. As of today I do not feel safe making any paymenst to this horrible company because the information thats given is not true. As of today they're stating that my account is delinquent. I want to make a complaint as well as needing to know how to take legal action against this situation because something isn't right and its bringing lots of stress towards my life and survival.Desired Settlement: I want a modification/ discontinuance of this Loan! I was told It was lawsuit against Sallie Mae and hopefully Navient as well. If this isn't possible I just want them to get their records straight.

I received a phone call from Navient, I answered and listened to a recording stating they had important information about my student loans. I returned the call and got another recording asking me the reason for my call. It was frustrating not being able to speak to a person, especially not knowing why you received the call on the first place.

Review: I have repeatedly tried to contact Navient. They never respond. Every month, they take funds out of my checking account automatically on an unauthorized date. I agreed to the 2nd of every month, meaning November 2nd for this cycle. This cycle my funds were taken out on 10/31. 3 days early. It really screws up my checking account. My original creditor had me set up automatic payment for my school loans. I set my date for the 2nd of every month. I agreed to pay my loans only on the 2nd of every month, not sooner. I choose this date because I usually get paid on the last day of the month and that allows 2 days for it to go into my checking account so it would be in time for my school loan withdrawl. I never had any problems with the previous creditor. Navient took over my school loans and they have repeatedly taken my funds out several days before the date I allowed and choose. I never authorized them to take the funds out any sooner. I have repeatedly tried to contact them and asked them not to do this and if they cannot do this, then to move my auto payment to the 4th. I have not gotten any response. I keep getting my checking account overdrawn due to this unauthorized withdrawl. In order to cancel their unauthorized withdrawl, you want me to pay $30. I shouldn't have to pay anything. It is $34 for my overdraft fee. It is illegal and there is no contract allowing them to take out my school loan whenever they feel like it. My original agreement with the original creditor was for the 2nd of every month and not a day sooner. I would also like to point out that I have never signed any agreement with Navient to take out any funds from my account. The original agreement was with Sallie Mae. I have never given Navient any contract or authorization to take out any funds from my account.Desired Settlement: Stop taking my funds out early! Give loan customer a simple and easy way to email where you respond. Customer service is non-existent.

Review: Ever since Sallie Mae became Navient they have miss applied my payment each month so instead of paying the due amounts on all my loans, they over pay some loans and do no pay others. I have had to call them four months in a row because when I receive my new bill it says I have a past due amount, despite whatever I paid the month before. My "over due" accounts collect interest (some at 9.75%) and this had the potential of negatively impacting my credit score. I do not have time to spend over an hour each month on the phone with them correcting mistakes like this. Last month I paid over the phone after speaking to a representative to make sure I paid the correct amount, and this month's bill still says I'm $372 past due. When I tried calling today to correct this they just transferred me to billing so I could pay my "over due" amount.Desired Settlement: I wish to no longer deal with this company. I am paying them on time every month and they are manipulating my funds to get more money out of me and damage my credit. I shouldn't have to deal with their corrections department every month, or at all, to get my bill paid correctly.
